I just saw Mario 3D all stars at Best Buy and almost tempted me to buy my 3rd copy but I resisted

One of my favorites! Heartbreaking ending to a comical genius! Depression is such a beast!!! Aladdin, Garp, Doubtfire, Vietnam, RV, Patch Adams, The Birdcage are some of my favorites! His Stand up was awesome & hilarious and he also proved himself a very versatile actor for Dramas like Insomnia, Awakenings, and One Hour Photo! Can’t believe it’s 7 years already!!

@Lord whoa!! I just learned something today! That’s really amazing! And I didn’t know that! Both Robocop and ESPECIALLY Starship Troopers are some of my all time favorite flicks!! I think Starship Troopers is amazing I must’ve watched it 100x over the years!! Thanks for the tidbit!

No two FMV games made more of an impact on me then Night Trap and Ground Zero Texas on Sega CD! They both blew my mind! Nice to have them both on current gen.

@SpringDivorce no doubt about it! In 4 short years the Switch has become an Arcade retro powerhouse! Might have even surpassed the PS2 by now. Only thing still sorely missing is the Midway/Atari Games arcade classics and there’s a truck ton of them- which Warner Bros hasn’t done a damn thing with and doesn’t seem likely anytime soon. But that would surely complete this picture!

@Atariboy wow!! Very interesting legal view of this! I never heard of Pirate Pete till now. And again owning the 5200 Jungle Hunt cart I just assumed that was the original name it was given and also remember playing in the Arcade same name. But i also remember seeing Jungle King in the arcades back then also and assumed THAT was the rip off to Hunt.
But very interesting nonetheless. I assume Coleco Holdings is the same Colecovision people? I thought they went under way way back.
The other thing here is wow so Sega lost the Zaxxon trademark?? That’s just irresponsible of them with their IP. Nintendo would never allow that to happen for sure. Thanks for the info. I’ve seen you around on this site plenty of times before I can only assume you know a thing or two about Atari based on your user name lol 😂

@KingMike well I still own a copy of Jungle Hunt for the Atari 5200 so I’d have to assume that is the official name and version of the game. So If they never release it as Jungle Hunt I may have to grab Pirate Pete down the road lol. But perhaps it was released as Pirate Pete due to some licensing issues? 🤷‍♂️

@Heavyarms55 amen! Well said! I never liked the service from Day 1. It’s incredible to me that they can’t get past the Snes console on NSO when we all know what the original Wii selection had! Unreal! And I HATE that you can’t even purchase a game if you want to! Terrible format! GameCube games on Switch?? Maybe when I’m dead lol

@SpringDivorce funny you mentioned that with the kids. I have a huge collection I’m probably gonna leave behind for them to sell off. Problem is they don’t have the first clue about what I own in terms of its value lol.

Another physical edition?? I already own the Switch and Ps4 copies from LR and also bought the PS4 version again at Best Buy under the name Bare Knuckles. The DLC is a nice touch but if we’re gonna release it again in stores why not toss in the first 3 SOR Genesis titles for good measure??

Pirate Pete hit the Switch last week and it hit me that it’s a direct rip off of Jungle Hunt which Taito also owns. So I found it odd that this PP game was released instead of Jungle Hunt itself? Strange indeed.

@MrFox understandable about bubble bobble and I have a copy of the 4 friends disc. But I’d assume some don’t want to drop $40 because it has the arcade classic included as opposed to an $8 single release like hamster does or including it here. You mentioned some nice selections there too and just reiterates my point that so much was left on the table here even if this initial collection was limited to the 80s era. But overall jeez there’s just a ton of Taito games I would love to see! Someone here mentioned rereleasing the Taito Legends discs instead from the Ps2 era. I’d gladly take that. But Again hopefully this is like a volume 1 and more will come in the future. 🙏

Hoping for even more exciting E3 announcements from Sega.

Omg I was so excited to click on this then I saw the lineup. 😖 not even 10 games?? Many many 80s classics missing. Jungle Hunt? Arkanoid? Operation Wolf? space Dungeon? Bubble Bobble? Rainbow Islands to name a few. Plus if it’s digital only then most of these games can be snagged via the Hamster lineup. I don’t get it. And there’s the question of whether this will even come west and the price tag. Very excited then disappointed afterwards. Let’s hope this is just the first volume?

Looks Pretty cool but I’d Rather see Taito do an arcade collection for Switch and other current gen consoles! The chance to play Arkanoid with a trackball controller however is VERY tempting indeed!

Aside from my arcade mentions above, I recently dived into all the Artifex Mundi Adventure games on a chance when one was on sale for $2 Vs the normal $15. Enjoyable games if you like the classic item search and lite story & puzzles (not a big puzzle element guy either) but now I’ve been grabbing them all for $2 a piece lol

@kingbk right the Midway Arcade Origins collection which luckily I have both PS3 and 360 discs but I even downloaded it on 360 which as you probably know, is backwards compatible to play on Xbox one and Series x/s. Bonus!
But yea the fact that that collection is 10 years ago is another reason why I don’t see it happening. The awesome classics they own just sit dormant. 😟

Even if it mirrored the Wii U eshop set up that alone would be awesome!! Cmon Nintendo it’s 4 years now. Jeez

1) A new Sonic collection (and not the rehash from the cube Xbox and ps2) with additional and/or more recent games like Dreamcast Sonic Adventure 1&2
2) A remastered Sonic game be it Sonic Heroes, Generations or Colors
3) Dare I say a brand new Sonic entry?? Maybe based on the Sonic Movie??

@Marxally that’s true. I really only buy LR games that I’m truly interested in like classics such as the recent Castlevania Collection, Panzer Dragoon etc. Not really big on most of the indie games that they put out .

Awesome!! Had a great time with this game and the sequel on Xbox but I’m gonna hold off however as the price is just too steep for a digital game and it’s not even a remaster. $15 would be more of a fair price IMO.

I learned my lesson there but don’t have too many loose carts! One thing I did do was cut the hang tabs off the Genesis boxes just to fit them better there were really a pain in the ass but I’m sure just with no hang tabs I probably devalued them a little. But kudos to Sega for those lovely plastic game cases for the master system and Genesis games!! They last much much longer than cardboard

They’d rather focus on getting their legacy content on switch?? What at the rate of 4-5 games every 3 months?? I’d buy that answer if the Switch online was flooded with them but it’s not! And STILL 4 years in we’re limited to only Nes and Snes games!! Cmon people that’s terrible! The Wii had N64 games for Pete’s sake 😡
Good thing I have 4 of each classic consoles and 3 modded and loaded with 7000+ classic games from a variety of classic systems ☺️

@DaDebbil someone had mentioned that it may be my internet connection but it can’t be. Yea it’s a terrible experience. If they categorized the games on sale by genre at least that would help a little and you can zero in more on what interests you. Yea Same here 1/2 the trailers you can’t even watch!! 🙄

I assume there are many like myself totally frustrated trying to navigate the Switch eshop! It’s sooo annoying to attempt to scroll through more than a thousand games on sale each week and then out of the blue the page refreshes and brings you back to the top leaving you no choice but to start all over again- If you even want to bother at that point!! They have to do SOMETHING! Jeez! The Wii U eshop is even better!! I’d be happy with that at the least! 🤪
