Re: LEGO City: Undercover Games Removed From Wii U And 3DS eShops

@AndyC_MK84 I didn't say they haven't put out any new games on switch. I only said that the majority of the games on switch are Wii U ports. Mariokart, Pikmim 3, Super Mario Bros U, Zelda Breath of the Wild (which they took away gamepad functionality so that it would be the same on switch), Captain toad as you mentioned. Mario Maker 2 though technically not a port is clearly a port because it still has the exact same glitches from Mario Maker. But like most of the ports they added some new functionality of levels and took away some as well, as is the case of Captain Toad and others.

@AndyC_MK84 Nintendoland, Batman Arkham, Assassin's Creed, Xenoblade, Skylanders, Mario kart, Call of Duty... Honestly it's harder for me to think of games that didn't have extra futures with the gamepad than games that didn't. But you're right that some didn't use the feature.

As far as social interactions I guess it depended on having friends that also had a Wii U... But at it's release you could even comment on sports games while watching TV and the gamepad would show you where each shot was attempted in basketball at least.

@AndyC_MK84 Most every Nintendo released Switch game is a Wii U port... Even 3 years later. The Wii U had the virtual console and full Wii functionality. Most other games are ports available on PC at a lower price. If you only care about the number of games available you should just stick to PC gaming. If you want to play Nintendo games the Wii U is the system with the most Nintendo games available. Your argument doesn't seem to hold up when you think about it.

@Bret I think it's the best Nintendo system by far. It has better social interactions, better functionality with the gamepad, better user interface (though load times were admittedly atrocious), better backwards compatibility. Anyways in many areas the Wii U was the best Nintendo has put out. Unfortunately it also had the worst marketing of any Nintendo system. I actually own every Nintendo system, including virtual boy, and the Wii U is the only system I own two of... Because I moved overseas and got one that was compatible with the region I moved to.

Re: Turns Out Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's NPCs Share A Common Bond With The Humble Mii

This mostly makes me sad. I assume that, since this was originally a Wii U title, there would have possibly been Miiverse integration and you would have also possibly seen your own Miis pop up in game. So sad to see what was scrapped to port this to the switch. Like the more verified removal of the use of the Wii U gamepad as a map. That would have made the game way more immersive.

Re: Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth Arrives In Smash Ultimate Next Week, But There's A Way To Unlock Him Early

So I can pay 10% of the price of the game and I can get one more character... I wish I had that type of money because I love Sephiroth. But as I don't buy Cloud for Wii U I won't be getting the One Winged Angel for Switch. If they were more like $1 each I'd definitely be able to afford them... Even if that would still make them more expensive than the fighters already in the game.

@HeyItsFlapjack as @wsli said "I don’t think you can decide for someone else if they can be offended or not." If he truly believed what he said he should remove the comment because I'm offended by it. That should be enough. If you believe what he says you shouldn't need to ask me about why I'm offended either. But, hopefully you're just honestly curious, so thank you for asking. But I'm not comfortable sharing why it's offensive. Hopefully he'll do what's right and remove the offensive comment.

Re: The Wii U First Launched Eight Years Ago Today

It's sad that one of the best Nintendo consoles was also one of the worst selling.

Many of my friends didn't even know what a Wii U was. But once they saw experienced Nintendoland they loved it. Early on there was great 3rd party support like Assassin's creed, Mass Effect, Call of Duty and several others. Though the big names stopped showing up there was always great Indy support and the Nintendo games were amazing.

I still recommend this system to people that haven't played videogames in awhile because it can play almost every Nintendo games, including every Zelda game ever made to this day.

The only reason I can think that it was a failure was bad marketing. As I mentioned before none of my friends know what it was, but many played videogames and had a Wii.

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - Not The Zelda Game You Want, But Perhaps The One You Need

Cheez

@SpacedDuck they did this back with the GameCube... And people still thought there ps2 was more powerful. Plus the ps2, with way less power, destroyed the GameCube in sales. Whole they were open with the Wii having less power, and sold way more consoles than their competition that time around. So I don't they'll go for a new system centered around performance anytime soon.

Re: Nintendo Is Releasing Three Switch Bundles In Japan Next Month

@Maxz if it's digital how is it sold out? I wish they would release the digital version for free or a small price so I wouldn't have to put the cart in every time I wanted to play... I usually prefer physical for games. But for a workout games I feel like the easier to get started playing the better.

Re: Random: Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Cartridge Is Rubbing People Up The Wrong Way

@Soft I care... a little bit.

When I purchased my first special edition of a game I loved how it had no ratings label on the front.

Also, when I first started purchasing games in the EU instead of NA I found it frustrating the the boxes have like a little pink triangle on the bottom of the box that the NA and JPN versions don't have.

Now, does it prevent me from buying a game. No. Do I complain about it ever... not really. But does it bother me a little bit that when I put my boxes together the EU ones look different than my NA and JPN boxes... A little bit.

Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe: 19 Glorious Screenshots, Box Art, File Size And More Details

@Tharsman As of earlier today you could get the game for $20 and one of the dlc packs for 20 gold coins. I doubt the 3 month wait and $40 difference makes up for the extra price of the other, I believe 2, dlc packs. Or, for less than $60 you could get Pikmin 1-3 one the Wii U, plus 1 DLC pack... Is the additional content going to be as good as the first two Pikmin games? I think the fact that they immediately dropped the game, 3, from the Wii U eshop says something about how much faith they have in the new content.

Also I don't believe they would drop the price by 25% within the first two months of release. Has Nintendo done that with another title before? I know other companies have, but I don't recall Nintendo ever doing that.

Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe: 19 Glorious Screenshots, Box Art, File Size And More Details

I can buy a second copy on the Wii U for $10-$20 today, or wait 3 months to buy it on Switch for $60. Tough choice to make. Can someone give me advice on what I should do?

But seriously, I'd recommend buying a Wii U and Pikmin 3 because the play style with the gamepad was amazing. I saw these plus a couple other games on craigslist for $80 recently. Plus you can get them today.

Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?

Cheez

@Big_Fudge I don't know how people are ignoring what happened, didn't happen in 2016. Basically they stopped everything to move it to the Switch the following year. For instance, BotW would have been one game that would have made 2016 incredible, but it was delayed to be a simultaneous released on the Switch.

Re: Square Enix Is Offering Up To 50% Off Final Fantasy, Trials Of Mana And More

@Woodyshoe I don't know. I like vii and ix but I also like rpgs. Honestly none of these are probably down your alley. Maybe try Torna the Golden country if you haven't played it. If you really want an ff I'd say ix if you like fantasy stories and vii if you're more info sci fi. X is very linear and not much exploring, so if you like XC you might not be into it.
