Re: Random: Valve's Latest Steam Deck Trailer Briefly Shows A Switch Emulator

I love my Deck. Great at Steam titles on the go, and sure, it emulates. A lot of things. Really well. If Nintendo didn't want their current gen console emulated, they should have made it more powerful under the hood. I love my Switch, but I my own purchased Switch titles look and run better on another device. Higher resolution and 60fps. Community graphics packs. Etc.

@electrolite77 I'm sorry we have to feel each other's pain. I'd say Nintendo, at times, isn't much better. They tried their own line of 3D Classics on the 3DS and led with heavy hitter Urban Champion. And they gave Kid Icarus backgrounds so they could do that one. No Super Mario, no Zelda, nothing that could really have jumpstarted the line

Re: PSA: Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 Is Now Available To Pre-Order In The UK

@Dimey I feel like when they do try, they do it wrong. There was a nice collection of 3D classics from Sega on the 3DS. A few arcade gems in there for sure. But the choices weren't their most popular titles. Same with the Sega Ages on Switch. Some heavy hitters, and some really bizarre choices, too, while once again leaving out their biggies. Arcade1UP has made one Sega cab and for their 1st outing they chose Golden Axe and its sequel, the Revenge of Death Adder, to headline, which were both overlooked on those collections I mentioned. It's almost like they're choosing what to do by throwing darts at an idea board

For folks who are pumped, that's awesome! But I don't want to support the idea of sequel micro consoles from the same console's generation. Were it a horrendous-looking Genesis with a 32X and Sega CD attachment with nothing on it but 32X and Sega CD games, that would really be something, but they had their chance with Genesis games last time. While some Sega CD titles are present here, it's not enough to make me part with 100 bucks. Sega should look into some kind of emulated collection like Capcom's Arcade Stadium. One for Genesis, another for Dreamcast, etc. Or heck, just their stellar arcade titles

Re: Feature: 12 Nintendo Games That Deserve An HD-2D Remake

I disagree with HD remakes from the SNES era. The graphical style is part of the charm. It is frustrating that the years back updated Chrono Trigger is available on Steam and mobile, but not on a Switch. I'd support widescreen versions of the titles you mention with some QOL improvements, but the titles I wish to see score HD upgrades are NES and GB ones. Like Link's Awakening. While the SNES pulled off some gorgeous visuals, things in the GB and NES days were still kinda creaky and would benefit the most from a makeover

Re: SEGA Genesis Mini 2 Games List - Every Mega Drive And SEGA CD Game, All 61 Titles

For a while there I was grabbing all the micro consoles. But they just sat around looking pretty. Another Genesis isn't what most fans were hoping for. They could have easily crammed most of these onto their first release. If it was just CD titles, that would be something. Make a micro Sega CD attachment, it'd be cute. Ideally, Sega would just put out some stellar compilations for modern platforms and PCs. Genesis, Dreamcast, Saturn, etc., which can all be emulate quite well

Re: Talking Point: How Were You Introduced To Metroid?

Samus and I met back in 80s when the game was new. Nintendo Power wasn't a thing yet and there was no internet, so friends were our best resource. While visiting a friend of mine, he showed me Metroid and Kid Icarus, two titles I'd never heard of but suddenly had to own. The graphics were impressive at the time and I recall loving the atmosphere and fast-paced gameplay

Re: Take A Peek At Some Classic TMNT Concept Docs Included In The Cowabunga Collection

Waiting for a review. I grabbed the Castlevania and Contra collections at launch and was bummed with the video options. While there was a 'none' filter with looked great, there was no option to pair it with sizing. It didn't reach the height of my screen, if that makes sense, whereas Retroarch handled oldies the way I want for free. I'd rather pay for these classics, but I also want them to have more screen real estate
