Re: Splatoon's Next New Weapon is the Heavy Splatling Deco

Blue_Blur

@Jazzer94 You know, that is actually a very good point! I don't really use either weapon, but when I tried out the heavy splatling, I didn't like it at all. I forgot that the ttk and octo shots have the same sub and special as the mini splatling... I don't really see the point now, either! lol If I had to use a splatling, I would still definitely choose mini, though.

Re: Sprixie Joins the Ranks in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

Blue_Blur

@Travisty3 Well, it kinda depends on which character we're talking about. My favorite Mario characters are generic characters: Luigi and Shy Guy. I don't mind non-generic characters joining the roster, I've just never liked Sprixie. I'm really okay with many playable characters, I just wish they put the generic characters into the game first, and then focused on adding others.

In short, I'm fine with both generic and non-generic characters, as long as Luigi is in the game. I just really don't like Sprixie at all. If this article was about almost any other Mario character, I would've been find with it; I'm just not a fan of Sprixie.

Re: SEGA Posts Financial Results, Sales are Down and Profits are up

Blue_Blur

Live and Learn really sums this article up nicely. As long as Sonic continues to keep "hangin' on the edge of tomorrow", and have more games, I'll be happy. I don't think they'll stop making games anytime soon, especially now that they have apologized and said they're going to improve the quality of the games for now on. To me that shows they're dedicated and want to keep making more Sonic games.

Re: Sega: Recent Sonic Games Haven't Been "Acceptable", Looking To Replicate The Past In Future Outings

Blue_Blur

I love love Sonic, so it's good to see that SEGA is still focusing on him a lot. I grew up with 3D Sonic, and prefer those games much over the 2D Sonic games. As long as they are still making Sonic games, I'll be happy, but I hope this isn't the end of the 3D ones! (Especially Heroes, Riders, and Unleashed formats) I'm hoping for Sonic Adventure 3, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Details Revealed, Including amiibo Support and Rosalina

Blue_Blur

@NintyMan The only green character I can think of is Spike. He's playable in Mario Party 10, so it's possible. I'm not sure how many people would actually want Spike instead of Diddy or Bowser Jr... the more I think about it, I hope it's not Spike! They should get more of the "main" Mario characters in the game before going for the more minor ones. I LOVE Shy Guy though, so I hope your prediction for the red block is right!

Re: Next Splatoon Patch Drops October 20th, Rapid Blaster Pro Arrives Tomorrow

Blue_Blur

Yay, I'm glad they're making all of these adjustments. This will only make the game more fun! I'm curious to see all of the new stage adjustments. I wonder if it means small adjustments, or getting rid of some of those gray boxes that allow shortcuts to reach certain places you're not able to in some modes, like turf war. Either way, it will help make the game better, so I'm all for it!

Re: Best Buy Opens Pre-Orders for Falco's amiibo Release in North America

Blue_Blur

Pre-Ordered! So happy! Falco was the last Amiibo that I really wanted! ...until Roy is released. The only other Amiibo that I'm still considering is Bowser Jr. I would like him, I just don't want to pay extra. If I even see him, I'll be sure to get it! Falco is more important to me, though, so I'm glad I got a pre-order.

Re: Takashi Tezuka Gives His Opinion on Hard Levels Made with Super Mario Maker

Blue_Blur

@Captain_Gonru: Yeah, I think my levels are quite easy; I never try to make almost impossible ones. I've also noticed most of the deaths in my levels are towards the beginning, which infers that some people do what you said: try it once, and skip it.

@Rocky2418: I'd say I'm in the middle. I give a level a fair amount of tires, but if I still can't beat it after a while, I eventually skip it. Not skipping a level is quite impressive, though! Especially with how many levels you have played!

Re: Takashi Tezuka Gives His Opinion on Hard Levels Made with Super Mario Maker

Blue_Blur

@NintyMan YES! I hope so; I'm so tired of the NSMB series!

Back on topic, it is hard to create a level that is truly the difficulty you set it as. A lot of levels I make I don't find too hard, but after I upload them, I only see around an 20% completion rate. You don't think knowing all of the secrets of the level matters that much, but I guess it really does.

If I think I made a level too hard, it's nice how it shows you where people die, so you can improve on your next level. I wish it showed the sub-levels, too. All deaths don't appear on the main level!

The best part about Mario Maker is all of the ideas that people have. Like that "Can't grab a mushroom" one, it was a really neat idea! Levels don't have to be hard to be fun, only a good idea is needed.

Re: It's Cats Against Dogs in the Next European Splatfest

Blue_Blur

Good luck to Team Cats! It was really close in North America, where Dogs won popularity, and Cats won the most matches. Dogs ended up winning. I was on team Cats, and I felt that it was kinda unfair that Dogs won based on popularity (this was before they changed the Splatfest calculation results). I feel like after the change in calculations, Cats should've won. Oh well, now that the results are more fair, Team Cats have another chance at winning! Go Team Cats!!!

Re: Sonic Lost World's Wii U Exclusivity Ends With Budget PC Release

Blue_Blur

If anyone's thinking about getting this game, it's worth it! It's really fun and has a great level of difficulty. I prefer the Wii U version, but the 3DS version isn't bad either. The time attacks trying to get all S ranks is challenging, but completely doable. The Wall Running mechanic is also really cool, there are so many different paths to explore with this feature!

Re: Miyamoto and Tezuka Discuss the Difficulties of Balancing Games for Players of All Skill Levels

Blue_Blur

@aaronsullivan
That is a good point... I guess I was thinking from the perspective of a experienced player that knows what the expect with difficulties.

Separate paths are a really good idea... the only drawback I could really think of is if someone wants to explore the entire level, they would have to replay the same stage again; it would be a little different, but it's still the same stage. I hate it when games have multiple paths, and have secrets or treasures you need to find in order to 100% it, like stamps in 3D World, on both paths. Your idea would work really well if the advanced path had the treasure you needed most of the time. Like you said though, it's different for every game. In most cases, your idea works better than mine, and is probably the best answer for everyone to enjoy the game.

Re: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Will Support 18 amiibo Figures

Blue_Blur

@Dpishere I loved TTYD too, but I still prefer the Mario and Luigi series. We're getting the best of both worlds; I'm looking forward to this game!

I have four out of the 18 Amiibo. Two of those, however, are Luigi. I doubt each Luigi will do something different, so I guess I only have three compatible Amiibo's. I wonder what they'll do...

Re: Splatoon 'Octoling' Modder Could Cause Save Data Problems

Blue_Blur

Since it's only one person, that means that squad battles are most likely safe, right? If I understand correctly, the last players you played with load in Booyah Base after you quit the lobby. And obviously, your squad partner or partners would be in Booyah Base when you quit. So, the chances that the hacker is playing with someone else is almost zero, since I don't think the other player would want his/her save data to be erased.

Re: Preview: Fabulous Fashion and Questionable Game Design in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

Blue_Blur

Right after the E3 trailer finished for this game, I knew I didn't want for many reasons. Needing 1 or 3 players was weird to me, I wish you could only play with one other friend. The totem mechanic seems really boring to me, too. The player in the middle doesn't have anything to do. Most of the puzzles I've seen in the game always need three players, but one player is always left waiting while the others finish the puzzle. Also, from playing lots of Splatoon online, I've learned you can't always depend on others to understand what to do. That would be a huge flaw with this game; and if you're sharing hearts, that's even worse.

Of course, I don't want this game to be bad. However, from what I've seen, I don't think it's going to get a great score like most other Zelda games. We'll have to see, but I'm not getting this game... to many reasons against it for me to get it.

Re: Nintendo Hammers Out A New Update For Super Mario Maker

Blue_Blur

The one thing that I really want in an update for Mario Maker is checkpoints. I hate it when you're so close to completing a level, and then die. It takes forever to get back to where you were, and a lot of times, I don't retry it since it would take too long. I feel like the completion rate of levels would skyrocket with checkpoints. This would lead to more stars most likely, too.
