Normally I wait for a review from you guys before I purchase eShop only titles. But this one I bought upon release and I'm so happy I did. It's an absolute gem and a joy to play. I'd recommend this to everyone.
@MontyCircus I bought it (haven't played it yet), but I can't wait because of the positive reviews. I hope Nintendolife is going to come with their own review.
@Thenewguy I have the exact same thing, while I enjoyed my playthrough of Engage, I enjoyed FE Three Houses much, much more. I can't really put my finger on what it is that is so different about Engage, but it might have to do with the characters not really feeling alive within the world/story to me. In Three Houses all the characters really came from parts of their territories and had extensive background info and connections to other characters through them. That might just be it actually.
The 3DS was also a beacon of light for me in a time where I had no succes in my dance career. Reading this made me well up a little and remind me of the joy it brought me back then. Thank you
I think they're very similar in portraying Samus' coolness, but I went for the Japanese one this time because of the location that is much better featured in the artwork. I love the look of this dark and mysterious corridor filled with enemies stretching out behind Samus.
Since I'm holding off buying Metroid Prime Remastered until the physical release, I will mostly be playing Hogwarts Legacy on PS5, but because me and my partner like to do a playthrough on seperate accounts (he really wanted to play as a Slytherin, typical), it gives me the perfect opportunity to play the Divine Paralogues of Hector, Soren and Camilla on Fire Emblem Engage. And since Soren is one of my favorite characters to come out of the series, I'm also kind of glad I will be pulled away from Hogwarts Legacy.
I will be spending the weekend getting into the latter half of Fire Emblem Engage. I'm absolutely loving the game, although I think I'd prefer Three Houses' more traditional medieval style story over this one.
Elsewhere I've gotten back into Elden Ring after finally defeat Morgott last night. Eager to jump into this game some more before Hogwart's Legacy releases next week. Happy gaming everyone!
I will not watch the opening until I boot up the game on my switch. I've also not watched that 9 minute in an effort to not spoil too much of the game, since I already know I'll be buying it.
I have been a huge Fire Emblem fan from the (western) start. And I am very excited for this new entry. I just do not understand all the comments of people being afraid it's going to be too waifu or anime-y or how this game and TH isn't for them. Of course to eaxlch their own. But anime and waifu type elements have always been a part of this series. There were literal anime and furry type people in both Path of Radiance and Radiance dawn and some had very obcvious gendered or love interested choices built into them. If that's not for you, just say that. But don't pretend it's something from the last two games. By the way, most of this is very easily skippable, like the tea time in TH, and doesn't have to impact your experience with the tactical side of it at all.
I am extremely hyped for Fire Emblem and will also be picking up Persona 4 Golden when it comes out. But that one will go straight to my ever growing backlog I'm afraid, since I will be playing Fire Emblem first.
Hear my pitch: Animal Crossing meets Shutter Island. You think you're on a good island having fun, but slowly you find out you're trapped and all your cute neighbors are in on it too.
Thanks for the great article! I'm not sure when I'll have the time, after being convinced to play more Final Fantasy games by all your anniversary articles, but this has piqued my interest. I'll keep an eye out to see if I can snatch up a copy somewhere for my Gamecube. I've been itching to boot it up again anyway.
@tenthAvatar I wholeheartedly disagree. I feel like Fire Emblem is so well received because it's bursting with personality. Other SRPGs that try a similar formula, sometimes fail because they lack heart. Especially since they've implemented voice acting it no longer feels low budget at all. (sidenote: I am a big FE fan since localization, so not objective at all )
Also, if Nintendo wanted to they could work on their more dormant franchises. But sales numbers just aren't motivating enough. Demand for games like F-Zero seems high on websites like these, but it's not likely a new iteration or remake would outperform previous installments.
I'm a big Fire Emblem fan (so, I'm not entirely objective) and this second story trailer looks amazing. I thought the reveal trailer was a bit underwhelming for what it tried to do, but this one is much stronger. I love the new countries that were introduced (I mean, c'mon realistic diversity) and I've spotted some interesting characters. Can't wait!
I wish I could read through the whole list without spoiling myself. I own all Ace Attorney games, but have only played the original trilogy and the Professor Layton spin-off. So I only read those parts. Thanks for the reminder to make work of the other games on DS, 3DS and Switch!
@Eagly I really don't think she made it "porn", in fact I think it's quite modest. She just found ways to have fun with the concept and make it sexy, nothing wrong with that imo. Saying you're not prude and then bashing women for revealing too much is not the way to go, Eagly. Same for Doja Cat, she's clearly having fun with it while also trying to stay close to the material. It was a joy to look at those photos.
I am definitely playing this game, but since I haven't touched my copy of Triangle Strategy due to a lack of time, I will probably pick this up at a later time during a discount.
I'll be continuing my playthrough of XC3, 90 hours in and I'm almost at the end of chapter 5 (it feels like that at least). I'll also be playing a little bit of Pokemon Unite for the Halloween and the Aeos Coin Weekend event. Gotta snag up them coins!!
I bought VLR and ZTD on 3DS years ago but never got around to playing them, because I found out they were sequels to 999. So, I finally played through 999 via GamePass this Summer and it completely blew my mind. I played through all the paths in 2 nights, I was sad to finish it. I should really boot up my 3DS again and start playing the sequels after reading this entertaining take on VLR
This weekend will be the start of a well deserved week off from work. Over this weekend I'll be playing Dreamlight Valley and become best pals with Scar, my favorite misunderstood villain. It's difficult to live in your brother's shadow, you know.
I'll also be diving into Paper Mario Origami King for the first time in an attempt to work on my backlog.
On Switch I'll finally be playing the Torna DLC to prepare for XBC3 later this month. I'll also be continueing my first run of Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes.
Elsewhere, on XBox GamePass, I'll be finishing the true ending branch of 9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors and after that I'll be moving on to Virtue's Last Reward. I'm already having such a blast with these Zero Escape games.
I have played and enjoyed the game for a while. It became stale eventuallly. Me and my friends have always been dissapointed that there were no new magics introduced, ever. I think BR games need to freshen up every season, like Fortnite does every time. Either with new gameplay mechanics, a new map or new items. Spellbreak did almost none of those.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (North America)
PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo (what is this title?) for me. So far very intrigued by the look and premise of it.

Re: Countdown: 3DS eShop Spotlight - Fire Emblem Fates
Happy to hear I possibly own a €400 cartridge. Not that I will ever sell it, but nice to know my game collecting hobby is at least worth something.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 18th)
I will be diving into the last 5 chapters of Fire Emblem Engage and spend some time on the update of Dreamlight Valley that just released.
Elsewhere I have finished Hogwarts Legacy, so the Switch can once again enjoy my undivided attention.
Re: Gallery: The Stunning Sights Of Super Nintendo World In Hollywood
I am devestated by the lack of a Universal Studios in Europe. Hopefully they will build one here at some point.

Re: Poll: Fire Emblem Engage Is Out On Switch This Week, Are You Getting It?
@daveMcFlave You're comment made me laugh out loud. The same happened to me when the DLC was announced. I feel ashamed and yet so liberated.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem Engage - Relationships Get Sidelined By A Thrilling Combat-First Focus
@jrt87 Fire Emblem Three Houses was released in June 2019? That's close to four years ago. I do get the Pokemon comment , just not FE.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 14th)
I will be playing a few matches of Pokemon Unite and will be diving into One Piece Odyssey elsewhere.
Re: Abandon Your Inner Landlubber And Set Sail With 'Sailing Era', Launching Summer
It look very interesting. I wonder if the gameplay loop is going to be addictive enough. I'll keep this on my radar.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Fire Emblem Engage
I just can't wait. "Possibly the best FE entry." Please, stop. Two weeks before it launches is already becoming an unbearable wait.

Re: Feature: The Best Pokémon Glow Ups In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet
I absolutely love how scyther walks and then flies and hunts you when he sees you. They are a lot more menacing now as predaceous insects.
Re: Feature: The Best Pokédex Pictures In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
@Kirbyo I was gonna say the same thing! Definitely a reference to the anime I think
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 26th)
I'll be playing Pokemon Scarlet all weekend. Hoping to make great progress towards beating all the gyms. Happy gaming everyone!

Re: Random: Megan Fox Cosplayed As Princess Zelda For Halloween This Year
@Yosher hahaha yeah certain areas can be wild. I always try to steer clear of those. Too crowded there anyway.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Punch-Out!!
For some reason, seeing real live people on the cover of a game doesn't do it for me. It's the Japanese Gold Edition this time.
Re: Random: Megan Fox Cosplayed As Princess Zelda For Halloween This Year
@Yosher What has my hometown ever done to you? ;(
Re: Random: Megan Fox Cosplayed As Princess Zelda For Halloween This Year
@Eagly Ah, sounds awful! Always hate it when you get sick during a break. Take it easy and get well soon!
Re: Random: Megan Fox Cosplayed As Princess Zelda For Halloween This Year
@Eagly thanks, sounds pretty sus to me. Sad, I do enjoy some of the stuff she puts out.
Hope you feel better soon (and find a way off that train).
Re: Random: Megan Fox Cosplayed As Princess Zelda For Halloween This Year
@Eagly Haha great move, appreciated!
Really, she did that? What happened?
