Update:

We've been advised by Nintendo that it has "nothing to announce at this time" regarding this rumour. You can take that to mean whatever you want, but that's the line we've been given.

Original Article:

We do enjoy juicy console bundle rumours here at Nintendo Life — the sensible ones, at least. A fresh piece of tittle-tattle to land in our inbox today does seem rather feasible, with suggestions that Nintendo is bringing a Mario Kart 8 bundle to the market; Europe is a 'confirmed' region to date.

This rumour is from gameblog.fr, which cites good-old anonymous sources to state that it'll be a 32GB Black Wii U with a copy of the game and a 7-day trial to Wii Karaoke U. The same sources have apparently provided the following concept box art, too.

MK8 Wii U Rumour

Hardware bundle rumours have a mixed record in recent times, with a number coming true and the now-notorious Luigi 2DS being a custom mod. As we've suggested above, it seems feasible and indeed advisable for Nintendo to release a Mario Kart 8 hardware bundle, yet this is only a rumour — treat with a healthy dose of scepticism at this point.

Rumour tag aside, do you think Nintendo should release a Mario Kart 8 bundle, and would you expect it to sell well at retail? Let us know in the comments below, and we'll be sure to keep you posted on any updates from Nintendo.

Thanks to Jack Treese for the tip.
