Edit: Personally, the mid stage evolution of every starter looks like the awkward teenage years but I still think Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartotle and a handful of others look cool. Now, how come only Prinplup didn't get any votes?
I wonder how will they handle the mainline games' gimmicks. Will you be able use mega evolution (a given by the marketing pictures), Z moves, gigantamax and terastal in the same fight? Will there be seasonal rules for which gimmicks are usable? There is a lot of potential in here
As long as the physical game is in the cart instead of a gkc I can understand the decision. There is no reason to offload the physical prices on the digital consumer since the latter cost times less to "produce"
@squiddu-real I think* it's been advertised like that when it was released. Boost mode supposedly turns your handheld mode in TV mode despite still being used in handheld. It should turn off touchscreen and other handheld-only functions. *I could be misremembering, though
@N00BiSH last time I checked they killed support for the first game that made them popular and then released Angry Birds 2 which is the same game except it's riddled microtransactions, energy currencies, season passes, pop-up ads and timed events
@KayFiOS I wish they reported on Kirby Air Riders events too, I've been missing them ever since the christmas one as I don't get in the game as often anymore
Good Arceus, it doesn't even contain the base game... It's a literal plastic box with a piece of paper so you can buy the very same product available on the eshop...
It can't be that Nintendo is so clueless about physical gamers wanting the actual game and not an empty box to stuff in our shelves
I've always loved her acting as the princess of the Wilds. That said, I don't mind if different Zeldas have different voice actors, or maybe she has a good range to make different voices. I couldn't imagine this one working for Skyward Sword or OoT Zelda
This one was hard. I like the dynamism of NA cover but I enjoy the stock art for the other charactes in EU/JP.
It's always a treat to have Nintendo characters drawn in the style of Gen Kobayashi
As a successful game from an indie developer it's easy to see how such delay (if not outright scam) might have missed momentum and caused undue and considerable financial loss. I wish the dev the best and if the physical version ever materializes I will be double dipping in support of their decision
I wasn't going to pick this up from the get go but once more the Demo sold me. While I very much enjoyed MHS2 being more of the same, it's a welcome breath of fresh air the changes they did with this one
That was probably the whole point with the Dexit in SwSh. No, I don't think they should retire any old pokemon forever, but they should limit our options of 'mons at least in early game.
I've been reminiscing what made the early games special to me and one thing I miss a lot is the lack of options. Pokemon Red/Blue pitches you against Brock when all the pokemon you could possibly have only know normal, flying and poison attacks. I came back to the series with XY and ever since I've felt like you're given more pokes than slots in your team. Before the first gym leader you can have fairy, electric and psychic type, maybe even fighting and ground type to make sure you're never out of cover ups. I'd like to feel helpless like I felt pitching Metapod against Brock's Onyx again
I hope it gets the attention it deserves, it really looks like a game crafted with passion. But let's just remind ourselves game scoring is under a fair dose of subjectivity. 1 or 2 points of difference on metacritic isn't the end all of every argument
@PushMyGran86 When I first got my ps5 it happened the same with me, I just kept playing the Switch. But little by little I found games that either were cheaper on the psStore, or they benefit from a little extra power, or just didn't need to be portable. Currently I could say I spend almost 50:50 time on each console, despite my Switch library being almost ten times larger
Completely agree that other consoles, not only the Steam deck, often complement each other. Entry price is one thing for sure but there is no gaming machine to rule them all (no, not even PC)
I wish gimmicks like these were more readily available in all places Nintendo deals with. My official regional Nintendo page feigns ignorance on anything related to the VB
That was way more straightforward and frank for a Nintendo FAQ than I was expecting, so there is at least that. Yeah, I can't shake the feeling that money was the reason they handled it the way they did but I also appreciate the opportunity to buy the game instead of renting it. No online is probably the reason I won't be getting it any time soon, though
HOLD IT! Crewmate Blue was with me all the time fixing the sabotage. If they really were the imposter they had ample opportunity to murder me and didn't do it!
And I just started playing The Great Ace Attorney yesterday. Talk about timing
@Kilamanjaro https://www.digitalemelas.com has a very dedicated team to explaning everything Ys and a good place to check the timeline. They can go a little too deep sometimes but it's my go to for reference
I'm all for turning mobile gacha games into proper console versions. I've been curious about this game before but not curious enough to bite the gacha daily grind bait.
I can only dream they give Dragalia Lost this same treatment
They definitely don't look like pokemon at all and I always thought that was deliberate. Very interesting backstory that they were born from rejected designs, makes a lot of sense
@LastFootnote Right? If each stage in Mario Bros was 2 hours long I wouldn't mind them cutting a few worlds out.
I've played the 3DS version of DQ7 and while many directing choices had a good reasoning to be it's undeniable that it's tiring on the long run. I've enjoyed the slow beginning (which I've been told it was even slower on the ps1) but after 80 hours in you start questioning if the game has a pacing problem
As someone who put hours into Dragon Quest Builders I feel like this is right up my alley but if I'm being honest I'm still trying to stomach the pricing, for GKC no less. Too bad Pokemon games never go on sale.
Still, props to them for making pre order bonuses obtainable ingame. This is the way

@Mr_Persona in ScaVi and Legends ZA the protagonist has a Rotom possessed cell phone to which they hang onto when falling from high places

@abbyhitter the girl has it in her backpack too. I'm guessing it's a safety fall helicopter thing instead of a flying phone
