Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Christmas 2023 Edition)

jolteon23

I settled on Persona 5 Royal becoming my Christmas game this winter break. Kamoshida deserves what's coming for him.

I'm also debating whether or not I'm going to invest my time into acquiring enough BP in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC in order to catch all starters. The massive amount of BP required, the ridiculously simple (and extremely repetitive) quests and the insulting low turnout has managed to completely demotivate me. Normally I'm a sucker for completing the 'Dex, but this time might be different. This has left me more bummed than the overall poor performance. Maybe I'm missing a quicker way to acquire BP, but if not, the devs have managed to make this DLC feel like a chore.

I am so happy with the NL community. Over at Push Square some people can no longer enjoy Atlus and the masterpiece that is P5, all over one PS4 to PS5 upgrade decision. But the positivity and honest celebratory comments make me glad to be part of this community.

I can't believe free upgrades have become expected. These cost time, money and great effort. Sony Interactive Studios might be able to afford this, Atlus and Sega need to be more conscious of expenditures.

This weekend I'll be diving into the second DLC of Pokemon S/V. Hopefully collecting the 'mon is fun enough to warrant the purchase.

I have also started a new playthrough of Persona 5 Royal. 2 years ago I tried to get into this game, but after 10 hours I found myself distracted by a freshly released game. So, hopefully this time around it will completely draw me in.

@Geit_de I've been having a lot of fun with this game with my pals, but I do agree with the presence of bugs and the lack of resources in some caves you mentioned. However resource-wise, I think this game is clearly designed to play with multiple people, since emptying a cave with 3 or 4 people often gave us all the resources we needed for the next steps of upgrades.

Am I right to understand you have upgraded one village to level 10? We have started two more villages in the other biomes than grassland and leveling those up resulted in many more unlockable buildings, items, furniture, etc. It provided the game with many more hours to enjoy, until the inevitable update expands it even further.

I can't say I'm surprised after all that happened in recent years, but I am gutted. The anticipation, the hype, the surprises, it all led to some of my most cherished moments in gaming. Thank you E3, I will miss you.

Booting up the Star Ocean remake last weekend has inspired me to (finally) finish Xenoblade Chronicles 3. During the week I have completed all possible sidequests, ascended all heroes, upgraded all base weapons and am currently at Z's doorstep in the game's final region. So I'm looking forward to finishing that this weekend and hopefully have some time left to get back to Star Ocean Second Story R. It deserves my undivided attention. Have a great weekend everyone!

I have picked up where I left off in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 again after almost a year of not touching it. I have just started chapter 6 and am curious where the story will take me. This means I also have all the DLC to play through. And yes, I will also play a level or 5 in a certain plumber game. Have a great weekend everyone!

Most of the weekend will be taken up by a different geeky activity: Together with a buddy I'm going to paint the new Star Wars Shatterpoint miniatures and hopefully play the game as well.
On the gaming front I'll be continuing my playthrough of Assassin's Creed Mirage on the Series X and Eastward on the Switch for when my partner requires the tv. Looking forward to it all. Have a great weekend everyone!

Yesterday I've picked up the physical version of Pikmin 1+2 and the new Avatar Last Airbender game for Switch. So, my weekend will undoubtedly be filled with some time on both, but I will also be continuing me playthrough of The Teal Mask. Earlier this week I managed to finish Jedi Survivor and I've decided to completely drop Starfield, it just didn't click with me, so I finally have full focus for my lovely old Switch again.

Happy gaming everyone!

This weekend I'll be continuing my playthrough of Raincode: Master Detective on Switch and Jedi: Survivor on the Series X while I'm waiting for the official release of Starfield in the coming week.

So far, Raincode has not grabbed my attention as much as I hoped it would. Any tips on when it gets good?

Anyway, happy gaming everyone!

After two weeks of vacation in France I have now returned home, which means, time to play games again! I was incredibly close to finishing Pikmin 4, so that's exactly what I'll be spending my time on this weekend. If I manage to finish it I'll probably play some Planet Coaster on PS5.

Happy gaming everyone!

I will only have time to play a very specific, but very tiny game this weekend. Maybe you've heard of it or seen them in your garden? It's called Pikmin 4. All jokes aside, I am incredibly excited to boot it up, especially after the great reviews. Beyond stoked. Happy (tiny) gaming everyone!

This weekend I will once again dive further into Final Fantasy XVI on PS5 if I have the time. I'll be at Dokomi in Germany so probably won't have much time to turn on my PS5 at home in the Netherlands at all. Instead it's more likely I'll turn on my Switch and start Master Detective: Rain Code instead. Either way it will be a great weekend. Happy gaming!

This weekend, besides working on my deadlines, I'll spend some time in the lovely new Final Fantasy XVI on PS5. I'm 4 hours in and I love it so much already! It's a gorgeous game with a gripping story.
I will probably have a little break with Zelda for the coming weeks. I'm at the final mission, I believe, but I just can't put myself to confront Ganondorf.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Beyond Good And Evil

I'm going for the North American one this time. I own the European one but I actually think I prefer the NA version. I love how it shows more of the world in the backdrop and the dystopian 'support your government' poster is bringing in that nice one person against the system theme. It does a much better job of portraying Jade as a stealthy, but powerful rebel.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 15th)

jolteon23

Currently not playing anything on Switch except for my daily dose of Pokemon Unite. I guess I'm just waiting till Advance Wars releases next week.

Elsewhere I'm at chapter 17 of Final Fantasy VII Remake, so very close to the end. And I might purchase the Pixel Remaster, since FF7 got me in a real FF tizzy ngl

Re: Best Nintendo Switch DLC

Personally, I really think the DLC for FE Three Houses belongs on this list. It added a fourth House to the game, new characters and fleshed out story. Made for even better replay value to an already very replayable game
