Re: Official Nintendo Switch Technical Specifications Have Been Shared

Azooooz

Actually, these specs are pretty good for its form factor. The AC wireless LAN is to make sure that you get almost zero latency and ping when playing locally with other Nintendo Switches.

Bluetooth 4.1 will open the support of many Bluetooth headsets, though we won't find out if Nintendo will eventually support them.

@maceng Since you brought up hardware power point, it's a good thing that Nintendo didn't make a PlayStation-like console because that would harm the video game industry more than you think. I'm just glad that Nintendo made a console that's easy to develop game for rather than a PC-esque machine.

As for the accessories, yeah I agree that they are a bit expensive, but that because technology advancement does cost lots of money, so they need to make profit from selling the accessories, and you're not forced to buy them.

Re: Video: Alex Shares His First Impressions Of The Nintendo Switch With Nintendo UK

What I am going to say is this: The selling point of the Switch is neither the hardware specs, nor online features. But rather, it's the concept of playing home gaming software anywhere and anytime. No console like the Switch has this perk, and if you are worrying about the battery life, you can use a portable battery bank or the nearest power outlet to keep gaming on the go.

Now as far as the games go, Nintendo said that there will be more game announcements before the console launch, so keep your "doom and gloom" with you until next year. If it fails, you can say whatever you want. But if it becomes a massive success, you will admit that you are wrong about what you said about the system.

Re: Nintendo Switch to Introduce Paid Online Service in Autumn / Fall

Azooooz

We don't know about the detail of their online services yet. They are going to do this eventually, and they need to recoup the losses they made during the last 2 years.

I hate how some people here prematurely jump into the conclusion that "this is bs, nintendo is doomed". But of course, prematurity comes from Nintendo Life users.

Re: Mass Effect Producer Says There's No Plan to Bring Mass Effect Andromeda to Switch

Azooooz

And to those who say "I buy Nintendo console for Nintendo games only!", you know that some developers go to websites and read this kind of comment. It's probably one of the reasons why they always have second thoughts on making the games for Nintendo consoles. Yeah, the Japanese 3rd party would support Nintendo, but they also need western 3rd party, since they represent the majority of the video gaming industry.

You need to stop thinking like that, because it would harm Nintendo more than you think.

Re: Super Mario Run Will Require a Constant Online Connection

Azooooz

@BionicDodo If you have a job, then you can afford getting a cheap internet plan. I mean it's not hard to get it these days, and most public areas in the world should have a free internet access. I heard that subways is going to provide free internet for passengers, but I can't remember where I've heard of this.

Besides, that doesn't mean that the game will be always online forever. They may release an update for offline gameplay.

Re: Super Mario Run Will Require a Constant Online Connection

Azooooz

I don't understand you, people. If you can afford to buy a $600 or $700 smartphone, then there would be no reason not to get yourself an internet plan + a 4G mobile Wi-Fi device. Your smartphone is always connected online, whether you are using it or not. I don't see the game needs a constant internet connection as a problem. Plus, the game is free-to-play, but with ads. Pay, and the ads are gone forever.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo, the NES Mini and Ongoing Stock Problems

Azooooz

Well, here's my opinion why the NES Mini is always short on supply?

You see, Nintendo want this console to last for a while before it gets discontinued. And with the Nintendo Switch on the horizon, they don't want it to be overshadowed by NES Mini. It's merely a method to get people excited for Nintendo again and also for their new console. I, for one, would want something new from Nintendo, and if I want to play these nostalgia games, I have the original consoles for this.

I know someone will say: "But it's cheaper, and has more games out of the box". Yes, but the price has triggered the supply shortage. Maybe if Nintendo increases the price of the NES Mini temporarily, the supply shortage wouldn't be a problem. Again, that's my opinion, so if you like it, or don't like it, that's fine with me.

Re: Rumour: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Won't Be Ready by March

Azooooz

The title release date says "2017". I don't see the word "March" in it.

Frankly, I only blame people like you who quickly rush into something that hasn't been officially said or announced. The Zelda: BotW March launch rumour was started by this woman, who quickly became known for her so called "sources". She's not affiliated with Nintendo to begin with, and she gets lucky with her guesses. But now she has gone too far with this one. She should stop posting some false information that she is not sure about. And you guys should not always listen to her, because you will be blaming Nintendo for "breaking their promise". Nintendo said it's a 2017 title, and that's that. No more additional info. May be we'll hear the exact date in the Switch Direct.
