Re: Countdown: 3DS eShop Spotlight - 3D Gunstar Heroes

I appreciated those retro 3D conversions and wish Nintendo had led with more heavy hitters. Sega chose mostly well. Nintendo, meanwhile, went with Urban Champion over classics like any Mario or Zelda title. There was a lot of untapped potential there. Gunstar is just a great game, glad to see it getting some love

Re: Goldeneye 007 Shoots Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch Online This Week

I still have the cart and my trusty N64, but this will be a great way for new folks to experience a part of gaming history. It was such a huge deal at the time, and though it's still a lot of fun, it's seriously dated. It could use a few QOL improvements. A better frame rate would be appreciated, especially during multiplayer

Re: Rumour: Switch Pro Was Real But Got Cancelled, Claims Digital Foundry

Hard to say with Nintendo. If they want to stick with the hybrid approach, they'd most certainly need something more powerful for the next console. I play my Steam Deck a lot. It can handle AAA titles, albeit at a reduced resolution, and it would be nice to see a Switch sequel at least as powerful. Will they learn the branding lesson of the Wii U and call it something that doesn't just sound like a new Switch variant?

Re: Talking Point: What Would You Want To See In A 'Mega Man 12'?

Pixel art would be swell, but I'd like to see the fancy pants pixel art we're getting out of modern titles with the throwback aesthetic. More detailed sprites and backgrounds that have no sprite limit flickering. While new bosses are kind of the norm, it could be fun to have a level where weakened oldies make a return as a series of mini mini bosses or something. Maybe a robot museum exhibit gone horribly wrong or something.

Re: Random: Every Issue Of Nintendo Power Is Now Available To Download

I love my dad. A lot. But I've never forgiven him for pitching my old magazines. At the time, I was a Nintendo Fun Club subscriber. Nintendo sent me issue 1 of Nintendo Power as a preview. I loved it and subscribed, after which they sent me another issue 1. I was meticulous. Both issue 1's were flawless, as were the other several years' worth I'd accumulated. Ugh. I was able to save the Player's Guide and other special Strategy Guide issues, but still, a bummer.

Re: Talking Point: Given The Voice Artist Controversy, Will You Be Boycotting Bayonetta 3?

I think it's helped draw attention to how little voice actors can earn in gaming, but I've had this on pre-order since 2018 when some retailers opened the order window for a short time. It may be pride, but I'm not cancelling it. For Bayonetta fans who wish to play the title without supporting the company, there's always going the used route or borrowing a friend's copy. Some libraries even carry video games these days

Re: Review: Overwatch 2 - Solid F2P Shooting That Doesn't Yet Justify The '2'

For all the spectacular advancements in video game tech since I was a kid, sometimes I'd trade it all for the days of an NES, SNES, Genesis or N64 cart. That was the game. No DLC. No constant updates because a lot of titles were released finished. I can't fault studios for cashing in if there's money to be made, but I'd rather drop down cash to buy a complete game where everything could be unlocked without further cash
