Both the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy had beautiful endings. I can understand from the point of a storyteller to want to end it on a high note, but as a gamer and a fan of Layton's world I'm grateful they are making a new game
@-wc- We've all seen how video game genres means less and less each year as the lines get blurrier, but the minimalist definition that separates roguelikes and roguelites is that roguelikes (as in the original Rogue) death means starting from zero, while roguelites are usually more forgiving with some sort of progression between deaths.
Annapurna has published more than a handful of gems from smaller studios the past few years. I had come to associate their brand as a seal of trust that "this indie game is sure to be great". This definitely hurts that image I had. I hope the people who resigned get to keep working with what they love to do
Being a Nintendo kid, Sonic Advance 1 was the first Sonic game I owned. I don't know if it's nostalgia or something else but, while I didn't enjoy the Genesis/Master System games at my friend's as much, I found Advance really fun. Never got around playing 2 through 4 but I'd jump at a chance to have a proper "Sonic Advance collection"
Sakurai summarized in a very clear and concise way what I've been living with the past few years in my gaming life. That's it. There is nothing else for me to add
I trust them to strike a good balance between realism and cartoony. I enjoyed Yooka Layle for what it was. I'm not looking to pick the remaster on launch as I've only played the original very recently, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not interested in the wrinkle ironing they did, especially the labyrinthine overworld between levels
@Pastellioli That's just my 2 cents but I don't think Omni really wanted to buy these games for whatever price. It sounded like he was just joking, referencing those bargain seekers that try to underprice nice things, usually from older people selling electronics they don't understand their value. Since Reggie playfully responded, the other people got into the thread and escalated the joke
I don't mean this as an insult but I think the target demographic for this movie are young children who couldn't be happier to see their favorite video game become a movie
Wario Land 4 was my first and most beloved GBA game. I greatly enjoyed Shake It/Shake Dimension and have been sorely missing more Wario shenanigans. I will definitely play this down the road
Lovely key arts. I love those classic designs. Currently playing through DQ7 and, while I was happy for Martial Artist and Mage, I was kinda bummed Sage looks nothing like these
The hero loses his arm during the opening apocalypse but gains a magical replacement? I'm not implying they copied anyone because I don't think they did but it sure is a funny coincidence
Okay, I admit I wasn't paying attention until I watched this trailer. It looks drop dead gorgeous and the gameplay looks fun! Might finally be my first Trails game!
Cue in the people with their Prof Oak, Mr Saturn, Peter Griffin and just a blank slate with a single dot in the middle
Jk. I love the whole Mii thing and I hope Nintendo keep bringing new ideas to keep them around
I'm anticipating this one a lot since I enjoyed the first one so much. With that said, the delay doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather not play an undercooked game at launch, and I will be busy with Echoes of Wisdom anyways

Wishing for a swift recovery. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family
Re: Dragon Quest Creator Chimes In On Characters Showing Less Skin In Upcoming HD-2D Remake
It's a mix of bummer and non-issue. It will hardly affect any gameplay or enjoyment of the game
Re: Take A Deep Dive Into Metal Slug Tactics' New Gameplay And Gorgeous Visuals
As a fan of retro isometric pixel art tactics and the Metal Slug games, the art direction in this game looks so good it hurts

I was thinking about this game just last week. I missed it on the 3ds but will probably pick it up now
Re: Poll: With 'Switch 2' Rumours Swirling, Will There Be A September Direct This Year?
I could be wrong but I don't think they will announce a 2025 console release before the 2024 holiday sales
They might go with a bang like TP and WW remaster for this year, then the early yearly direct for Switch 2
Re: Review: Elsie (Switch) - A Stunningly Presented Mega Man X-Esque Roguelite
I will definitely pick this one down the line!

Re: Sonic Team Would "Love" To Remaster The Advance Series, Says Takashi Iizuka
@DripDropCop146 there is a fairly big chance I'm biased because I didn't get to play the first games enough as a kid. Your reply is entirely accurate

Re: Random: It Looks Like Castlevania: Dawn Of Sorrow's 'Julius Mode' Is Even Harder On Switch
I wonder if it was intentional or not. If it was, then, why?
It's interesting people documented it so fast
Re: Yooka-Replaylee Art Team Highlight Laylee's New Fluffiness In Remaster
@CartoonDan the hardest level in the game is finding where the heck they hid the last level

Re: Random: Fans Are Begging Nintendo's Ex President To Sell His N64 Collection
Where I come from you don't ask a person to sell their video game collection. That's like your firstborn!
(jk you guys)

Re: Miles Edgeworth Gets Suspicious In Among Us Crossover
@Bass_X0 that's the slowest kill sequence an imposter can get by staying in character to avoid suspicion
Re: Random: Former Nintendo Boss Reggie Fils-Aimé Rediscovers His N64 Collection
I always knew Reggie was gold. You can tell by his impecable taste for N64 games.
(I'd hazard a guess that upside down yellow cartridge must be DK64, another solid choice)

Jokes aside, his middle name is, in fact, Theodore. It seems they only got the last name wrong
