@BlackenedHalo yeah I kinda wish that it was an option to have field skills and division and blade levels in, but I don’t feel like it affects my overall experience that much. The way I see it just kind of streamlines the game more. I’m still enjoying it immensely and agree with the majority opinion that it’s definitely an improvement over the original in most regards.
Finally finished TotK just in time for me to dedicate my very limited gaming time to this gem. I never finished the original on Wii U, I got my skell and played around with that for a while but never got much farther. I’m excited to actually finish this game finally, might take me a year or two at this rate, but at least I don’t have to worry about the game being locked to a console on life support.
So we are getting a PS5 and Xbox Series upgrades, hoping this means that the Switch version will see an enhanced Switch 2 version in the future too. I've still not played through it despite owning it. I will get to it eventually. I'm not the biggest Musou fan. I loved the Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors games, and I played a bit of Pirate Warriors 3. I would love to see the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games make a return but it seems that isn't likely to happen at this point unfortunately
MMPR Rita’s Rewind I’m getting for sure. Been excited for it since the debut trailer, day one purchase. I never played the Soul Reaver games, I’ll probably wish list it and wait for a sale
Day one for sure. I never got around to finishing this and this is a game I would love to have portable! I’ve waited years for this to get announced and had given up hope but secretly also got disappointed whenever a new Wii U port was announced and it wasn’t XBCX. I’ll gladly sink in a couple hundred more hours into it.
The modes that require a console per person, those would also require a copy of the game per person right? Since Switch doesn’t have download and play options like 3DS did. Or will there be a free download like Namco Museum had for Pac-Man VS?
Sorry if this was covered in the review I just skimmed it but I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere
@AmyTheBrawler actually what I think would happen is we finally get themes, or even proper folders for the 20.0.0 update just before Switch 2 and then Switch 2 releases bare bones and we have to wait years for these features to be added to it
I’m still holding out hope that if Rita’s Rewind does well enough it convinces them to do a cowabunga collection style collection of the 16 bit and portable games. I believe the Sega Genesis MMPR game was published by Sega themselves, not sure if the same is true for the movie one and the Game Gear ones, but I’m sure they can work with Sega on those rights. I’d love to have the SNES, Genesis, GB, and GG MMPR games all in one place on the Switch. Also throw Zeo Battle Racers in there as I never knew that game existed and Zeo still has most of the same team from MMPR so it would make sense to put it in the Zeo game as well
We really need a collection of the 16 bit and GB and Game Gear games like we got with TMNT in the Cowabunga Collection. I’d be willing to bet it would sell fairly well considering how much nostalgia there is for the original Mighty Morphin era
Ugh I’ve had this on preorder since the localization was announced. I got really excited when I saw my Amazon preorder finally showed a shipping date for 9/12. The first game was among my favorite PSP games.
2025 for sure. Nintendo won’t want to drum up hype for a successor before the big holiday rush. Squeeze out one more holiday for the Switch hardware before giving us a glimpse at the future. The reason Switch was first shown in October was because Nintendo had all but abandoned the Wii U by this point. I’d love to believe they will repeat that success with an October reveal but my gut says they will wait until early next year to try to maximize sales of Switch hardware
I’m not the biggest fan of fighting games but I’ve been craving ports of Power Stone 1 and 2 on current hardware so I don’t have to break out the Dreamcast or PSP every time I want to play (especially since I currently need a new battery for the PSP and misplaced my copy). I’m curious about Project Justice too, heard nothing but good things. I am surprised we are getting Project Justice but not Rival Schools. Would’ve made so much sense to bundle them together. Also wish Techromancer was included too, make it double as a sort of a Dreamcast greatest hits fighting game collection
@JohnnyMind that wall scroll is 100% nicer than this. This is just way too plain. Honestly if GameStop were offering that wall scroll I would go out of my way to preorder it from them. This poster though, I don’t see myself ever hanging it unfortunately
@anoyonmus this game really shouldn’t be that demanding. I believe it’s more of an optimization issue than a hardware issue. I supported this game through its original Kickstarter campaign, I really do enjoy it, but I’m not going to defend the fact that the Switch port was clearly the least of their priorities. I ended up backing it with a physical and digital copy of the game, physical I got on Switch, digital on Xbox. Completed the game on Xbox but I still to this day haven’t finished the Switch port
@Notsoavid at this point I’ll even take ports of the previous games, I would like them to be accessible to current platforms so I don’t have to hook up my PS3 every time I want to play. I agree most Gundam games (specifically ones that actually get localized) tend to not be great. I still have to give Rise From the Ashes a fair shot. I got the game used quite a few years ago with no instructions and that’s a game that I feel needs some instructions because starting it I have no clue what I’m doing. I enjoyed the Gundam Battle Assault games on the PS1. Unironically some of my favorite fighting games. And SD Gundam Battle Alliance seems pretty good from what I’ve played so far. As for this I’m hoping it’s good. I heard Breaker 2 and 3 were both really good but I never imported them, and I foolishly got New Gundam Breaker, being the first localized Breaker game I figured I’ve heard nothing but good things about the last two games and, well, I regretted spending money on that garbage
@ottoecamn agreed. I like the demon fights as it adds a bit more variety to the more traditional feeling mini games, but the small number of actual mini games make them repetitive. It’s really my only criticism for an otherwise above average Mario Party clone. Heck in some ways I think it’s better than the last few Mario Party games
@marcelominucelli I don’t see how Shredder’s Revenge makes this game unnecessary… they are completely different games, we can have more than one great game in a franchise without it being unnecessary. Thats like saying Tears of the Kingdom was unnecessary since we had Breath of the Wild.
Disappointing to hear about the performance issues. The game should be able to run like butter on Switch. Hopefully it’s just a matter of a performance patch of two. This ran flawlessly on my iPhone 12 max and doesn’t seem like it would be a resource intensive game
Restarted Xenoblade Chronicles X as it’s been so many years since I last played it best to just start fresh. I’ve accepted we are not getting a port anytime soon as much as I’d been in denial about it
@Patendo that’s my hope. This game is great on iPhone using a backbone controller but it seems light on content. Admittedly I haven’t finished it, but it seemed like I got really close on one of my runs. If I was as close to the end as I believe I was then I really hope for more content, especially with that $30 price tag
@Samalik I second this. I have the physical version preordered but I’m not convinced to keep it mostly due to how awful New Gundam Breaker was. I heard so many great things about the Breaker series, it figures they would localize the worst one… hoping this is a return to form
Getting arrested and sentenced is very excessive if he was doing nothing wrong with it. I would understand them confiscating it under the ruling that it could be considered a concealed weapon and let him off with a warning about carrying such things. I’ve seen these things floating around on Facebook and considered getting a couple of my favorite swords
Hoping One Piece is good on Switch as I skipped it on PS5. Already got NES Championship Edition physical on preorder and though I highly doubt I’ll get it at launch as $30 feels like a high price for it, TMNT Splintered Fate was really good on my iPhone using a Backbone controller so I’m looking forward to having it on Switch at some point
Need to get back to SMT Vengeance, playing the Canon of Creation first since I never finished the original game. Also just got Unicorn Overlord as Amazon had the Switch version for only $30 this week so I’ll likely dabble in that
So if a game was never localized outside of Japan it doesn’t count I suppose. SMT 1 and 2 certainly were originally on Nintendo platforms, I want to say SMT if was too, probably some other spinoffs I’m not thinking of and most if not all of these have seen fan translations so they are certainly playable if you have the means. Speaking of spinoffs, P3P and P4G belong in this list. I would argue P5R as well but at least the original Persona 3 and Persona 4 were originally released as Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3/4 at least for the US releases. You guys have TMS#FE and Jack Bros on there and they don’t feature SMT anywhere in their titles….
@cartunecartune @Donutman fairly recently I got a Backbone controller for my iPhone that came with an Apple Arcade free trial. This game was by far the best game on the service that I played. It’s really a lot of fun. The price does seem pretty steep for it. Though I hadn’t completed a run yet I feel like I may have gotten close unless there is actually more to it than I expected, but if not then $29.99 is kind of high for this. That said I might not be able to resist getting it on my Switch when it releases. I’m also kind of hoping that this price indicates that there may be some new content added to the console version
Glad we are getting more than 5 boards this time around. 7 still seems a bit limiting. Really wish they would either give us 10+ boards at launch or at least make additional boards available as dlc. Don’t know why this series is so against dlc it’s actually the kind of game that works great for future dlc content expansions
I’m conflicted on this. I really just wanted the original game, licensed music and all, remastered. This remake has had me worried for a while now. I just really hope it doesn’t disappoint. I still have my Xbox 360 copy and still find myself wishing they would just make it backwards compatible already. This probably won’t be a day one purchase for me since it seems like the physical release is coming sometime after the digital, but I’ll be keeping my eyes on it and hope it still has enough of the spirit of the original release.
Since this is old news seeing the headline got me excited for a hot second thinking an English localization was announced… really want this to get a translation, and with the explosion of popularity modern Persona games have seen in the west I see no reason why Atlus can’t get a localization done and drop it on eshop. Sadly I know that won’t happen though
Preordered this set right away and got instant buyer’s remorse. For what this set is the price is completely insane. But as a life long Zelda fan that has wanted a Zelda themed LEGO set forever this was a dream come true for me. I do wish at the very least we got some enemies. An OoT Ganondorf minifigure would have been appreciated, maybe a bokoblin, buildable Guardian. I suppose we do at least get Deku babas at least. Hopefully just like with Sonic this evolves into a collection, and if so hopefully they get priced a bit more reasonably
@Elitepatriot unfortunately the Mutant Mayhem continuity seems to be the new standard for TMNT. I personally didn’t like the movie much at all. I know it did very well so it clearly has its fans, but I didn’t like the art style, character designs, lack of individual personality between the turtles, or the story as a whole. I may try this eventually just because TMNT games usually tend to be good to great so I’ll give it a chance but not at full price. Lets just hope that the inevitable next incarnation of TMNT is better than this
@Cathalm Metaphor ReFantazio as well for year one. Both is and P3R will release complete with all their dlc by year one of the console’s launch. This is what I’m expecting, and I will double dip on both
@Znake Ganon as a large minifigure like the Hulk or Thanos would work really well if they used ALttP Ganon as inspiration. Otherwise I’d rather have a Hyrule Castle based on OoT with adult and young Link and Zelda as well as Ganondorf and one or two grunt enemies, maybe we could get some form of custom Lego skeleton minifigs as Stalfos. That said if this set turns out to be real I’ll certainly not turn my nose up at it. Hopefully just like the Animal Crossing sets it would get at least another wave because it doesn’t feel right not to have Ganondorf included in the minifig selection
I have a collection of video game/anime replica swords going. I have Could’s Buster Sword, Squall’s Gun blade, Sephiroth’s Masamune, and Kenshin’s Sakabato. I’ve been looking all over for a replica Master Sword as well as Hylian Shield. I know these can be easily found technically, but every one I’ve found so far I’ve been unhappy with. Either the coloring on the hilt is incorrect or the sheath is wrong or it lacks the proper etching on the blade. The shield is even worse to find a good replica. If this were an actual steel replica I would probably buy it in a heartbeat. It’s by far the most accurate looking of any I’ve seen so far. I’m guessing the inaccuracies are intentional to avoid Nintendo suing for copyright. It’s frustrating because if this were an actual sword it would be that perfect display piece I’ve been looking for
@Broosh it’s a lot of fun. I can’t really recommend a full price purchase due to lack of content, but definitely when it goes on sale for like $40 or lower. I’m holding out hope for a dlc announcement in the future. As I stated above the game searches for add on content every time you boot it up so it must at least be planned.
I had this preordered on Amazon and played it day one. For me personally I feel it’s closer to a 7. I’m having a lot of fun with it, it looks great, I disagree with the minigames ranging from alright to bad, I don’t feel I played a truly bad one among them. My only real complaint is lack of content. I’ve had the same complaints with the past few Mario Party games, but why is 5 boards the bare minimum? I would’ve liked to see maybe 7-8 minimum. Also there’s too few minigames. I’m holding out hope though that, unlike Nintendo/NDcube, this game gets dlc down the road. The fact that when you first boot up the game it searches for add on content tells me that it’s at least planned so hoping we get a few more boards and some more minigames.
@TheExile285 not going to lie I’m tempted by that one as well. I was disappointed when it was revealed that it was the Wii version and not the PS3/360 version that got ported, but over heard good things about the Wii version and I never played that one before.
Kind of annoyed with the pinball that the Mandalorian and Collectibles tables are not available as dlc for Star Wars Pinball and instead are on Zen Pinball 2. I’d rather have all tables accessible in one location. I have no idea what they were thinking. Honestly until today I hadn’t realized these tables were actually available on Switch because I always looked for them to be added to my Star Wars Pinball game
@Peteykins agreed. I don’t understand why they haven’t ported NES Remix 1 and 2 to Switch, definitely would be the smarter move here, and give us a sequel SNES Remix while you’re at it.
Little Kitty, Big City day one for me. I never played any of the Endless Ocean games, but I may eventually give this one a shot. I own the GameCube original of Thousand Year Door so I’m not rushing to buy the remaster day one, but it will definitely be a future purchase
Just picked up Beetle Adventure Racing for N64. I used to play it all the time as a kid, thought I owned it but must have just rented it so often that it felt like I owned it. I’ve given up on the hope of it coming to Switch Online as I’m certain Nintendo is not willing to fork over for that VW licensing unfortunately.
I also plan to check out Demon Slayer Sweep the Board. I enjoy Mario Party and Demon Slayer plus the whole idea of turning the franchise into a party game just completely intrigued me. I don’t expect it to be particularly good, but I’m expecting a guilty pleasure.
Speaking of guilty pleasures I’ll also be continuing through Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. I’m on the 5th chapter now and completed several characters side stories so far. It’s not as good as a genuine SMT, Persona, or FE but it’s not a bad game either
I might pick up the new TMNT and Another Crab’s Treasure eventually on discount. TMNT just doesn’t look like it’s a $29.99 game, $19.99 probably would’ve been a better price point for that one, and I’m not a big fan of Souls like games but that crab game has charm I can’t deny that
@LoroTalby My first time playing VR was close, but I agree, any of us that grew up with 8 and 16 bit consoles and transitioned to what at that time felt like massive 3D worlds in Mario 64 was just a mind blowing experience that will probably never be able to be topped. I’ll never forget that sense of joy and wonder 11 year old me had first booting the game up and just running around Bob-om Battlefield for the first time
@-wc- it’s not just R-Type III, Delta and Final actually have it even worse. At least with R-Type III it got a port, not an especially great one admittedly, on GBA, and was on Virtual Console. Delta is still locked to PSone and Final is stuck on PS2 to this day. Really seems like Irem only care about R-Type I, II, and any games like Super R-Type that remix those games. Really would like to see these later entries made available on current hardware
So I’ve been trying to find some information on this but nothing seems to be definitively certain from what I can tell. Does anybody know if there’s going to be any significant changes to the Canon of Creation original story path? Like aside from new demons will there be any meaningful changes to the original story path like how new events, characters, confidants, and mechanics were added into the base game of Persona 5 Royal? I have the original SMT V and never finished it. I’m wondering if it’s worth just waiting for Vengeance to play both paths or if it wouldn’t be a complete waste of my time to play the original now and just play the new path once Vengeance releases
@PinderSchloss this was the worst performing Switch game you have seen??? You must not play much on it then. The performance on this game wasn’t even that bad. It’s blown way out of proportion. I mean it wasn’t great, but it was acceptable. I’ve seen and played far worse in regards to performance.
What??? Who were these people that participated in this poll? How do we have characters from Baldurs Gate 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 yet no Donkey Kong, Mega Man, Kirby, Samus, Spyro, Ryu, Scorpion. Even Banjo-Kazooie (not sure if you can count them as one character though but I digress) or Simon Belmont would be more fitting on this list. This is supposed to be the most iconic characters of all time not your favorite characters.
@RR529 ah that makes sense. It does give off an Ultra Ego vibe. I just really want the manga arcs to get some coverage so I was hoping there was some other part of this I was missing. Anything exclusive to the manga would give me hope that they may eventually expand to those arcs, though given how they seem to be actively avoiding it at all costs I’m assuming they can’t due to some agreement with Toei on only using anime adapted material. It’s a shame as I feel Moro was the best arc to come out of Super. Hopefully one day they decide to continue the anime, then the games will cover them as well

Re: Gallery: 13 Awesome Details We Spotted In The Legend Of Zelda's Great Deku Tree LEGO Set
Re: TMNT: Mutants Unleashed Physical Collector's Edition Looks Totally Tubular
@Elitepatriot unfortunately the Mutant Mayhem continuity seems to be the new standard for TMNT. I personally didn’t like the movie much at all. I know it did very well so it clearly has its fans, but I didn’t like the art style, character designs, lack of individual personality between the turtles, or the story as a whole. I may try this eventually just because TMNT games usually tend to be good to great so I’ll give it a chance but not at full price. Lets just hope that the inevitable next incarnation of TMNT is better than this
Re: Mailbox: 'Switch 2' Launch Ports, Soulslikes For Beginners, Poké Parks - Nintendo Life Letters
@Cathalm Metaphor ReFantazio as well for year one. Both is and P3R will release complete with all their dlc by year one of the console’s launch. This is what I’m expecting, and I will double dip on both
Re: Rumour: Zelda LEGO Is Supposedly Coming This September
Re: Zelda Master Sword Replica Joins Tamashii Nation's 'Proplica' Line In 2024
I have a collection of video game/anime replica swords going. It’s frustrating because if this were an actual sword it would be that perfect display piece I’ve been looking for
Re: Nintendo Will Continue To Support Physical Media And "Maximise" All Software Sales
@Burning_Spear would’ve been nice if Switch cards were read and write so patches could write directly to the card.
Re: Review: Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep The Board! (Switch) - Plenty Of Anime Style, Not Enough Party Substance
Re: Review: Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep The Board! (Switch) - Plenty Of Anime Style, Not Enough Party Substance
Re: Star Wars Day Switch eShop Sale, Up To 75% Off Multiple Games
@TheExile285 not going to lie I’m tempted by that one as well. I was disappointed when it was revealed that it was the Wii version and not the PS3/360 version that got ported, but over heard good things about the Wii version and I never played that one before.
Re: Star Wars Day Switch eShop Sale, Up To 75% Off Multiple Games
Kind of annoyed with the pinball that the Mandalorian and Collectibles tables are not available as dlc for Star Wars Pinball and instead are on Zen Pinball 2. I’d rather have all tables accessible in one location. I have no idea what they were thinking. Honestly until today I hadn’t realized these tables were actually available on Switch because I always looked for them to be added to my Star Wars Pinball game
Re: 'Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition' For Switch Rated By ESRB
@Peteykins agreed. I don’t understand why they haven’t ported NES Remix 1 and 2 to Switch, definitely would be the smarter move here, and give us a sequel SNES Remix while you’re at it.
Re: Video: 10 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In May 2024
Little Kitty, Big City day one for me. I never played any of the Endless Ocean games, but I may eventually give this one a shot. I own the GameCube original of Thousand Year Door so I’m not rushing to buy the remaster day one, but it will definitely be a future purchase
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th April)
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th April (North America)
I might pick up the new TMNT and Another Crab’s Treasure eventually on discount. TMNT just doesn’t look like it’s a $29.99 game, $19.99 probably would’ve been a better price point for that one, and I’m not a big fan of Souls like games but that crab game has charm I can’t deny that
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Two More Titles
@LoroTalby My first time playing VR was close, but I agree, any of us that grew up with 8 and 16 bit consoles and transitioned to what at that time felt like massive 3D worlds in Mario 64 was just a mind blowing experience that will probably never be able to be topped. I’ll never forget that sense of joy and wonder 11 year old me had first booting the game up and just running around Bob-om Battlefield for the first time
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With Three More Titles
@-wc- it’s not just R-Type III, Delta and Final actually have it even worse. At least with R-Type III it got a port, not an especially great one admittedly, on GBA, and was on Virtual Console. Delta is still locked to PSone and Final is stuck on PS2 to this day. Really seems like Irem only care about R-Type I, II, and any games like Super R-Type that remix those games. Really would like to see these later entries made available on current hardware
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance's Protagonist Rocks An Awesome New Look
Re: Video: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Second Official Trailer Released
@PinderSchloss this was the worst performing Switch game you have seen??? You must not play much on it then. The performance on this game wasn’t even that bad. It’s blown way out of proportion. I mean it wasn’t great, but it was acceptable. I’ve seen and played far worse in regards to performance.
Re: Random: BAFTA's 'Iconic Game Characters' Poll Has Us Scratching Our Heads
Re: Best Final Fantasy Games, Ranked - Switch And Nintendo Systems
And people say FF VII is overrated… no way three versions of VI should take the entire top 3 spot.
Re: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 'Future Saga' DLC Officially Revealed
@RR529 ah that makes sense. It does give off an Ultra Ego vibe. I just really want the manga arcs to get some coverage so I was hoping there was some other part of this I was missing. Anything exclusive to the manga would give me hope that they may eventually expand to those arcs, though given how they seem to be actively avoiding it at all costs I’m assuming they can’t due to some agreement with Toei on only using anime adapted material. It’s a shame as I feel Moro was the best arc to come out of Super. Hopefully one day they decide to continue the anime, then the games will cover them as well
