If you've seen pokemon in the last decade, you'd know they prioritize profits over a quality product. Scarlet and Violet were hilariously bad and mocked when they came out. Legends Z-A was a broken game upon release with DLC that should have just been in the base game. It's very clear that The pokemon company is pioritizing profits rather than creating quality games.

I'll buy the valuable games that are actually good. Believe me, I steer far away from the underbaked messes like Scarlet and Violet.

Realistically these 20+ year old games should be 10 at the most expensive. Still, they are better than modern pokemon games (as low of a bar as that is). It can't be helped that the pokemon company is inherently anti consumer.

They don't want you to own things. The virtual console is a thing of the past. I will say it's a nice surprise we finally have a good pokemon game on the switch though.

Well at least we know where they're putting the money for the next game. I eagerly await the return of the ocarina of time trees.

You have to buy the new nintendo cardboard. The old model of cardboard is simply not compatible.

@metaphysician I'm not conceding anything. The switch 2 is not a powerful device for it's price point. Much of it's tech specs are outdated. It's specs are certainly not on par with the current gen of video game consoles.

Here's hoping they release a game that isn't a half baked mess with constant frame drops and png windows this year!

Some of the ultra beast designs are actually nice for modern pokemon. It's just a shame they're stuck in a game with a 4 hour tutorial and way too many unskippable cutscenes.

It'll be okay. The nintendrones will buy anything nintendo puts out so I doubt they'll be in financial trouble any time soon.

Should the price be lower for 2015 hardware releasing in 2025? Yes
Will it permanently go lower when the company in question knows the consumers will buy it up no matter the cost?

Most of the games tracks are just ripped from the 3ds games and even the few new ones are so bland. Of course, the slop enjoyers will buy it so it will have no problem in sales.

Having a modern pokemon game on the cover is such a failure. This would be like if the hyrule historia had the cdi games on the cover.

It just looks like an upscaled version of the 3ds game. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they're just ripping the textures for everything from that.

Slop will always sell to those who have been conditioned to eat it up.

Not surprising at all. Ps5 is s far better value and has good current day hardware unlike the switch pro.

@AverageGamer true. The devs barely know how to code a game for the switch. They wouldnt stand a chance coding a game on modern day hardware.

Same probably goes for most nintendo devs. Theyre too far behind.

Exclusives is all nintendo has going for it. If anything, the games would look and run better on superior ps5 hardware. Some games like pokemon might actually end up being in a playable state.

Launched with a pathetically small library, specs are laughable for a console released in 2025 and the price point is a joke.
But Nintendo slop will always sell so it doesn't matter.

Unfinished game that costs over 100$ (before you even add in the NSO subscription you need to get certain pokemon that you can only get online).

Does anyone remember when a complete pokemon game used to cost 40$?

And yet they still refuse to fix the multiplayer mode which has been unplayable since release date.

unfortunately seems to be more modern nintendo slop. A shame it won't be able to live up to the original prime trilogy.

I fully expect the ""dlc"" to do similarly well. Then it will be on to the next rushed out unbaked game. The money tree isn't going to dry up any time soon.

It's crazy that this game released with such a huge price tag. It's not different enough from the first game to justify that price. It's just more of the same but with hd and skylanders swap force.

Just like Nintendo's games, it will be unfinished, overpriced and people will still buy it.

Clair obscure is going to win. DK bananza has a chance since some people will mindlessly go for anything nintendo puts out regardless of quality but I think even those people can see the obvious winner.

Legends Z-A is pretty graphically impressive for a ps2 game.

Console has been out for half a year and one of its main features still doesnt work for many games

The botw/totk rito is the only one that looks okay. The rest of them look really ugly to me.

Considering Legends ZA only includes a little over 200 of the 1000 pokemon and still reuses models and animations that have existed since X and Y, it's no surprise. Hopefully palworld will force them to finally create something new.

Sadly this seems to be the truth. People will buy anything nintendo nowadays so they can do whatever they want to at this point.

Remember back when legendary events opened up a new area in the game? Going to Darkrai's island in platinum was great. Now you just get handed a code for a shiny legendary.
