Can someone explain to me how the cost of NSO could be affected in the future? My understanding is that these price increases are the result of increasing Tariffs imposed by the current US administration. However, this is on PHYSICAL products being brought into the country. How does this impact the sale of digital services such as NSO other than simply being another avenue for Nintendo to recoup their losses affected by tariffs? Genuinely curious if someone smarter than me wants to explain it to me, preferably like I'm 10 lol.
For anyone interested in this game or maybe already played it and looking for something similar, I highly recommend Florence. It is extremely similar but with more interactive moments, is longer, and currently on sale for $2
Quick shout out to Spark the Electric Jester 3. It BARELY ran and pretty much never hit it's target of 30fps. Now it's locked at 30fps with no slow down or stutter. Obviously I'd prefer 60fps for a Sonic style game like this, but it still makes an arguably unplayable game very playable.
Just wanted to point out that Alex Garland also directed Annihilation, a very underrated sci-fi horror movie starring Natalie Portman. And to bring it back to videogames for a second, he also co wrote the excellent Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I don't think an Elden Ring movie needs to exist, but they could've certainly chosen worse directors for the job.
I don't know who was asking for this but count me in. Tides Of Time is one of my favorite games of all time and has a criminally underrated soundtrack.
Man it sure is hot right now to dunk on TSR whenever possible. That game still controls a lot better than Cross Worlds and has much better balancing. Cross Worlds is incredibly stiff, drifting is necessary for literally any turn which makes boats very cumbersome to control since they can't drift.
Any word on a version that lets us switch over to the Japanese soundtrack while keeping the English voice overs? I just don't want those bad licensed music tracks in my movie 😅
I think the only thing that REALLY hurt the reveal was the lack of confirmation for details like price, specs, and features, as well as waiting until April 2nd to reveal more. If the April Direct was happening in a week or two from now, I doubt anyone would care as much.
@MirrorFate2 It's perfectly playable, it just doesn't run at 60fps which obviously isn't ideal. I've played through the entire game including both DLCs without any real issues.
@LikelySatan Have you played this game? It's definitely not just a copy of Boost formula. It has a few of its own mechanics that play well with its level design. It also controls much snappier than most Sonic games. Definitely don't be too quick to judge this one.
@Adol-Bannings I mean you're not wrong. This has kinda been Atlus' MO for over a decade now and it always feels really bad when it happens to you.
As for the QoL and new features, we have: New skills for each individual demon separate from their standard move pool. Demon fusion skills/combo skills. The ability to talk to your demons. 40 additional demons added. New Nahobino exclusive skills. Under certain circumstances, players can increase the level cap of the Nahobino and demons from 99 to 150. The speed at which players can distribute new demon skill has been changed, and now offers four alternatives: standard, double speed, max speed, or skip. Some Miracles can be toggled ON or OFF from the status screen. A new item will allow players to reset the Nahobino’s parameters and relocate his stats. Players can toggle minimap rotation ON or OFF in the settings menu. Saving can now be done anywhere in the map. Growth items such as Gospels (EXP increase) and Incenses (stats increase,) can now be used in a batch.
Right now we don't know what if any of this is exclusive to the new Vengeance campaign, like talking to your demons or demon combo skills for example, but I think it's a safe assume all the system focused changes will be available in both the new and original campaign.
@SwitchForce This isn't "small DLC" though. The new campaign is just as long as the original with a brand new scenario, along with brand new content like 40 more demons, demon fusion skills, demons having unique passive skills, being able to talk with your demons, original cast as playable party members, increased level cap to 150, and various QoL improvements.
Interesting. The summary makes it sound like the new story content is entirely optional rather than woven into the original story. Also sounds like it will have a stronger focus on moral choices which I quite like compared to the original's execution of player choice. Not sure where I'm picking this up yet but I'm very excited 🙂
@NinjaNicky I know I saw that. Like I said, I don't blame Jim Carrey at all. He's a fantastic actor playing a role he was given. It's the decisions regarding his character from higher ups that I don't like. These producers spent money for Jim Carrey so they want 90s Jim Carrey (even if he's capable of so much more). Could you imagine if they had casted Jack Black instead? I think it would have been a MUCH better fit
Hot take, but Jim Carrey is a pretty bad Dr. Eggman (not that it's his fault at all). Eggman's personality is completely replaced with Jim Carrey's 90s energy persona, who adds absolutely nothing to the character itself. At least put him in a fat suit so Eggman can keep his visual identity. What we got is just 90s Jim Carrey with a mustache.
Thank you for the review! I wasn't expecting to see one for this game, being that it's Japan exclusive at the moment. Fingers crossed for a Western release!
Umm, shouldn't it be more like "Keiji Inafune, best known for following up his colossal Kickstarter flop, Mighty No. 9, by asking for more money for a second project he was never going to make called Red Ash, then quietly slinking away after losing all credibility and goodwill."?
This actually makes perfect sense to me to be honest. This is when they were buying up studios in order to attain console exclusivity. Because some of these studios already had obligations to other consoles, Microsoft wanted to make things as clear as possible that consumers would need an Xbox for future titles from these studios.
However, because of their past relationship with Nintendo being pretty undefined, they wanted to make them an exception while still staying true to their marketing image. "These games are Xbox console exclusive" "But Ori and The Blind Forest came to Switch and you said that was a console exclusive!" "That's because Switch is a portable gaming device, not a console. Completely different."
Did you know you can actually save more money by just buying Octopath Traveller 2 instead of this bundle? That way you also won't have the terrible Various Daylife taking up your storage space
