Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Weighs In On 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour' Controversy (Sort Of)

Azooooz

After an in depth look at Switch 2 Welcome Tour, I've come to the conclusion that the title not being a pack-in the console suddenly doesn't sound like a bad idea after all. I get that Sony did include Astro's Playroom with every PS5 purchase, but I don't know if this was factored in the console's price. As for the Welcome Tour (or should have been called exhibition), the detail in each section is super nerdy that only tech geeks would be interested in getting into this. Think of it like a museum exhibition where it shows you how a country started and how it has been evolved in a detailed way that only historians would be interested in. People who are not in technology won't be interested in this title at all. It's just $10 so it's there if you want it.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Azooooz

I want to clarify first that I'm neither a Nintendo advocate nor a hater. What I say is purely subjective regarding the pricing of Switch 2 games, so here it goes:

I understand that most people are upset that Switch 2 game like MK:W is more expensive than they expected, but let's face it: everything is becoming expensive, not just games. I personally don't like inflation, and I want it to stop but if the world economy doesn't improve, then unfortunately this will keep going for years to come. Even if we don't buy games at this price, chances are we will at some point as this price point may become normal. I mean some games are already $70-$80, and there are people who are angry about it at first, then they accepted the fact. I reckon that this will be temporarily before Nintendo can develop and publish games at lower cost. However, if MK: W is going to have Expansion Pack for free, then I see that would justify the price point of the game.

Re: PSA: Nintendo Switch Sports Local Multiplayer Won't Work On Switch Lite Or In Tabletop Mode

Azooooz

It's baffling to me that people still complain, despite even knowing that the game is not going to be compatible with Switch Lite, and they knew that Switch Lite doesn't support TV mode. The fact that the Switch Lite was released about 3 years ago, and everyone on the Internet know about it not supporting TV mode. But yeah, let's complain about something because there's nothing else to complain.

To clear up, I'm not defending Nintendo, but some people need to do some research before deciding.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting A Switch OLED Or Valve Steam Deck?

Azooooz

Things you need to consider when buying Steam Deck:

1- Base storage (64GB) isn't enough in the age where game data, especially AAA titles, is between 50-200GB in size (excluding DLCs and expansions). Even if you want to expand the storage, it'll cost you extra money for a faster NVMe SSD solution.

2- The battery life, while it sounds promising on paper, may suffer from graphics heavy games that suck more juice. Not to mention the system's thermal performance, since it's essentially a portable PC that allows you to adjust game's graphical settings, which the more textures, the more power it requires to run.

As for Switch OLED, I understand some fans' frustration for not being a "Pro" version and Nintendo is playing safe here. I believe that, and this is my opinion, that Nintendo does not need to release a beefed up version of Switch for reasons:

  • Switch is still selling great. It's going to reach about 100M unit sold soon.
  • This Switch revision fixes some the console's flaws, like kickstand (if you play in tabletop mode) and LAN port equipped dock. I don't know about the Joy-Con drift, as I have never experienced it since launch.
  • It isn't a must have console, unless you don't own one. I have said this many times that it's an incremental upgrade if you are looking to replace your current Switch. For new customers, however, it's a must have.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch OLED Model

Azooooz

In short: buy if:

1- Never owned a Switch before.

2- You play on handheld mode more often than TV mode.

3- Your Switch is not working, which is a rare case.

4- Fancy for OLED and bigger screen.

Other than that, definitely not worth it.

Re: After Months Of 'Switch Pro' Rumours, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Nintendo Switch OLED Model

Azooooz

I have to say that this is one of the most worthless things that Nintendo ever revealed yet. Yes, it has OLED screen and some fancy small stuff they put, but that's about it. If this was the original Switch, It would have been a must buy, but I don't know what was Nintendo thinking when they revealed this "new" console.

So, unless you don't own a Nintendo Switch or play Switch in a handheld mode occasionally, this is a hard pass.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Delivered An Excellent E3 Direct For Fans Old And New

Azooooz

I am overall pleased with what Nintendo shown at E3. Nintendo seized the opportunity to reveal their big games, and also finally resurrected their long lost franchise (Advance Wars) which surprised me the most. WarioWare finally goes back to Microgames system that we know and love, moving away from the embarrassing mini-game style of their last game: Game and Wario. Metroid: Dread is a love letter from fans who grew up with games like Super Metroid and Metroid: Fusion that will keep you occupied while waiting for Metroid Prime 4.

Nintendo finally showed off the sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The 2022 doesn't sound like far away, but if you ask me I would like to see more since it has been in development for years. I'm really looking forward to playing more Zelda games, especially Skyward Sword, since it's the one, along Twilight Princess, that I haven't played them yet.

While I don't play party games anymore due to my brothers having their own life to manage, Mario Party Superstars takes me back when I was a kid playing the heck of N64 Mario Party games. The amount of nostalgia in this game may be enough to make me come back to playing Mario Party games. I tried Super Mario Party on Switch at my cousin, but I felt that it lacked the charm of Mario Party that I loved back in the N64/GameCube era.

The 3rd Party games were nothing short of amazing either. Games like SMT V, Danganronpa, Fatal Frame, and Switch-exclusive Mario+Rabbids: Spark of Hope are some of the highlight that I was happy to see. Oh and did I mention Super Monkey Ball? I couldn't be any happier with their 3rd party line-up this year.

Now, if there's one thing that I wish they did, is that they told us about the development update of Metroid Prime 4. I mean, I love Prime series, and I can't wait to play the fourth one when it's released, but at least ease my worries a bit, would you, Nintendo?

All in all, superb showcase, definitely better than the last year, and this will be the one that many will remember as one of the best Nintendo E3 directs yet.

Re: Poll: How Hyped Are You For Nintendo's E3 Direct?

Azooooz

I'll be as realistic as I can be with these expectations:

1- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter's Pass 2 character.

2- More The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword info.

3- Another Splatoon 3 trailer.

4- More info on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

5- More Info on Pokemon Legend: Arceus.

6- A Wii U port game announcement for Switch.

7- A pointless lengthy trailer of a game that we already know or have.

8- No More Heroes 3 Trailer.

9- Mario + Rabbids: Spark of Hope (because why not?).

10- Bayonetta 3.

11- Probably an info about Metroid Prime 4.

12- Development update regarding The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel.

13- Surprise at the end of the direct (Come on, this happens every time, right?).

Re: Talking Point: Is It Worth Buying A Nintendo Wii U In 2021?

Azooooz

In terms of features and backward compatibility, the Wii U is above and beyond Switch's. It has a lot of party games and retros that you can still get. Plus, its gamepad is very unique, but unfortunately underutilized, even by Nintendo, in its last run.

Don't get me wrong, the Switch is still a great console, but it pales in comparison to Wii U in this department.

Re: The Game Of Life 2 Goes For A Spin On Switch eShop Today

Azooooz

I played this game numerous times with friends, and I have to say is that it isn't worth the asking price ($29.99). The game is very short, and its DLC is just map themes with skins for your character. It's about $20 on Steam season pass included, so I'd get it from there if I were you. It doesn't have mini-games like the prequel.

My advice is that unless you have friends and a time to waste, better spend your money elsewhere.

Re: Watch: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase July 2020

Azooooz

I mean, what did people expect? Mario Sunshine 2? Zelda BOTW 3 ( I mean 2)? F-Zero?

Nintendo stated that it'll be 3rd-party mini direct before the show, and some interpreted it it will be a full blast 1st party direct with unrealistic expectations. Some people need to learn how to read because it's becoming annoying now.

Anyway, this direct was "OK", not abysmal nor great, but it's within my expectation. Shin Megami Tensei V is something that I thought I would see, but not a remake of the third game.

Re: A Special Warframe Announcement Is Happening At This Year's Game Awards

Azooooz

@Magician Then you should visit the game again. Fortuna is a new Free Roam area, Three new warframes this year (Wisp, Gauss, and Grendel), The Old Blood adds Kuva Lich system, which you fight against a powerful Kuva Grineer for weapon, ephymera and you can make them fight for you, and the latest The Rising Tide, which is a preparation for the New War.

Re: Feature: It's Time To Lay Down Your ARMS

Azooooz

I'm happy that Nintendo continued to support this game until the end, despite the small fan base and content. While the character's design and modes are fun to play, they could have done more to this game like campaign. Hopefully they take what they've learned an improve it in the sequel (when there is one).

Re: Feature: Nintendo E3 2019 - What Are You Hoping For?

Azooooz

I'll give my realistic expectations of what's going to be shown:
1- Luigi's Mansion 3 gameplay.
2- Mario and Sonic at 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
3- More Astral Chains gameplay
4- More Pokemon Sword/Shield Gameplay (Because Wynaut?)
5- Fire Emblem: The Three Houses (To fill the direct time).
6- New features for Super Mario Maker 2.
7- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Challenger Pack 2.
8- Animal Crossing 2019 gameplay and release date.
9- Daemon X Machina gameplay and release date.
10- Marvel Ultimate Alliance short gameplay.
11- New Nindie games.

Anything other than that, is a bonus. I expect new IPs to be shown, but I won't hold my breath on that.
