I don't like how Emily is making herself the centre of attention by spreading these kind of rumours. She should stop doing that until Nintendo releases more information about the system and its game line-up.

The thing is: Nintendo thinks that retro devices like this one won't sell as much as the modern one. But I guess Nintendo learned a lesson not to underestimate nostalgia.

If Nintendo is confident of selling 2 million Switch units at the end of March, then they have got to have major IPs ready for launch day of the console.

Switch January Direct can't come soon enough...

It's nice that Nintendo is becoming even better than before with these announcements. Hopefully they keep doing this until the Switch release.

The 3DS needs to be so stable that it can't be moved anywhere...

The reason why Dual Screen feature is not present in Nintendo Switch is because even Nintendo itself is not using it fully in its Wii U games recently. Smash Bros. only uses it for Stage Creator. DKC: Tropical Freeze? only Off-TV play. Splatoon may miss it, but not much.

If this means to bring more games easily to Nintendo Switch, then I'm fine with that.

I believe it's a bold step from Nintendo to ditch the second screen feature to differentiate the Switch from Wii U even more.

From the trailer, I'd say the Nintendo has made a good start to build Nintendo Switch hype. I'm 24 years-old and Nintendo is still impressing me with their console reveals.

Normally, I'd say prepare to be disappointed, since it's Nintendo. But from the level of confidence that they are showing with this news, I should be conservative with my excitement.

I feel sorry for those who work tirelessly to make this game. It's a spin-off, yet it gets a huge wave of hatred from Metroid hardcore fans. I'd say give it a shot before you judge. It looks fun.

I still think that this game can be some sort of a spyware, since it can collect data by using both Internet connection and device's camera. I don't really feel safe playing the game.

VR is still expensive. The cheapest one is PlayStation VR, which costs around $400, which is basically a PS4+$50. Plus, I've read that some people who are experiencing the VR get motion sickness, so the technology is not for everyone. I'd say we should wait a bit until it's affordable.

I'm not going to say what's next because we know already.

It's obvious that they're going to reveal it this year as we are quickly approaching NX release schedule, so this news is not a surprise to me.

Once again, people are starting to making rumours look real. I mean seriously, if I were you, I would not be reading the so-called "trusted source". I'll wait for Nintendo to give us the official information about NX. Until then, pour a bucket of salt on this article.

I believe this is a good thing for Nintendo, as this will help them focus their resources on other projects like Wii U and 3DS games, and even NX console. Besides, E3 is dying right now, and don't try to kid yourself there. I've been following E3 since 2007, and it's getting less hype every year. Time is a cruel thing, but we have to accept the reality.

Nintendo fanboys are afraid as usual because they saw the future ahead of the console release and they try to make things look bad by saying that NX is bad and is going to be underpowered like the Wii U.

I have never had a problem with "underpowered" system, as long as it bring me an enjoyable experience.

I'm shocked to see people here always rush to the conclusion way ahead of time, and don't tell me it's a theory, it's called a nothing-happened-yet nonsense. Those business men know what they're doing to make a profit, and you people speak like you've travelled to the future.

Kimishima is on the point: why you want to release a console with a rushed little software line-up on holiday season, when you can make a proper line-up ready in March. Making games isn't as cheap and easy as they used to be. It takes time and money, and those particular people don't get to see their family more often.

Well let's face it. Like many guys said here, E3 is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Nintendo, Sony, and some other 3rd party companies are holding their own events. Traditional E3 nowadays is a barrier that keeps worldwide gamers from hearing what's new in the video games industry. With the social media rapid adaption, it's no wonder that on floor E3 is quickly becoming an old yet expensive way to showcase gaming news, while restrict it to only local people rather than everyone.

People, get over it already. Time has changed everything you know and love. you should get used to the change that's happening now.

Nintendo is hiding something from us, I'm sure of it. This is a very small piece of information they provided us today.

If I read correctly, My Nintendo will be fully launched globally this March. So, we can wait for a bit, right?

You must understand that this is a spin-off game, which means it isn't related to the main story. The important thing you need to know is that the concept of the game, like most other games, is fun. And Nintendo is trying to deliver this concept to the fans, but unfortunately people seems to have a hard time to accept it, and that's where the problem is. Like Nintendo said, they currently don't have any idea for the sequel to the main Metroid game. If you really want another main Metroid game, you have to ask Nintendo "NICELY", since whining isn't going to help solving your problem.

3DS is now more stable than an elephant.

Went to the website and less than a minute, done creating my own NA (Nintendo Account).

We learned that Luigi isn't a serious contender to fight against. It's proven twice.

I think the real reason that most people are dissatisfied with this news is that they probably own most of these game. Well I, for one, find this incredibly good amount of games, even if I have at least some of them.

I was shedding a happy farewell tears when the direct ended because I was so pleased with what Sakurai has given to us, despite his arm injury. This man has worked a lot, and he should be memorized as an employee of the century or millennia. This Smash Bros. has the most amount of content ever in the history of video games. Thank you Sakurai! I hope we get to see on your future projects like Kirby games or Kid Icarus.

@roccochacon He said that he would pick the top requested fighter in the ballot, and he did. So what would be the point of showing the detailed result of the ballot?

Well, that's the end of that. It's a good thing that Sakurai decided to end all of Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS DLC debate with this final presentation.

Now my impression of this direct: It's impressive. It gave lots of information of what the characters do in battle. There was nothing but characters, and this is what people want, right?

For Smash Ballot character choice, I was very surprised when I saw Bayonetta gets included. When Sakurai said the ending will be climax, I tried to think of the character that's related to this word, but nonetheless, her reveal was a pleasent one. Truly a character that deserves a spot for Smash bros. game. Also Sakurai also explained why she was chosen as the last playable fighter, check that in the video.

Overall, Sakurai gave to the audience exactly what they wanted: More Characters. However, some fans were left disappointed (I'm not) because there requested characters didn't make it. This game is now Nintendo's most precious gem that you must have in your collection. It has a lot of downloadable contents like stages, characters and Mii costumes, and best of all, they're all optional. Thank you, Mr. Sakurai for the hard work you put for your fans. You have endured pain and it has brought fruitation in the end. We salute you!

You know, let me get this out of my chest. OK, here we go:

I think that Smash bros. hype train should end after this presentation, because:
1. There are other games to look forward to. Super Smash Bros. is not the only game we should enjoy on our Nintendo systems, right?
2. The final piece of DLC will be revealed in this direct, so that will end lots of speculations that happen on the internet.
3. Sakurai has other projects to work on, and he's not stuck in making more content for both games forever. And also, he can't please everyone, so be prepared for what he has. Give this guy a break, I say.

Phew! Now I'm finally relieved.

I think Nintendo needs to produce more gamepads because this game is so scary that you might throw a gamepad on the ground.

Well, this pretty much confirms that NX is a home console, and probably a successor to Wii U.

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of Dragon Quest series, but those who are, good for them.
