@mesome713 Google and look into vexatious litigation and reread what I said. Also google Mickey Mouse Protection Act. Once you've done this I would love for you to get back to me.
@mesome713 If that is really what you believe there is still an error in your logic. For instance, DVD or Blu-ray drives can rip DVDs and Blu-rays. Yet still not illegal. Sports games are actually only an issue because of all of the money behind it. Technically, TV show that is sent over the air is publicly own, because the airwaves are publicly owned. For instance you are free to record the nightly news, an episode of Friends, etc. As long as you don't resell it. Similar anything on the radio is free to record. People use to record entire albums off the radio, and the record companies got upset and started requiring radio stations to break up the songs so people would stop doing that and buy albums. Back to sports, the only reason that is seen as illegal is because a few specific national sports leagues have so much money that they sue anybody that tries to reproduce their content and they keep it in litigation so long that it isn't financially worth it for the person who is abiding by the law in recording what is legally theirs and paid for through taxes. I hope this helps you understand a little bit more about legality. But in case it isn't clear, and backing up your digital data, or anything is completely legal. Selling data that has been privately backed up isn't legal unless it is outside of it's trademark, copyright date, etc. That's why anyone can create Wizard of Oz, Dracula, or other works that are in public domain. In fact, similar to sports, the only reason why Micky Mouse and some other famous characters can't legally be used is because Disney spent a lot of time and money on their lowers to change public domain laws. You might want to read about public domain, you could find it interesting.
@mesome713 I think you should look into that again. You can check out a company called Western digital. They sell back up devices in most every store that sells electronics throughout the US. People use their hard drives to back up Wii, Wii U, and other systems games and it falls completely within an American's rights to do that.
@mesome713 In the U.S. at least there's nothing illegal about backing up your own data. Also, there is nothing illegal about downloading data. Similar if someone dropped an amiibo in the parking lot and you picked it up if no one was around that could have dropped it. The only legal issue is for people redistributing backup data, and from my understanding, profiting off of it. But it might just be an issue to redistribute it even if you aren't profiting.
Though I think it's great that they're helping out everywhere, I felt like the reason XC2's world was so small feeling was due to them providing help for botw's overworld. That being said I've still enjoyed every Xenoblade and I hope their next major title is just as good but more widely recognized.
These are definitely legitimate claims. If I bought this to play with my family and it turned out we couldn't each have our own island I could see rating it a low score. If their sole goal was to play together and that can't really be done I could see others giving it a zero. Just like if someone bought Mario Kart to play with their friends or family at home but the only multiplayer they left in the game was to race against the ghost of your friends and family.
@Kangarooskillit I understand. Either way, I would hope something five times the price was of a better quality. That being said, I have a Funko 5 star and a couple of Nendoroids and honestly from more than a few feet away you can't really tell the difference in quality. But, yeah I really dislike the Funko Pops. I wish I liked them because there's many characters I like that they have. But I think the eyes just destroy the design, though seemingly make the eyes the essence of what it is to be a Funko Pop.
@Kangarooskillit The eyes are horrible, other than that I don't hate the look. And by poor man's maybe you mean people that don't have the money to spend $50 plus on toys for their kids. I don't think that's the threshold for poor. Yeah the quality is bad, but at least they are affordable for kids. I don't have any, but I have been tempted because they have characters that you just can't get anywhere else. Like Cabbage Man from Avatar, or Figment from Epcot at Walt Disney World. Yes if other companies made cool toys of these guys I would definitely buy them, and so I understand why others would want to buy Funko Pops of more rare characters.
I have about 20 including Gold Mario. But my favorite is probably Shulk. If they came out with more Xenoblade Amiibos, like for Xenoblade Definitive edition!, I would probably buy every single one.
Myst is still an amazing game. The puzzles are some of the best in a video game, the story is great, though of course it is a slower pace than most anything coming out today.
I feel like this kind of DLC doesn't make sense except for the heavily involved or overly wealthy players.
I mean, I would love to play them all. Especially Hero. But $25 or $6 individually?! If they were charging the same price per character for the mean game it would cost $444. Who can afford those prices if this isn't the only game they are playing? I guess I'll stick to Hero in DQ 11 until I get a higher paying job.
They could have covered her up like Mythra from Xenoblade 2... Also, I loved the hilarious tie in within Xenoblade 2 where you could get her covered up outfit once the Smash Spirit was released.
Also, they won't have Mythra / Pyra + Rex because they already have the spirits of them.
@Ralizah Miiverse was and until after the Switch was released. And hasn't been shut down for 2 years yet. But I'll trust everything else you said because I just don't know. I did think that all the Hyrule Warriors content was just DLC out from the 3DS version though.
@Ralizah Seemingly the Switch and the Wii U undocked in the living room are the same. But what about in docked mode for both? Lets look at Assassin's Creed on the Wii U you constantly have a map in your hands that you can plot where you want to go, look for items, etc. without entering another menu. On the Switch you can't. This is the case for about every game that has been on both systems, you have a map, or some functionality that you can interact with all while staying in the main game. Or Captain Toad(which has the same amount of levels they only switched, I believe, old Super Mario 3D world levels with Mario Odyssey. So there are some levels you can only get on Wii U, vice versa for Switch.) but you could use the gamepad to physically interact with the level in ways that you can't in the Switch version. Also most all Wii U games from Nintendo had Miiverse interactions, which is more content than Switch because they got rid of Miiverse. I know that Mario Kart 8 has a battle mode, but aside from that I am not aware of any other ports that have more content, only ones that have less. Also, as I understand most ports perform more or less the same. BotW for instances runs better in some areas and worse in others depending on the system.
Ha the Wii U wasn't even a mistake. Most games on the switch are better on the Wii U. The only mistake they made was the lack of advertising. Especially when you consider for the Switch Nintendo paid millions for a spot on the most expensive ad time in the states, the Super Bowl. Probably more than the entirety of the Wii U's advertising the Switch spent in 30 seconds.
Honestly I think the Wii U mainly failed because it didn't have the advertising of the Wii and switch. But also only the "hardcore" version came packed with Nintendoland. Which was one of the best games on the Wii U.
I've owned every Nintendo system that plays multiple games (no game and watch or arcade cabinets) and I have played practically everything. I would say not playing Mario Sunshine and to a lesser extent Link between Worlds is too bad. But missing most of those other games is nbd. Though I've played practically everything I've never played a Luigi's Mansion. Somehow it seems a little uninteresting to me. But I think I've played at least one game from just about every series that's on a Nintendo system.
I got a €23 discount buying it early and I'm glad I did. My wife and I have only played an hour but we love it! It's currently her turn. This game has some of the charm and comedy of Zelda but as an exercise game! So far it's way better than I expected. I wish we could have purchased the digital version. But honestly if it was retail price I'd still choose physical.
If it's fake it's pretty good. The Y button that replaced the B button doesn't appear as tall which would make sense if it isn't seated correctly. But either way who cares? Welll I guess someone did pay $25,000 for a misprinted amiibo so some rich Nintendo fan might care. But why does anyone here care whether or not it's fake? I'm not sure y.
@Morpheel I said "Nintendo is likely to be copying and pasting code in several of their games that are re-releases of Wii U games, or 'sequels'". These two categories are meant to be differentiated. As I said Captain Toad falls under the re-releases of Wii U games.
However, I don't think you are correct in calling Captain Toad a "literal port". Mainly because they removed 4 levels from the Wii U game, and added 4 new levels to the Switch version. To play every Captain Toad level you had to buy both games and systems.
@Morpheel I never said Captain Toad was a sequel. Please read my comment again. I think it's lazy to release a port with animations for another videogame system.
@Cosats @Der While it's true they took away the vast amiibo support, and Miiverse interactions that were in the original I don't think that is enough changed to the game to call it a truly innovative sequel.
That being said, as for the specifics of the copy and paste comment, if you had read my post you would know I never said that SMM2 is a copy and paste of the original. So I guess I am not wrong like you previously stated. Though you're certainly wrong in saying I made that comment and I don't appreciate you putting words into my mouth.
Secondly I'm not sure you're actually curious but are just critiquing my comment to be mean... Even still, so you can understand what I thought was an obvious statement, and to give you the benefit of the doubt I will explain my criticism. Which, again, is not that SMM2 is a copy paste of the original. As you made up me saying.
It is clear that with such a specific bug the code is highly likely to be lifted, copy and pasted, from the first game. The odds of such a specific bug showing up in two separately written programs is astronomically unlikely. With such a specific bug showing up it is also highly likely that much more of the game was copy and pasted from the original. This probability is only increased by looking at other Nintendo Switch games released by Nintendo like Captain Toad which maintained Wii U Gamepad animations in the Switch version. It is obvious that this code was lifted in that title as well. While the Mario Maker games are quite similar it is clear that SMM2 is not a copy paste of the original due to things like the lack of Miiverse, and Amiibo integration.
I hope that helps you understand how Nintendo is likely to be copying and pasting code in several of their games that are re-releases of Wii U games, or "sequels" which also contain enough of the same code to have the same Wii U animations and Wii U bugs.
@Anri02 read the other comments. Many Switch games, including "sequels" like this and Splatoon 2, are practically just ports, bugs and all, of their Wii U counterparts. That's why you see things like an imitated Miiverse in Splatoon 2, or animations that only make since for the Wii U tablet like in Captain Toad. Basically since Wii U flopped Nintendo is simply copying code from Wii U games slightly changing it so it works on Switch and calling it a new game.
It's great that those that didn't have a Wii U can experience the games. But sad that Nintendo isn't innovating, or even fixing, it's last gen games before releasing them as sequels.
@Pichuka97 I was going to mention Captain Toad... But i figured two examples was enough. Could have mentioned most of the Wii U to Switch games. Though that list would be long and these three games are proof enough I think.
I'm honestly not too surprised that they haven't fixed it as unfortunately Nintendo seems to simply copy and paste code to release Switch versions, or Switch sequels, of Wii U game. For instance Splatoon 2 with imitated Miiverse features, or BotW where the simply cut the code to have the Wii U tablet functionality. Though they pretended like the tablet didn't matter when it plays key roles in animation sequences still in the game. I'm not saying Nintendo isn't great. But some of these "new games" seem to be simple remixes of Wii U games. Previously Nintendo didn't seem to release sequels to games without their being enough innovation to set them apart from their previous entry.
In Nintendo's defence. The Xenoblade 2 dlc had improved graphics and they innovated, improved, many game mechanics.
They probably just realized the Wii U is the best system of all time and that's why the choose the controller because they had freedom to use any controller and knew very few people would realize what they did.
So it's pretty much the same game with new graphics right? I guess it's better than the same game with nothing changed, like many of the Wii u ports. But I just can't get myself to pay full price for a game I've already played just because it has new graphics and maybe an hour of new content. Also this game was kind of short from what I recall. All of that said If you haven't played it in sure it would be awesome to get on the switch!
That's funny. When I heard that Animal Crossing would be delayed I got excited because Nintendo is one of the few gaming bastions to still actually take pride in their final product.
I'm kind of bummed it's a direct sequel. But botw is maybe my least favorite 3D entry into the franchise. But... If they have a similar open world but with dungeons and equipment and swords that don't break and a Master Sword that's actually more powerful than all the other swords and an in depth story as opposed to like 12 short videos.... Then I'd get excited. But as it were I'm very hesitant.
I want a new Monolithsoft fantasy game that's similar in gameplay to Xenoblade. Pikmim 4. And a new Mariokart game.
Though I don't really expect to hear about those it would be nice. And let's be honest E3 has been a bust so far with the only real interesting news being that Halo will be day one with Scarlett. So whatever Nintendo does, assuming they announce one new thing, they'll win best of the show.
@RR529 It's definitely easy to jump into Torna. And a better game all around. Improved graphics, better story telling and character development. Though the entire story with some sidequests will probably only take you around 30 hours. I did just about everything short of all of the super bosses and spent about 60 hours.
As far as oversexualization XCX had a bar to choose the size of your bust if you played as a female character. And put Lin, a 13 year old, in a string bikini. Including having her pubic region revealed. (I hope I can say that on here). Though this was censored in the West, and I definitely agree that XC2 takes it a little to far for my tastes as well.
I agree that the exploration was great in XCX. Maybe the best? Though I found the areas a little more interesting in 1. What specifically comes to mind is the random secret area that you step out of and see the entire Makna Forest waterfall, or the giant slope jump in the ice area. (as well as how that area has a sidequest that reveals interesting history of the giants.) Also, I think what pushes 1 slightly ahead is that there are actually cities to explore. I mean New LA is great. But it lacks the diversity of having different cities with different life forms like the Nopon village.
Clearly XC2 falls short of both though it does have cities. It's just outside the cities the areas felt a little linear and at times small. Though... I blame the fact that the Zelda BotW team stole members of Monolith in order to create the Zelda overworld. I think if Monolith had them then XC2 would have maybe been the best since it did have a lot of interesting areas at least.
@Mach_Rider While I enjoyed XCX, and I agree with you about the character design.... How could you say it has better plot and feeling than xc2. They literally scrapped the story within a year of release because they wanted to make you the "Avatar" so you could "make your own story". So my argument is, it had almost no plot or feeling aside from the set up and the end. My other main complaint is that it was all about exploring, which was fun, but you'd come across major items that your searching for for the story and nothing would happen. So you'd have to progress the story a little more and then go back to the item that you already found... Anyways. I think XCX had great potential for a good story, the set up was amazing. And done sidequests were interesting. But there were so many tertiary playable characters that it lost most of it's feeling because you didn't really connect with them. And the plot could have been amazing but it was so short and had so many holes that it made the story lackluster. And I agree xC2 lacked feeling... But I think XCX had less. Especially if you consider XC2 TtGC. Like I said, I still enjoyed XCX though, so I'm curious why do you think it had a better plot or more feeling?

@Pichuka97 I was going to mention Captain Toad... But i figured two examples was enough. Could have mentioned most of the Wii U to Switch games. Though that list would be long and these three games are proof enough I think.
Re: Super Mario Maker 2's First Game-Breaking Bug Has Already Been Found
I'm honestly not too surprised that they haven't fixed it as unfortunately Nintendo seems to simply copy and paste code to release Switch versions, or Switch sequels, of Wii U game.
Re: Nintendo Finally Opens A Second Official Retail Store
New York makes sense.
Re: Random: HBO Uses Wii U Controller To Promote Streaming App Only On PS4 And Xbox
They probably just realized the Wii U is the best system of all time and that's why the choose the controller because they had freedom to use any controller and knew very few people would realize what they did.
Re: Random: Zelda: Link's Awakening Features Some Interior Decorating Changes On Switch
Re: Nintendo's Market Value Drops By $1 Billion After Animal Crossing Switch Delay
That's funny. When I heard that Animal Crossing would be delayed I got excited because Nintendo is one of the few gaming bastions to still actually take pride in their final product.
Re: A Full Sequel To The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is Now In Development
Re: Nintendo E3 2019: What Are You Hoping For?
I want a new Monolithsoft fantasy game that's similar in gameplay to Xenoblade.
Pikmim 4.
And a new Mariokart game.
Though I don't really expect to hear about those it would be nice. And let's be honest E3 has been a bust so far with the only real interesting news being that Halo will be day one with Scarlett. So whatever Nintendo does, assuming they announce one new thing, they'll win best of the show.
Re: Microsoft Details Xbox E3 Schedule, Lists Nintendo Direct As A Place You "Need To Be"
Stream your XBox One games to your Switch. Can't wait.
Re: Guide: E3 2019 Press Conference Schedule: Nintendo, Ubisoft And Square Enix
Can't wait for XBOX to announce that you can stream your Xbox One to your Switch soon.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Has Now Sold More Than 1.7 Million Copies Worldwide
@RR529 It's definitely easy to jump into Torna. And a better game all around. Improved graphics, better story telling and character development. Though the entire story with some sidequests will probably only take you around 30 hours. I did just about everything short of all of the super bosses and spent about 60 hours.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Has Now Sold More Than 1.7 Million Copies Worldwide
@Mach_Rider I see what you did there
As far as oversexualization XCX had a bar to choose the size of your bust if you played as a female character.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Has Now Sold More Than 1.7 Million Copies Worldwide
Re: Rumour: Is The Grass-Type Gym Leader In Sword And Shield Teasing The Date Of The Next Pokémon Direct?
It's definitely the release date of the games. But I shouldn't say more.
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order File Size Revealed
@AntiHero great, i wouldn't consider it without local Coop!
