3DS firmware updates are something that are fairly common occurrences nowadays. While it may be that these typically don't add any new or exciting features, there is one thing that every update adds that we simply can never have enough of: stability. Fortunately, the Nintendo R&D wizards have managed to capture lightning in a bottle once again, cramming even more stability into the aging portable.
3DS system version 10.7.0-32 just recently went live and here's what it does, according to Nintendo's changelog:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
Obviously, there's some really exciting stuff going on here, so make sure you update that console of yours as soon as possible.
What do you think? Are you glad that these regular updates keep going out? What significant features would you like to see in a future update? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Sigh, even a minute addition would be welcome to the updates
Still wondering if Nintendo makes the 3ds really stable or that they don`t have any ideas to update and just put a new update without any reason.
Stability, stability to infinity and beyond.
@Drainos I'm pretty sure these just block exploits that could lead to piracy.
What I'd like is to see an update that gives you more customisation.
@MitchVogel The update didn't do jack. My 3ds is still jailbroken/modded/playable online and I can still downgrade the 10.7 firmware from other 3ds since nintendo didn't bother updating the native firmware.
What am I going to do with all this stability?
I was kind of hoping a New Nintendo Club update.....sigh
"There is no other way, the only path is stability!"
"But brother, why?"
"We need stability, nothing else!"
"What about friend messag-"
"Don't go there!"
"And-"
*ascends to a higher form and unleashes stability onto the land *
Thanks 3DS update 10.7.0-32. I needed some more stability in my life
@Windy According to the TP Picross rumour, My Nintendo isn't coming until the end of the month.
Stability is a code word for ..............
Your 3DS is Stable! his 3DS is stable! Her 3DS is stable! does anyone else need more stability?!
Meow
-I'm out.
Stability is clearly a Nintendo code word for "removing homebrew / piracy".
@Retron They should make an "Export template" option which makes a blank template on the SD card so you can add your own pictures and music.
I hope the update does something super amazing!
At last ! My 3ds wasn`t stable enough.
Not even gonna make a stability joke this time. Everyone's tired of those, just like everyone's tired of these so-called updates.
Seems the friend list, internet browser and eShop applet got some updates. 3DS got some NFC module fixes as well.

My 3DS is so stable I use it to correct my chair leg.
@MitchVogel pretty much yeah
I don't really understand why these are news.
@Peace-Boy you mean, make your own theme, because you can do that on 3ds homebrew
My 3d's is so stable now that it balances my breakfast.
@kamikazilucas Yes, your own theme. And I didn't think homebrew was even possible on 3DS yet, I've been out of that scene for the past year or so, so I never heard anything about it or even bothered looking because there doesn't seem to be any point to me.
I meant officially anyway, Nintendo need to let people make their own themes. But I suppose they do need to make money so they just charge for themes and trying to offer as many as possible.
STABILITY HNNNNNNNGH
@Peace-Boy http://smealum.github.io/3ds/
@Zebetite That's the perfect avatar for that comment.
I wish they wouldn't get my hopes up with the little blue light. Every time I see it I think something exciting has happened. I guess I should know better by now.
My 3ds is so stable that I used it to stabilize unstable atoms! (For those of you wondering, an unstable atom is radioactive!)
@kamikazilucas I'm not sure if it's even worth it. I don't want to put my 3DS, Smash Bros. or OoT3D games in danger just to get a custom theme. The other things don't interest me, region free doesn't matter to me unless I can be convinced otherwise.
@Peace-Boy use the browser one
Hmm...My 3DS doesn't look stable recently. I'll start updating it now.
I would assume most of this "stability" is just updates to counter piracy.
@RoomB31 norly
It is so stable, Omega molecule are starting to form around it.
@kamikazilucas "unfortunately, this is currently only compatible with consoles whose firmware version is 10.5 or earlier. Any consoles on 10.6 or later are not compatible."
@Patriplexity Well, I plan on giving OoT3D to my nephew anyway.
What about the 3DS itself? I want to keep using the eShop and online etc...
I dont mind these updates, i got two 3ds's one for gaming(my legit console) and one for hacking and modding also Letting us pay 2-3$ for a blank slate to make custom themes with custom pictures, music and icons would be rad, paying an additional 2-3$ would unlock another blank slate for more customs.
Great way to earn monies and please the audience at the same time.
i dont get excited for new games, only 3ds stability updates!
Hey look, a new Puzzle Swap panel piece!!!
Oh, and all this stability is crazy!
@kamikazilucas dur
Where is the update that makes 3ds brew and dispense hot coffee?
@Waninoko Cool! This looks like an interesting batch of info. I'll be checking this more often...
@Captain_Gonru this is why i CBA to change the time...
that and lazy even if it takes ~1
to 2 min thats less gaming time for me!
Nintendo should just add an "auto-DST" adjuster. just imput your geo-loc or general area and when DST happens it will auto DST on you.
not sure how it would affect a game like AC if you were for some reason playing it in 2am in the morning...
plus the pokemon shuffle check in time changed to 2am it seems like fml... (the time it resets so you can get your 500/1k coin bonus)
I don't know about everyone else, but after making the update, I noticed my 3DS when on a table actually seems LESS STABLE.
I anticipate another stability update in the next week to fix this problem. Until then, may we all pray we can keep our 3DS' stable enough to continue playing.
I love the nerdy pun in the subtext.
@Peace-Boy on the homebrew there is a launcher that will take you straight to the eshop i dont know about online though, you should buy a digital version of ocarina of time, as that is now part of the nintendo selects range
When was the last time a 3ds update added anything meaningful to users?
@kamikazilucas I'm in Europe, OoT3D is not part of the Nintendo Selects here.
@Peace-Boy soon
@kamikazilucas If you say so.
Anyway, I don't think I'll waste my time modding my 3DS, I don't want to take a risk, especially when I paid money for this thing, I don't want a brick.
@Peace-Boy Like I said, if you jailbreak your 3ds, you will have access to eshop and online. The way to do it is access homebrew channel and downgrade your firmware to 9.2. After that install cfw (custom firmware) eg rxtools or reinand. The only way you can brick your 3ds is how incompetent you are and failing to follow instructions carefully
@Cooroxd Well, Wii was a ton simpler and I was able to softmod that just fine. But when I jailbroke my PS3, I got RSOD and various other problems when I tried to fix it so I had to get a new one and instead leave it alone.
Why would I want to downgrade to 9.2? Features have been put in and there'll probably be new ones too. Then there's these updates that would remove the jailbreak or something.
And the ultimate question is, is it worth it? What's the point in jailbreaking my 3DS?
...now so stable... I can run with sissors..
The device is so stable now, that I can spin around while holding it on top of a pencil tip.
I'm surprised that plate spinners haven't already switched to 3DSes, it would make their job much easier.
@Peace-Boy no it does not remove the jailbreak when you update because we have something called emunand and custom firmware which tricks nintendo and allows us to update and not being block by it. Essentially, the 9.2 is your sysnand side and the emunand side is the one you emulate to allow update to 10.6 and it's undetected by nintendo. Allowing you eshop and online access. And my reason to jailbreak my 3ds is because I want my investment to be future proof. If nintendo decides to drop 3ds and eshop support when next gen comes out I want to make sure I can still be able to get games that I didn't have time to play or buy when it was released. Also, I want Japanese games that's not going to be localized.
@Cooroxd Can you explain further on what you mean by 'future proof'? You'll still be able to play and buy games for it and you'll still be able to access the eShop.
And I'm not sure about any non localised Japanese games that are appealing, I mean, Dragon Quest 7 and 8 getting localised was certainly a surprise 2 Nintendo Directs ago.
Actually, now that I think about it, The Great Ace Attorney still needs to be localised and Capcom is unsure of localising it.
You're just floating through life with no direction. Why can't you be more like your 3DS?
Someone's mom, probably
@ROBLOGNICK exactly.
[STABILITY INTENSIFIES]
Its so stable, it could house the world's horses
Stability jokes inc ^^ (i like them a lot)
Stability? Thank god, hopefully my amiibo wont fall of my 3ds after this update,.....
˙ ͜ʟ˙
It's funny cause since this update my 3DS has been freezing and having issues connecting to the Internet...
