I’ve been gaming and collecting since the 2600 and today I’m probably in the area of owning 8000 physical games and probably 1/2 or more are still factory Sealed. Running a business and taking care of my family has forced me to evolve into more of a collector than gamer the last 15 years buying games still thinking I’ll have a chance to try them one out day but of course, that’s how I collected so many sealed games now because that never seems to happen. Its also because i do buy tons of digital games as well, so if i buy Need for Speed on sale for $5, obviously my physical sealed copy is not ever going to be opened. Every once and a while just for the hell of it, I’ll mess around on eBay and search sealed games I own and sometimes I’m blown away by the prices they list for. DS & 3DS games are really up there in price lately, although mostly RPGs. When I show this stuff to wife with excitement and disbelief, she simply says sell it!! Yea Easier said then done. Ah she doesn’t understand! But Maybe one day I can retire, kids will be married & out, and I just MIGHT finally have extra time to do some serious gaming again like when I was a kid with no worries or responsibilities. Otherwise, I’d like to leave them behind for my kids to sell off after I die. Problem with that theory is, they don’t have the first clue about what I own and what might be worth something significant. I try to educate them on it sometimes but it’s tough…very little interest if any. My 18 year old son games but is definitely in the category of digital only and never goes to the store to buy a physical game lol no way. But when his friends come over to game with him, they go bananas when they see my collection which I do get a kick out of and some satisfaction from, after they tell my son how lucky he is lol. Meanwhile I also agree with many here that emulation or owning modded systems has for me at least, become a must for a multitude of reasons. Old games with license issues that we all wish for but will never see the light of day on modern consoles, a lack of space to keep all my systems hooked up and an overall convenience as well. It’s real nice & convenient to have a modded Genesis, Snes and Nes minis with 7000+ games on them all on one tiny console and the kind of conveniences that many of us gamers love to have. And I don’t feel guilty at all about having them because only GOD knows how much money I’ve actually spent over a 45 year period on this industry and my favorite hobby of all time! And I will continue to do that ESPECIALLY to support any developer, publisher etc that brings forward classic games to today’s consoles for us all to enjoy. Some recent examples of this would be the 2 pack of Zombies Ate My Neighbors/Ghoul Patrol, the Disney classics with Aladdin & Lion King(now they’re adding Jungle Book?), Dragons Lair Trilogy, Sega Ages, and the endless parade of Hamster classics on the Switch and PS4. Every time one of them do it, I open my wallet immediately because IMO, they deserve our support bringing these old classics forward! Lastly, some of you touched on this, someone in this industry has got to try to figure out how the heck they can do a better job on video game preservation like they do with books and movies. When I read about stuff like Sega losing the source code to games like Panzer Dragoon Saga, it just makes me cringe!! Happy Gaming all!! 😊
@MeloMan lol 😂 yea unfortunately- only time will make all this bad go away, like when you lose a loved one life goes on and time heals, for some quicker then others, but it does. We all have to hang In there one day at a time and try to offer each other respect and try to be better listeners.

@Scrubicius I meant first grade and stated 4 years old in error. 1st grade, 2nd, 3rd 4th grade - not much difference to me but for some reason 1st grade sticks in my head. anyway, So I Read about it in an article i saw i believe in the NY Post late last year i forgot where but I believe it was somewhere out in the Midwest. Parents were upset & gathered at a round table speaking individually and appealing to educators sitting at a deus claiming that children should not be thinking about penis and vaginas at their age and IMO yes i do happen to agree. Cartoon Videos were displayed explaining how it’s nice to touch yourself because it just feels good?? What? It’s just too young of an age. When I was in first grade I certainly never had such thoughts. My prime thoughts was my GI Joe doll with the Kung Fu grip lol. As far as being taught by a professional, that’s not a lock-in for normalcy. Some people regardless of profession, are unfortunately out of their right minds. Again 7th or 8th grade is more appropriate but ok I’ll concede to even 5th or 6th grade. Bottom line is I feel most parents not all, but most parents would rather handle this task themselves. My kids are grown now but we had our conversations when needed and I took comfort knowing that they were comfortable enough to come to me for advice or with questions.

His Stand up was awesome & hilarious and he also proved himself a very versatile actor for Dramas like Insomnia, Awakenings, and One Hour Photo! Can’t believe it’s 7 years already!!

@SpringDivorce no doubt about it! In 4 short years the Switch has become an Arcade retro powerhouse! Might have even surpassed the PS2 by now. Only thing still sorely missing is the Midway/Atari Games arcade classics and there’s a truck ton of them- which Warner Bros hasn’t done a damn thing with and doesn’t seem likely anytime soon. But that would surely complete this picture!

And again owning the 5200 Jungle Hunt cart I just assumed that was the original name it was given and also remember playing in the Arcade same name. But i also remember seeing Jungle King in the arcades back then also and assumed THAT was the rip off to Hunt.
But very interesting nonetheless. I assume Coleco Holdings is the same Colecovision people? I thought they went under way way back.

So If they never release it as Jungle Hunt I may have to grab Pirate Pete down the road lol. But perhaps it was released as Pirate Pete due to some licensing issues? 🤷♂️

Another physical edition?? I already own the Switch and Ps4 copies from LR and also bought the PS4 version again at Best Buy under the name Bare Knuckles. The DLC is a nice touch but if we’re gonna release it again in stores why not toss in the first 3 SOR Genesis titles for good measure??
Pirate Pete hit the Switch last week and it hit me that it’s a direct rip off of Jungle Hunt which Taito also owns. So I found it odd that this PP game was released instead of Jungle Hunt itself? Strange indeed.
@MrFox understandable about bubble bobble and I have a copy of the 4 friends disc. But I’d assume some don’t want to drop $40 because it has the arcade classic included as opposed to an $8 single release like hamster does or including it here. You mentioned some nice selections there too and just reiterates my point that so much was left on the table here even if this initial collection was limited to the 80s era. But overall jeez there’s just a ton of Taito games I would love to see! Someone here mentioned rereleasing the Taito Legends discs instead from the Ps2 era. I’d gladly take that. But Again hopefully this is like a volume 1 and more will come in the future. 🙏
Omg I was so excited to click on this then I saw the lineup. 😖 not even 10 games?? Many many 80s classics missing. Jungle Hunt? Arkanoid? Operation Wolf? space Dungeon? Bubble Bobble? Rainbow Islands to name a few. Plus if it’s digital only then most of these games can be snagged via the Hamster lineup. I don’t get it. And there’s the question of whether this will even come west and the price tag. Very excited then disappointed afterwards. Let’s hope this is just the first volume?

@MarcusIsCool hi Marcus you’re correct I am a very good person and I appreciate your response but I’m not so sure your response helps me along here:
1) Trump got voted out cause too many people on the left hate him when all he tried to do was look out for America over other countries. I think everyone regardless of who they wanted in agrees that the voting went down very very differently this time around. I find it incomprehensible that Trumps rallies had thousands of people and Biden had 8 or 9 yet Biden won but that’s fine I’ve come to accept it even though was shocking. But hey There was plenty times I yelled at the TV to tell Trump “ oh man ughhh shut the hell up don’t even say that you idiot” lol 😂 I disagreed with quite a few things he said and did.
2/3) is it really better today than a year ago??? Hmmm 🤔 doesn’t look like it to me and many many others! But fine that’s your opinion. I will agree with you however that last year was eerily similar to a Zombie movie or Raccoon City lol yes well put! but of course that is when the lockdown first hit. But I thought by now we’d all be back to normal and working and that 17 months later we’d all be looking over our shoulders at this dreadful virus- quite frustrating for us all yes indeed.
4) no President ever gets to all their campaign promises if any at all so that’s always been that way. I never felt the troops should still be there all these years either
5) if unemployment is getting better than why can’t we find any help? Driver shortages in the transportation industry for example, are unheard of, all with higher wages being offered then ever before including sign bonuses. The $300 unemployment stimulus MUST end enough now no? Doesn’t Joe’s administration wanna see people back to work come off the
governments nipple by now? I’m not so sure yet. Seems to me that they want the citizens to be dependent on government.
6) hey If i have to take a “booster” shot then so be it - but what’s next?? It doesn’t end! I mean I’m no scientist either, but at this point why don’t we all just start wearing full Bio-lab suits daily to work etc etc and call it a day?? Lol 😂

And the beauty of having a healthy conversation about it is that I can say that I totally disagree with your statement (because I feel Biden has been a complete disaster) but at least the conversation is being had in a healthy fashion as it should be.

@kingbk I agree with you 100% on doing away with all parties because I really don’t care what party your from so long as your main concern is doing what’s right for the people of this union and serving them accordingly and NOT to line your pockets. I’m not far right left or center. I try to use logic and reason everyday in all aspects of life. @anzzjam I care about people in general period. I assumed the exit from Afghanistan wouldn’t be easy but I didn’t expect Kabul Airport to be surrounded either. I caved & My Vaccine is done under protest so let’s see if it will matter, so far doesn’t seem like it will when you hear talks of booster shots being the next step & necessary. I don’t Love Trump but I’d rather he be in again then Joe.

One of my favorites! Heartbreaking ending to a comical genius! Depression is such a beast!!! Aladdin, Garp, Doubtfire, Vietnam, RV, Patch Adams, The Birdcage are some of my favorites! His Stand up was awesome & hilarious and he also proved himself a very versatile actor for Dramas like Insomnia, Awakenings, and One Hour Photo! Can’t believe it’s 7 years already!!

No two FMV games made more of an impact on me then Night Trap and Ground Zero Texas on Sega CD! They both blew my mind! Nice to have them both on current gen.

@SpringDivorce no doubt about it! In 4 short years the Switch has become an Arcade retro powerhouse! Might have even surpassed the PS2 by now. Only thing still sorely missing is the Midway/Atari Games arcade classics and there’s a truck ton of them- which Warner Bros hasn’t done a damn thing with and doesn’t seem likely anytime soon. But that would surely complete this picture!

And again owning the 5200 Jungle Hunt cart I just assumed that was the original name it was given and also remember playing in the Arcade same name. But i also remember seeing Jungle King in the arcades back then also and assumed THAT was the rip off to Hunt.
But very interesting nonetheless. I assume Coleco Holdings is the same Colecovision people? I thought they went under way way back.
The other thing here is wow so Sega lost the Zaxxon trademark?? That’s just irresponsible of them with their IP. Nintendo would never allow that to happen for sure. Thanks for the info. @KingMike well I still own a copy of Jungle Hunt for the Atari 5200 so I’d have to assume that is the official name and version of the game. So If they never release it as Jungle Hunt I may have to grab Pirate Pete down the road lol. But perhaps it was released as Pirate Pete due to some licensing issues? 🤷♂️

Another physical edition?? I already own the Switch and Ps4 copies from LR and also bought the PS4 version again at Best Buy under the name Bare Knuckles. The DLC is a nice touch but if we’re gonna release it again in stores why not toss in the first 3 SOR Genesis titles for good measure??

@MrFox understandable about bubble bobble and I have a copy of the 4 friends disc. But I’d assume some don’t want to drop $40 because it has the arcade classic included as opposed to an $8 single release like hamster does or including it here. You mentioned some nice selections there too and just reiterates my point that so much was left on the table here even if this initial collection was limited to the 80s era. But overall jeez there’s just a ton of Taito games I would love to see! Someone here mentioned rereleasing the Taito Legends discs instead from the Ps2 era. I’d gladly take that. But Again hopefully this is like a volume 1 and more will come in the future. 🙏

Omg I was so excited to click on this then I saw the lineup. 😖 not even 10 games?? Many many 80s classics missing. Jungle Hunt? Arkanoid? Operation Wolf? space Dungeon? Bubble Bobble? Rainbow Islands to name a few. Plus if it’s digital only then most of these games can be snagged via the Hamster lineup. I don’t get it. And there’s the question of whether this will even come west and the price tag. Very excited then disappointed afterwards. Let’s hope this is just the first volume?
