Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battles Season 2 Start Date And Rewards Revealed

Ashina

I'm still hoping there are other ways we can get these Megas in the future but honestly, the ZA Battle Club isn't so bad at all.

I'm not into competitive battles and avoid them as much as possible but getting to Rank K in this game is actually easier than I expected. I got the Greninjite in my 1st playthrough which did took me a bit longer but on my 2nd-3rd replay (at the time I knew which mons/megas to use), getting it took me less than an hour.

Still hoping for some other ways to get the stone, especially for those who'll be playing the game much later and/or for those who will be replaying the game again (like me)

Re: "Go Tell Nintendo" - Ex-Blizzard President Responds After Xbox Calls Exclusives "Antiquated"

Ashina

Hot take but exclusivity still matters. It's what gives your console its own identity. Nintendo consoles will always be relevant because of titles like Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, etc.

Good on Microsoft for wanting to embrace multi-platform strategy (I'm actually excited to play Halo for the 1st time) but calling exclusivity as antiquated is why they will never outsell Nintendo nor Playstation in terms of console. Nintendo will always keep selling 1st party titles that will also move their console sales

Re: Anniversary: Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water Still Scares The Pants Off Me Ten Years On

Ashina

Personally, I love Fatal Frame 3. Fatal Frame 1 was also really good and Fatal Frame 2 is the fan favorite for a reason.

I think the first 3 Fatal Frame games are just really good in general and I wish Fatal Frame 1 and 3 gets a remake as well.

I played Maiden of the black water and for some reason, it's not gripping me like the first 3. I just bought Mask of the Lunar Eclipse recently and it will be a perfect Halloween game for me

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

Ashina

8/10

I have some concerns in the game (such as locking certain Megas behind online matches and DLC).

Initially, my expectations for Z-A went from excited to concern to disappointment prior to release. However, when I played the game, I was really having so much fun with it. I thought that the exploration being restricted within the city will get dull easily but tbh, I'm having fun exploring. The wild zones definitely could be better but it's not so bad. Voice acting will make the game better but not a deal-breaker for me. I also like how fast-paced the battles. I'm also liking the characters in this game, especially Emma.

My only gripes so far (aside from the locking of certain Megas behind DLC and online battles) are the unskippable dialogues (which can be a frustrating thing when I replay this game again), and lack of rides. It's fun to explore the city but I wish we could at least get a bike for faster travel. Lastly, and this might be a spoiler but an immediate leap of rank in-game, I mean, I guess it's to avoid burnt out but still, the whole point is that we're suppose to work our way up instead of giving to us freely. Lastly, lack of hairstyles, like, come on, I know there will be more once the DLC comes out but the selection of hairstyle in this game is so disappointing.

Overall, this is a fun Pokémon game, definitely a different experience from Legends Arceus but it has its own merits. This is probably my favorite Switch 2 game so far.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting DLC Featuring Two Different Mega Raichu

Ashina

I'm not usually one to rant about Pokemon games but this day 1 DLC and the fact that the Kalos starters Mega are only available through online battles as rewards, is infuriating to me.

I'm so hyped for Legends Z-A, it's based on X&Y which is some of my favorite gen but this is just disappointing.

One thing that I love about Legends Arceus is that because the game is a single player game only, I don't have to worry about online tradings, online battles and whatnot. And the fact that I can catch all Pokemon within the game to completion, probably one of the best fulfillment I've had in a Pokemon game.

But in this case, you have Megas that are locked behind DLC and online matches. This just makes things very cumbersome for someone who would rather play the game solo.

I'm so hyped for this game but damn, this announcements just makes me angry.....

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Director Has Had "Positive Discussions" With Nintendo On Switch 2 Port

Ashina

Probably the game that will make me finally use the mouse functionality of the Switch 2.

@AussieMcBucket XV was such a hot mess production wise that it had so many ideas and story elements that were cut in the final game. While the game overall turned out to be decent, there's a lot of missing story content and were broken into several DLCs and other media. But even with the DLCs, they decided to simply cancel the rest of them. XV is far from a bad game but it was the most wasted potential Final Fantasy

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Is Putting This Pronunciation Debate To Bed

Ashina

It's the "Tee-dus" vs "Tie-dus" debate all over again.

Even the Japanese name have a different way of pronouning its name, "Rekkūza". This just feels like how it sounds like in US but not for everybody else.

Honestly, doesn't matter how it's pronounced officially in English. Just follow whatever sounds better for you.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Ashina

It was an ok presentation. Definitely lacking in terms of surprise announcement. Still, there are some good games announced. FFT Remaster though after the SoP, this isn't all that exciting and since we already knew it will be a multi-plat game. P3R announcement though it's only a matter of time instead of IF it's comig to Switch.

I do like the MH Stories 3 announcement, the new 2D-HD game from Square and a new OT game.

Overall, just an okay, not great presentation.

Re: Final Fantasy 9 Gets Some Gorgeous New Artwork, And It Has Fans In A Frenzy

Ashina

FFIX is my all time favorite and at this point, a remake is all but confirmed. I still have some few concerns but I hope Square doesn't mess up said remake. Personally, I want it to be turn-based but I don't mind if they implement a combat mechanic that is similar to FFVII Remake. Just don't make it full action.

Also, really love these illustrations, especially the one with the party looking at the Iifa tree. Would make for a dope cover art once the remake is announced

Re: Pokémon Fan Loses "20 Years Worth Of Data" After Performing Switch 2 Transfer

Ashina

This is why cloud saves should have been available for Pokemon games on Switch. I don't understand why of all the games, Pokemon games are the ones that don't support them.

If this story is true, the guy who lost his 20 year old Pokemon is not at fault. As he mentioned, he did the system transfer without any issues. That's not on him as he only follows transfer procedure that Nintendo implemented.

For me, I lost some legendaries and some of my Cap Pikachu from USUM that I transfered to SwSh after having my Switch Oled sent back for replacement (long story but I basically had no choice but to get it replaced ASAP and unfortunately, that also means losing my Pokemon Sword file)

Re: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Footage Shows 60fps Gameplay For Switch 2

Ashina

Wow, it actually runs great now. I'm actually tempted to replay SV again. I've stopped playing the game after the DLCs and maybe did some few Terra raid battles. After that, I just didn't bother with the game again unlike with Legends Arceus

They need to do this with the other Switch Pokemon games as well. Legends Arceus would be perfect with that performance boost
