It's that time again, amiibo hunters, as you scramble to grab the latest amiibo for your collection. This one's for North American gamers, in particular, as Best Buy has launched pre-orders for Falco, which is exclusive to the retailer.
You can see the tweet below and you need to head to this product page if you want one.
There's a limit of one per customer and, at the time of writing, pre-orders are still open. It won't actually be available to pick up from your nearest store until 20th November.
Are you going to try and get hold of one of these amiibo? Here's hoping that recent improvements in stock carry on with this one.

He's actually kind of cool looking.
So how many more SSB amibo are there still yet to come of the original line-up? I'm curious to see what happens after Smash is completed.
Thank you!
Done and done!
Got it yeah!!!!
@rjejr This is the last one of the original cast (not including DLC characters).
@Zach777 They saved Falco for last? Didn't think he was that big.
Well I guess they have all those AC amiibo lined up for the time being, but I suppose they'll need to announce a new line soon then. MK amiibo in karts? Pokemon? Nindies? Guess that's yet another reason for a new Ntinedo Direct, what follows up the SSB amiibo?
@DarthNocturnal "Lucas, Roy and Ryu are set for 2016"
But that' still only the first few months no? Don't you think they need another line, like Mario or AC? Are there enough established characters in AC to keep that line going for another year, need another 30 or so to keep up the current pace.
I've had this question since the beginning, even mentioned it a few times at launch, but hadn't brought it up again since the SSB line was taking so long to complete. Skyalnders makes new guys every year, Disney owns the world, Lego licenses everything, Nintneod is fairly limited in the IP dept. Maybe sign a deal w/ Capcom or Sega or Konami? I still want a DBZ line and game. DBZXenoverse amiibo exclusive on Wii U would be nice.
OK, DBZ is out there, but they need to announce something, don't you think? The amiibo junkies need their future fix.
Pre-ordered. Thanks for the tip.
@rjejr: I'm sure they've already got plans for the next big wave of Amiibo. Nintendo would be pretty foolish not to have a plan going forward for what is currently their largest income generator.
@rjejr
they can always just release amiibo for every new game release. Federation force amiibo, starfox zero amiibo, Zelda U amiibo, maybe a hyrule warriors line to go with legends? They can just keep making new editions of the same characters, like how the smb line is mostly repeats of the smash line
Thanks for the heads up!
Just pre-ordered mine!
Can't wait for Star Fox Zero!!!
I'm positive there will be Slippy, Peppy, and Arwing amiibo. There might even be a line of Sonic amiibo...
@khaosklub - "like how the smb line is mostly repeats of the smash line"
I've also noticed over the past few months that the SMB line are the amiibo most likely to be in stock, which has me thinking that people weren't as quick to purchase reskins as original characters. But you could be right, it is an option.They've already done Yarn Yoshi and 8 bit Mario, lots of ways to go w/ the same characters. Those 715 Pokemon have to be calling out from the depths of Nintendo HQ though - "build us and they will buy". Maybe for Tokken Torunament on Wii U? I forgot about that game earlier.
@rferrari24 Can I get a Tricky and Krystal? OK, maybe not Tricky, but Krystal could look really nice. Why haven't her and her fighting staff been in SSB yet?
This looks like the makings of a cool amiibo to me.
In regards to the SMB line, let's not forget that Donkey Kong, Wario and Rosalina are pretty much confirmed to be coming soon...
http://nintendoenthusiast.com/news/donkey-kong-wario-rosalina-mario-series-amiibo-edging-closer-to-reality/
@MikeW I wonder if they scrapped those amiibo
@DarthNocturnal I could go for some Monster Hunter amiibo..."
Everybody loves little adorable cat people. And cha cha. I like that idea. Especially since the game - I believe at least - helps 3DS sales.
@yaryah21 @MikeW Appreciate the link, always good to have, but I have to agree an 8 month old Feb announcement is less than inspiring.
Cool, thanks. This will be one of my last ones. I don't know why I even collect as many as I have.
@WaxxyOne Well I'm sure they have plans, they always have plans, but following thru on those plans seems to be an issue - see TVii in the EU. Or Dual Gamepad support. Or Gamecube VC.
I'm also beginning ot wonder if anyone is steering the ship, or perhaps a better cliche is - too many chefs stirring the pot. Maybe somebody wants tokeep doing Mario reskins, somebody else wants Pokemon, somebody else 3rd party, somebody else Nindies. W/o a Nintneod Direct it feel sliek Nintnedo is trying to figure stuff out. Like when to do a Wii U price cut an dfo rhow much.O rwhen to release th eNX.
So yes, I'm sure they knew the SSB line would end and had a plan for amiibo going forward, but I would like to know what that plan is. It will probably even be a Talking Point once Falco comes out to finish off the line.
@rjejr Agreed.I really want a Plague Knight amiibo
@rjejr
I think they saved Falco for the end because Star Fox Zero... But we all know how that wound up.
This is the amiibo I've waited for since they announced that these toys are a thing. Finally I'll get it!
I'm done jumpin' thru hoops for these things.
@bezerker99
"Done jumping through hoops"
Falco is available right now. Clicking a link, adding to cart and selecting purchase doesn't exactly strike me as jumping through a hoop, but ok.
Ahh Falco, My least favorite character. You will not sully my collection, you rogue.
Got him! Ahhh, the sweet smell of success.
@JaxonH
I was going to inform you, but alas, you've already known for a while now, lol.
@MoonKnight7
Appreciate it, but ya I ordered as soon as the monitor alert went off for the listing going live.
Gotta be on it! Tom Nook and Mabel went live on B&H Photo earlier too. Prob not still available but you can check if you're interested.
@JaxonH
Well thanks for the tip, but I'm not interested in the Animal Crossing ones. I think I'm pretty much done after Smash. From this point on, I'm just getting the ones I find interesting, Shovel Knight, Green Yarn Yoshi, etc.
I appreciate it though.
Awesome, thanks for the tip! I was worried I wouldn't be able get Falco, now I've got him pre-ordered.
Everybody loves retail exclusives... not. Maybe in the future Nintendo should give amiibo license to third parties in addition to their own IP, like the Skylanders and Shovel knight or Nendoroid models with NFC.
@rjejr We know of a few possible Amiibo in the works from articles with discussions with Miyamoto and others. Miyamoto had confirmed that his hope would be for a transforming Arwing Amiibo. But then I find it interesting how that and several other Amiibo are featured in Super Mario Maker. The extended line of Animal Crossing Amiibo were in that game prior to their announcement. And so the Arwing, a Mario Kart, Wii Fit Board, Mahjong tile, and a few others are also shown which questions which if any of these will get the Amiibo treatment.
Oh, right, another example of "exclusively at our stores". Not a fan. Thankfully this doesn't happen in Italy.
I'm still catching up from the restocks and these new ones are all coming out way to fast for my wallet to catch up. I got this one since its exclusive, and I'll get the Mii fighters and AC festival and that will have to be it till February to let my wallet breathe a little. Especially since I'm also getting the Xenoblade special edition.
For as many flaws as retailer exclusivity carries, it's not all bad. As someone who's been following amiibo news constantly since a little bit before Wave 4, I've noticed that exclusives often have excellent stock. My Target had twice as many Jigglypuff as anything else during the Wave 4 release, while my Toys R Us had around 80 Greninja according to my brother. That's been consistent with the other waves since then, as well. I personally won't be going for Falco, but I'm sure he'll have the stock to make up for being a retail exclusive.
YES! Managed to pre-order it successfully! Now hopefully it doesn't get canceled...
@DarthNocturnal Yup. As much as i like amiibo, i likely wont get the dlc characters since they dont have custom movesets, which is how i set up my amiibos.
Strokes chin beard and looks up at the heavens.......Remember when I used to care about amiibo?
Meanwhile in Australia, JB, EB and Target have all of them.
@JaxonH - Going online to a specific site and ordering that way is definitely a "hoop" if you ask me.
Please wake me up when the day arrives that I can simply walk next door to the Walmart or Gamestop, on any given day of the week, and get any amiibo I want. Until that day arrives, I'm done with these pointless toys.
@Zach777 Oh man, total brain freeze on my part, Nov 20th, duh. Thanks. My brain always confuses Falco in F-Zero and Captain Falcon in Starfox.
So do we assume amiibo work in Starfox, or has that already been announced? I recall lots of rumours but nothing official.
@bezerker99
Well that's never going to happen. They said as much before amiibo launched. That not all will stay available.
So from the get go, they planned for not all of them to be available to where you can buy any one you want.
But ordering online is easier than walking into a store. THAT's the hoop. Is when they make you go in store to order. Like TRU with Bowser Jr.
So ya, there's been plenty hoops, but this isn't one of them,
But You can walk in a BestBuy right now and buy Shulk, Little Mac, Dark Pit, Captain Falcon, and many others. Seems pretty easy to me. Maybe it wasn't at one time but, it's never been easier than right now.
@bezerker99

I fail to understand how your definition of a 'hoop' is going to a website, yet, walking to a store is not.
@rjejr
Lol. I'm just going by the costumes found in Super Mario Maker. Nintendo can expand the series if they'd like.
@MoonKnight7 "Store Specific" is a hoop, imo. If it was any online store, it wouldn't hurt my hair as much.
Also, I don't buy stuff online and I literally can walk to a game store in 5 minutes. Waiting a few days for stuff to arrive isn't really doing me any favors.
Pre-Ordered! So happy! Falco was the last Amiibo that I really wanted! ...until Roy is released. The only other Amiibo that I'm still considering is Bowser Jr. I would like him, I just don't want to pay extra. If I even see him, I'll be sure to get it! Falco is more important to me, though, so I'm glad I got a pre-order.
@Nico07 I was under the assumption - possibly wrong - that all those items in SMM were amibo and random, I didn't know they were all known to be future amiibo. I'm just happy I finally got to use my silver Mario for something.
Got one! Thanks for the heads up.
@bezerker99
Yeah, no, I still don't get it, but that's fine. If it bothers you, it bothers you. To each their own I guess.
Ever since the low point that was called "amiibo Wave 4," it has gotten much, much better. But no, you aren't going to just walk into a store and find them all. There's way to many to be able to do that, unless you live in Australia. Lol. All the GameStops near me are small; if they carried all of the amiibos with a little extra stock, they wouldn't have room for anything else in their stock room. Not to mention, where on earth would they put 'all' of them on the sale's floor?
Jumping into the "hoop" debate...
"effort" is very subjective, and so is "desire". But I do know this, I bought a Disney Infinity playset in Target yesterday, Rise of the Empire, that I wasn't even going to buy, b/c I don't have DI 3.0, but I saw it there, so I bought it. People buy things in stores, it even has a name, "impulse buying", Some people like to shop that way, and I think its a given that more amiibo would be purchased if they were in stores to purchase. Nintnedo doesn't want to deal w/ excess stock, fine, but there are people in the world who shop that way, buying what they see on store shelves. I personally know people who don't even own a computer, or smart phone, and do ALL of their shopping in stores. True story.
"Impulse shopping"
https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/consumer-behavior/201303/five-reasons-we-impulse-buy
I don't need one (unless Starfox Zero have a unique use of it) but seeing the pre-order up this long is tempting me to get it, and I know if I end up buying this, then I'm going to want Fox as well.
Here's hoping I don't find a Fox amiibo on my way home with this pre-order still open, need to save my money for games.
@rjejr
I was just at BestBuy picking up Legend of Legacy, and I took a gander at the amiibo section.
uploading pictures
Can't see in the pic but a few others were there as well, like Cap Falcon and Shulk
I've bought about 30 amiibo and even have a lot of the rare store specific ones (ie Shulk, Lucario, Meta Knight) but I'm just tired of having to order them from specific places. I'd much rather just "impulse" buy them from a store, as @rjejr mentioned.
@JaxonH Wow, that's pretty impressive. My Target only seems to carry 2 amiibo, Mario and Dr. Mario. Oh wait, 1 Princess Peach and 3 Toads yesterday, had to find them in a different spot, man Target is a mess. I think my kid would have bought Olimar spur of the moment, he saw the picture and didn't know it was out yet. My kids are waiting impatiently on Pikmin 4, didn't happen to see that in Best Buy did you?
I guess moral of the story is stop bothering to look for amiibo in Target. Or much of anything Nintendo really, except Lego D and DI. Man, so many Lego D toys, even my kid coudln't believe there were 3 separate LotR packs, that's a bit much this soon on the market.
You should have just posted that pic first way back on comment #26 and not said anything. Maybe throw in 1 of these ;-P
@rjejr well now that the roster is done I'd like to think Nintendo is fixing stock (which seems to be happening) and more importantly, working on an amiibo centric game. I'd guess that may be a NX priority at this stage, however.
@SavoirFaire "amiibo centric game"
I've been waiting for that since Day 1. But between Mario Party 10 and AC:aF, it just doesn't look like I'm ever going to get Subspace Emissary 2 (I know how Ntneod likes their 2D games) or even some type of Nintendo Land 2 meets Tomodachi Life. Wii Sports had Wii Sports Resort, Wii Play had Wii Play Motion, Wii Fit had Wii Fit Plus, NL2 seems overdue. And also partly explains why Wii U seems so lacking in games, Wii had a bunch, even if a lot of it was borderline shovelware in some people's eyes. "amiibo Crossing"? "amiibo Snap"? Greatest bits could have been done sans amiibo and called "S/NES Demo Vault".
Got my pre-order in. GCU and $5 gift card. BAM!
@rjejr Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE you don't misspell "Nintendo" on purpose just so people would ask? Because you seem to be able to spell "Emissary" and "Tomodachi" just fine.
Exclusives promote cancer. The practice needs to be stopped.
Hopefully this good trend of plentiful stock is becoming a permanent thing...I wamlnt Falco! He looks too cool!
Aww, first Rosalina and now Falco? I like Best Buy in terms of window shopping but they have archaic pricing despite the name.
I wish they wouldn't put North America in the title, when its US only. Canada's amiibo situation is always different.
@TeeJay I posted early this morning and I spelled Ntineod correctly 4 times, makes me wonder if my tablet finally figured out how to auto correct it (that would be nice) . I had to manually fix my Emissary and Tomodachi typos. Actually I might have spelled Tomodachi right, b/c even if I did mistype it, I wouldn't know how to fix it anyway. I just type Nintendo way to often to to correct it every time. And it's not like somebody is going to mistake Nitnedo for Sony.
@Arckadius I think it's payback for all the people who say EU, even though the UK doesn't use the Euro, it still uses the pound, though UK is part of the EU, I think most of the Brits aren't happy about it..Or the revolution
