Re: Soapbox: It's Time For A Zelda 1 Remake, Please

I agree. Most of the main series titles have seen some kind of overhaul. I don't want Link's Awakening remake levels of cuteness, but a graphically enhanced HD version with some QOL improvements would be a great celebration of the first entry. Same for Zelda II. Heck, even a lazy release of their enhanced Satellaview version would be something

Re: Talking Point: What Is A 'Traditional' Zelda Game, Anyway?

A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time are two stellar examples of a traditional Zelda title. Straying from the dungeon + boss + defeat boss with dungeon item was a bit refreshing in BOTW, but I don't want to face another 100 or so shrine puzzles and a few kind of but not really dungeon levels

@AstroTheGamosian A few slower character moments could have helped us feel more connected to what was happening. An animated film that juggled things well would be something like the first Shrek, with some genuine moments that you feel something towards a character and their struggle. I was watching characters I've loved my entire life in this new film, but I didn't experience a single emotion. It was a chance to give some of them a layer or two, despite it being aimed at children

I dug it. Mario fans will likely give the film an 8, 9 or 10/10. Folks unfamiliar with the franchise will probably be feeling more of a 7. It's a delightful, colorful, fun, wholesome family film, but its paper thin plot might not be enough to keep newbies engaged. Still, should make loads of cash, and that's spectacular news for those of us wanting more Nintendo films

@Tasuki Dang, looks good! Suncoast, man, where 80s and 90s kids had to go for random, cool things pre-Internet. It's where I found the animated film. I'll try and track this down. Sometimes, folks share entire episodes of older programs on YouTube. So long as it's not streaming somewhere or still for sale, it usually passes the checks

edit: It is. I do not know if it is the entire series, but this is a playlist I encountered https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAyEMDTcKiA&list=PLp6qwra-AnZAmRurBuMdvEPoPmzlAgAgB
