If you're thinking about getting Sonic Generations, I recommend it! $20.99 is a great deal for it. It's a little short, but has lots of missions and online to make the game longer.
Sad to see that this is the last weapon, but 74 weapons in total is amazing! I'm not a fan of the Hydra Splatling, so I'll keep using my trusty Slosher.
Seeing Crash on the cover reminds me of... well, Crash. I miss his games so much! Hopefully Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex is in the book; it's a great game.
@StephenYap3: I agree with you about Rise of Lyric. Yeah, it's unfinished, but I still had a lot of fun with it. The update helps quite a bit, so hopefully you can enjoy the game even more if you ever decide to update it.
As for the anniversary game, I hope that it's something new, (not a sequel) and modern Sonic. If those requests are filled, then I know I'll be happy with it. Maybe even have some other characters playable again; that would be awesome!
I LOVE Sonic, and that logo is super cute! I prefer modern Sonic, with my favorite games being Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and Sonic Heroes. I wouldn't mind a sequel to Generations, but a entirely new game would be welcome, as well. (Hopefully with modern Sonic)
Well, we got Splatoon, so it's automatically a good year!
Seriously though, this year wasn't the worst, but not the best... just meh. The Wii U did pretty well actually, with Splatoon, Mario Maker, and X being the gems this year, in my opinion; but the 3DS... not so hot. Especially in NA, with Paper Jam having a later release date in 2016. I've yet to play Majora's Mask 3D, but I know that's a great game! If you count the badge arcade as a game, then it turned out well, too. Those are all the games for the 3DS that really interested me this year. I might get Yokai-Watch in the future though.
Next year should be great, though! I already have three games I want: both versions of Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympic games, and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Off to a great start!
Can't wait for this game! Day one purchase for me already! I'm loving the amount of playable characters; looking forward to using characters that usually aren't playable in many games, like Jet the Hawk, or some of the Koopalings.
I'm not very good at Smash, but I'll try! I'll be either Sonic or Luigi, and my brother is going to play some too as Game & Watch and Lucas. So, if you see Blue Blur with the name Blue Blur, that's me, and if you see Blue Blur with the name Kevin, that's my brother. Good luck, everyone!
Alright! I'll be playing MK8 for sure, not so sure about Smash though... Looking forward to seeing everyone on the track!
Quick question: This will be my first time joining in on a Nintendolife community play session, so for MK8 in particular, do I just find the NL community under tournaments to join? Thanks in advance.
Yay! Another Slosher! I main the regular Slosher, (LOVE Burst Bombs) but I'll try this one out for sure! More weapon variety is always great, gonna be sad when the DLC ends...
The Direct was pretty good, overall. Not a fan of Bayonetta or Corrin, but Cloud is more than welcome! I'm getting the Roy amiibo for sure, and probably Cloud too.
But 58 fighters is amazing! Hopefully the next Smash game will have at least a few more characters, preferably Shantae and Rayman!
I've always been a nice girl, but my Inkling has been visiting Spyke a lot, and has handed over a bunch of Super Sea Snails in exchange for rerolls on gear... That isn't right, poor Super Sea Snails! My Inkling is naughty!
At least pizza will be on the winning side no matter what... you might have won the NA Splatfest Team Burger, but Pizza lovers get to continue to fight, whether they like pineapples on pizza or not!
Seriously though, hope Europe gets a much better Splatfest next time... can't get much worse, right...?
This is the weapon I've been waiting for! Looks amazing, especially with the range it gets. Definitely gonna try this out! It has a very good chance of becoming my main, along with the regular Slosher!
Surprised there's no MK8... other than that, those games do make great multiplayer fun, except maybe Splatoon. With the multiplayer mode being so limited, I don't think the fun would last for very long. Tennis and Mario Party though, absolutely!
Can't say I'm surprised by the score. It's about what I expected; still sad to see a game get a low score, though. I'll stick with Mario Party or Fortune Street if I'm in the mood for a party game. Still hoping for a traditional AC game for the Wii U...
I know it's still a fairly new game, but I was hoping that Freedom Planet would be on sale. Out of all of the games that are listed, I either already have them or aren't interested in them. $9.99 for Shantae is a great deal, though! If anyone is thinking about getting Shantae, go for it! The game is amazing!
I only play the Nintendo Badge Arcade. It's really fun, and the amount of free plays they offer is quite generous. I've only put in $1 so far, (I had to get those Splatoon badges!) but I don't intend on spending more money anytime soon. I'm using a lot of the badges to decorate my home screen, so I think it was worth the price. I'll keep playing daily for sure!
I'm terrible with the Splash Wall and love Burst Bombs.. I'll try this weapon out for sure, but I'll most likely keep the original Slosher as my main.
@Porky: I love that slosh once then burst bomb kill combo! It looks like this Slosher will be much more defensive than offensive. I'm not sure if I can leave the burst bombs behind... they're so useful!
Shantae is definitely the winner in my book. I also voted for Freedom Planet. I haven't played that game yet, but I intend to soon, probably around the Holidays. It looks really fun though, so I'm sure I'll like it!
In the poll I voted for Splatoon, MK8, and Hyrule Warriors.
In my opinion though: 1) Splatoon 2) MK8 & Sonic Transformed 3) Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (Unpopular opinion, I know, but I still really enjoyed this game) 4) Sonic Lost World 5) Hyrule Warriors 6) Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 7) Zelda: Wind Waker 8) Mario & Sonic Sochi 9) Rayman Legends 10) Super Mario Maker
Very nice update, I'm loving the new gear! Can't wait to get more of them! Unfortunately, my shops only had one new piece of gear yesterday, so I'm hoping to get more today! The bandannas look awesome!
Great news to hear! A direct has been overdue for too long! I hope it's a wide variety of things, like more Splatoon DLC, the Smash Ballot winner, maybe a new trailer to Zelda U or something about Twilight HD... anything is better than nothing! Luckily, it starts at a good time for me, so my body will be ready!
I miss the old Spyro so much! Unfortunately, I don't think he's ever coming back, especially with Skylanders doing so well. I don't like either franchise, so I'm not excited for this at all. We'll just have to see how this goes...
I think that being able to see the hit boxes in training mode is a really good idea! I hope this actually gets into the game someday. If not Smash 4, then hopefully the next Smash game.

Mario & Sonic Rio, Shantae, and Zelda U are the Wii U games I'm most interested in. I'm still on the fence about TP HD...

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 Wii U Retail Games - Third Anniversary Edition

4) Sonic Lost World
5) Hyrule Warriors
6) Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
7) Zelda: Wind Waker
8) Mario & Sonic Sochi
9) Rayman Legends
10) Super Mario Maker
