Re: Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter Continues Estelle's Journey In Fall 2026

I haven't played the Trails series yet but I'm always amazed by how far the anime visuals have come.
From the older days of N64 and GCN FE Path of Radiance, I remember being blown away by the Radiant Dawn anime cutscenes how much they looked like the 2D art.
I think Falcom is in the forefront of said graphics

@billychaos I don't want to get down and gloomy on my video games news site's comment sections but the only reasoning I make of it is profit. Stone cold cash. Unlike humans, a machine does not need a salary, it doesn't need to look out for its health and cultivate family and friends. It doesn't ask for benefits, it can work 24/7, it won't go on strike if conditions are subpar. These companies want AI to reach the levels of human finesse so they can have unpaid slaves that won't make them look bad in the public's eyes (aside from huge layoffs)

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Mega Dimension DLC Scores December Release Date

Personally, I'm interested in the DLC. The idea that you would have to survey an alien area (even if it's a gray scale carbon copy of actual Lumiose with different paths) against insurmountable enemies (level 140-160) that requires you acquiring items (berries) to craft upgrades (eat donuts) so you can fight them on equal level gives me this survival exploration vibes. If done correctly, it could be slow and gradual and be very fun. Or they could fumble it and it becomes very mechanic and easy. I want to stay positive, though

@TomSupreme I mean that only as a joke as I despise the idea of that advancements in AI technology eating away on creative jobs, but it's been a few years now all these "lower costs, max profits"-led-by-investors companies have been releasing broken games and using early adopters as QA. I'd welcome them replacing the consumer as their QA testers

As long as IA works as a tool to automate mind numbing chores the actual human QA tester had to do over and over on different milliseconds to try and trigger a bug, I can see that.
Being ignorant on machine learning models myself, though, I can't see a way to leave a program trying to force bugs out of another program. Sounds like a bunch of buzzwords to me

Re: Poll: Is The Latest Metroid Prime 4 Trailer Teasing Another Legacy Character?

@CupidStunt I'm usually of the same opinion but I also think there are only so many unique stories you can tell using the same setup. Sometimes throwing other characters around helps to flesh out the world lore better.
That said, my favorite part of the Metroid games is the feeling of isolation and constant interactions with other characters often diminish that sentiment
