I'm siding with the - that is a lot of things for Nintendo to update day 1 - crowd. Seems like it's basically all multiunit multiplyer. So that $80 game cart is offline only until you update?
Hopefully it will be integrated for the million people who will be getting the bundle tomorrow. Can you imagine you spend $500, have to wait while you probably wirelessly download 19GB to play your included game, then you press play and it says, please download the update. 😝
Sounds good. Right now however I'm sitting here on my couch looking at my Farmagia box so that's first. I know they aren't the same but close enough for me probably. I'm not a big farming Sim guy, just like slow stuff occasionally to calm myself and relax.
Someone should have asked the question: w/ Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundled orders being so robust, and Nintendo opting to include only a code in a $500 game bundle, what has Nintendo done to insure people will be able to quickly download their game and start playing? Have they purchased faster servers, upgraded their internet connection speeds and bandwidth, added more server rooms in more locations around the globe?
I'd like to be pleasantly surprised and have a great launch day for Nintendo Switch 2 and MKW but I worry Nintendo isn't ready for this much online this fast. 🤞

If it mentions the camera then yeah pack it in with the camera. For $50 the camera should already come with 6 months of NO. I read Gamechat was free until March 2026 but I'm not sure if that's all online gaming. If it is Nintendo should talk about it more. Nice bonus for the early adopters. Not so nice if you get a Switch 2 after next March.

@SearchingS Thought that might be it. I don't like 1st person but I played Cyberpunk anyway. Really wish it was 3rd, hard for me to drive, shoot, walk, do just about anything. TW3 was good though. Maybe some day all big AAA games will give us that option. I know I've skipped a bunch of 1st person games b/c of it.

Just checked my phone in case, or b/c, I'm losing my mind. Found Nintendo Switch and Switch Parental apps. That Parental app being under Switch rather than Nintendo, my Samsung phone sorts my way too many apps alphabetically, was annoying enough as it is.😝 Also Mario Run,Pokémon Go and Pikmin Bloom, which should all be separate b/c games.

Except a lot of people will be buying the MKW bundle at launch, and most of those will be digital copies, so shrinking MKW, as this article is about, does help a lot of people.

@anubisvel The apps for my local grocery stores let me look at flyers, select digital coupons, exchange my points for store credit, make a list for shopping in store, order items to be delivered to my house, all in just 1 app.
So yes I think it's very possible for Nintendo to put it's limited online functionality and daily news update into 1 app.
The music app is different, it's a music app. And Alarmo is it's own device. But with how little the today and online apps actually do they should just be one app.

People on the internet being wrong and calling 1440 2k aside, the Series S does have games at 1440, and upscale a couple of games even to 4k, which does put it around the same place as Switch 2, making Switch 2 equivalent to a home console in my head. Even if it's a 4 year old weak home console, but it's still thus gen for a couple of more years at least.
Target had my preorder until they cancelled it. Their loss. My wife's company is giving her 1 for 10 years of service. May be awhile, but no rush. Free is free.
The comparison Pic zoomed in on the axe guy makes it look like the difference between a handheld and home console. Which is good.
The $300 Switch was a great little portable console w/ TV out but the $450 Switch 2 does seem more like the idea of a home console you can play on the go. Which does explain the higher price. I think even Series S is about $400 now after the latest round of MS price hikes, and I think that has a max resolution of 1080p. So Switch 2 has that beat.
Which gets to why I think at $450 Nintendo could make a cheaper home console version w/o a battery, screen or Mouse Con and compete at the low end. For those of us like myself who never undock their consoles. They already have a cheaper region locked Switch 2 in Japan so it shows they're willing to sell for less. They'll give us a cheaper Switch 2 Lite for people who don't own a TV, seems only fair people who don't leave their TV get to save some money as well.
Switch 2 may still be a tablet, but it's a tablet powered for home gaming. (Based on resolution output for all the gamers who own 4k tvs.)

I'm pretty sure Target is a charge when shipped business but I've never pre-ordered from them before. I got my preorder in with Target right after midnight, which was great. Then the cancelation email right after, which sucked. Then another email 20 minutes later telling me my order had gone through, which was great. Until I realized they meant my original cancelled order, which sucked. But then my wife's company told her they'd buy her one for her 10 year employment anniversary, which was great. Then they told her today she might not get it until next year when they got around to buying one, which sucked.

So many game key carts has me legit wondering if Nintendo would make an all digital Switch 2 Lite, similar to the PSP Go? That cart slot is really small so there really is no legit reason for them to take it out, no matter how small the system is, so they shouldn't, but they might anyway just to test the waters for Switch 3.
I don't think they will, but it's enough that I'm thinking about it. Personally I wouldn't buy an all digital Switch 2 Home console, all of my games are at home, but for a much smaller Switch 2 Lite maybe people want it all digital for convenience?
Come to think of it maybe that's a reason they made "virtual game card"? Have a big main console at home, digital for on the go. Hmmm, the plot thickens.

Sounds like Nintendo is doing the right thing. I'm all for being able to sell anything you own at any price, but you should have to own it before you can sell it. So not letting anyone sell something they don't yet have in hand, even if they already paid for it, makes sense. Let the scalpers sweat it out, not knowing what they'll get after making their not insignificant investment. Sounds like scalpers in the EU won't be making much, may not even be worth the effort.
The more we know how hard a Switch 2 is to come by in the US the worse the scalping will be. Wii was bad for a couple of years, PS5 for a year. Not actually sure about Switch, I was always waiting for the Mario bundle which was announced near launch.

The 48 course pack might be worth $25 to me, and if Nintendo would make it work w/ my Wii U version I might even buy it. But I'm not buying the same game again for $60 to then pay another $25.🤑
The last update should be either a $30 Player's Choice version of this decade old game or a Complete version for $60 on the cart. Oh sure, every Switch owner owns a copy now, but when parents can't afford a Switch 2 this holiday they could buy their young kid a Switch Lite and MK8DC for the holidays.
Smart move. But I also think they left some money on the table not holding off on MKW for a bit, maybe a year or so, launching w/ DKB, and bundling w/ MK8 Deluxe Complete. Sure it might have felt a bit insulting, but for even $70 w/ the full booster pass on cart, add in HDR, I think it would have sold. Not too mention a $10 upgrade patch just for HDR and a higher resolution for the 30 million people who own MK8. 30 million copies X $10 would cover the costs of adding HDR.
I still don't own MK8D b/c I own MK8 and my Wii U is still functional and hooked up to the TV, but I would have purchased MK8DC for $70, or$50 as a pack in, to own it all on cart.

I was a victim of Target's incompetence. They guy in chat did give me a $20 credit for my trouble but no secondary help securing a Switch 2. I registered with Nintendo and got the email a couple of days ago telling me they haven't forgotten about me but no chance to preorder.
I expect these problems with any console launch but I think Nintendo's pollyanaish "We have ways of having a smooth launch." should be side by side with Sony's "We know generations." nonsense.
One way to make the launch better, and maybe this is why it's worse in the US, make it illegal for the second hand market to sell things they don't own. I'm not talking about banning scalping, it's just capitalism, but you can't list something you don't own, and right now nobody owns a Switch 2, so there shouldn't be any listed. Even if you've already paid for your preorder you still don't have it in your possession, so how can you possibly sell it?
It wouldn't cut back on all of it, people would still buy it hoping to sell it, but maybe less of them?
These guys are still on strike? I'm pro union but this one seems done, I'm sorry to say. I think a lot of people noticed the year without new TV shows or movies from the writers and actors strikes but has anyone either in real life or the media noticed a drastic decline in any output of any media caused by this strike? Game key card should be written across the entire top of the box, and the box should be half sized like 3DS, but I'm not opposed to the idea. Hoping my library carries them. It doesn't carry codes.

I'm surprised to read some of these updates as I was playing the game on Apple Arcade and already had them. How did they release a game on Switch that already had the companion phone and furniture stacking in it already? We're they like, hey this game works too well, let's take some stuff out and make it less fun to play. 😝

@Lone_Beagle Don't have a Steam account. Crazy I know. I had one for about a decade but my kid kept playing on the account more and more and I kept playing on it less and less so eventually they just took it over b/c it was too late for them to start their own.🤷♂️

TW3 is a 3rd person view game. There's a mode for 1st person on PC but that's the only place I know about that isn't 3rd person. So maybe you typed that wrong or you're thinking of Cyberpunk, which is 1st person?

@anubisvel The apps for my local grocery stores let me look at flyers, select digital coupons, exchange my points for store credit, make a list for shopping in store, order items to be delivered to my house, all in just 1 app.
So yes I think it's very possible for Nintendo to put it's limited online functionality and daily news update into 1 app.
The music app is different, it's a music app. And Alarmo is it's own device. But with how little the today and online apps actually do they should just be one app.

The Series S does have games that run at 1440, which some people call 2K, but it's not, b/c 1080p is 2k.

People on the internet being wrong and calling 1440 2k aside, the Series S does have games at 1440, and upscale a couple of games even to 4k, which does put it around the same place as Switch 2, making Switch 2 equivalent to a home console in my head. Even if it's a 4 year old weak home console, but it's still thus gen for a couple of more years at least.

The comparison Pic zoomed in on the axe guy makes it look like the difference between a handheld and home console. Which is good.
The $300 Switch was a great little portable console w/ TV out but the $450 Switch 2 does seem more like the idea of a home console you can play on the go. Which does explain the higher price. I think even Series S is about $400 now after the latest round of MS price hikes, and I think that has a max resolution of 1080p. So Switch 2 has that beat.
Which gets to why I think at $450 Nintendo could make a cheaper home console version w/o a battery, screen or Mouse Con and compete at the low end. For those of us like myself who never undock their consoles. They already have a cheaper region locked Switch 2 in Japan so it shows they're willing to sell for less. They'll give us a cheaper Switch 2 Lite for people who don't own a TV, seems only fair people who don't leave their TV get to save some money as well.
Switch 2 may still be a tablet, but it's a tablet powered for home gaming. (Based on resolution output for all the gamers who own 4k tvs.)

Interesting. I haven't seen Euphoria but I have watched all of The Hunger Games movies (well at least I think I have, hard to keep up) and I didn't recognize the picture. Looks the part though.
That's not the interesting part, that's boring. What I found interesting is I've already spent part of the day discussing over on @Pushsquare if they'd write Lev out of season 3 of TLOU, or at least change the relevant back story, b/c reasons. So if Hunter has a shot so does Lev I guess. I do think Ian Alexander is too old though, they'll probably want someone much younger than Dever.

I'm pretty sure Target is a charge when shipped business but I've never pre-ordered from them before. I got my preorder in with Target right after midnight, which was great. Then the cancelation email right after, which sucked. Then another email 20 minutes later telling me my order had gone through, which was great. Until I realized they meant my original cancelled order, which sucked. But then my wife's company told her they'd buy her one for her 10 year employment anniversary, which was great. Then they told her today she might not get it until next year when they got around to buying one, which sucked.
It's been a bit of a roller coaster over here.😂

So many game key carts has me legit wondering if Nintendo would make an all digital Switch 2 Lite, similar to the PSP Go? That cart slot is really small so there really is no legit reason for them to take it out, no matter how small the system is, so they shouldn't, but they might anyway just to test the waters for Switch 3.
I don't think they will, but it's enough that I'm thinking about it. Personally I wouldn't buy an all digital Switch 2 Home console, all of my games are at home, but for a much smaller Switch 2 Lite maybe people want it all digital for convenience?
Come to think of it maybe that's a reason they made "virtual game card"? Have a big main console at home, digital for on the go. Hmmm, the plot thickens.
Full disclosure I'm not that well versed in VGC yet, not even sure that's what it's called, but it seems relevant.
Edit: I meant virtual game card, not game share which is more multi-player. Doesn't look like it currently supports physical carts but since physical carts are just keys for digital games anyway I suppose it could be possible on a future Switch 2 Go if Nintendo decided to go that route.

Sounds like Nintendo is doing the right thing. I'm all for being able to sell anything you own at any price, but you should have to own it before you can sell it. So not letting anyone sell something they don't yet have in hand, even if they already paid for it, makes sense. Let the scalpers sweat it out, not knowing what they'll get after making their not insignificant investment. Sounds like scalpers in the EU won't be making much, may not even be worth the effort.
The more we know how hard a Switch 2 is to come by in the US the worse the scalping will be. Wii was bad for a couple of years, PS5 for a year. Not actually sure about Switch, I was always waiting for the Mario bundle which was announced near launch.
I'm still torn on Switch 2. Or maybe I'm just lazy, depressed, poor and torn on getting out of bed in the morning. So much effort when it's 50' and raining every day..😩

@cvrator Having played Elden Ring on PS5 for like 150 hours I'm not sure GRR Martin's writing would really have anything to do with a Del Toro movie other than a few tidbits here and there. There's only so much you can do in a 3 hour movie. It would be creepy as all get out and would cause a lot of people to lose a lot of sleep.
I think it has a lot of potential, but I'm a sword & sandals guy who likes cheesy 80s movies so I'm not really a good judge of quality.😂

@cvrator OK yeah Pan's Labyrinth was dark and scary but I don't recall a lot of blood splatter, severed limbs and the like. So maybe adult wasn't the correct word but it seemed sufficient. If I said it would be a bloody Pan's Labyrinth people might have just thought I was a British bloke.😂

@roboshort I had to look up that director. Have never watched any of their stuff but those 5 Ruroni Kenshin movies have been in my wishlists for awhile. I always thought they were 2 sets of distinct movies that tell the same tale, like Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood, but if it's 5 parts of 1 story, well then I may never watch them.😂
Elden Ring did have a bit of a Japanese anime vibe even without being Japanese or anime so I think that director could pull it off. But I guess we'll never know.
I still think this could be a fun, turn off your brain, freaky looking action flick, if only truly enjoyed by the midnight show stones. They need something to watch besides Akira. 😎

Or, for the sake of the movie, man survives tutorial, takes the magic sword, and kills everything along the way to the Erdtree, burns it to the ground, make up random story lore involving hands and maidens along the way.
I think Guielrmo Del Toro could do it justice, like an adult "Pan's Labrynth", with an emphasis on the weird creatures, less on the story.
Though not even he can save that flying whale creature final boss. That will 100% not be in the movie.😂

@AxleMagnum Looked up MSE and couldn't find it but I suppose it doesn't matter b/c I'm not paying $85 for a 10 year old game I already own anyway. The 48 course pack might be worth $25 to me, and if Nintendo would make it work w/ my Wii U version I might even buy it. But I'm not buying the same game again for $60 to then pay another $25.🤑

The last update should be either a $30 Player's Choice version of this decade old game or a Complete version for $60 on the cart. Oh sure, every Switch owner owns a copy now, but when parents can't afford a Switch 2 this holiday they could buy their young kid a Switch Lite and MK8DC for the holidays.

Smart move. But I also think they left some money on the table not holding off on MKW for a bit, maybe a year or so, launching w/ DKB, and bundling w/ MK8 Deluxe Complete. Sure it might have felt a bit insulting, but for even $70 w/ the full booster pass on cart, add in HDR, I think it would have sold. Not too mention a $10 upgrade patch just for HDR and a higher resolution for the 30 million people who own MK8. 30 million copies X $10 would cover the costs of adding HDR.
I still don't own MK8D b/c I own MK8 and my Wii U is still functional and hooked up to the TV, but I would have purchased MK8DC for $70, or$50 as a pack in, to own it all on cart.

I was a victim of Target's incompetence. They guy in chat did give me a $20 credit for my trouble but no secondary help securing a Switch 2. I registered with Nintendo and got the email a couple of days ago telling me they haven't forgotten about me but no chance to preorder.
I expect these problems with any console launch but I think Nintendo's pollyanaish "We have ways of having a smooth launch." should be side by side with Sony's "We know generations." nonsense.
One way to make the launch better, and maybe this is why it's worse in the US, make it illegal for the second hand market to sell things they don't own. I'm not talking about banning scalping, it's just capitalism, but you can't list something you don't own, and right now nobody owns a Switch 2, so there shouldn't be any listed. Even if you've already paid for your preorder you still don't have it in your possession, so how can you possibly sell it?
It wouldn't cut back on all of it, people would still buy it hoping to sell it, but maybe less of them?

These guys are still on strike? I'm pro union but this one seems done, I'm sorry to say. I think a lot of people noticed the year without new TV shows or movies from the writers and actors strikes but has anyone either in real life or the media noticed a drastic decline in any output of any media caused by this strike? I haven't. This is like the 3rd story I've seen on either here on PS, which I don't go on on Mondays b/c spoilers, and every time I forget they are still on strike. Good luck to them. I mean having a voice modulation simulator or whatever reading scripted lines of dialog in his Darth Vader helmet voice is 1 thing, but just letting some computer program run off at the mouth saying anything it wants to seems a bit bizarre. How did they release a game on Switch that already had the companion phone and furniture stacking in it already?
