Re: Nintendo Bags GLAAD Nomination For Paper Mario's Trans Representation

@AJWolfTill I didn't read what are the other awards beyond what is written on the article. Thank you for the information!

I really like how they handled Juniper, being subtle about it. Honestly, it took me a while to notice no one ever genders them. Meanwhile, A is referred as female inside game programming but no one ever uses pronouns ingame, instead always calling A by name

Re: "I Was Honestly Surprised" - Yoshio Sakamoto On Nintendo's Approval Of Emio

I know there can be a lot of PR talk and advertising in interviews these days, but this one was very inspiring.
The team wanted to tell a story and send a message, and the producer worried the only way to do it "just right" might clash with the publishers views.
That's why Nintendo games feel different to this day. They didn't sanitize art for the market. I was on the fence on Emio but if I ever buy it, it was this interview that tipped me

@Coolmusic @Joeynator3000 I was going to mention it's from Wario Land 4, but then I double checked before posting and found out it's been present in Wario Land 2 and 3 too. Although I'm sure this particular design with swirly eyes and a fork stabbed on his belly is from Wario Land 4

@RetroGames but you don't need to be LGBTQ+ to appreciate the fact your company treats your LGBTQ+ coworkers well.
Besides, the setence that mentions "partnership system" also says "They also have a deep understanding of diversity[...]" and "[...]among other progressive and practical initiatives." which probably also benefits employees who don't indentify themselves as LGBTQ+.

Re: Random: Pokémon Fan Crunches The Numbers To Settle Alpha Sapphire's "Too Much Water" Debate

As a fan of older pokemon games, yeah, long routes on water are annoying mainly because anywhere, at any time, can start a wild battle. Just like caves you feel unsafe but mainly it halts progress to a crawl.
That said, ORAS is by far my favorite remake. It's faithful to the original, polished to a more modern standard and improved on the best battle gimmick in recent years, mega evolution. Just don't forget to bring your max repels
