Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

Cheez

It's between nice and meh, I played normal MP4 then transitioned to Switch 2 edition... Both on the Switch 2 mind you. Could almost not tell the difference. I'm sure loading times are better. So, NS2 is a nice experience but NS1 OLED is way better in portable mode. Not so heavy or cumbersome, better image quality. Though 90% I play on TV and NS2 is definitely better for that. But don't take my word for it, I still prefer the Wii U to both of them.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The New Kirby Air Riders amiibo?

Cheez

@Spider-Kev if it's the US tariffs why are the prices also high in Japan and Europe?

Yeah we love Kirby but with the current prices there is no fricken way. I'd probably consider at €20. I mean I have around 50 amiibos. But when amiibos are roughly the price of a game I think that's ridiculous.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sold 5.8 Million Copies Globally In Its First Week

@contractcooker I got it too and look forward to playing it. But... Where I am I was able to pre-order it for €35, SW1. If it was more than 45 I think I would have skipped it personally. I'm sure it's a good game, but I can easily understand why people are hating. I mean just look at Digimon's cutscenes verses Pokemon.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sold 5.8 Million Copies Globally In Its First Week

@liljmoore I'll explain the hatred, it's pretty simple. This game cost $70 and the graphics are akin to upscaled Wii Graphics and there's no VA. If this was $50 or less it might make sense. If this was done by a team of 10-20 it might make sense. But this is one of the largest franchises in the world and cost the same as games with modern graphics, and VA. Even if it's a good game, it's not a great game and the price doesn't seem to represent the perceived effort or time put into it.

Re: Three More Kirby Air Riders amiibo Have Been Announced

Cheez

I have my fair share of amiibo, about 50, but I think I'm done. I literally just bought Metroid 4 Sw1 for €45 and a received a €10 coupon for my next purchase and a Samus keychain. The bike amiibo is more expensive than the game and keychain. Why did amiibos go from 13, to 15 to 25 and not $50! I mean I know inflation has been bad the past 12 years but this is out of hand.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give 'Kirby & The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World'?

Cheez

@dartmonkey My son spent a month doing chores to save up for the DLC, because forgotten world is his favorite game. After completing it today he said "Is that it?" Then hours later at dinner when we were talking about something else he said "Kirby had so many levels and took so long to play. Why was the new Kirby so short." Of course I tried to encourage him saying we had a lot of fun while we played it. But his first response to paying the game kind of reiterates what I said before we got it, it's not enough content for $20. Gosh even a child recognized it was short without any prompting.

There could have been new copy abilities, or at least new challenges for the new spring and gear. Beating the boss could have unlocked a post game like the forgotten world had. Now... We only have 90% of the Staries, but at this point it doesn't seem like there is going to be enough content for the price of admission. As far as the graphics and fps boost... That should have been free and honestly with my 6 year old TV's internal resolution boost for 1080p to 4k it's hard to tell the graphics are any better even switching between my Switch screenshots and Switch 2 ones. The only noticeable improvement for me seems to be with enemies in the distance.

Anyways, great game but the dlc is maybe 15-20% of the content for 33% of the price and so short that it makes a child who says Kirby is his favorite game a little sad.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give 'Kirby & The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World'?

@Polvasti 40 doesn't include the 7 epilogue levels... But each of the epilogue levels are reimaginings of at least 3 levels. Plus the DLC has exactly 0 abilities compared to the original games 12 or 35 depending on how you count them. That doesn't mean the DLC has 0% more gameplay, only 0% new gameplay when considering abilities. Upgraded performance hardly counts. Nearly every switch game has updated performance when running on the Switch 2. Thankfully Nintendo hasn't paywalled load times. It's like buying a new graphics card and playing a game you already own. The developers don't charge you a fee to go from 1080p to 4k in the menu when you buy a new graphics card. At least thankfully for no games I own.

I'm not saying that if people buy this they shouldn't enjoy it. I think, like most DLCs, it's pretty much only for people that have played the heck out of a game because they love it and are happy to have even a little more content. Or people that have enough money where $20 is meaningless for a small percentage of extra gameplay. For those people I'm sure this will be a fun little strole in one of the best Kirby games.

Re: Video: Check Out 17 Minutes Of Gameplay From Donkey Kong Bananza

Cheez

If it's 17 minutes long how are there no spoilers? I feel like even the Paulina information is a spoiler because it wasn't in the reveal trailer. I've been trying to avoid any spoilers, and unfortunately that bit was spoiled. I feel like if you're not wanting it spoiled you probably won't want to watch 17 minutes of gameplay. If you are wanting to watch more than just the trailers, then just enjoy it and don't worry about spoilers.

Re: Talking Point: How Are You Finding Mario Kart's Open World?

Cheez

Meh at best. I wish there was a lot more there. Only single player, ? Block panels seem to do nothing when all in an area are collected, no tracking of peach coins or P Switches by area. All of these seem to only give stickers though it also seems like they initially planned more. Why do ? Panels not unlock drivers or something when you finish an area? Why can't you purchase anything with peach coins? Seems like it was half baked, reduced the content and left the price.

Re: Expansion Packs And DLC Are Now "Eligible In All Categories" At The Game Awards

@LavenderShroud Reviews are helpful when the reviewers aren't bias. Has IGN given anything less than a 7 of 10 for a buggy mess?Has Nintendo Life given less than an 8 of 10 for any recent Nintendo game?

For those that aren't well off enough to buy any game that looks interesting to them reviews can be helpful. And they've saved me from wasting money in the past. For instance when I find out a $60 game is just 10 hrs I know that's not a good value proposal for me personally. Or if a game I was excited about isn't what I thought it would be, like FF XIII which I almost bought an xbox for then eventually got on sale for the pc and had a hard time finishing it even though I really enjoy the series.
