@-wc- agreed at the very least Epic owes us an official statement of explanation as to what happened and the reason for pulling Chase 1 down because like most others I don’t get it. If the game was trash we wouldn’t care lol. Atari should’ve bought that team instead of Epic lol

@LinktotheFuture not sure if switch 2 offers any improvements over switch 1 games played on SW2 unless they get an official switch 2 upgrade otherwise I think performance wise switch 1 games perform the same when being played on a SW2. You’re still going to enjoy the heck out of it like I said. Just as good as HC1 in my opinion. I checked it before and I don’t see any DLC available for 2 so I guess they never got that far what with Epic buying them I assume. Again, Such a shame!

@LinktotheFuture oh jeez it’s been a minute since I played HC2. I can tell you that I don’t recall experiencing a drop in smoothness compared to HC1. Not anything noticeable anyway. Keep in mind I was playing 2 on my PS5 so idk if that matters much. Also don’t recall HC2 having any DLC. EITHER WAY the game is still excellent and well worth a purchase especially if you enjoyed the first game. Like HC1 it’s a gorgeous excellent racing game! 😊

@HalBailman good point- it could be that simple yep. Are you kidding?? Top Gear collection was downloaded day 1 on all 3 consoles!! I’m a sucker for any retro or arcade classics on modern consoles! lol 😝

Such a shame and for any gamers that enjoy a good solid arcadey Outrun style racer this is an absolute must and despite not being on sale it’s totally worth the $20 as well! Just a beautiful game! So glad I have physical copies for Switch and PS4 still factory sealed! What baffles me is how Horizon Chase 2 is still being kept available for now. Also awesome & totally worth the purchase gamers!

On another note unless Hamster strikes a deal with Warner Bros we will NEVER see that buried treasure of classic Midway/Atari Games on modern consoles and it’s a shame because some of them are the best arcade games ever made:

LOVE what Hamster has been doing since the beginning! Console Archives brings an astounding amount of possibilities!! My only problem with this lineup is skipping over PS4, Switch 1 and Xbox Why?? Just PS4 and Switch alone is a tremendous audience lost here! I don’t get the logic honestly! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

All I can say is I refuse to buy any retail switch 2 games with that key card crap because as I understand it, one day when the servers are shut down the boxed game will be useless to us except maybe for display purposes. Unless I missed something on how the longevity aspect will work in the future. I mean I can still plug and play my Atari cartridge games 50 years later.

As long as that amazing SEGA CD soundtrack is included I’m in 👍 that soundtrack is so good I remember transferring the tracks to my iTunes library right from the game CD.

@topsekret thanks for the clarity - I have yet to buy a keycard game and now that I understand this even more, don’t ever plan to do so! Leave it to Nintendo to do the strange and obscure Vs Sony and Xbox. What’s the point on spending $60-80 on a keycard game when all you really get to keep forever is the box. Pretty dumb. They already have a 1TB card for SW2 so I don’t understand why they took this road or what the advantage is to their customers! 🤷‍♂️thx again!

A day 1 for me just to get X-men Arcade back to a current gen console. But HOW in the world did they overlook Sega CD Spider-Man??? 🤷‍♂️

Well at least the Switch 2 store is easier and way more responsive to navigate!! Switch 1 eshop is horrible in that sense- soooo painstakingly slow!!! I can’t even scroll through my whole wishlist on SW1 without it resetting and bringing me all the way back to the top of my list! So annoying!

As long as my library can come forward to the next Xbox I’ll be buying. The PC game aspect of this will be interesting to see as well as far as what games are available but not on Xbox.

That’s just fine Nintendo but just give us a purchase option that’s all I ask!!

I’m hope the plans are to cover a variety of consoles like Genesis and Master System. I don’t expect Sega Saturn although that would be great! The Nintendo consoles are obviously gonna be in the mix and the ps one has a ton a great possibilities!! Looking forward to it!!

I hope their classic IPs they’re redoing are gonna be good - looking forward to the new Crazy Taxi game! But also they should really consider letting Hamster put out their old classic arcade games like Konami and Taito are doing. Sega Ages on the switch was killed way too quickly- sooo many classic Sega games were overlooked!’

Looks pretty darn good to me! I’ll have to place on the wishlist and keep an eye on it. But oh man I’d LOVE to see a new Sega Rally Championship, Outrun or even Virtua Racing would be sweet!

@Antraxx777 lol I’m hoping they pull it off and surprise us all with a new Outrun game being they’re redoing some classic franchises like Crazy Taxi (hope they don't screw that one up) so wishful thinking on my part but damn a new Outrun for me would be a day 1! Hell I’ll even settle for a remaster of Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast from the OG Xbox! 😆

While I DO HAVE an interest in Yakuza games, the whole series having arcades tucked away in these worlds just makes you beg for this Sega arcade collection already! But I mean where is it already? I thought we were close when they trademarked the “Arcade Paradise” name but I guess not lol. Cmon SEGA!! I got 400G in memory all tied up with various Yakuza games I beat but keep downloaded just to play these Sega arcade games! 🤣🤣

Say what you want about Limited Run but at least I’m still not waiting on preorders from 2022-2023!! Yea YOU Strictly Limited!!! 🤬🤬🤬

@DwaynesGames yup Taito & Namco games go on sale most frequently. Just about grabbed them all by now lol. But they do need to shake it up a little more with other IP owners.

While I’m glad Hamster is putting out more recent arcade games, $17 is just too much to ask. Even the Switch 1 version at $15. I’ll wait for a sale like I always do as rare as Hamster sales are. But I continue to applaud what Hamster is doing from Day 1. Outside of emulation, there’s really no way to play many of these games anymore! Keep em coming Hamster!

I think it’s insane that Nintendo wants $70 for the 2 Galaxies. While I’m happy they’re both on switch now, they should be $30 each tops. Even though they’re both still amazing games lol.

@YANDMAN right I meant the arcade versions of course but I didn’t assume that all 3 titles were in the arcade first: Hell if that’s the case, then put both versions of each game in there!

I loved the first one on Genesis. And nice to see the Atari Jaguar version in here! So I’m in!! Just rather not purchase from LR if I can help it. Maybe I’ll wait and see if it shows up in the Atari Age Store? Although sometimes waiting on them can be a while as well.

I bought the PS4 version being Sony (and Microsoft) still issues reward points for purchases unlike greedy Nintendo that killed the gold coins. Terrible corporate greed big N!
Anyway RR is a good game but yea I agree that it is overpriced and I hate that we only have the first person view of your car. That being said, I’m excited to see what else Hamster has in store for the Arcade Archives 2 line up!
