Pretty lame showing. But Amiibo seem to be all but dead unfortunately. It was a good run. Though I'm one of the few that seemed to like bonus features unlocked by Amiibo. Reason being, I liked to get Amiibos of characters I like so I didn't mind having to have something I wanted already to get a unique bonus in game.
I really hope they do something special enough that it's not a waste of time or money to get Amiibo, but not special enough that it feels like you're locked out of the game without them. Skins are always nice, but it would be cool if there were summonables or whatever that Zelda conjures. It seems like there are so many in the game it wouldn't matter if there were more with special amiibos. Yes you'd miss out on something fun without the amiibo, but also the game could be played to the start to end without them. As if they add mask to Majora's mask with Amiibos. Playing it without them is a complete game, but it would be fun to have more masks.
Are these laws actually about keeping people safe? From an outsiders perspective I would say this arrest probably helped increase civilian safety zero fold.
Can I emulate the game in 4k and have it look better than the Switch port? Not worth $60. Did they actually change the graphics and add content like Xenoblade definitive edition? Worth $60.
Captain Toad in Super Mario 3D world was essentially a minigame. It was so good it became a standalone game. I want more of that. Minigames that are good enough to become their own game. Heck I would be fine if they threw some more Captain Toad in whatever Mario comes out next.
@quinnyboy58 I don't know. X was fine and all but the weapons and add ons and everything in between when it came to gear and Skells was way too convoluted. In the other 3 (6 w/DLC) Xenoblades if you gear up right you can beat enemies 10 levels higher, in X I had a hard time beating some enemies 5 levels lower. Not to mention the lackluster story, I know they scrapped it and a main protagonist to make the story all about the avatar because that was cool at the time, but you could tell it was rushed after they started over with the avatar plot line. Though, there is much to praise about the game like exploration, characters, number of playable characters, use of gamepad, X 2 would only be great if they had a real story and protagonist as well as more locals than the one big city. I mean imagine a Nopon hub, or any of the any of the Aliens having a city 1/2 the size of NLA. I think it would make the world make a lot more sense.
I don't want the next Xenoblade game to be vastly different. It started out as essentially perfect. Why is Xenoblade 1 the best? The story, though they're all great besides X which scrapped it late in development. The armor which was unique for each hero also allowed for incredible gem customization. Now we just get to use 3 greens of 20 possibilities. The side story about the Giants which you only got into through certain side quests and exploration. The growing and evolving relationships and cities. The affinity chart where your characters got each other's buffs as they grew closer, not to mention the cutscenes as the came to like each other more. Not to mention how each city felt vast and unique and it was always fun getting to the next big hub. Oh and having distinctively unique races of playable characters.
Now, there's some streamlining that's nice in the newer games. It's great that the NPC quests feel like more than just fetch quests. But in general Xenoblade one just felt so much more alive as a world than any others. X was going that direction but it's weird that there were no cities in the inhabited planet.
Anyways, I hope vastly different just means it's a fantasy game instead of Sci Fi, or something like that. Because I love Xenoblade, if I wanted a different game I'd not be playing Xenoblade. But keep the basics with a good story and I'm sure I'll love whatever's next.
My question is why are these people losing their jobs. Is it because AI is replacing them, the CEOs wanted to keep their multi millions, or is it bag management, over hiring and creating jobs that weren't needed at the company like what happened at Twitter?
Looks interesting, but what is this game? Is it a platformer, minigame game, RPG? I really have no clue and I am not going to buy something before I know what it is.
@Sequel or interest is dying out because they don't really advertise them. At best there is something on the back of the game case that says amiibo compatible. But, back in the day they had big amiibo kiosks in all the stores that would say amiibo as you walked by.
Geno amiibo would have been awesome, but I'm not big into Splatoon so not really interested.
@LadyCharlie I'm not sure what you mean by whole new generation. This game was released 5 years ago on SNES classic. But for all those people that missed out I'm sure this will be nice. Though $80 for 20 games including this would have been much nicer. Imagine if the had a SNES classic compilation instead of this.
@LikelySatan I imagine you read the article but likely you missed the part that says "What struck us about this 2023 remake in the opening hours is just how incredibly faithful the game is to its 1996 original. From a look-and-feel perspective, this is essentially the same title we first played all those years ago."
This game came out 5 years ago on the SNES Classic for $20 more and with 20 more SNES games. I think a release like this would have made a lot more sense with a game that wasn't made accessible in recent years. Or you know.... just make a new game. Clearly they spend time and energy making this from the ground up. Why didn't they just make a new story with the same characters and come out with Mario RPG 2. Oh well, I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it just not me. I guess I'm also sure that like me some of the 5,300,000 people that bought a SNES mini won't feel the need buy this game again even if it is cool that they kept the feel of the game close to the original masterpiece. And I'm sure there are others that missed out on the SNES classic. Really my hope is that they are trying to gauge interest for a sequel... but to be honest I am very interested... but very uninterested in just a rerelease with new graphics.
Toad! Oh wait... I see they only have blue Toad, Yellow toad, and green Mario. The least they could have done is included Captain Toad instead of two off brand Toads. I mean heckers, they included Toadette, who's great, and not pink Toad, so what's up with ignoring my man Toad.
Honestly I was playing today and thought... This looks about the same as Pikmin 3 even though it's 10 years newer. Pikmin 3, like Pikmin 1 at the time, looked incredible side by side other games on the same device. So for me, though I'm loving P4, I think the graphics and performance aren't that impressive.
@SmileMan64 XC1 is still my favorite. The DE was a great addition to a great game. In some ways 2 and 3 were streamlined, but honestly in order to do that they had to remove things I loved from 1 like the affinity system between the playable characters.
This is so easily done that I'm surprised it's not still the standard... Aside from money. But people have complained about the Xbox still using AA batteries, yet I much prefer that because it can buy rechargable and then swap them out in 30 second instead of waiting to charge an entire controller if it runs out of juicy electricity.
I thought winged Pikmin were trash for years. Then I had a son and he showed me how the winged Pikmin destroy the hairy stomping guys and I noticed they also are almost as fast as white Pikmin because they fly over water, walls etc. Now I sing the praises of our winged friends.
@Aelynn I watched a teardown, I think from Jerry Rig Everything on YouTube. Aside from the special screwdriver I think I only needed toothpicks. The only tricky part was the ribbon cable. Though, I'd say watch a teardown before ordering a fan just to make sure you're competent to do the work yourself. It maybe took me 45 minutes but I've done minor laptop work, replacing memory, cleaning, etc. and fixed drift on a pro controller. My fan was off brand but has lasted 2 or maybe closer to 3 years so far.
@RupeeClock I repaired my own fan 2 years, ago. It really wasn't too difficult. But once opened I found that a couple plastic parts were broken, so even though it was spinning it wasn't really cooling down my system. Anyways, that is to say I don't think it is too uncommon.
The first couple pixel junk games were amazing! I mean, Monsters and Shooter, some of my favorite indie games of all time. Somehow a perfect mix of relaxing and tense which you would think would be paradoxical. Unfortunately their recent games have left a lot to hope for.
Can we talk about the backwards compatibility with controllers? There's no reason the Switch can't do this aside from wanting to sell Drift-Cons. Heck. my Wii U Gamepad still doesn't drift and I am needing to send my Drift-Cons back for the second time.
Let's talk about just user interface and over all fun. Mii Maker, Weather Channel, those beats slapped.
Free online? Honestly though you pay for it now I don't notice the service being any better. At least you get free classic games... But with the Wii you could buy whatever game you wanted and it had a larger library of classics.
Though I'm just getting started I'm done writing about all the ways Wii was better than Switch. Of course Switch does some things better than Wii, but mostly that just includes being portable, and having a larger library of indie games.
@tobsesta99 they had to remake the graphics from scratch not the game. Games involve writing a story, creating battle systems, etc. The only updated thing confirmed at this point is the graphics. Though there could be a new limit break your mechanic, but it hasn't been mentioned yet.
It's Super Mario RPG but with updated graphics? I feel like it's kind of the same whether it be Pikmin 3, Links Awakening, Captain Toad, or Wind Waker HD. If you haven't played it then this will probably be a better experience, if you have, well is it worth another $60 just to play the same thing with better graphics? Especially considering the last release was from just 5 years ago, $80, but also came with 20 more games and a SNES mini console? People will have to make that choice with their money,.
Either way I imagine a Super Mario RPG 2, a game I've long awaited, will only come out if this sells well. And even if it does sell well I imagine that will not drive Nintendo towards a new Mario RPG over another easier option like Earth Bound but with New Graphics!
It's a direct copy with graphic updates. Is this surprising for some people? Also I might label this article with spoilers. Will this be any different from the SNES mini version?
