Pokemon Arceus should also be nominated for laziest game. I mean it was good but my wife who doesn't play a ton of games kept committing on his different aspects were just lazy. Though, we did enjoy the game all things considered. But best? As for XC3 beating other games, I'm not sure. But definitely one of, if not, the best Switch game this year.

So I think they are responding to this type of content just as quickly as before. The only difference is people are paying them $8 to publish content the will be removed.

Being into games and programming it always amazes me what they used to be able to do with so little, and how much waste they create now. Do we really need 3gbs per save file?

@YoshiF2 No it would be a dream if they announced the release date of the already announced prime 4. Though it would be nice to have a remastered Prime trilogy, Prime Trilogy on Wii U for $20 is not too bad.

@Gelantious the toys really killed the game. Giants was amazing, but then they felt like the needed to release every character for every game and make the old ones weaker.

I imagine if they just had 8-12 new characters per installment and kept them all around the same strength it could have lasted longer. But yeah it became a plethora of toys and the games list their heart and comedy.

I love my Amiibo! At first I thought I'd just get a few because they're aren't cheap, and don't do too much. I mostly just got sucked in because I had some and I'd be like, I have Link so I better get Zelda. Oh the Guardian is pretty cool too I guess. But eventually I started to get some other videogame collectables and I couldn't stop buying ones on sale even if they weren't from my favorite games. Cat peach and Mario for $7... I already have Gold Mario but Ok.

I'm more shocked Capcom remembered they own the Mega Man franchise.

Captain Toad was great on the Wii U, better than Switch. Aside from that just the things that were mentioned, Xenoblade was great, Nintendoland was amazing, games like Batman were only made better by the hardware. But Mariokart 8 and other exceptional like BotW are the same or better on Switch.

@Nikhogan Plus can we talk about Mario and party dressing up like cowboys. Bowser Cowboy? Don't get me started. Toad talking like he was in the wild west! Mario Party 2 was the high point.

Well I do love Xenoblade. But I'm waiting until I beat the game, or a possible physical release, before getting the DLC. I love having Torna physically.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. Though I'm really looking forward to Mythra and Pyra. Hopefully Xenoblade 3 will have some support as well like it did for the Shulk Amiibo.

I'm just already so excited to see what happens in season 9. With this new plot twist the world of picross is really opening up!

On a side note, I've been playing picross 3d 2 on 3ds and I feel like it's way more interesting than 2D picross. I wish they would finally announce the end of the trilogy.

Why not just make amiibo? I feel like there's more fun in scanning something than typing in a code. If it's because they don't want Nintendo getting money from it, then surely they could make their own nfc chips.

I think it's just lazy honestly. It would be so easy to have a second controller used in the single player campaign. Just program it to have one controller controller half the characters and another controller for the other half. Yes you can pass the controller around, but since they're making this claim I want to point out the ease of something the could probably knock out in an afternoon to include multiplayer. In their defense, maybe the the discussion was focused more on PvP.

Even without this feature this game was easy ahead of it's time. Probably still my favorite fps with friends.

Hopefully not a lot of Wii U ports. But, probably a few Wii U ports. Though I imagine at least a trailer for BOTW2, definitely Splatoon 3 stuff, and maybe Xenoblade 3 stuff.

You can probably but a Wii U and Windwaker and twilight princess for $50-100.

@mariomaster96 I'm sure it's more fun from a writing and design perspective. Also probably more rewarding to make a deep game then to make a game that sells a lot. Also, I imagine the majority of people on the Sports and Xenoblade teams make the same money no matter the sales. Nintendo, Producers, higher ups make more money from sales, but anytime that has a standard annual salary won't care about the salary.

@steventonysmith dream buffet and forgotten world are developed by HAL. Mario Golf and Odyssey have different developers. It's more like saying Mario Maker 2 is a follow up to Mario Odyssey. Which I think would be fair to say. But I guess you wouldn't and that's fine.

@Bret I guess not for sure. But, the article and video seemed to imply so much. Digital only also makes it appear more likely that it's online only. Which is a shame because maybe it would be worth a bargain bin price to play with family.

@CharlieGirl I know they release many side release games. But I feel like some are better than others, and this seems like it might be a little repetitive and could have been better with offline functionality since it seems to only be 4 players competing.

I played the beta and it was fine. Probably would have been great if it wasn't pay to win. I'm sure they'll make bank, as I hear every mobile game does. But it felt like a waste of time and money for me.

@Rykdrew I've enjoyed it for the most part. Like I said, I really prefer unlocking characters as an incentive to do the challenges, which doesn't exist. It's mostly skill, though it's based off of luck if you curve the ball a little. This is pretty annoying to me.

@KoiTenchi Yeah I got Mario Golf late and glad I did. Saved money and have a full game. As I already said, I wish these were locked behind challenges, like the emblems in golf, and not just time locked. At least they aren't charging for them.

I'd rather just have unlockable characters. I meanI guess these are just time unlocked, but I want skill unlockable players.

I don't know why they don't just make it so you have to earn the new content. If it's for endgame players make it so you have to beat the game to earn a new character, upgrade, etc. It's actually rewarding to earn things in game. I was really annoyed at getting Mario Golf 6 months later that it just had the new characters. Make things unlockable to give me incentive to do fun things, like the original Mario Golf or, probably more widely understood, Smash Brothers where you had to do cool things to unlock new characters.

Yeah the Wii U was amazing. The marketing was somewhere between horrible and non-existent. If they would have had an announcement similar to what they had for Switch, a huge Super Bowl campaign, like they did for Switch, etc. etc. it probably would have done close to as well as the Switch. Most people loved their Wiis and I think they knew Wii U was an easy sell... They just possibly overestimated how easily it would have been to sell by not marketing it at all.

@RareFan It's not that everything can be seen at offensive. Everything thing is seen as offensive. This isn't anything new though, it's just that people that are offended have a louder voice, and our culture values comfort toa fault. I'm not saying that wanting your dead relative to be viewed in an honorable way is wrong. But, in view of the bigger picture, we should be more concerned with truth and love than not offending or emotional discomfort.

@electrolite77 Ha yeah. So they are Nintendo published games on the Wii U that were ported to the Switch making them games previously known as Nintendo published games on the Wii U but now on Switch. Or something like that. Please don't get me started on Games published by Nintendo in other regions... Shovel Knight. I guess at least it got the Amiibos too? Another innovation from the Wii U that I love.

@electrolite77 We also must make sure to ignore games that were published by Nintendo for the Wii U, but by other companies for the Switch. Games like Wonderful 101, Lego City Undercover among others. Ignoring games like that, and ignoring a couple other games, it's definitely closer to 13 out of 74. Not ignoring games like that puts you closer to 20 of 74 or around 25% of Nintendo Switch games are actually Wii U games in disguise. But I'll concede that if we don't count any deluxe, DX, definitive editions, etc. we'd be closer to 5 out of 74, or less! And technically Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is different though it shares the same name and 95% of the same levels.

Breath of the wild, MK8, Pokken Tournament, Bayonetta 2, DKTF, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad, NSMBU Deluxe, Tokyo Mirage sessions, Pikmin 3.... and that gets us to the end 2020. So, yeah I guess if you ignore the last 2 years of ports there's just 10 or 11. Of course this ignores 3DS, Wii, DS ports and remakes. And I will concede that technically MK8 isn't a port because it says Deluxe, and same with Pikmin 3, and Super Mario Brothers U. But If I showed them running side by side on a TV few would be able to tell the difference.

Yes, it was a little tongue in cheek But look at the first 5 games. 12Switch, BOTW, MK8, Arms, and Splatoon 2. So 2 of 5 Wii U ports, and some say that Splatoon was killed just so they could push Splatoon 2 which essentially just had content already planned for Splatoon on Wii U. Next a Wii U port, then another new game. So at the end of the first year it was pretty much 1 to 1 Wii U port to new game, but everyone acted like the Switch had so many games and the Wii U had nothing and that's why it failed.

And yet 5 years later the switch probably has more Wii U ports than new Nintendo titles. Glad to see everyone take notice of what they did with the Wii U at least.

The more I see yall write about this book the more I feel like it may be a good book on healthy leadership. It's pretty worrying that so many people have looked up to Steve Jobs leadership considering all the ways he manipulated people. Hopefully we will see more humble leader like this in the future.
