Re: Ys X: Proud Nordics Reportedly Includes 120fps Performance Mode On Switch 2

It's always ridiculous when some people bash others for being against game key cards. We know nothing lasts forever. But the odds of being able to play physical media in the future are a lot higher than playing your digital games. How many times have companies delisted digital games after a few years? You're paying for a long term rental and hoping the company doesn't snatch it away at some point. Meanwhile, a company isn't going to take away your physical game you have owned for years. If you love digital games that's cool. But to bash others who are against it is just immature and ridiculous in my opinion.😐 Everyone isn't just going to roll over to something companies are trying to force on consumers.

@KevinP I completely understand how you feel. It happened with the Wii U, PS3, and Xbox One. After a generation of success, the next one was followed up by a worse experience for consumers. It's like these companies are allergic to sustainable success. I think it comes down to arrogance and greed. They believe since a lot of people enjoyed their previous product, consumers will buy the new product no questions asked. Success isn't guaranteed no matter the industry. There are a lot of companies that have gone bankrupt after previous success because they thought they were guaranteed to succeed with their next product/service. I'm not saying that is the situation Nintendo is currently in, but they really are dropping the ball with the Switch 2 and any goodwill with customers. Seems like every week something else negative is being revealed about Nintendo and their handling of the Switch 2.

Re: PSA: You Might Want To Be Careful Buying Pre-Owned Switch 1 Games For Your Switch 2

BLK_4EVER

@Magician Yep. A while back I said that I think they wanted the Switch 2 to be all digital but knew the backlash would be fierce. It's why they introduced the game key cards. Try to ease customers into getting used to not owning their games anymore. Everything Nintendo is doing is a company that is at war with physical media. Some people are still asleep and not paying attention. Make people nervous about purchasing used games and force them to buy digital because it's "safer" and from a reputable source like the eShop.😐

What a s**t show.😐 Of course some people will blame the consumer for this instead of where it really should be directed. The honeymoon phase is over with Switch 2 and a lot of slimy stuff is being exposed. Nintendo is on a reckless rampage and it won't end well for them. Some countries have very strict consumer laws/protections. They really are tempting fate when it comes to getting raked over the coals legally and they will deserve it. You can't punish innocent consumers because you are angry at a few bad apples.

Re: iFixit Performs A Full Teardown Of Nintendo's "P**s-Poor" Pro Controller

@KevinP Well said. I'll never understand why some people have blind allegiance to any company. It's so ridiculous and pathetic to me. Xbox fans are currently finding that out the hard way with the massive layoffs. They are attacking Spencer because they thought he was their "buddy" because he's a gamer too. Corporations and their shills only care about one thing, money. Unfortunately some consumers believe their loyalty and not their money is what matters the most to these companies.

Planned obselecence is what a lot of these companies are currently going for which is absolutely ridiculous and wasteful in my opinion. It's inexcusable when they make it extremely hard or pretty much impossible to replace the battery without effectively destroying the product. Just another device that will contribute to e-waste. I'm not surprised by some of the comments too. If others don't have glowing things to say about Nintendo, Sony, or Xbox, the diehard loyalists attack. Take off the fanboy glasses and realize these corporations aren't your friends. You can level justified criticism at them and still enjoy the products or services they have.😐

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Director And Producer Have Been Confirmed

BLK_4EVER

It's so weird how secretive Nintendo is with stuff like this. It's almost like they are annoyed when people want to know more information on game developers, products, etc... Most companies will immediately announce the developers of a new game and just move on. Only Nintendo acts like they are guarding Area 51 secrets.😐

Re: Switch 2 Users Are Reporting Instances Of Their Consoles Overheating

BLK_4EVER

People blaming the heat instead of the hardware are just being ridiculous. I doubt people are playing this thing outside in triple digit weather. It seems like a hardware or software issue is causing some of these systems to overheat. And people complaining about issues with their expensive purchase isn't "hating" or moaning either. Anyone with common sense would be upset and worried about their new console already giving them issues. It's pathetic the lengths some people will go to not criticize their favorite company. Attacking the consumers for bringing an issue or issues to light reeks of immaturity.

Re: Microsoft Announces Second Wave Of Layoffs, Over 9,000 Jobs Affected

BLK_4EVER

@Pillowpants A long time ago there was an article I read about why Microsoft jumped into the game industry with the Xbox. Bill Gates and others saw how dominant Sony was with the PlayStation brand and didn't want them to have a monopoly in the industry. Kind of ironic since Microsoft had a monopoly with Windows in the PC industry. It was pretty much arrogance that made them think they could step into a new industry and dominate it.

Re: Microsoft Announces Second Wave Of Layoffs, Over 9,000 Jobs Affected

BLK_4EVER

I remember how many Xbox fans were happy with the Activision purchase because they thought it would screw Sony and Nintendo. People with common sense knew this would be bad for the industry, particularly those who worked at Activision and Microsoft. You don't make a purchase that large and expect things to stay the same. The Xbox brand is floundering and Microsoft is trying to put a bandaid on a knife wound. They need to stop straddling the fence and just become a dedicated third party publisher already. It's the only thing that may save the brand. The dedicated hardware division is pretty much toast.

Re: Furukawa's Defence Of Game-Key Cards Ain't All That Convincing

BLK_4EVER

They know enough suckers will believe the bs and support this garbage. I'm really tired of hearing excuses for why game key cards are being used. Nintendo could've stuck with regular micro SD cards. The Steam Deck and other pc handhelds use them with no issues. Nintendo is using a format that isn't widely used and very expensive. They are helping publishers kill off physical media. "But Nintendo's own games are fully on the cartridge!" That's also intentional. They had to throw their customers a bone to not look like complete bad guys. I'm willing to bet anything they wanted the Switch 2 to be all digital but knew the backlash would be way too intense to do that. So compromise for now by offering game key cards while still making their own games fully available on the cartridge. The people won't be as upset because Nintendo is still the "savior" of physical media. It's all just a scummy scam to wrestle control away from the consumers when it comes to what they can and cannot purchase. And if anyone thinks publishers will go away from game key cards once the SD card prices drop, I got beachfront property in Idaho to sell you. They will move the goalposts on why they have to keep using game key cards even if the format is dirt cheap in a few years. It'll all come back to one thing, control. These companies really don't want you owning anything anymore.
