Re: Video: Daring Toads Come To The Rescue In Paper Mario: Color Splash

Blue_Blur

Now if only Luigi got that kind of recognition!

In all seriousness though, this trailer alone made this game look MUCH more promising to me. New characters, (even if they are still just Toads), and it's going to be nice for a change to actually have some Toads help instead of needed to be saved! I'm still on the fence about getting this game, but I see potential, and I am willing to remain optimistic about it.

Re: Poll: How Excited Are You About Pokémon Sun and Moon?

Blue_Blur

Neither game for me as of now. I find it weird that I'm not excited for Sun and Moon, though. I've enjoyed most of the GBA and DS games, and liked X quite a bit, even though I didn't like the Mega Evolutions. I just couldn't get into Alpha Sapphire, and now Sun and Moon doesn't even look very fun to me. Guess I'm just out of Pokemon...

Even though it doesn't look very fun to me, I can definitely see the appeal of this game, and I hope the expectations for the games don't disappoint! I love the idea of Hyper Training! A big step up from Super Training... hated the controls for that!

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Blast Ball (3DS)

Blue_Blur

@MitchVogel: Yeah, hopefully it won't cost too much! I did hear that it would be a standalone game as well, but I'm probably still going to pass on it, unless it happens to be at a really good price. Blast Ball is fun, but at the same time, I can definitely live without it.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Blast Ball (3DS)

Blue_Blur

I pretty much agree with the review. I'm not a fan of the physics, the controls, and some of the power-ups. However, I will admit it's still quite fun even with all those drawbacks. Unlocking skins for your mech is neat, but mine will always be Luigi-themed. So while I do agree the game is quite fun, it's not enough to make me want the entire game.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th August (North America)

Blue_Blur

Nothing for me this week, but I'm glad to see Mario Sports Mix on there! Very good sports game, imo. I love the dodgeball and that music minigame! I also liked a lot of the character's animations; they really showed off their personalities... especially Luigi! XD

Re: Video: New Metroid Prime: Federation Force Trailer Arrives, and It's Still Fighting Dislikes

Blue_Blur

I won't be getting this game, as it wasn't that fun to me. I can see where others really like this game, though, but at the same time, I can understand the complaints it's been getting.

If Nintendo were to announce that a non-spin-off Metroid game was on the way, I think people would begin to like Federation Force for what it is, since they wouldn't have to worry about the future of the Metroid series. Without the clarification that Metroid will return to how it used to be after the spin-off, I can understand why Metroid fans are upset. I hope Nintendo has better plans for Metroid in the future. Even though I'm not a big fan of Metroid, I agree a non-spin-off Metroid game is long overdue.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force is Now Available to Pre-load in North America

Blue_Blur

Even though I was a bit disappointed with Dark Moon, I still think Next Level Games is a really good developer (loved Mario Strikers Charged!), and has the potential to make Federation Force a good game. Blast Ball was actually much better than I expected it to be, and I found it to be pretty fun. I'm not a big fan of Metroid though, so I'll pass on this game. Even though I won't be getting it myself, I hope that those who do get it enjoy it!

Re: Talking Point: Splatoon May Be Winding Down, But Its Legacy Could Be Significant

Blue_Blur

Splatoon is such a wonderful game, and the updates only made it better! I've played it for so many hours! I haven't played it in quite some time though, and with a bunch of new games coming out, I probably won't be playing Splatoon again anytime soon.

I also did a lot of squads with people here on NL, and it was really fun! We all made a really good team, using different weapons, covering all sides of the map, sometimes using the same gear (@Pikmin22) , and of course, all the "Booyah!"'s!

Re: Poll: As The amiibo Collection Hits 100, What's The Current State of Play?

Blue_Blur

I've always gotten amiibos just for the figure themselves. It's so nice to finally be able to display some of my favorite characters- super glad the amiibos have great detail!

The game functionality is just a nice bonus to me. I wish the amiibos did a little more in some games, like Hyrule Warriors, but unlocking a costume in MK8 or Super Mario Maker is good enough for me. I'm never really going to expect amiibos to do much more than unlock a costume or give out item bonuses, but being able to use Wolf Link as a partner in BotW surprised me, and is one of the greatest uses of amiibo so far, in my opinion, so hopefully that kind of amiibo functionality will continue in future games.

I still think Nintendo missed a big opportunity with amiibo for Splatoon. How awesome would it be to get character-related gear! Like Luigi's hat, Link's boots, Fox's jacket, etc.

Re: Mii Characters Evolved From a Project Called "Women's Fortune Telling Pocket Notebook"

Blue_Blur

I've never been a fan of Mii's. Whenever given the the option to be a video game character or my Mii, I always choose the game character.

At the same time, though, it's nice from them to be included in games for people who like to be their Mii. If Mii's are really here to stay, (which it looks like they are), I hope there will eventually be more design options. It would be awesome if Mii's eventually get the same amount of options as in Xenoblade X!

Re: Review: Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)

Blue_Blur

@Mister_Wu: Seriously!? Thanks for the tip! Do you know exactly how long you have to play to unlock Team Mario and Team Sonic for tournaments? I really want to play as Luigi and Silver as soon as possible!

And I completely agree with you and @memoryman3. I think this is the best entry to the series so far.

Re: Review: Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)

Blue_Blur

The game's much better than a 5, in my opinion. I'm really enjoying it so far. The graphics are great, and I find the events to be really fun. The CPU's can be challenging, as well. As for the controls, I'm happy that each event can be played with the Gamepad. It was quite annoying in Sochi, to have to switch between the Wii Remote and Gamepad all the time. I can honestly say that I don't miss motion controls, and I'm content with always using the Gamepad.

I wish the guest characters could play in more than one event, but I'm just happy they're in the game. The guest characters are just like in the 3DS version, so if anything, the Wii U version has more character variety, since all the characters from Vancouver onward are now playable in every event.

My biggest con with the game is that the tournaments must be played with your Mii. I bought Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympics to be Mario and Sonic characters!

But other than those two negatives, I'm real happy with the game. Sad to see it get a low score, but I'm glad I'm still enjoying it.

Re: Anniversary: Sonic the Hedgehog is Now 25 Years Old

Blue_Blur

Happy Birthday Sonic!

Ever since I played my first Sonic game (Riders), Sonic has always been my favorite video game series. Sonic was a huge part of my childhood, and I have so many wonderful memories! I hope the new game will be great, along with Fire & Ice. Keep on running!

@Trinexx: Heh, it would be weird if I didn't comment on this article! XD It's no secret that I love Sonic! And thanks for the tip about the Red Star Rings; I'll be sure to do that!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 2016?

Blue_Blur

Before the second day, I was a little worried since it was all Zelda all the time. Now, that's not a bad thing, but I was for sure hoping for some more surprises, since it was E3 after all! Now that everything has been revealed, I am quite happy with Nintendo's Presentation overall.

I'm a little disappointed that there was no MK8 DLC, the NA eshop "Massive" sale was a bit of a letdown, and Color Splash doesn't look too fun to me...

On the other hand though, Zelda looks AMAZING, MP: Star Rush looks very promising to me, Shantae is coming to Runbow, and Rhythm Heaven looks as fun as ever!

So overall, I feel like this E3 was pretty good. Not the best, but not the worst either. Well done, Nintendo.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 2016 Summary

Blue_Blur

It was much better than I expected it to be, but it wasn't my favorite E3 either.

I was really hoping for some MK8 DLC (that Tweet with Toad and Wario gave me hope for more DLC), but it looks like that's not the case. Besides Zelda, I'm now interested in MP: Star Rush and Rhythm Heaven as well. And even though it's not Nintendo related... I'm super happy that CRASH IS BACK!!!
