Re: F-Zero Isn't Dead - It's Just Sleeping, Says Nintendo Legend Takaya Imamura

tabris95

I think the real problem here is that when Nintendo thinks of F-Zero, they think of the SNES and GBA games, which admittedly had gotten rather stale and sold poorly. Nintendo didn't actually develop GX and so they're not as close to how any of those ideas were received, they just know that like most games that weren't Mario or Zelda, it didn't sell that well.

Re: Best Nintendo DS RPGs

tabris95

@Xenomorth Yeah that's a fair point. I had to leave for work so I just left it at a "this is terrible" which is a bit unfair. I will give them some big points for including Sands Of Destruction and Infinite Space as they're real gems but other games like Sonic Chronicles and Kingdom Hearts Pretentious Random Name Generator have no business being here. What's worse, and this is true about all of these lists so far, is that with every bad game on these lists, they've excluded a game that really deserved to be here. No Devil Survivor 1 or 2 on BOTH the DS and 3DS list is a crime

Re: Two Veteran Sonic The Hedgehog Writers Appear To Have Moved On

tabris95

@Lukandon I don't think you can really say that Colors had the worst writing when you haven't played any of the games that came after it lol. Trust me, Sonic Colors writing was super cringe and yet still somehow nowhere near as bad as Lost World or Forces. It shouldn't have been possible and yet here we are lol

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The August 2020 Nintendo Indie World Showcase?

tabris95

@Coach_A I absolutely don't understand the first point either but as for the second, not everyone likes Roguelikes. The procedurally generated, never have the same experience twice nature of it has a tendency to get very dull and samey for some people as there's only so many ways to rearrange a floor and none of those ways have the same magic as a level that was meticulously crafted with secrets, challenges and set pieces. Couple that with a lot of Roguelike's core design, generally starting out too weak to complete the challenge until you've spent enough time unlocking abilities, powerups or even player level. This means that just by being a Roguelike, you've now added a ton of grinding to someone's favorite genre that didn't necessarily have it before and not everyone wants to do that

Re: Nintendo New York Store Windows Smashed During Riots In Manhattan

tabris95

@Zuljaras Also if it makes you feel better, a lot of the looting and destruction actually started with disguised police who purposely rallied people to loot and destroy for the sole purpose of getting people like you to question the movement. Once the public lumps all protesters in with the looters, their image will be ruined, they'll no longer have public support, they'll easily be labeled as an enemy to the public, and their cause will be forgotten.

Re: Nintendo New York Store Windows Smashed During Riots In Manhattan

tabris95

@Zuljaras It's a desperate tactic that basically equates to that of a screaming child. Do everything you can to get the screaming child to behave but when you've tried everything and they're still acting out, you give them something to make them happy. It's just in this case, what makes the screaming child happy is to stop racism, corruption and police brutality

Re: Slowly But Surely, Nintendo's North American Repair Centres Are Coming Back To Life

tabris95

@sixrings If you actually cared about the well being of other people, you'd hold a company accountable for their actions rather than defending them and placing the blame on consumers instead. If Nintendo actually put out a quality product that didn't require repairs every 9 months like they used to, they wouldn't need to place so much of their staff at risk to make a band aid fix. The"Neglect" you speak of is all Nintendo's. People before corporations man.

Re: Creator Of New Checkout Bot Targeting Online Switch Stock Discusses Backlash

tabris95

@tekknik I'm just saying it looks to me like the intention of creating this bot is much closer to the purpose of buying and reselling Switches for profit than it is to helping a friend or niece like you previously suggested. Which also implies that he knew exactly what this would be used for. To me, setting this free into the world like he did, even without directly using it to resell Switches himself, shows that he wanted to cause a little chaos without having to assume any of the responsibility for it.

Re: Creator Of New Checkout Bot Targeting Online Switch Stock Discusses Backlash

tabris95

@tekknik Actually since his he didn’t sell anything his motive was likely “i want a switch” or “my niece / nephew wants a switch”.

Literally taken from Nintendo Life's earlier article:
I decided to make it as a joke, but I quickly realized just how powerful it could be. Me and my friends were talking about reselling Nintendo Switches, and at one point my friend, nicknamed Bird, told me I should make a bot. And here we are today.

Re: Creator Of New Checkout Bot Targeting Online Switch Stock Discusses Backlash

tabris95

@tekknik So scalping is perfectly fine because people are choosing to pay 300% more than the original price? After all, why should only Nintendo profit from their product? Are you serious? You know who actually benefits from scalping like that? People who actually have the money to horde a bunch of Switches. That takes thousands of dollars to do what some of these people are doing. You know who's actually able to buy them at that ridiculous mark up? Other people with a lot of money who can afford it. You know who doesn't get to buy one at that price? Literally everyone else. This product has now been made unavailable to the average consumer. Choice has nothing to do with it. Rich people will buy what they want. Everyone else gets left in the cold.
