Because your previous review of a Genesis compilation that had crazy input lag with Sonic 1 and 2 didn't even mention it, is this compilation free of such an issue?

Sega. I have titles they put out years ago that still have unpatched bugs. Hopefully, with a title this visible, they'll actually do something about it

I really loved this title. I'm approaching it as an 80s/90s kid who already loved the original TMNT arcade machines and admit I'm super duper biased, but it's a lovingly created homage to those days. The only weak link for me was some of the music. I didn't dig the redone opening theme, but respect rights issues to that tune in particular are kind of a nightmare. A shame there's no DLC planned. The ability to play as some of the characters we find through exploration would be a hoot, but it's kind of a small miracle this was allowed to exist. Most rights holders would want a turtle game based on the current version, and it's cool the stars lined up for this

@neufel You bet, man. Thanks for checking it out, it's one of my favorites. The same author did a great Power Rangers title and even remade the NES game 'The Karate Kid' with better graphics and sound. Last I checked, he was working on a DX version of Fall of the Foot Clan for Gameboy

It uses the OpenBOR engine. I've run it on PC and Mac, even added it to my Steam Deck. It's so polished that you'd swear it was a legit release

TMNT is a blast. Seems lovingly created, too. Beautiful animations. It's like what a 90s side-scroller would have done with today's tech. Very cool

If I were to hazard a guess, the character's removal was an attempt to remove what they considered an offensive stereotype. Which it's not, as it was based on an actual human being. Like Disney changing the name of Boba Fett's ship from Slave I to something forgettable, it's a solution in search of a problem that wasn't even there

SP additions are not titles

I think folks want Mother 3 released officially because most countries didn't get it and not everyone is cozy taking the emulation route. I gladly played Mother 3 (translated to English) and enjoyed the experience. Most of the appeal for me is the graphical charm and quirky combat/dialogue. Can't fault folks for being passionate about it when, as a promising series, it came to a halt. It's made all the more frustrating by Nintendo offering Earthbound characters in Smash, reminding us that the franchise it important, but not important enough to move forward

GoldenEye for me. I was a big fan of the film and somewhat surprised when, as Tomorrow Never Dies was hitting theaters, the new N64 title was covering the previous film. But they delivered with a fantastic shooter that mostly faithfully followed the film. I recall enjoying Agent Under Fire on Gamecube as well.

That would be totally triumphant!

I played 1 and 2 out of order, but they were a hoot. Especially 2, it felt like a roller coaster

I'm a massive Bill & Ted fan but can't get pumped about this. It's leaving out some other releases (Lynx and home computers), but almost every B&T title was of seriously bogus quality with frustrating controls and objectives. The Gameboy adventure is passable

I had it on Sega CD and SNES. Still do, but prefer the arcade rom itself. Better colors, all the characters

Loved the original and still have my cart, but I'd prefer to see a graphically updated version with a few QOL improvements that we've gotten used to since the late 90s. Release the original to the Switch Online service, though, or feature it bundled with an updated version as an unlockable

In true classic Genesis/MD fashion they should have made a micro console sequel that could attach to the base of our existing Genesis/MD minis

I pre-ordered Bayonetta 3 in 2018, so... maybe some news on that in 2022

Nintendo continues to punish their fans while offering no legal means to obtain what's being removed from YouTube. They don't even have to make these albums available for purchase, they could simply stream them from their own YouTube account. Loads of artists already do that

The basic subscription doesn't need a demo. It's the next tier level that does to rope in existing base sub users

I dig the Japanese cover, but it's almost the same for the US release of Turtles 2 on NES.

@BlueMonk That's a solid point, especially if you're alright using codes from Eneba, then the prices drop even lower. Grabbed the Nickelodeon All-Stars title for four dollars

Why do folks insist on comparing the two? I have both and they're very different products that tackle very different things

What's the idea needed here? It's a racing game. Like Mario Kart. Each console generation sees new tracks and racers with whatever QOL bumps the new console offers. That should be the plan. Nintendo doesn't need to reinvent the wheel to justify bringing back a popular franchise, an excuse they've offered many times

If the idea was to catch the attention of a kid at the time, the NA box gives at least some idea what you're in for, whereas the J release can be used to tease bulls

Thanks for the look back. As a kid, I remember loving the SNES original and the N64 entry, which I still play to death. I dug the music in the original StarFox and would love to see some of those themes make a return. Really, at this point, if they just took the Starfox 64 3DS title as a template and created a new batch of stages every few years, I'd pick it up. Use bombs wisely!

@samuelvictor The maddening bit is people wrote Sega. It's not a little-known problem. But they never bothered to fix it. The Sega Ages release of Sonic 1, though was great. Felt like the real deal

What's incredibly embarrassing is that this hasn't already been released by Nintendo. Their Switch could run NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBA, N64, Gamecube, Wii, and that's just their in-house consoles. To give the Switch Online service some legit value, these should already be a thing. There should be an overabundance of titles and consoles to enjoy. If we look at the online streaming classics angle as a streaming service, it's beyond poor. Netflix, Hulu, etc., none of these companies asked for a subscription from customers by dropping 40 things to watch and then trickling out a few every month or so. It's laughable that this is Nintendo's answer to fighting ROMs
