The Direct format worked for the first movie’s trailer drops, seemingly as it grossed a billion plus at the box office, so of course Nintendo are using the same marketing strategy with the Direct branding again to generate hype.

Loved the Nintendogs back in the day, but the games are very much a product of their time and a staple of the DS era.

Still, virtual pets can always be a big selling point for the casual market and maybe they’ll be brought back in some evolved form of sorts one day.
