I haven't played FF7R but I watched my kid play Remake on PS4 then watched my other kid play Integrade on PS5 before the first kid played Rebirth. So I've spent a lot of time looking at this game. And it really isn't all that visually impressive until the final boss fight. So Switch 2 shouldn't really have a problem with it.
Ff7 Rebirth is an entirely different thing though. It's a massive world filled with tons of stuff. So before purchasing FF7R you might want to ask yourself, am I OK waiting for the 2nd part of the trilogy, which may take awhile, or maybe not even arrive at all, or be a "cloud" version?
I think it's worth playing ahead of Rebirth, but not stand alone.
Oh, and if you need more incentive to wait, Squenix gave FF7R Inetergrade FOR FREE to anyone who pre-ordered Rebirth on PS5. Not saying that will happen on Switch 2, probably not, but maybe they'll toss it in fir an extra $10 or $20.
I'd at least wait for the still unnamed FF7 Part 3 official announcement to see if it's day and date on Switch 2. Though I suppose knowing Squenix if enough of you don't give them your money now they'll use that as an excuse not to give you the rest.π
@TheExile285 Graphics first, gameplay second. Devs probably figure it's easier to upgrade performance later than graphics. And with seemingly every game getting updates these dates no reason to wait to release it.
@Nintendoid720 I've read about the button swapping but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. Maybe after the summer is over and I start playing it more. Thanks for the reminder. Pretty weird though that Nintendo can make a system wide button swap mode but they can't add it in MKW, but they did in DKB. But I'll try.π
@Vyacheslav333 I have to think there's something going on with Hoyoverse at this point for none of its games to be on Switch 2. The Switch may just have been too much work.
And as much as Switch fans seem to like farm sims Infinity Nikki is doing a big Stardew Valley crossover in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure people would play IN on Switch 2.
I'm shocked. Can I please make B the jump button in MKW? And R the gas. And A Items. And L drift. Besides those changes the MKW button mappings are just lovely. π
Haven't started DKB yet but I'm thinking I will be changing B to jump, yes. Thanks Nintendo. For the Option, not moving jump to something else. Though if A is jump and B dig I can probably live with that. Knowing Nintendo down on the D-padbus probably jump. Or L. π
I only started playing MKW a few weeks ago when we got our Switch 2 and I agree w/ the negativity here, though I mostly have my own reasons.
I don't like the MK controls. I thought Sakari was making fun of them yesterday when he said "you don't have to hold down a button to go, you just go". I know MKW has that as an option but it feels like not playing. I would also like a jump button.
I do think it's unfair to compare it to MK8 DX. The DX is in that name b/c that game came out years after the base game on Wii U. And a lot of people complained about that game as well, mostly the lack of real battle arenas. So you'll have to wait for MKW DX on Switch 3 to make those comparisons.
I've been playing a lot of Disney Speedstorm since it released and driving in that game feels so much better. And it looks so much better as a PS5 game. Haven't tried it on Switch 2 yet but I want to to compare. The game is basically only a trial at this point, the matchmaking sucks, it's too pay to win, and it's a seriously over expensive Gatcha that probably should be illegal, going after little kids like that, it's atrocious. But the racing is smooth. It works like MK w/ an emphasis on drifting and items, but it works. I haven't spent a cent on it, there's enough free stuff to race an hour a day offline, and on without a paid subscription. It's fun racing. The devs dud a great job. Too bad the money managers completely greeded it to death. Alice in Wonderland track soon, then Winnie the Pooh. I suggest all the complainers check it out.
@Jireland92 Yes? I mean have you watched any of the Batman movies this game is based on? Joker kills a guy with a pencil through his eye. Bane kills just about everybody. Robert Pattison is really emo. π
And all of that is live action, fake blood. Cartoons are cartoons. Harley Quinn is a comedy. I think it's a better fit for Lego. And HQ is very colorful like Lego blocks. Did you watch the trailer for this? It's practically black & white. Minus the white. π
@AverageGamer Yes the deal only closed in 2023 but it was announced in 2022 so MS could have begun working on the game then. Or asking Activision too. What good is a 10 year deal if you never actually have to start it. How long do you give them before it becomes a legal issue? What if they just say - Sorry, we tried, but no go. Or what if they say - Sorry, but we lied b/c we wanted our purchase to go through? What's the point?π€·ββοΈ
@xmkbest Kid Icarus Uprising is my favorite game I've never played. Both my kids played it and we talked about it all the time. I'm not a handheld gamer and I've been waiting ever since to be able to play it on a TV sfreen. Maybe some day. Or a sequel.
I think this will do well though. Plenty of other games to play for us.
Anyway I voted for Indy on Switch 2 b/c I think it might be 1 of the few next gen games on Switch 2, giving hope going forward. OK sure MKW, DKB and Kirby Air Ride are all technically "next gen only" but none of them look like Indy. Now there may only be a handful of 3rd party next gen only games out there, MS kept X One alive for awhile, but it's still a win.
Best reveal of the day today for me was Danshattack but I suppose it isn't coming to Switch 2 if it isn't here. Too bad, looks fun, and Switch 2 can probably run it. Maybe it will get a late port.π€·ββοΈ
@no_donatello I'm a big Uncharted fan, 2 is my favorite "interactive movie" as I called it at the time b/c it was just that good, and I like the new Tomb Raider trilogy more than most - never could deal with the original games tank controls - so I was the target audience for this, but I can't. It's not even just not liking it, it just doesn't play right for me. To be fair I don't have an Xbox so I never tried Indy but I don't need to. But I would, and will, if they ever add 3rd person. Could happen.π€·ββοΈ
@AverageGamer "Each CoD has a 3-4 year development cycle."
Well the deal was announced 3 years ago, so there's that. Maybe they should have made the deal - If you let us buy Activision then 10 years from now we'll put on CoD game on Switch 3. π
@gaga64 Maybe this will motivate you to play the games in your backlog while you wait a few months for this to go on sale. And then you can add it to your backlog. π
Not a fan of first person so I skipped it and will continue to skip it unless thry add in 3rd person view like Avatar is doing but this is still a nice big win for Switch 2. It's a "next gen only" game so that's something.
Now where's CoD Microsoft? Click is ticking on that 10 year deal. But this is still a win.
Hasn't Batman already had a couple of Lego games? They should have made a Lego game based on the Harley Quinn cartoon, it's hilarious. OK maybe not the most kid friendly at times but they could work some Lego magic w/ the characters and make it a family game.
Any chance Matt Berry is the HQ Bane? That would make me optimistic.
Edit: Nope, just looked it up, James Adomain. Oh well. Maybe Alan Tudyk will show up. Oh who am I kidding of course he will.π
Just watched the trailer. Did they get Eric Cartman to voice Batman? Not a fan.π
@xmkbest It looks to me, as someone who never played the original, that this is a sequel to the original, that came out 22 years and 4 console generations after the original, that is treating itself like a sequel from last gen 5 year ago. ie Sakurai just assumes this is another Smash or Mario Kart situation that we are all very familiar with so he's just explaining what's been added b/c everyone knows all the rest.
I know I won't be playing it. I was too old for the original, I'm ancient now. This looks like a game for ADHD competitive esport TikTok kids to go at it, not me. Nothing at all wrong with that. It will probably be a welcome relief to everyone underwhelmed by MKW, and maybe my kids will play it with their friends, but I'm out.
To attempt to answer your question - yes this seems to be the only battle hub world arena, at least that we've seen so far. I don't think it looks small for what they want it to be. It's not a sightseeing map, it's a battle arena w/ multiple pop up competitions and the entire thing only lasts 5 minutes.
Who knows, maybe if the game sells well he'll make dlc arenas?
I have to say, for the first 20 minutes I was bored out of mind and couldn't believe a sequel to a 22 year old game that was 4 generations of consoles ago just looked like a remaster of that game, but City Trial was something else. The ADHD of racing games in a 3D Smash. Quite impressive. More for the TikTok generation than this old man but I can see it becoming very big. Congrats.
I'm not buying a controller with the button faces in the wrong spot. OK maybe on clearance at Target for $9.98 b/c I'd be looking at the price and not notice the buttons.π
Still good to see so many cheap options for little kids or imaginary friends and pets. Ya all know how weird some people can get. 5 years in and 3rd party PS5 controllers are still $60 or more, still don't understand that. Or $150 3rd, or 1st, party controllers .
Will be waiting for cheap Joy Mice for Mario Party Jamboree. As long as it takes, no rush.
I hope you guys got paid well for this advertisement. π
I really wish Nintendo would make a dock like this that let's us see the screen while charging so we could use it as a nightstand clock, calendar, music player, whatever else you can think of. I can understand a little why they covered it up for the Switch, so people didn't think it was a Wii U 2nd screen situation, but after 8 years I think we've figured it out.
Our Switch 2 rarely leaves the dock, and I'm sure about $100 of the price is for screen I can't see, so let me use it. π€
Pikmin 5. Luigis Mansion 4. Paper Mario The Next Chapter
For launching new hardware recently Nintendo, 1 of tye biggest gaming devs in the world seems to have forgotten to make games for it. Or at least tell us about them.π€ͺ
If you want to play most of the above games buy a PS5, you can probably find it easier and cheaper than a Switch 2, and the games will probably run and look better on it. What are we even doing here?
If you want games on a cheap(er) $250 Switch 2 Lite to just play portably let's wait until they announce that first. Otherwise, if you can afford the Switch 2 versions of 5 games on that list, you can probably afford PS5 and the games on that console as you'll be saving money b/c PS5 games actually go on sale.
Better yet, buy a PS5 and play Infinity Nikki andvtye Hoyoverse games for free. Think of all the money you'll save.π
@The_Nintend_Pedant The Switch 2 is PS5 deja vu. PS5 had R&C and Switch 2 has DKB. PS5 had PS4 dual ports galore, Switch 2 has MP4 and I'm sure some others will follow once Nintendo has a Direct show up so we actually know about some more games.
1 big difference, it took a long time for PS5 to be on store shelves, I saw 5 or 6 Switch 2 in Target yesterday. So I don't think you're the only 1 bailing on Switch 2. I have 2 college age kids who will never move out b/c jobs are low paying but rent is sky high so our Switch 2 will get plenty of use, no regrets, but it's not exciting. Hopefully the next Direct has something. That Spkatoon solo game looks good.
Do you have a PS? I'm not a PC gamer, Sony is my 1, even if the PS5 is just the PS4 Pro Pro w/ not much to show for itself. Free to play games look nice on it. I'm probably done gaming after this gen. Hopefully my kids will get jobs and move out some day and I'll just retire with my backlog. Not sure I can afford a new console on Social Security anyway. I turned 60 last month, it makes you think.
@The_Nintend_Pedant Or equal amounts, in the case of Astrobot. Which I haven't played yet, but the first 2 were good.
I had a long conversation about Nintendo w/ my wife at dinner. Told her how GameCube was the best hardware of it's generation. How Starfox Adventures was 1 of the best looking video games for about a decade. Then the Wii was 1 1/2 GameCube duct taped together w/ motion controls. Then the Wii U was the Wii in wide-screen HD, then the Switch was the Wii U as a handheld, and now the Switch 2 is a Switch w/ 1080p and possibly some 4k. And if you look at games like Paper Mario, Smash and MK they still basically look like the same game since the GameCube. Nothing looks like an N64 games except N64 games, I'm not blind. But the main series games since Melee, Double Dash, TTYD and Twilight Princess really haven't changed all that much. Yeah WW was a GC game too and TP was on Wii but since TP on GC. Yes the games look better in HD on HD TVS but stylistically pretty much the same.
OK it was mostly me talking but my wife has thoughts, she bought me my PS1. π
So yeah, indies stepping up and stepping in. Drag X Drive not helping at the moment. Is GameCube also the birth of both Pikmin and Luigis Mansion? I know neither series is huge but I feel like they were both innovative. SPlatoon has that too on Wii U, and Sports on Wii, but it feels mostly samey. Which is the case for most of the industry I guess. I suppose I just want more. π€·ββοΈ
Thinking about picking up Might & Magic for $10, my wife wants to replay it she has it on her 3DS, and thinking about Penny Breakaway for $15. I'll ask the kids.
@The_Nintend_Pedant I think they're hoping to get a few ARMS sales for $42 from all the people talking about how much better that game seems than Drag X Drive. Only half joking. π€ If ever a game should be a $20 or even $30 Player's Choice Selects it's ARMS. (I know that's a week old comment but the article is on the front page again.)
Yeah not a fan of most if that. Hoping it works better as competitive racing music than track touring.
Didn't realize Switch 2 physical was 2026, that's a shame. I know Switch 2 will play the Switch version but there should be a very obvious graphical difference between the two. Maybe Switch version has a BF sale and I'll upgrade later.π€·ββοΈ
I'm guessing the first "news" he shares is the game not releasing in 2025. π
I'm still not sure what the appeal of another racer is w/ MKW out there and Sonic releasing soon but a release date would be nice anyway. Same for MP4 which I probably won't play but it's different enough and I appreciate how many people have been waiting for it for a very long time. MP4 also feels like a very big dual release game so maybe we can finally see what Switch 2 can really do compared to Switch. Nintendo said the original Switch can't handle MKW or DKB so if Switch can handle MP4 I'm curious to see it compared to Switch 2.
And then maybe we can finally see some more new games b/c people spent over $400 on a new console and while we know about a bunch of games now it's very quiet after that. Way too quiet.
Nintendo fails their own "summer vacation event" by having it so late in summer a lot of kids will already be going back to school by then. I know it's a Saturday but it's late summer. I would have accepted "end of summer skills event". Anyway I'll be moving my kid into college that weekend so I'm out.
I also fail the skills event b/c I can't remember to keep pushing the A button to go and I keep trying to drift w/ L.
Oh, and the person above me just reminded me we don't have NO.π
The "pretty mixed" reviews all seem to basically say the same thing and vary all the way down firm 5/10 to all the way up to 7/10. So basically more uniform than pretty mixed.
Just a reminder that Splatoon started out w/ "paint the floors" then added several fun modes that had some variety. Of course it also looks like Platoon, and sounds like Splatoon, and this has none of that, but maybe.
Though thinking about ARMS maybe not.π€·ββοΈ
This could have been a free bundle w/ a pair of Joymouse for 2 player splitscreen. Or a minigame in the $10 tutorial. Or thry could have just bundled it w/ the Switch 2 w/o MKW and then talk about how it "sold" 15 million copies.
Agree with the above comments, it's not worth putting your $400 console in a 3rd party dock. It just isn't.
I watched a dock teardown video on YT where I learned the built in fan is for the dock motherboard, it's blocked from the Switch 2, so that wouldn't be a concern for me. Power supply would be though. I think the dock motherboard needs the fan b/c of the built in ethernet port being on it potentially making it hot.
An $80 racing video game in 2025, made by a company that's been making video games for 40 years, and we can't swipe buttons in the settings. I feel like racing games for decades have had R for gas, not A, and a jump button would be great with all the walls and rails to jump on. And drifting, which is basically a break, should be Ltonatch R for gas. I really can't play it like this, such a disappointment.
@datamonkey I suppose stock articles could replace game articles the way reality shows replaced music videos on MTV since it seems to take like 5 years to release a new game in any series now.π
My kid is looking to get a new headset w/ their $70 in Best Buy rewards from their laptop purchase on Friday, so I'll be following these comments to see all the better recommended ones. I bought them an Xbox banded set for Christmas but they said it's uncomfortable.
Here's the thing though. The 10-1 split made the stock price go from 60,000 to 6,000 YEN. And if you loom at the graph in the article it does look like the stick, price was 6,000 in October of 2022, but it was not 60,000 1 day before that. Which makes me think these financial companies that make these graphs must reconfigured them back through time to adjust to the current price, otherwise people will be wondering why the stock, price dropped 90% in 1 day. Which it did,Mon the say thru split it 10-1, but it isn't in the chart.
So the chart is probably historically accurate, and gamin websites probably shouldn't be covering stock prices.π
Edit: Sorry for all the typos, not sure what's up with that.π€ͺ
Edit 2: Looked up the Apple stock price, they split a few times, the last was 4-1 in 2020, the the chart does historically rewrite everything to reflect the current price. Seems very weird, but also seems the way it works. Kinda funny how Nintendo's share price was 60,000 3 years ago and now it's 40,000 but that old share price is just poof gone. π€·ββοΈ
I appreciate all the comments above getting all financial about share counts and such but can we get the actual context of the broader market values at the same times? It's been a while since I watched CNBC but I'm guessing this is the Japanese stock market info so I'll try to work from there best I can.
Nikkei 225
October 2007 - 15,680
August 2025 - 41,820
So in the same years that Nintendo doubled the broader market nearly tripled, so Nintendo is under performing the market by a bit and a lot of that share price gain might simply be attributed to "a rising tide raises all boats". Not all of it obviously, but if you're going to go back 18 years you sort if need to look at the broader market as well. The Nintendo chart and the Nikkei chart are very similar since 2000.
Good for Nintendo though, double is better than half. I'm sure Sega doesn't look too good if you go back to 2000. Oh, quick check, Sega Sammy has also doubled since 2007. It is down 50% from 2010 though. π€
Voted 7, would have been an 8 or even 9 had they simply finished going through the games rather than pull a Woodsy the owl trying to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop going 1, 2 3 crunch. They were already making the Direct, they already gave us 48 hours notice to watch it, they got Erica and Tyler to narrate it, so, why not make it 25 or even 30 minutes and do all the games? Sizzle reels are fine in the middle of a 40 minute long full Direct but I think anyone already watching could spare the 10 extra minutes.
Thought it was better than the Partner Direct, seemed like it had more graphical variety for 1. 3 years from now I will probably have played more of these. I mean it's only like 2 or 3 of these and only 1 or 2 of the other but that's still more and this was only 15 minutes.
I think my kids will certainly play more of these. That Partner Direct wasn't good.
Waiting for a full Direct now, preferably before Gamescon to date all of those games. It's a lot, w/ a few still do this year. The calendar is winding down.
"(for full transparency, Ziff Davis also inherited a minor shareholding in Hookshot Media, the parent company of Nintendo Life, Push Square, Pure Xbox and Time Extension)."
Thanks @Damo that was very professional of you. π
Good for them. Wonder how long they can last solo before getting bought up again? Though I suppose if they could afford to buy their freedom they can afford to keep it. They'll do fine w/ YT subs and the like.
It certainly looked nice for an Indie Direct game. This and that Herdling game. I feel like the indies tend to really like the pixel stuff but maybe they don't want to compete w/ Squenix HD-2D stuff. Or maybe they're just getting bored w/ it too.
Just a reminder that Silksong was also playable, it that it was played live, on Treehouse, 6 years ago in 2019.
Not a demo for the public, but they did play it. Said Team Cherry was wrapping it up.π€ͺ
Gamescon needs a Direct to date all this stuff. I'm not a big Prime guy but may get it just b/c Switch 2 is light on games I want to play at the moment.
While I will read the reviews before dropping $20 on what is probably fairly short dlc, we won't need it until my kid is back home from college Thanksgiving weekend, so we have time. But we almost certainly will. I'm hoping it's like Bowser's Fury, about 6 hours. Easily could be more if they add ice areas to every previous area in the game and we're playing through it again, like the Luigi levels in Mario.
I am glad we own it on Switch though, don't think I could $80. Got DKB on sale for $63 and that actually looks like a next gen Switch game to me.
I expect to see all the people complaining about game key cards complaining even more when every game in the Direct is digital only b/c the devs found out people don't like GKCs.π
If there's a single game I want to play in it I'd be surprised. I'm not even interested in Silk Song.
@GrailUK I'm happy that they feel they have enough disposal income to buy a Switch 2 if they are only going to play full physical games on it. B/c that means they aren't going to be playing a lot if 3rd party GKC games and not playing a lot of games that are digital only. It's a lot of money to spend on a limited subset of games.
Similar to people who buy record players now. Target sells like 6 albums. Unless you like old records or have a previous collection I wouldn't recommend buying a new record player now to start a collection from scratch unless you can really afford it.
@AussieMcBucket Silksong, the turn based tactical strategy game.
It really is ridiculous how long it's taking. They already made Hollow Knight, this was just supposed to be dlc. Put a few more levels together, done.
Oh well, soon now I suppose. Maybe tomorrow? It's the only reason we need a new Direct after 1 last week. Almost half of that Partner Direct could probably be considered Indie. π€·ββοΈ
@The_Nintend_Pedant I keep all our controllers - there are 4 of us - on my table, which is why I had to buy a bigger table. Thankfully Switch Pro, I mean 2, still let's me use all my Switch controllers. We'll except for mouse mode, so no Jamboree for us. Somehow we wound up w/ 5 PS5 controllers, even though our PS4 controllers still work, b/c drift, and absurdly short battery life.
The no power on thing annoys me more than game key cards though. The old Switch Pro controller should do it at least. And the old Joycon. Smells fishy.
@The_Nintend_Pedant That just means you're walking to the Switch 2 every time you turn it off rather than turn it on. I recently bought a nice new side table for all my controllers to be in 1 place.
Sorry if you were just making a joke,I did giggle, but it doesn't really make a difference before or after. π
$30 is a nice price for a kid to play Paulina in DKB or race a bit in MKW. I still don't think you can find a PS5 controller for less than $70.
The wake thing is kinda weird. Feels like something Nintendo must be breaking rather than unable to get it to work. You'd think they'd at least get the Switch Pro to do, those aren't cheap.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Director Has Had "Positive Discussions" With Nintendo On Switch 2 Port

And all of that is live action, fake blood. Cartoons are cartoons. Harley Quinn is a comedy. I think it's a better fit for Lego. And HQ is very colorful like Lego blocks. Did you watch the trailer for this? It's practically black & white. Minus the white. π
Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Will Launch On Switch 2 In 2026
@AverageGamer Yes the deal only closed in 2023 but it was announced in 2022 so MS could have begun working on the game then.
Re: Kirby Air Riders' City Trial Mode Looks Just As Bonkers As We'd Hoped
@xmkbest Kid Icarus Uprising is my favorite game I've never played. Both my kids played it and we talked about it all the time. I'm not a handheld gamer and I've been waiting ever since to be able to play it on a TV sfreen. Maybe some day. Or a sequel.
I think this will do well though. Plenty of other games to play for us.
Re: Round Up: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 - Every Switch 1 & 2 Announcement & Trailer
Not too excited for any of these. Starting to think there's a Geoff K curse, the more he's involved the less I'm interested. When did he start being around? Made need to research that. Is it's his fault Sony went all in on live service GaaS? π©
Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Will Launch On Switch 2 In 2026
@no_donatello I'm a big Uncharted fan, 2 is my favorite "interactive movie" as I called it at the time b/c it was just that good, and I like the new Tomb Raider trilogy more than most - never could deal with the original games tank controls - so I was the target audience for this, but I can't.
Maybe they should have made the deal - If you let us buy Activision then 10 years from now we'll put on CoD game on Switch 3. π

Re: LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Swoops Onto Switch 2 Next Year
@gaga64 Maybe this will motivate you to play the games in your backlog while you wait a few months for this to go on sale. And then you can add it to your backlog. π
Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Will Launch On Switch 2 In 2026
Not a fan of first person so I skipped it and will continue to skip it unless thry add in 3rd person view like Avatar is doing but this is still a nice big win for Switch 2. It's a "next gen only" game so that's something.
Now where's CoD Microsoft? Click is ticking on that 10 year deal. But this is still a win.
Re: LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Swoops Onto Switch 2 Next Year
Hasn't Batman already had a couple of Lego games? They should have made a Lego game based on the Harley Quinn cartoon, it's hilarious. OK maybe not the most kid friendly at times but they could work some Lego magic w/ the characters and make it a family game.
Any chance Matt Berry is the HQ Bane? That would make me optimistic.
Edit: Nope, just looked it up, James Adomain. Oh well. Maybe Alan Tudyk will show up. Oh who am I kidding of course he will.π
Just watched the trailer. Did they get Eric Cartman to voice Batman? Not a fan.π
Re: Kirby Air Riders' City Trial Mode Looks Just As Bonkers As We'd Hoped
Re: Kirby Air Riders' City Trial Mode Looks Just As Bonkers As We'd Hoped
I have to say, for the first 20 minutes I was bored out of mind and couldn't believe a sequel to a 22 year old game that was 4 generations of consoles ago just looked like a remaster of that game, but City Trial was something else. The ADHD of racing games in a 3D Smash. Quite impressive. More for the TikTok generation than this old man but I can see it becoming very big. Congrats.
Re: Gulikit Launches New Budget Controllers With Switch 2 Wake-Up Support
I'm not buying a controller with the button faces in the wrong spot. OK maybe on clearance at Target for $9.98 b/c I'd be looking at the price and not notice the buttons.π
Still good to see so many cheap options for little kids or imaginary friends and pets. Ya all know how weird some people can get. 5 years in and 3rd party PS5 controllers are still $60 or more, still don't understand that. Or $150 3rd, or 1st, party controllers .
Will be waiting for cheap Joy Mice for Mario Party Jamboree. As long as it takes, no rush.

Re: Review: ANTANK S3 MAX TV Dock Station For Nintendo Switch 2 - A Decent Little Travel Dock
Our Switch 2 rarely leaves the dock, and I'm sure about $100 of the price is for screen I can't see, so let me use it. π€
Re: Feature: 32 Games We're Dying To See On Switch 2
Re: 59 Switch Games You Should Pick Up In The 'Play Together' eShop Sale (North America)
Re: 59 Switch Games You Should Pick Up In The 'Play Together' eShop Sale (North America)
I suppose I just want more. π€·ββοΈ
Re: 59 Switch Games You Should Pick Up In The 'Play Together' eShop Sale (North America)
Re: Sega Drops OST Remix Video For Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Yeah not a fan of most if that. Hoping it works better as competitive racing music than track touring.
Didn't realize Switch 2 physical was 2026, that's a shame. I know Switch 2 will play the Switch version but there should be a very obvious graphical difference between the two. Maybe Switch version has a BF sale and I'll upgrade later.π€·ββοΈ
Re: We Might Be Getting An Update About Sakurai's New Kirby Game Soon
Re: Mario Kart World Announces 'Summer Vacation Skill Test' Event
Nintendo fails their own "summer vacation event" by having it so late in summer a lot of kids will already be going back to school by then. I know it's a Saturday but it's late summer. I would have accepted "end of summer skills event". Anyway I'll be moving my kid into college that weekend so I'm out.
I also fail the skills event b/c I can't remember to keep pushing the A button to go and I keep trying to drift w/ L.
Oh, and the person above me just reminded me we don't have NO.π
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Drag x Drive
Re: Best Nintendo Switch 2 Third-Party TV Docks
Agree with the above comments, it's not worth putting your $400 console in a 3rd party dock. It just isn't.
I watched a dock teardown video on YT where I learned the built in fan is for the dock motherboard, it's blocked from the Switch 2, so that wouldn't be a concern for me. Power supply would be though. I think the dock motherboard needs the fan b/c of the built in ethernet port being on it potentially making it hot.

Re: Mario Kart World: All Control Options And Assists Explained
An $80 racing video game in 2025, made by a company that's been making video games for 40 years, and we can't swipe buttons in the settings. I feel like racing games for decades have had R for gas, not A, and a jump button would be great with all the walls and rails to jump on. And drifting, which is basically a break, should be Ltonatch R for gas. I really can't play it like this, such a disappointment.
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Is Now Double The Height Of The Wii Era
@datamonkey I suppose stock articles could replace game articles the way reality shows replaced music videos on MTV since it seems to take like 5 years to release a new game in any series now.π
Re: Turtle Beach Announces Officially Licensed Budget Headset For Switch 2
My kid is looking to get a new headset w/ their $70 in Best Buy rewards from their laptop purchase on Friday, so I'll be following these comments to see all the better recommended ones. I bought them an Xbox banded set for Christmas but they said it's uncomfortable.
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Is Now Double The Height Of The Wii Era
@datamonkey Good call on the stock split. Nintendo split 10-1 just 3 years ago in September 2022.
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/29/nintendo-carries-out-10-for-1-stock-split-to-lure-new-investors.html
Kinda funny how Nintendo's share price was 60,000 3 years ago and now it's 40,000 but that old share price is just poof gone. π€·ββοΈ

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Is Now Double The Height Of The Wii Era
@ArcadeSixties Thanks, I think.π I've been commenting on here for 17 years, that may be nearly as long as some of the writers have been alive. π
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Is Now Double The Height Of The Wii Era
The Nintendo chart and the Nikkei chart are very similar since 2000.
https://www.investing.com/indices/japan-ni225
Good for Nintendo though, double is better than half. I'm sure Sega doesn't look too good if you go back to 2000. Oh, quick check, Sega Sammy has also doubled since 2007. It is down 50% from 2010 though. π€

Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase August 2025 - Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer

Thanks @Damo that was very professional of you. π
Good for them. Wonder how long they can last solo before getting bought up again? Though I suppose if they could afford to buy their freedom they can afford to keep it. They'll do fine w/ YT subs and the like.
Re: Futuristic Deep Sea Adventure 'Glaciered', Swims Onto Switch 2 This Winter
It certainly looked nice for an Indie Direct game. This and that Herdling game. I feel like the indies tend to really like the pixel stuff but maybe they don't want to compete w/ Squenix HD-2D stuff. Or maybe they're just getting bored w/ it too.
Could see myself giving this a go.
Re: Metroid Prime 4, Elden Ring, Silksong All Playable At Nintendo's Gamescom Booth
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2 Upgrade For Kirby And The Forgotten Land?
While I will read the reviews before dropping $20 on what is probably fairly short dlc, we won't need it until my kid is back home from college Thanksgiving weekend, so we have time. But we almost certainly will. I'm hoping it's like Bowser's Fury, about 6 hours. Easily could be more if they add ice areas to every previous area in the game and we're playing through it again, like the Luigi levels in Mario.
I am glad we own it on Switch though, don't think I could $80. Got DKB on sale for $63 and that actually looks like a next gen Switch game to me.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
I expect to see all the people complaining about game key cards complaining even more when every game in the Direct is digital only b/c the devs found out people don't like GKCs.π
If there's a single game I want to play in it I'd be surprised. I'm not even interested in Silk Song.
Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey
@GrailUK I'm happy that they feel they have enough disposal income to buy a Switch 2 if they are only going to play full physical games on it. B/c that means they aren't going to be playing a lot if 3rd party GKC games and not playing a lot of games that are digital only. It's a lot of money to spend on a limited subset of games.
Similar to people who buy record players now. Target sells like 6 albums. Unless you like old records or have a previous collection I wouldn't recommend buying a new record player now to start a collection from scratch unless you can really afford it.
Hope that helps.π
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Thursday 7th August 2025
Almost half of that Partner Direct could probably be considered Indie. π€·ββοΈ
Re: Review: Gulikit Elves 2 Controller For Switch & Switch 2 - Wake-Up Support Can't Make Up For The Downgrades
Re: Review: Gulikit Elves 2 Controller For Switch & Switch 2 - Wake-Up Support Can't Make Up For The Downgrades
@The_Nintend_Pedant That just means you're walking to the Switch 2 every time you turn it off rather than turn it on. I recently bought a nice new side table for all my controllers to be in 1 place.
Sorry if you were just making a joke,I did giggle, but it doesn't really make a difference before or after. π
Re: Review: Gulikit Elves 2 Controller For Switch & Switch 2 - Wake-Up Support Can't Make Up For The Downgrades
