Re: Nintendo Will Stop Selling The Original Switch From February 2027

rjejr

@Dimjimmer Are you aware that quote you posted is from April 2025, about 15 months ago? Nintendo said people "still have an opportunity" to buy a Switch, and they have had that opportunity for the past 15 months, and now another 8 months. That's basically 2 years. Nintendo didn't say they were going to keep selling it forever. Had they said this recently I'd agree with you.😁

I've pointed out Nintendo hypocrisy many many times over the years, they are prone to it just like any other big company, but this isn't that. Making your older hardware available for 2 years after your new hardware goes on sale is giving people the opportunity to buy it. Not ever lowering the price of that old hardware for a decade does suck though.🤑

Re: Nintendo Will Stop Selling The Original Switch From February 2027

rjejr

Edit: I just read the "in Europe" words at the end of the first paragraph and that changes things a bit in my mind. For one, this may just be a threat to try and get the EU to "grandfather" those consoles in or push the date back for 10 year old hardware. Or, Japan and the US and the rest of the world keep getting them, for awhile at least. Either way, I bet this isn't the last we've heard about this. Things change.

Holy cow. Announcing the Switch and OLED are going away next year doesn't surprise me, but I thought they would keep the Lite around for a couple of more years at least. Not every parent can afford or wants to spend $500 on what they may view as simply a "kid's toy".

Of course if Nintendo wants to start selling a $300 Switch 2 Lite next year whenever the next gen Pokémon games Winds & Waves releases, well I suppose that's OK. I'm just really surprised they would announce the Lite going away before announcing the Lite 2.

If there is no Lite 2 next year we may see the worst selling release of any main line Pokémon game ever.

Re: Nintendo May Be The Last Bastion Of Physical Games As Xbox's Project Helix Is Set To Ditch Discs

rjejr

@Olliemar28 a la cart(ridg)e

Nice.😂

I think Nintendo could keep physical next gen all depending on how 1 game sells physical vs digital. Well 2 games really, Pokémon Winds & Waves. That feels like a physical game sale to me. And millions of them. S&S 27mil, S&V 28mil.

https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon

After Switch 3 it's over, but that's like 15 years from now, the planet may just be a burnt cinder.🔥

Re: Talking Point: As Sony Bins Physical, How Long Until Nintendo Follows Suit?

rjejr

@dartmonkey (although any retro-futurist would surely love to see how thin they could make a PS6man)

An historian could show you the PSP Go from 2009, Sony's first all digital handheld video game console. It was pretty thin.

https://www.pushsquare.com/tags/psp-go

Nintendo will stick with carts for the rest of the Switch 2 life. Switch 3 may even have a slot for carts for bc. So Nintendo gamers might be good for another 15 years or so. After that it's probably over for physical games though.

Most 3rd party games will continue to be GKC, but it's better than nothing, my library carries GKC but not codes.

Re: Round Up: The Final Previews Are In For Splatoon Raiders

rjejr

I'm still on the fence.

Really wanted couch co-op, and more a story w/ some villians like DKB got which assures an end game, but what is here looks fun.

I'm also thinking about getting it since it's been months since I've played on my Switch 2, it's just sitting there. Starfox was never my thing - on rails shooter that's an hour long - and Yoshi just looks like a coloring book with little in the way of fun. And I can't think of anything else I want on Switch 2 ( I have a PS5 forv3rd party games) which is crazy after that big Direct. Is Xenoblade Chronicles 4 imminent?

$50. We can probably get $50 of fun out of salmonid slaughter.

"Made it so the player can hop right away after being hit by Kamek’s magic or Bullet Bill.
Adjusted conditions where the player can do a Jump Boost by shaking the controller when racing on top of the water."

If we can jump by shaking the controller why not just add a jump button? I'm pretty sure there are a couple of unused buttons for this came, or at least duplicate buttons, we could use 1 of those for jump.

Can we remap buttons yet? I didn't like any of the buttons they chose come to think of it. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I'll hop back on while riding out the heatwave, haven't played it in about a year.

Re: Nintendo Treehouse: Live Returns Tomorrow With Even More Splatoon Raiders Gameplay

rjejr

@Olmectron Splatoon release dates.

Splatoon 2015 (Wii U).
Splatoon 2 2017 (Nintendo Switch)
Octo Expansion DLC 2018.
Splatoon 3 2022 (Nintendo Switch)
Side Order DLC 2024.

Considering those dates I'd say Splatoon 4 was due next year. Now it may have been replaced by Raiders, just like it seems like tye next 3D Mario was replaced by DKB, but it shouldn't have been far off. 5 years should be enough between major releases. If anything they're probably just waiting for the Switch 2 install base to get bigger seeing as how you need 8 players at once.

But it's very likely they made this instead. But it could have started as the single player then they decided to make it into it's own game. Maybe they'll tell us some day, but probably not.

Tears of the Kingdom started out as BotW dlc, it happens.

Re: Splatoon Raiders Nintendo Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

rjejr

@JimNorman Nice article. You could have written just a few words and linked to the Direct but you really went above and beyond with the breakdown layout and pics. We'll done. 👍

@AussieMcBucket "Plus, considering all the post-launch updates the Splatoon games get, we may see even more stuff later!"

My greatest concern now about pre-ordering Splatoon Raiders, besides the lack of local split screen couch co-op, is if they lock the post game content behind a paywall like they did with $70 DKB and it's $20 season pass which was announced and released weeks later. DKB gets updates all the time now, but only if you spent $90 on it, the $70 owners get squat. 🤑

Splatoon has been better at this, though it has gotten paid dlc as well. This game looks big and full enough as is, but if I buy it and then they announce a season pass I'll be greatly annoyed. Hopefully they make enough selling new amiibo, we already have 4 from Splatoon, that their greed is satisfied. 🤷‍♂️

Still in my Amazon cart. Waiting to see if Target offers any swag with purchase. I still have 2 of the water pistols from the first game. Thanks.

Re: Preview: Splatoon Raiders Promises The Single-Player Splatting I Always Wanted

rjejr

Nice write up. The author feels like I do about wanting more single player. The invisible levels in the 1st single player were some of my favorite and I haven't seen them again, though I haven't played all of the content since then.

I'm watching the Tree house now. I usually don't but I'm very on the fence.

The lack of couch co-op is a real annoyance. I'm not sure we even know anyone else with a Switch 2 but we have 4 people in my house playing video games. We also have 2 Switch if Gameshare worked so at least my kids could play. The multiplayer is looking really fun right now live.

I'm also worried about Nintendo pulling another DKB by selling me this game for $50 then 2 weeks later telling me I need to pay another $20 for all of the additional seasonal content. Splatoon has been very good at not charging extra for the main game, just selling the single player dlc, but they've changed.

It looks good, worthy of being a $50 game. Wish they had more of a story, like DKB, which wasn't much, but I like being the good guy facing bad guys more than just treasure hunting. Nathan Drake and Lara Croft, based on Indiana Jones as they are, always have bad buys in addition to the treasure hunting. I need a good vs evil story. That would be an easy sale. These guys aren't even trying to leave the island like Pikmin. Give me a 30 day food supply or something. What's the end point?

The fear of more money is my 1 concern right now. Maybe they'll make enough locking content behind amiibo - I already have 4 Splatoon amiibo I'm good - that $50 each will be enough for the rest of us. Plus a $500 console for each player since no couch co-op. Plus I'm assuming paid online. Maybe that's enough money for this 1 game.

Oh look YT Vid. Jim & Maya doing a good job of selling it to me. 👍

Re: Nintendo Treehouse: Live Returns Tomorrow With Even More Splatoon Raiders Gameplay

rjejr

Will be watching with fingers crossed that this is a real full game and not just the equivalent of spin-off dlc. All 3 Splatoon games had a single player game, the 1st game had the best, and it was included. The 2nd game included the $20 dlc in NO+. The 3rd dlc I still haven't played yet but the game itself had a really thorough single player experience.

So the question I want to see answered is: what justifies thus being a stand alone $50 game and not just part of or dlc for the eventual Splatoon 4?

I probably won't watch the Tree house either way, I've played enough Splatoon to know how it works.

Re: 84 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In Nintendo's eShop Summer Sale (US)

rjejr

@abbyhitter I just really want to know if there are any good discounts on AAA games. I can usually afford the indie stuff. Do we get to have a Wishlist in the Nintendo app? I have 1 for Sony, have about 2 dozen games on it, they'll email me when they're on sale.

Wait, come to think of it I dud jyst get an email from Nintendo like that. Maybe the list is on the Switch 2 itself? I really never turn it on. I was so bored the other night I hooked up my old PS3. Not PS4, PS3. In fairness to Nintendo my Wii U, Switch and Switch 2 are all hooked up. And my kid has the Wii hooked up in there room to play GameCube games. So we got games. Maybe I'm just broken.😩

Re: Switch 2's First Year Hardware Sales For The US Have Been Revealed

rjejr

@Liam_Doolan I see Splatoon Raiders made it's way to the front of the list. I see you Liam. 😁

We got our Switch 2 MKW bundle for free, and I'm glad it was free, b/c despite all the games it has been getting and continues to get, my family rarely uses it. DKB was great, 3 of us played it individually (no one wants any part of that lame tacked on 2nd player assist in my house) but that's about it. We've barely even touched MKW. TBF if we didn't own a PS5 I'd probably game on it a whole lot more, but we do great. It is a much improved console for Nintendo only gamers though, Capcom and Squenix are more than pulling their weight.

Hopefully the Splatoon Raiders Direct gets me to me pre-order and there's more to the game than just a short mission based wash - rinse - repeat.

Re: 84 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In Nintendo's eShop Summer Sale (US)

rjejr

3 pages of games listed alphabetical isn't working for me. I'd rather they were ordered by price, discount, score, 1st party, 3rd party, indie. Basically any other way. And I feel like the 3 pages is just for ad revenue and clicks, which makes me feel used. 😝

Oh well, I suppose if there were any standout game sells he article would mention them, so it's probably just the same old same old anyway.🤷‍♂️

Re: Splatoon Raiders Nintendo Direct June 2026: Time, Date, How To Watch

rjejr

@Regulus6891 "You’d have better luck releasing a $49.99 Smash Brothers Single Player Adventure game"

I'd be down for a $50 Subspace Emmisary 2. I wasn't really feeling the single player story in SSB Ultimate.

As several of the comments have already mentioned, my hype is low for this one. I want a single player game like Ratchet and Clank or even Astrobot but this is looking like a $20 indie rogue w/ more repetition than anything else.

But I'll tuen in w/,fingers crossed. Maybe they've just been hiding the story and platforming elements. The single player in 1nwasnraelly good. Great even. Those invisible area levels were some of the best in the series. Nice boss fight at the end as well. I want more of that. We'll see.

Re: PSA: Splatoon Raiders' Daily Prologue Comics Start Rolling Out Today

rjejr

Thanks for the reminder. Looking forward to the Direct next week, hopefully there's more to it than they've shown so far. I really want a good game. I've tried playing DK64 but it's uncontrollable, I don't think N64 controls map well to the Pro controller. And then I tried Wario, which as a GameCube game it still looks like an N64 game. Super Mario Sunshine and Starfox Adventures were GameCube games, Wario is just, a sort of ugly basically side a roller.

So I'm really hoping there's some type of story to go along with the gameplay in Raiders, b/c so far it's looking just very level based, and that's really not my jam. Maybe the daily comics will inspire me though. 🤞

Re: Video: Switch 2 Sizzle Reel Highlights Multiple Third-Party Games On The Way

rjejr

"In terms of first-party releases for the remainder of 2026, Nintendo has..."

@Aquinas Yeah I was going to ask @Liam_Doolan what was up with that? Maybe Nintendo gave it out so it isn't technically 1st party? Or a spinoff doesn't count as a new game? 🤷‍♂️

It's the Nintendo game I'm most looking forward to, though I am waiting until after the upcoming Direct to pre-order as I'm not a fan of rogues. But fingers crossed there's more to it than what we've seen. 🤞

3rd party stuff is coming along great though, with the obvious big whole elephant in the room w/ GTA 6. But Capcom alone is carrying Nintendo's water, at least for anyone who doesn't already own a PS5, or just wants to play handle.

Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Description May Suggest A Faithful 1:1 Remake

rjejr

I haven't played OoT but my experience with any N64 game is that the controls suck so at the very least I would need to know they mapped them to something usable by modern gaming standards. I recently tried to play DK64 and after about an hour I've given up. Not b/c of the collecting or character swapping or anything like that, but b/c my fingers basically find it unplayable. The camera is nearly uncontrollable, it's weird button combinations to pick up things and throw them, it's all just a mess.

So even having never played OOT just knowing it's an N64 game I'm going to assume the controls, based on that whack controller, need a major upgrade and overhaul. And the camera.

My kid played about half of OoT on the 3DS and stopped in part b/c of boredom, but also b/c the camera kept getting stuck everywhere but mostly in and on walls. That shouldn't be allowed to happen in a game in 2026.

So hopefully before this comes out we get a demo so can see if it's worth paying for, I just don't have the time for old trash. I started playing Wario World the old GameCube game b/c I really like 3D platformer, Sunshine on the GC I think was great, way better than Mario 64, but it's just a slow 2D game with a little depth. I may keep playing it to see if it gets any better, but I'm not enthusiastic. It's really really really hard to believe it's Gme ube game and not an N64 game, it's no where near something like Starfox Adventures or Luigis Mansion. Maybe I should go replay that instead?

So hopefully OoT is a modern game and not just a coat of paint and some upres tech, I'm not playing that. Though I'll go play an hour of the original on NSO+ to see what the original is like before making any decisions,

Re: Talking Point: Switch 2 Console Special Editions - What Would You Like To See?

rjejr

Switch 2 TV so that home console gamers wouldn't have to pay for a screen, battery, dock and Joy Con 2 they never use. Maybe it didn't make financial sense during the $300 Switch era and the Lite $200 but $500 is getting to be a significant amount of money, and it can't all be just for the AI sparse RAM. I'd buy 1 and let 1 of the kids take our Switch 2.

Re: New Joy-Con Colours And A Stand-Alone Direct Are Inbound For Splatoon Raiders

rjejr

@chardir "I really like Splatoon so it does look fun"

When they showed the initial trailer last year my first thought was: Wow, this looks like the Jak & Daxter sequel I've always wanted, rather than the games we got.

So I suppose I set myself up for disappointment, expecting a single player story driven game when this now just looks like a rogue shooter.

If you're unfamiliar with Jak & Daxter then Ratchet & Clank, or Starfox Adevture, Sly Cooper, Tak and the Power of Juju. Spyro pre-Skylanders. I have a type, 3D action adventure platformer w/ a story. If there's no story I'm out. Not a fan of Mario 64, DK64 and the like.

If the co-op is couch I'll buy it as a family game. Splatoon somehow never figured that split screen out. Not my favorite genre but fun family games are a limited resource.

Re: 'DK Challenge' Will Put Your NSO & Bananza Skills To The Test For A Limited Time

rjejr

@DennisReynolds I would have preferred them not doing anything to them doing what they've been doing since after DKB released, that is 100% true, no debate there.

Besides doing nothing here's a few other things they could have done instead. I don't see why options should be limited to: do everything exactly they way they did or do nothing at all. 🤷‍♂️

The Emerald island could have been included in the game at release as it didn't release very long after it. Then everyone who paid $450 for a console and $70 for the game could have enjoyed it.

They could have released the island later for free. Yes, I understand people need to get paid for their work, yet somehow the better than I expected GoW:R dlc Valhalla was free for the $70 game. It was a rogue like but it had a different setting and a story that lasted about 6 hours. That was me playing on easy w/o dying, I'm not a fan of rogue.

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/12/god-of-war-ragnarok-valhalla-announced-free-dlc-out-next-week-on-ps5-ps4

They could have released the paid dlc, have content for that, but also put challenges like these in the game.

I don't see why these need to be timed, and I'm clearly not alone in that.

Probably more if I thought about it but I think that's enough.

So given all the stuff they did do, and all the other options available to them, I still say yes I'd rather they did nothing than what the are doing, but I really wish they just would have done at least 1 or 2 things differently. And I'm not the only one.

Re: Video: Xenoblade Chronicles Compared Across Wii, 3DS, Switch, And Switch 2

rjejr

This may be enough to get me to replay XC again some day. It's my favorite JRPG of all time but it's also 100+ hours long to really do everything and I just don't think I want to devout that much time to it again. What made it so great was the 3 big plot points at about the 15, 25 and 50 hour marks (or there abouts) so knowing that it probably won't hit as hard. I mean Gaur was remarkable for it's time but it's time was like 15 years ago. I recently watched my kid replay FF7 and it was kinda trash. And that's blasphemy for me.

Maybe next gen, when I can't afford a new console on Social Security, well what's left of it, or streaming services, I'll find the time.

Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Direct Game In A New Infographic

rjejr

Not crazy about the layout splitting up XC and KH games but it is a lot of games. Even feeling more like a Partner Showcase than a Direct it still has Xenoblade Genesis, Fire Emblem and Splatoon Raiders as new games and Ocarina of Time, Sports Resort and Starfox being brought over in various forms.

Still seems weird to have the big full Nintendo Direct for the year not have any Mario. Especially as the movie recently released. And no I'm not talking about a 3D Mario, that was DK Bananza, but Nintendo usually gives us something. A new Mario and Rabbids, a Mario sports game, Paper Mario seems due, MKW dlc. Mario shows up in a lot of games.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Link's New Ocarina Of Time Design?

rjejr

My kid the Zelda fan said it looks like fan art on Pinterest in 2017, which seemed both very specific and accurate.

I'm one of the old timerswho has been waiting for a Zelda game to actually look like that Space World in 2000 so I say bring it on.

I also say don't announce your big holiday game releasing this year w/ a 1:18 trailer and then just have your big Direct for the year end. If this game really is releasing this year that 1:18 nothing should have been immediately followed by about 2 minutes of game play. For real.

Re: Nintendo Treehouse: Live June 2026 - All Switch 1 & 2 Gameplay Reveals

rjejr

For me, knowing there was going to be a 90 minute Tree house after the Direct I think contributed to my disappointment in the Direct itself. I really thought to kick off year 2 of their $500 console we would get 2 or 3 new games to blow us away that they really felt they wanted a Tree house after to show off. Not 3D Mario, that dev made DKB instead so we gave years to wait now, but Paper Mario, or sports Mario, or a new Luigis Mansion, Pikmin, Animal Crossing. Something new, not just reconfigured ports. And I would have watched some of the Tree house for something new.

But the Tree house started like an episode of "Big Comfy Couch" (US kids show) and went right to Star Fox. They didn't even say what games they were covering, just went right in. So I turned it off, b/c even I've played SF64 and I never even owned an N64. I do own Zero, probably close enough.

If they had said, we'll be showing Splatoon Raiders later, I may have stuck around, or come back. I would have been gone for Groove, don't do rhythm.

So thanks for the breakout, gonna go watch Splatoon Raiders now, and hope it isn't just dlc like the Splatoon games had but sold as a full price game. Or worse, a wash rinse repeat rogue. I just want to play thru a game full of worlds beginning to end, not 4 levels 50x each. Fingers crossed.

Edit: Watched the Splatoon Raiders Vid. At the 16:30 mark where 1 of the guys says "The upgrade loop is really the most important part of this game." has me worried it's not for me. Would have paid $20 for dlc since we own Splatoon 3, not sure about $50. Hopefully the Direct later shows more than $50 worth of amiibo. We already own 4 Splatoon amiibo, we're good.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country Free Switch 2 Upgrade Confirmed

rjejr

@Jeronan Reply part 2 b/c I be like that sometimes. 😁

So, funny story. I was looking for my past comments about paying $20 for a green line on my map in BotW, still haven't found any yet, but I did come across this 9yo comment from you, and I admire the consistency. 👍

"LOL! For MK8 it was ok, as it was cheap priced and added a lot!
But..... 20 bucks for a trial Challenge, a hard mode and map feature????????
That is friggin' insane and a joke! /FACEPALM"

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/02/nintendo_confirms_expansion_pass_dlc_for_the_legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild

I've read a lot of comments from that article and another 1 expressing surprise and a bit of dismay about Nintendo adding dlc to BotW, and the comments were overall negative. A lot has changed in 9 years. Mostly Nintendo getting even greedier, but a lot of people eating it up. Even me apparently. 🤑

Nobody working at NL writes like this anymore. The opening few paragraphs of the article could NEVER be written by anyone today. 😩

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/02/talking_point_the_zelda_breath_of_the_wild_expansion_pass_dlc_is_both_surprising_and_inevitable

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country Free Switch 2 Upgrade Confirmed

rjejr

@Rhaoulos @Jeronan "But charging 12 bucks what literally amounts to a two line code update in a settings file is absurd and greedy."

I hate modern gaming with it's $60-to-start mentality and Nintendo is seriously screwed up with the way it's handled $70 DKB and it's $20 dlc that is required for all the DKB times events and the rest of us who paid $70 get nothing, so I feel ya.

But I have to ask, what 2 lines of code did they write to add ether Jets and multiplayer battle racing to XC b/c I'm guessing they're really long lines. 😂

https://youtu.be/3te4tUQRaGM?si=21WKtuar0HQjkDmW

XC2 added a new blade and story.

"Discover a new rare Blade—and control your Blades to fight in mercenary squad battles.

Not only is there an additional Blade out there for you to find—along with a quest to complete—but you can directly command your Blades in a new action battle mode!"

https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/xenoblade-chronicles-2-nintendo-switch-2-edition-upgrade-pack-switch-2/

Not saying I'm happy about paying $10, but it's dishonest to say it's just 4k/60fps, which should be free, when they've shown more than that. With Nintendo we're almost lucky it isn't $20, like Nintendo charged me to put a green line on my map in BotW.🤑

Edit: My green line comments from a decade ago.

"I'm all for Nintendo making some extra money with a new story, but that map line and fast travel really does seem like something that should be free in an update. I'm not saying Nintendo is charging $10 for this, but not everybody wants or has $20 to spend on DLC. It's just a line on a map, shouldn't be locked behind a paywall at any price, not $0.99 or $0.49. If they want to pay wall it, any amiibo, any of them all, should unlock it. Almost every Nintendo fan should own 1 amiibo by now. But a line should be in a free update. I'm OK w/ charging for hard mode, don't want it, and Sword cave of trials, don't need it."

"My feeling with the map line is, after it comes out the non-line version is going to look broken in comparison. Like something that SHOULD be there isn't. That isn't DLC to me. DLC is extra, like a skin or hard mode. Having the map function differently just doesn't strike me as paid DLC, it's an update. Updates should be included for everyone who paid $60 for the game. Make the game free-to-start if we need to pay for a line on the map. "

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/05/nintendo_reveals_the_master_trials_the_first_dlc_pack_for_the_legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild

Now how do I get all these upgrades to my Wii version of XC, that's the 1 own? 🤪

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Picked Up Pace For A Breathtaking Finish

rjejr

@Scarmucci "This was a Partner Showcase masquerading as a Nintendo Direct."

That's the best comment in this thread and I've read most of them. Helps explain how I feel about the Direct which I couldn't quite figure out. 👍 5 out of 10 for me, I own a PS5.

It's funny though, the poll results seem to be much higher than the comments. 2/3 really enjoyed it, 1/4 meh, 1/10 didn't like it. Comments seem a lot more negative, more like 50-50. Probably a lot of people who liked it don't waste their time commenting, but if you didn't, this is the place to vent. And then be vented at. 😝

Re: 'DK Challenge' Will Put Your NSO & Bananza Skills To The Test For A Limited Time

rjejr

@Mattrizzle Thanks for the NSO+ correction, gonna go fix it when I'm done with this never ending reply.

@Friendly $500 US. I know there's been a lot going on lately but do try to keep up. Also we have tax where I live, it's basically $500, like $492.🤑

You were right about this not being NSO+ though, gotta back and change that, a lot going on here too. 😂

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2026/05/nintendo-announces-sweeping-price-hikes-for-switch-2

@mutenroshi Breaking news - the first 2 words in my comment were "timed exclusive" and you never explained why you need that to make money, just nitpicking an argument that wasn't there. There will also be no film at 11.

@LastFootnote That's always the other side of the amiibo coin isn't it - we don't want game content locked behind plastic, but we want game content for our amiibo purchase. This all seems a bit much though coming from Nintendo who not all that long ago was saying we don't do dlc we release finished games, and online was free. And timed content isn't getting a lot of love in this thread.

Re: Lies Of P's Soulslike Puppetry Comes To Switch 2 This August

rjejr

@DiceRobo A lot of these were announced, or shown, in a Sony State of Play a year or so back. And it was funny b/c a lot of them also has 3 word titles like Lies of P, Where Winds Meet, Tides of Annilation, Lost Soul Aside. Stellar Blade might have been in that one as well.

And I was really hoping Nintendo was going to bring it with a lot of color today, maybe a new Paper Mario, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, Luigis Mansion, but mostly what Switch 2 got was all of Sony's old brown games. I was kinda getting deja vu.

Re: Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition Slashes Its Way Onto Switch 2 This Month

rjejr

Feels like Capcom is carrying the Switch 2 more than Nintendo, perhaps they should have launched the hardware?

DmC 5
RE 5 (V for Veronica)
Dragon's Dogma 2
Monster Hunter Wilds
Onimusha

I'll take those over wheelchair basketball, Tomidachi and Sports Resort. XB Genesis made me happy but Starfox and OoT are both N64 games. Capcom's doing the heavy lifting.

Re: Kingdom Hearts 4 Confirmed For Switch 2, New Gameplay Showcased

rjejr

My kid and I watching this both thought KH4 was already out and we were waiting on KH5. 😂. That's probably b/c we bought KH3 so long ago but never played it b/c 2.8 was never on sale or in any of the bundles we own. Might be time to go search for them all. I think I own 1 & 2 on PS2 discs but don't own a PS2 to play them, but a compilation or 2 is around here somewhere. Or maybe digital. This series is such a mess. 😝

I really hope Xenoblade Genesis is stand alone story wise, even if it's a sequel to 3, just don't bring it up. No on are OK, they're like chocobo.😂
