Re: Video: The 21 Best GameCube Games Money Can Buy

Blue_Blur

When I think of my favorite games of all time, most of them are still Gamecube titles. Maybe because I grew up with the Gamecube, but I more think that it's because the Gamecube just had a lot of awesome games! XD From Double Dash, Luigi's Mansion, Kirby Air Ride, Sunshine, many Sonic titles, Monkey Ball, Skies of Arcadia, Billy Hatcher, Paper Mario TTYD, Mario Parties... I could go on and on!

I certainly hope we see Gamecube VC on the Switch (the sooner the better!), but I'm also hoping for some sequels someday! Sunshine 2 or Kirby Air Ride 2, anyone?

Re: Nintendo Switch Is The Fastest Selling Console In US History With 4.8 Million Units Sold

Very impressive! I got BOTW on Wii U and waited to get a Switch for MK8D. I don't regret waiting, as BOTW didn't turn out to be my favorite game anyway, but I'm glad I didn't wait much longer. I knew the Switch would be worth it for me with Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Sonic alone, and that's just the first year! Can't wait to see how 2018 goes... really hoping for Animal Crossing!

Re: Poll: Surprise! A New Zelda Is In Development, But What Do You Want From It?

Blue_Blur

To be honest, I got tired of exploring and doing the shrines pretty quick. I know I'm in the minority, but it's nice to see that I'm not the only one who feels this way in the comments. I am glad that most people seemed to enjoy exploring the world, however. I'll probably get back to it someday, as I didn't hate it, but not for a while.

As for the next game, I'm completely fine with another open world, but I personally hope that the world is smaller, with more of a focus on story and dungeons. Even if their are no shrines, I'd much rather have far fewer good dungeons than a bunch of quick shrines. I certainly wouldn't mind another classic 3D Zelda, either.

I'll try the new game no matter what it turns out to be, as I'm confident that Nintendo will learn from the feedback of BOTW, and make the next one even better.

Re: Octodad: Dadliest Catch is Inked In for a Switch Release

Blue_Blur

@Fred13 I haven't played Snake Pass, but from what gameplay I've seen, it reminds me a lot of Octodad. The controls are terrible on purpose, and that's what makes it fun! The story takes more than a few hours to complete, plus there are achievements and collectibles if you want to go for 100% completion. Definitely worth getting in my opinion. I'm not exactly sure what was wrong with the Wii U version, but when I got it around a year ago, it worked fine; I assume the Switch version will be fine, as well.

Re: Introducing Uka, A Weaponised Life Form In Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Blue_Blur

It's going to take me a while to stop saying "Uka Uka" since I'm so used to saying it twice with Crash! lol I don't like her design, though.

Still not too hyped about this game, unfortunately. I enjoyed what I played of Xenoblade, and X is of my favorite games, but I'm still not sure about this one. I'll probably end up getting it at a later time, but honestly I was expecting to be real hyped for it and get it day one, but that just isn't the case...

Re: North America Gets a Neat Halloween-Themed Splatoon 2 Splatfest

Blue_Blur

@Whopper744 Nice to see another Sonic fan! Unleashed is actually my favorite Sonic game, so it was a really easy choice for me. I love how it offers a lot of variety like you said, and that's also a main reason as to why I love the Sonic series so much. While I liked and enjoyed the Werehog stages, I can understand why they weren't too popular. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them return someday though, hopefully with some of the level issues fixed.

Good luck in the Splatfest!

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (3DS)

Blue_Blur

As much as I love the M&L series, I'll be skipping this one, for now at least. I played Superstar Saga for the first time rather recently on the Wii U, so it's still too early for me to want to play through it again. It wasn't my favorite title in the series either, so it's not as tempting for me to get as if it was Partners or Inside Story instead. The Bowser's Minions part is tempting, but still not enough for me to get it at the moment.

Glad to see it get a good score, as it gives me hope for a new M&L title in the future.

Re: Nintendo Aims to Flush Out the Best Players in the Next Splatoon 2 Splatfest

Blue_Blur

Wow, I thought some of the themes couldn't get much worse, but I was proven wrong. XD It will likely be the same theme for NA, but I was hoping for a Halloween theme. I guess there's still a small chance for there to be one closer to Halloween itself, but the Splatfests seem to be about a month apart, so my hopes aren't that high. Oh well, at least I get to be on Pearl's team again!

Re: Nintendo is Now 128 Years Old

Blue_Blur

Happy Birthday, Nintendo! The first games I played were Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt and Mario Bros. 3 on my parent's NES when I was four, and I immediately fell in love. That was right around when the Gamecube released, and my parents decided to get one for me and my brother. Needless to say, this changed my life. I have many great memories of playing Mario Party 4, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2... they're still some of my favorite games to this day! Can't thank Nintendo enough for giving me all these great childhood memories, and for still making great games and systems that I love! Looking forward to the future, with hopefully Luigi's Mansion 3 sooner rather than later!

Re: Poll: Six Months of the Switch - What Do You Think of Nintendo's Console Hybrid?

Blue_Blur

I think the Switch is a great system, and it's game library is pretty good so far. It already has games from my favorite series (Sonic, Splatoon, Mario Kart), and I love how there's a good variety of games. Plus, there's a lot more coming in the near future to look forward to, like Forces, Xenoblade2, and Odyssey. And to be honest, I haven't even really explored what the eShop has to offer besides Sonic Mania, since I already have so many games I'm currently playing. Still, I should probably get to that... I blame Splatoon.

Re: Soapbox: Playing Super Mario Sunshine Today Painfully Illustrates Nintendo's 3D Evolution

Blue_Blur

I LOVE Sunshine! It's one of my favorite games of all time... I have even 100%ed it twice! The game isn't perfect and is definitely frustrating at times, but overall I still think it's a fantastic game. I would buy a remake of this day one for sure... I know this wouldn't happen, but adding the option to play as Luigi would be amazing! I would also love to see a sequel someday!

Re: Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack Is Getting a Physical Release

Blue_Blur

I'll pass on this since I already have both games. But for anyone who hasn't played Gunvolt yet, I highly recommend getting this! Both games are challenging, yet fair, and the story is really interesting throughout both. The gameplay is really fun, and there is a lot of replay value going for high scores.

I hope there is a Gunvolt 3 very soon! Day one buy for me already.

Re: Review: Sonic Mania (Switch eShop)

Blue_Blur

My Collector's Edition finally came today! The wait yesterday was tough, especially with seeing a lot of my friends already playing it. lol At least I had Splatoon to keep my occupied.

It was definitely worth the wait, though, as I'm loving every minute of it! Glad to see it get a great score - very well deserved!!
