Sounds a lot like "The Last Campfire" that I played on Apple Arcade. Only that game was very colorful. For only a few hours I'd pick this up on a subscription service but $25 for a few hours of dark blurriness is nuts. Do they know Silksong is only $20? π€
Edit: So, funny story, apparently The Last Campfire is also available on Switch. And it's "only" $15.
@AmplifyMJ Dad of the Year right there.π If it makes you feel any better we got ours a couple of months ago but we rarely use it. Fortunately my wife's job gave it to her, in the bundle with MKW and a 256GB SD card, for working there for 10 years, so it didn't cost us anything, so I'm not too flustered by its current lack of use. It's time will come. Probably after football (NFL) season. We watch all the football. π
@AmplifyMJ Congrats on the Switch 2. You really holding out until Christmas? That's some serious parenting. π I remember when I was finally able to get a PS5 nearly a year after launch. We did Christmas Thanksgiving weekend, tree and everything, so we could play while my kid was home from college. π
My other kid isn't coming home from college this year, says it's too much work, which it is a week before finals, kinda sad. They'll be home for the holidays 2 weeks later. Maybe playing this.
I played both of those on the Switch, guess I'll go check if my save files came over. I played BotW on the Wii U so it works for me thry skipped that game.
Is there no amiibo support? With the price they charge for those they should work in every game.π€
Thanks for the honest opinion and talking about the price. I feel like too many reviews never mention the price. To be fair most games are $60 or $70 so we know the price beforehand, but for things like this I think it matters.
I was going to buy it b/c FOMO but you talked me out of it, thanks. GoW Ragnarok had a similar dlc w/ an interesting story that took me about 5 hours to beat. Price - free. Which it should be when we pay $70 for the game.
DKB released for $70 just 2 months before this. Exclusively on a $450 console that people just bought. Come on man.π€
I don't know who Sylux is but that amiibo looks familiar. Is there a chance I have a Dark Samus amiibo or something from Smash or another Metroid game?
Edit: So we do own that Sylux looking amiibo. We do not own normal Samus but we do own the Captain America looking version in the Dread 2 pack w/ EMMI. Also Metal Rudley I believe. Certainly don't need any more. Picked up the Dread 2-.pack for $15.99 clearance at Best Buy, a good price.π
So has Nintendo told us what all of these crazy expensive toys to life do in game? You should be able to mail in the 3 bar codes and get the game for free. π€
I thought this was a trailer for a spin-off game, something akin to Link's Crossbow Training on Wii, and at the end of the Direct I wondered why they hadn't shown MP4. It was only hours later that I found out the motorcycle was in MP4.
So that's how out I place I thought it was. I also thought it looked very dull, like a Wii game, the last trailer we saw was kinda epic and inspiring, this looked like it could have been MKW dlc, probably will be. Paid. π€
I'm sure we'll see a lot more before Release, it could work. Skells in XCX rock. π
Nice infographic. Just focus on the games and leave out all the crazy expensive $40 & $50 amiibo and $100 stand for NSO+EP rentals. Do we know how much that flower is yet?π€
I like the breakdown. MG 1 & 2 not having a Switch 2 edition is insane. I guess you have to have a $20 upgrade to count, not a free update, but still, why no Switch 2 box art to put on the shelf next to the others? Does even Nintendo not want to pay it's own Switch 2 64GB cart tax? Look into this @NintendoLife π€·ββοΈ
But I do like it. Lots of games on both but Switch 2 still has a few. Even not counting the screwing over once again of people who bought the base game but can't get the dlc in Wonder. It's Wii U all over again, only without justification.π
Anyway Switch 2 has Yoshi, Age of Impisonm, tennis, Kirby AR and MH Stories 3 as next gen exclusives, so it's not nothing. Plus a lot ports I really don't think Switch had any chance of running, so that's good too. π
Thought we were getting Switch vs Switch 2. Won't know if I'm getting this until I see that.
I'm not too flustered by the price if the Switch 2 version looks like a modern 4k/hdr game but I never bought the "limited edition" 3-pack b/c I always assumed this 2-pack was coming. I'm also assuming the people most bothered by the price did buy it. Which is fair.
Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 for $70 > 2 Kirby amiibo OR big piece of plastic for $100
The Nintendo Pay-to-play Direct in all it's greedy glory. π€
After that "Nintendo Pay-to-Play Direct" yesterday full of paid upgrades, paid dlc, amiibo, plastic flower, VB plastic, I realize now that Nintendo is the Jakks Pacific of video game companies. This is all so crazy. It wasn't THAT long ago when Nintendo was proclaiming "We don't do dlc we do complete games." And look at them now.π€
I own Labo VR, this is that but in red. If Labo doesn't work with it then that means Nintendo has to go out if their way to make it not work, to break their own stuff. Though Switch 2 will not fit in there, but VB is on Switch. It's crazy they haven't addressed it yes or no.
The other thing I realized last night while contemplating giving this a try if Labo worked, NSO+EP is only available for $50 for a full year. There is no option to pay say $9.99 per month or $19.99 per 3 months to try stuff like this out. You have to pay $50, that's your only choice. We'll also $90 for the Family plan, but 1 year only.
I'm OK w/ $20/yr for NO, hard to really break that up any smaller, you have $20 or you don't. But $50 can be carved up, I just gave 2 examples. I can't think of any other gaming service that has 1yr paid in full up front as you only option. Yes the others are more expensive but $50 isn't $20. I've never had +EP b/c we always get NO Family for $35 and I'm not paying the extra $45, that's more than the base price, it's backwards. No other service costs more for the add-ons.
@Dom_31 This not being interactive in 2026 is ridiculous. At least make it a big amiibo then that does something in the game. Or put a clock face in it's mouth. Nintendo has become the Jakks Pacific of video game companies this gen, even bringing back the cardboard. π
@Chapapa "not interactive" I'm assuming is simply their way iof saying it doesn't work like every other plastic device that we purchase for our homes these days, no voice commands. I'm guessing it says phrases when we press the big button.Thats not "interactive" by today's standard.
@Ooyah just said Mute button which is a thought, but if it's not interactive and we want to mute it there's probably an off-on power button on the bottom, which would in effect mute it. In which case 3D print your own at home.π
It bothers me how so many of their paid dlc are $20, like they aren't even trying to come up w/ a fair price, if it's dlc it's $20. Games like Kirby they can at least say, look, it's $10 to make the game look better, that takes work, and $10 for the extra dlc content. BotW and TotK both have $10 upgrades each b/c there's no new content, you're paying for the graphics update. But DK Bananza is already a Switch 2 game, we aren't paying for a graphical upgrade, we're just paying for a little extra content. The just released base game is $70, is this $20 dlc equal to 30% of the original game content? I'm guessing not.
This really probably should have been included w/ the $70 game at no extra cost, DK Bananza isn't free-to-start, but $4.99 sure why not. They also sell a $30 amiibo, so it's now $120 if you want it all . Could have at least unlocked the dlc w/ the $30 hard dlc.π€
@Max_the_German Yes it does look like it, but I haven't seen it confirmed yet. So I think it should, but we don't know.
I just checked to see how much it would cost to sign up for a month or a few and apparently there is only a 1 year $50 option. I'm not paying $50 to try out some VR games. They really need like $19.99 for 3 months of something like that to jet people try stuff out. $20/m would be $80/yr so most people would just pay the $50 but I'd pay $20 to try it out, we don't game online.
That Japanese announcer is definitely pre-ordering this, he was very excited.π
I could see me borrowing this from my library to play thru story mode, which probably only lasts 5 or 6 hours, that's enough tennis for me, my family is over it. Wonder dlc will be enough for family time.
I gave it an 8, but it was a really hard Direct to vote on b/c :
First, it was 2 Directs in one. Mario Anniversary for 20 minutes which I'd give a 9, then 40 minutes of other stuff I'd give a 6 b/c it was too long w/ too much filler. What even was that mobile looking circle game?π
Second, it depends if you own a Switch, Switch 2 or both. If you only own a Switch I'd say you're doing rather well, still getting games like MP4 and the Galaxy 2 pack. If you splurged on the Switch 2 you nay gevleft wondering why after watching that?π€·ββοΈ
Third, I call this the Nintendo Paid Direct. Paid dlc, pay for physical dlc amiibo and plastic or cardboard, pay for upgrades,,oay for NSO+EP, all after just paying $450. So much pay to play. So if $ isn't an issue, probably great for you to see. If you spent most of your disposable income on a Switch 2, well it kinda sucks.
But I rounded up to 8 b/c it distracted me from world news for 3 hours. An hour to watch and 2 to discuss. And the world news mostly sucks, so I was glad for it. We'll at least the Mario part. Probably should have turned it off after that.
Should have been it's own Direct. 20 minutes is long enough, and then we could have had the other 40 minute Direct a few weeks before or after. I mean look how thry glossed over MP4.
It was all at the beginning, would have been simple to break it up.
It was good though. Looking forward to the movie, maybe replaying the Galaxy games, and a new 2D Yoshi. Amiibo being 6 months later is typical Nintendo.π€
Big news. Even w/o dates just knowing the other 2 are coming is nice. And just knowing Squenix thinks Switch 2 can handle part 3 is great as I'm sure they'll be pushing PS5 into Pro territory with it.
@Olliemar28 Possibly just my limited reading comprehension but doesn't this subheader:
"And they're 'Enhanced for Switch 2'"
mean the opposite of this 2nd paragraph sentence:
"It doesn't appear that this release will be enhanced for Switch 2 in any way,"
I'm trying to keep up, I know you're busy busy, but it kinda matters as we have a Switch 2, and both games on Wii if I wanna pop them in the Ole Wii U which we still use. I'd pay for 4k HDR though. π
Having watched my kids play both the PS4 and PS5 version I was impressed with how good this looked. I wasn't a fan, they took the first 6 hours of FF7 and added in 34 hours of filler, but the ending was good.
Mario amiibo a full 6 months after the game is so Nintendo. Hopefully they're working on Galaxy 3 between the 2 pack and the movie. I wasn't a fan of Odyssey.
Amiibo are just too expensive now for us unless Target has them on clearance for half price. The motorcycle Samus is probably going to be $30 or more.
Nintendo Paid DLC Direct - Amiibo, Virtual Boy, new dlc, day 1 dlc, and after you spent $500 on a new console most of the games are still on Switch, where you can buy the game but not the dlc π€
@Greatluigi I definitely thought it was Builders 3 but I forgot what the series was called, just knew they were up to 3. That considered it could have been Monsters or Jokers or whatever, so many DQ spinoff games.
I've only played 8 and 11, both great, so considering this. Also considering 1, 2 & 3 but I don't like 2D HD, much prefer this graphics style.
Edit: My mistake, I was thinking Heroes 3, not builders. Though now that I think about it I may have been confusing the 2 spinoff series, I thought World Tree Woe was Builders. So. Many. Games.
Wow OK that is so funny that wax MP4 on the bike? I thought it was some weird spinoff game like Freedom Force only on bikes. Then at the end my brain read it as MP 2 for some reason so I thought it was a remaster.
Wow they're big holiday game and they just kind of dropped it in there. And the bike looked ridiculous. Wow. I need to watch that again later when it's stand alone on Switch. I knew an hour was too long.
@Max_the_German Can we use Labo VR? I have one sitting right here in front of me. If they are selling a new cardboard version but we can't use the old one that's messed up. Not that I'll be subscribing to NSO+EP anyway, not until it gets a better name.π
It's a $70 game that just released, this could have been in it or free. Is it really $20? Amazing how every Switch 2 update or dlc just happens to be $20, they must be working very hard to make sure they all get $20 worth of content, not $5, $10, $15, $25 or $30.π€ Should only be $10 since they seem to be saying the upgrade dlc from Switch to Switch 2 are $20 b/c it's an upgrade plus dlc but this is just the dlc.
This whole Nintendo Paid DLC Double Dip Direct has left a bad tadte in my mouth after really enjoying the 20 minute Mario Direct. Really wish they would have split it, Mario today, the rest last week or next week. Oh well.
@kmtrain83 Are you really that worried about games that have a few generations each becoming overdone? Phones come out each year so that makes sense.
I'd be OK if they did something new w/ Luigi or Pikmin, like I'm OK w/ DK Bananza instead of 3D Mario, but I'd like something big AAA, not just Drag X Drive.
That does remind me I still need to play Peach and Brothership. Maybe there aren't too many new Switch 2 games b/c they were making Switch games?
@PJOReilly Why wouldn't it be, they're releasing weeks apart? Switch is 8yo hardware so I can't really blame them. It looking worse to me on PS5 than Disney Speedstorm was kind of surprising though. Which reminds me, I've been meaning to go download Speedstorm on Switch 2 to see how it cares to the PS5 version. Has to be better than Sonic but that's not a fair comparison w/ the Switch version.
@AverageGamer Yeah I just wrote a long reply about Pikmin just above this, it probably is too soon to even announce that. I'm not counting a port, remaster or remake of TTYD as a new game though.
New Paper Mario games have released just about 1 every 5 years from 2000 Paper Mario to 2020 Origami King so this year would be right on schedule to announce a new game.π
@kmtrain83 Luigis Mansion and Pikmin both went from being very single player only focused games to having very good multi-player co-op, so I'd say they already changed it up. Pikmin even had a 2D sides roller on 3DS. So while some change is always appreciated both those game series have grown. I don't need a new game every year or even 2 but it's hard to get only 1 game per console generation when a generation takes 8 years. I'm old. I remember PS1 getting FF 7, 8, 9. Wii got 2 Mario Galaxy games. Wii U hit 2 Spkatoon games and Switch a 3rd. I don't think Splatoon has changed all that much.
It feels like it's been long enough. Especially as sometimes it takes a year or more between a game being announced and released. Like 7 years for Metroid Prime 4. So I don't need those games released this holiday but announced for next year would be nice. We waited like a decade for Pikmin 4, and that was after announcing it was nearly complete.π
I was looking forward to this but it looked really bad on Switch 2. But it didn't look all that great on PS5 either, so not expecting much in the Switch 2 version.
I always want a new 3D Mario game but wasn't that DK Bananza? Didn't the same people make that? If it was a different team then by all means bring it on. Seems to soon for a new 2D Mario. Maybe they'll just cover Wonder in ice for $20.π€
Pikmin 5 Paper Mario Luigis Mansion 4 Yoshi Crafty 2D
Galaxy 1 & 2 packaged as Galaxy Complete for $70 would be nice. I almost never double dip for for those 2 remastered in 4K w/ HDR I would. Will skip if just ports.
Woke up this morning wondering about this. Glad they skipped 9/11 and held off until Friday giving us 48 hours notice.
This almost feels like the make or break Direct for me for my early adopter Switch 2. We really know little about next year besides the Splatoon spinoff and Hyrule Warriors 3. We need some new games for next year to get excited about. And probably a couple of upgraded ports, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is still waiting.
Games that seem due or overdue - Luigis Mansion 4, Pikmin 5, Yoshi Crafted 2D, Paper Mario. I'm leaving off long overdue 3D Mario b/c we got DK.
I voted 6, "not bad", b/c it is hard to say it's bad w/ the first new Mario Kart in a decade and a brand new 3D Donkey Kong fir the first time in 2 decades.
But I didn't go any higher than 6 b/c it doesn't feel any higher than a 6. And I think that's a marketing problem.
Metroid Prime 4 is finally coming after too many years but somehow still isn't dated yet beyond 2025, which is now nearing it's end. They showed a new SPlatoon spin-off game that looked really interesting, but just that one look. And we really have nothing after that. Where's the next Paper Mario, Pikmin or Luigis Mansion? It's been several years since we've had new games in those series. Or 2D crafty Yoshi or Kirby? That 3D Kirby game is a few years old now, dlc not withstanding.
I was in Target yesterday and there were 6-8 Switch 2 just sitting there on the shelf. The Wii was sold out in NY for about 2 years. PS5 for about a year. Switch 2 for 3 months and now where's the interest?
So Switch launch feels like a 6, and will probably continue to do so until the next big general Direct w/ 4 or 5 completely new Switch 2 exclusives. Not ports or dual releases.
Edit: So I just checked Switch 2 inventory. Amazon is still invitation only, but Best Buy and Target have them in stock and online for shipping. So yes, I'm saying the demand isn't there. If we were all rating it 8, 9 or 10 I'm guessing it would be harder to find. But it's not bad.π
I played 3x this weekend solo only so I'm guessing I've already played the demo. π
Agree it looked horrible on Switch 2, reminded me of Skylanders Superchargers on the Wii. It didn't look all that great on PS5 either though. I mean sure it looked much better but it still didn't look good. Disney Speedstorm looks, and plays, way better. Too bad it's just a way to steal money from little kids now. The monetization of that game should be illegal. $50 & $60 racers!?!?π€¬
I may play Sonic Racing some day, it was fun, but not $70 fun. π€·ββοΈ
@progx We already bought the Switch edition day 1, we're big Kirby fans, and I don't have too much of a problem w/ them charging $20 for the upgraded dlc, but it is a port, the base game is an upgrade, we've already played it so we know it exists, and that was years ago, so they shouldn't still be selling a years old game for $60 plus making you pay an extra $20 for the dlc whether you want it or not. It's just too much money.
And if it isn't too much money then why was everyone complaining about $80 for Mario Kart World, and why have most gamers been complaining about new games costing $70 for the past 5 years? π€·ββοΈ
@Jireland92 Ah, OK fair enough. HQ in, the show out. I think I could live w/ that, though I do enjoy the show. HQ probably gets her own Lego game before Peacemaker anyway.π
@progx Sorry, I'm just not feeling good about the $80 for a port. Should be $70 for this "Complete Edition" and they can still charge $20 for the DLC. Sure,it means we'll have paid more than people who waited, but we got to play it years ago. Bad enough Switch 2 games are $80, years old Switch ports w/ some dlc shouldn't be. Should a new Kirby game in a few years be $90 or $100?π€
@The_Nintendo_Pedant "remember when Nintendo made new games for their new consoles?"
You mean on the GameCube with the likes of Pikmin and Luigis Mansion? Some of the people on here weren't even born back then so you can't expect them to remember that.π
So far our most played game on Switch 2 is XCX. Which we own on Wii U. And we skipped a lot of games on Switch b/c we already owned them, well their inferior versions, on Wii U. So I hear ha.
And while I'm here, $80 seems like way to much for a Kirby game. I'm OK w/ the $20 for the dlc, that's the going rate unfortunately, but everyone complained so much about $80 MKW and now we're just suddenly OK w/ it? That price looks ridiculous in the Target ad next to $40 GoW, $60 LSA and $70 MGS. π€ We bought the Switch version day 1 and we'll buy the dlc, when I get some eShop credit or it's on sale.π€·ββοΈ
We're currently dropping my kid off at college. We spent the entire someone watching them play XCX, well after we finished Clair Obscur, and they hit as far as finishing chapter 10 when we left, about 70 hours in.
So hopefully we get a proper Switch 2 updated version before they come home for Christmas to hopefully finish the last 3 chapters.
We already played the Wii U version, bought the collectors edition day 1, this is all about the new ending for us.
Oh they played the first 9 chapters on Switch before we got a Switch 2 ahead of chapter 10. Looks the same, but load times are much faster. We booted up the Wii U version. Looks mostly the same, but the font is so small. And the menus are a mess. Map always on the touchscreen Gamepad was great though.π
@Jireland92 Well adult stuff may be baked into Harleys DNA but that hasn't stopped Lego from putting her in 5 previous Lego games. And she has a couple of block sets as well. They wouldn't have to follow the show entirely, they could follow the movie too.π
@Slideaway1983 I think I did understand all of that and you do make some good points. The first part is a more cohesive experience and it does feel like it's own game. Until the end when it kind of feels like a prolouge. And part 2 is an open world collectathon that feels like like it just stops halfway thru the story, b/c it does. I preferred the 100 full blown JRPG half a story to the linear prologue but as you say personal taste.
There are pros and cons to buying it day 1, I was just giving the people unfamiliar with it something to think about. I mean I haven't even played either of them, what do I know.π

Still unsure about this one, my kids say the last game sucked, but I'll read the reviews. I mean we have a Switch 2 so I feel obligated to get at least 1 game for it for Christmas.
Nintendo thy name is greed.π€
Re: Nintendo Releasing Physical 'Talking Flower' From Mario Wonder Next Spring
@Dom_31 This not being interactive in 2026 is ridiculous. At least make it a big amiibo then that does something in the game. Or put a clock face in it's mouth. Nintendo has become the Jakks Pacific of video game companies this gen, even bringing back the cardboard. π
https://www.jakks.com/
@Chapapa "not interactive" I'm assuming is simply their way iof saying it doesn't work like every other plastic device that we purchase for our homes these days, no voice commands. I'm guessing it says phrases when we press the big button.Thats not "interactive" by today's standard.
@Ooyah just said Mute button which is a thought, but if it's not interactive and we want to mute it there's probably an off-on power button on the bottom, which would in effect mute it. In which case 3D print your own at home.π
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Been Updated To Version 2.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
I'd like it, but not paying that much so soon after buying the game. Who knows this could become a regular thing, complete game could be $200 soon.π©
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
@Max_the_German Yes it does look like it, but I haven't seen it confirmed yet. So I think it should, but we don't know.
I just checked to see how much it would cost to sign up for a month or a few and apparently there is only a 1 year $50 option. I'm not paying $50 to try out some VR games. They really need like $19.99 for 3 months of something like that to jet people try stuff out. $20/m would be $80/yr so most people would just pay the $50 but I'd pay $20 to try it out, we don't game online.

Re: Mario Tennis Fever Hits Switch 2 Next February
That Japanese announcer is definitely pre-ordering this, he was very excited.π
I could see me borrowing this from my library to play thru story mode, which probably only lasts 5 or 6 hours, that's enough tennis for me, my family is over it. Wonder dlc will be enough for family time.
Re: Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
Re: Monster Hunter Stories 3 Will Roar Onto Switch 2 In March 2026
Looks good. Not sure I'll play it ever but it does look good.π
Re: Round Up: Everything Announced For Super Mario's 40th Anniversary
Should have been it's own Direct. 20 minutes is long enough, and then we could have had the other 40 minute Direct a few weeks before or after. I mean look how thry glossed over MP4.
It was all at the beginning, would have been simple to break it up.
It was good though. Looking forward to the movie, maybe replaying the Galaxy games, and a new 2D Yoshi. Amiibo being 6 months later is typical Nintendo.π€
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
@ShieldHero "and a real physical, not a Game Key Card, at that"
How many Switch games do you know of on GKC? This isn't a Switch 2 game, they're Switch games.π€·ββοΈ
It's about what I was expecting so not surprised. Cheaper is always better but this was the Nintendo Paid Direct so that's what we got.
My only surprise is no physical Switch 2 version? I didn't get a Switch 2 to keep buying Switch games. Not buying a Switch box anymore.
Re: The Entire Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy Is Making Its Way To Switch 2
Big news. Even w/o dates just knowing the other 2 are coming is nice. And just knowing Squenix thinks Switch 2 can handle part 3 is great as I'm sure they'll be pushing PS5 into Pro territory with it.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 Bundle Confirmed For Switch, Launching October
@Olliemar28 Possibly just my limited reading comprehension but doesn't this subheader:
"And they're 'Enhanced for Switch 2'"
mean the opposite of this 2nd paragraph sentence:
"It doesn't appear that this release will be enhanced for Switch 2 in any way,"
I'm trying to keep up, I know you're busy busy, but it kinda matters as we have a Switch 2, and both games on Wii if I wanna pop them in the Ole Wii U which we still use. I'd pay for 4k HDR though. π
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake For Switch 2 Slips Into 2026, Game-Key Card Confirmed
Having watched my kids play both the PS4 and PS5 version I was impressed with how good this looked. I wasn't a fan, they took the first 6 hours of FF7 and added in 34 hours of filler, but the ending was good.
Re: Mario Galaxy amiibo Are On The Way, Plus Two New Kirby Ones With Swappable Bases
Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026
@Greatluigi I definitely thought it was Builders 3 but I forgot what the series was called, just knew they were up to 3. That considered it could have been Monsters or Jokers or whatever, so many DQ spinoff games.
I've only played 8 and 11, both great, so considering this. Also considering 1, 2 & 3 but I don't like 2D HD, much prefer this graphics style.
Edit: My mistake, I was thinking Heroes 3, not builders. Though now that I think about it I may have been confusing the 2 spinoff series, I thought World Tree Woe was Builders. So. Many. Games.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
Wow OK that is so funny that wax MP4 on the bike? I thought it was some weird spinoff game like Freedom Force only on bikes. Then at the end my brain read it as MP 2 for some reason so I thought it was a remaster.
Wow they're big holiday game and they just kind of dropped it in there. And the bike looked ridiculous. Wow. I need to watch that again later when it's stand alone on Switch. I knew an hour was too long.
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
@Max_the_German Can we use Labo VR? I have one sitting right here in front of me. If they are selling a new cardboard version but we can't use the old one that's messed up. Not that I'll be subscribing to NSO+EP anyway, not until it gets a better name.π
Re: Surprise! Donkey Kong Bananza Is Getting DLC, And It's Out Today
Oh well.
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 12th September 2025
@kmtrain83 Are you really that worried about games that have a few generations each becoming overdone? Phones come out each year so that makes sense.
I'd be OK if they did something new w/ Luigi or Pikmin, like I'm OK w/ DK Bananza instead of 3D Mario, but I'd like something big AAA, not just Drag X Drive.
That does remind me I still need to play Peach and Brothership. Maybe there aren't too many new Switch 2 games b/c they were making Switch games?
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Demo Races Onto Switch Next Week
@PJOReilly Why wouldn't it be, they're releasing weeks apart? Switch is 8yo hardware so I can't really blame them. It looking worse to me on PS5 than Disney Speedstorm was kind of surprising though. Which reminds me, I've been meaning to go download Speedstorm on Switch 2 to see how it cares to the PS5 version. Has to be better than Sonic but that's not a fair comparison w/ the Switch version.
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 12th September 2025
@AverageGamer Yeah I just wrote a long reply about Pikmin just above this, it probably is too soon to even announce that. I'm not counting a port, remaster or remake of TTYD as a new game though.
New Paper Mario games have released just about 1 every 5 years from 2000 Paper Mario to 2020 Origami King so this year would be right on schedule to announce a new game.π
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_Mario
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 12th September 2025
Edit: My mistake Pikmin 4, not 3.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Demo Races Onto Switch Next Week
I was looking forward to this but it looked really bad on Switch 2. But it didn't look all that great on PS5 either, so not expecting much in the Switch 2 version.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
I always want a new 3D Mario game but wasn't that DK Bananza? Didn't the same people make that? If it was a different team then by all means bring it on. Seems to soon for a new 2D Mario. Maybe they'll just cover Wonder in ice for $20.π€
Pikmin 5
Paper Mario
Luigis Mansion 4
Yoshi Crafty 2D
Galaxy 1 & 2 packaged as Galaxy Complete for $70 would be nice. I almost never double dip for for those 2 remastered in 4K w/ HDR I would. Will skip if just ports.
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Friday, 12th September 2025
Excited and hoping for the best.ππ€
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong's Upcoming Patch Will Nerf The Difficulty In Certain Areas
This is what happens when you rush a game out in only 7 years. Maybe next time thry should take 10 years so there are less things to fix. π
Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
It's the Switch Pro we waited 5 years for until it's fully next gen. Maybe when the new next gen next gen PokΓ©mon releases. Or at least gets announced.π€·ββοΈ
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Scores Free Single-Player Demo This Month
I played 3x this weekend solo only so I'm guessing I've already played the demo. π
Agree it looked horrible on Switch 2, reminded me of Skylanders Superchargers on the Wii. It didn't look all that great on PS5 either though. I mean sure it looked much better but it still didn't look good. Disney Speedstorm looks, and plays, way better. Too bad it's just a way to steal money from little kids now. The monetization of that game should be illegal. $50 & $60 racers!?!?π€¬
I may play Sonic Racing some day, it was fun, but not $70 fun. π€·ββοΈ
Re: Review: Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - Kirby's Best Shines Even Brighter
And if it isn't too much money then why was everyone complaining about $80 for Mario Kart World, and why have most gamers been complaining about new games costing $70 for the past 5 years? π€·ββοΈ
Re: LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Swoops Onto Switch 2 Next Year
@Jireland92 Ah, OK fair enough. HQ in, the show out. I think I could live w/ that, though I do enjoy the show. HQ probably gets her own Lego game before Peacemaker anyway.π
Re: Review: Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - Kirby's Best Shines Even Brighter
Re: Review: Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - Kirby's Best Shines Even Brighter

Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct Is Reportedly Coming Ahead Of Mario's 40th Anniversary
I predicting we have a Christmas in December. About the same odds as a Direct in September.π
Re: Nintendo Identifies Xenoblade Chronicles X Voice Sync Bug On Switch 2
Re: Review: Herdling (Switch) - A Serene, Soothing Animal Trek With Some Rough Edges
@elpardo1984 Waiting on a Switch 2 port, and a heavily discounted sale of 50% or more. 3-5 hour games are the reason Apple Arcade exists.
@Simu001 3-5 hours is close enough thanks. I think I separate games by 5 or 10 our blocks anyway.
@Indielink Yeah dev kits would certainly help making Switch 2 versions of games. Thanks.π
Re: Review: Herdling (Switch) - A Serene, Soothing Animal Trek With Some Rough Edges
So how short is short? It's $24.99US but on sale for $19.99 until next Thursday 8/28.
Any word on a proper Switch 2 upgrade?
Thanks.
Re: Mario Kart World Wins "Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game" Of Gamescom 2025
Good to know "best gameplay" doesn't get you "best game" on a console, so we can all just point and mock laughingly ha ha. π
Re: LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Swoops Onto Switch 2 Next Year
@Jireland92 Well adult stuff may be baked into Harleys DNA but that hasn't stopped Lego from putting her in 5 previous Lego games. And she has a couple of block sets as well. They wouldn't have to follow the show entirely, they could follow the movie too.π

Re: Video: We've Played Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade On Switch 2
@Slideaway1983 I think I did understand all of that and you do make some good points. The first part is a more cohesive experience and it does feel like it's own game. Until the end when it kind of feels like a prolouge. And part 2 is an open world collectathon that feels like like it just stops halfway thru the story, b/c it does. I preferred the 100 full blown JRPG half a story to the linear prologue but as you say personal taste.
There are pros and cons to buying it day 1, I was just giving the people unfamiliar with it something to think about. I mean I haven't even played either of them, what do I know.π
