It's time for more Nintendo Download Update goodness, and this week gamers in North America have a high-profile retail arrival on 3DS to consider alongside a long-awaited dual release on the portable and Wii U. There are some promising download-only games on offer too, so let's get to the details.

Missed the European Nintendo Download update earlier in the week? Darn. Well, don't fret, the details are all right here - now with the correct date after we bizarrely gave it a headline for 6th November earlier in the week...

Wii U eShop

Electronic Super Joy (Broken Rules, $7.99) - The predecessor to Electronic Super Joy: Groove City, which was released in North America by a different publisher, this version includes extras and DLC from the PC original. It's precision platforming that's also extremely stylish in its presentation, and we gave it a strong recommendation in our Electronic Super Joy review.

Christmas Adventure of Rocket Penguin (Petite Games, $1.99) - In concept this looks like a budget version of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, as you draw a route for your character using the GamePad and stylus. We'll slide into a review for this soon.

Wii U Virtual Console

Stinger (Konami, $4.99) - This was actually the first sequel to the original Twinbee, but was renamed for its NES release in North America way back in 1987. You fly and shoot, basically, and as this never got a Wii Virtual Console release in the West it's a bit of a rare treat; we'll blast out a review soon. This was listed in Nintendo of America's press release as a 3DS Virtual Console title, but as a Wii U release on its website. Following the update showing this on Wii U we updated this article.

Wii U Retail Download

Rodea the Sky Soldier (NIS America, $49.99) - After a long time waiting this Yuji Naka title - or at least it was in its original guise - is finally on the way. It's been delayed a few times and was a commercial flop in Japan, yet we had fun with it when we got to play it earlier in the year. Available from 10th November.

The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Activision, $39.99)

Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts

Nano Assault Neo (Shin'en Multimedia, $7.49 until 26th November, normally $9.99)

SDK Paint (HullBreach Studios, $2.99 from 6th November to 13th November, normally $3.99)

3DS eShop

Toki Tori 3D (Two Tribes, $1.99) - A puzzle title that's been popular on multiple formats over the years, this entry has been ported by Engine Software. There's a 'rewind' feature and item swapping on the touch screen, so this could potentially be a particularly strong version of the game; we'll hatch out and bring you a review soon.

3DS Retail Downloads

Yo-Kai Watch (Nintendo / Level-5, $39.99) - This series has become a phenomenon in Japan, with the anime series, toys and various spin-off games all contributing to its success. It'll now try and repeat the trick in North America, with its twist on battle mechanics and collecting Yo-Kai raising similarities to Pokémon while, undoubtedly, forging its own identity. We rather enjoyed our hands-on session with it earlier this year and will bring you a review soon. Available from 6th November.

Rodea the Sky Soldier (NIS America, $39.99) - The portable version of this title could provide a nice alternative for those seeking fast-paced action on the go. Available from 10th November.

The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Activision, $29.99)

3DS eShop Temporary Discounts

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker (Atlus, $29.99 from 9th November to 23rd November, normally $39.99)

Siesta Fiesta (Mojo Bones, $1.49 until 12th November, normally $5.99)

The Keep (Cinemax, $7.99 until 18th November, normally $12.99)

3DS Demos

Battleminer (Wobbly Tooth, free)
