Switch 2 Backwards compatibility digitally and physically is AN ABSOLUTE MUST!!! Too many great games to leave behind!

I Definitely expect full backwards compatibility after all the physical and digital money I’ve spent on my Switch library. A larger console memory than 32-64G for Pete’s sake and MOST OF ALL a much improved navigational experience in the switch eshop?? It’s just horrible!! Ughhh! Even the Wii U eshop layout is better and has NO LAG!

I’ll never forget the first time I saw Fantasy Zone on the Master System and how it blew me away!! I was a huge Sega fan didn’t have an NES and was perfectly happy with my Master System, Amiga and Atari 7800. But damn the Sega Master System was impressive at the time! It would be awesome to see Sega do a Master System mini!! Day 1.

That’s ridiculous! Plenty of space to include it all physically! 🤬

Again 10 games is a small collection for $35! Taito games are generally very expensive.

I still say they’re out of their minds asking $40 Game Gear games added doesn’t help justify either. Now if they threw in Sonic Adventure 1&2….

The most important thing to me is that it will be backwards compatible with both Physical and Digital Switch eshop games or me and Nintendo are DONE. 🤨🤨
Oh and straighten out the switch eshop! Absolutely horrible!!

I already have 3 modded Wii’s with 2TB external drives loaded with GameCube and Wii games, almost the entire library for both so I’m good and let’s face it if we keep waiting on Nintendo to bring consoles like GameCube & wii forward to Switch most of us will be dead by that time!! Lol 😂
Nice emulation progress to see here tho as Nintendo still continues to fart around with the older systems and charge us a high sub as well. 😡 with NO purchase option!

Problem is all those Midway/Atari Games classics are owned by Warner bros who haven’t done a darn thing with them since the midway origins collection back in the PS3/360 days! Luckily tho the 360 version is backwards compatible so we can play it on our Xbox one & Series X! But yea sorely missing those games especially on the Switch!

I think this “New” Atari is doing a pretty good job at being the old Atari powerhouse that once was! Certainly a better job running it than the Tramiel family did! And I’m Having a blast with this Atari 50 collection! Hoping for a volume 2!

Having fun with the. Collection but I’m still missing Atari 5200 Baseball and Countermeasure! 2 great games I don’t understand how they got left behind! Definitely can’t be a license issue! Volume 2 hopefully??

I don’t know who’s running Atari these days but they’re doing a pretty damn good job - better than the Tramiel family did back in the 90s that’s for sure Although I do love my Jaguar! Lol
But of course the original Atari company was the best!

2 things: 1- BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY with Switch games (digital and physical) for certain or I’m done with you Nintendo
AND 2 - they REALLY need to straighten out the Switch Eshop!! Absolutely horrible! Worst digital store to browse ever!! Even the Wii U eshop blows it away!!

@Serpenterror was never the biggest MK fan or fighting games in general but hey toss the first three MK games in there with the other classics and it’s a Day one purchase for me! Lol just don’t see any indication of it happening!
Thankfully the 360 version of Midway Arcade Origins is backwards compatible so I can still play those on my Series X! So Kudos to Microsoft there!

I should add thx to the comments that I’d LOVE to see a Sega Arcade collection- I don’t know what the problem is Sega but I’m still bugged about you guys pulling the plug on the Sega Ages line! And it was only on Switch to make even less sense!
Also would love to see an Activision 2600 collection as they’re some of the best games ever made for the Atari 2600!! Many of them still play soooo well today!!

I wish Warner Bros would get off their tail and put out a nice big juicy compilation of Midway/Atari Games classic arcade game collection for the current consoles! Sorely missed by many!!!

@kingbk I would love to see that happen!! It’s the biggest group of classic arcade games missing from the switch. Warners Bros has to open up the vault though. Doesn’t seem like they’re interested in doing so. Sorely missing for sure.

I was hoping the other non Nintendo Arcade Archives would be on sale for Black Friday! I Guess not but for $3.99, I’d pick up a whole bunch and trim down my wishlist a great deal too lol 😝

Everyone has to realize that those 2600 games were all we knew and they were amazing back then! Some of them still hold up pretty well! The other thing is the mindset back then was beating your own or someone else’s high score! That’s what kept you playing for hours and hours!

Meanwhile for me, This collection is worth the price of admission just for the 7800,Lynx & Jaguar games added! Also a great bonus is 2 REALLY rare games to find today Miner 2049er & Bounty Bob Strikes Back! Both classic games on the Atari computers and the Atari 5200!

The next switch iteration we all know will never be as powerful as Sony and Microsoft systems. AS LONG as you can use the current Switch game library digital and physical, I’m good! Otherwise BYE Nintendo!

Wow Planet Smashers and motor psycho also yup and one has to wonder about Midnight Mutants as well. Maybe they’re purposely holding off for a potential Volume 2. Desert Falcon & Alien Brigade missing is also a surprise.

@rockodoodle Paperboy WAS Atari Games along with Gauntlet, Klax, Marble Madness, Xybots, Toobin, Roadblasters & quite a few others. They all ended up under Warner ownership with the midway classics as well.

@mattesdude that’s the biggest hole in the switch arcade classic library- the Atari Games/Midway arcade games owed by Warner Bros who by the way seem to be letting them all sit dormant! Tons of classics we’re missing!

My favorite recharged game so far has been Asteroids! I’m totally hooked! Black Widow & Centipede is pretty good too! I know they’re all available in the Flashback collection but Atari should really toss in the original arcade classics with each recharged release imo. I’ll grab Yars at some point 👍

Been collecting for the Atari 7800, Jaguar and N64 lately. Jag and N64 tough to emulate and 7800 and Jaguar & 7800 have tons of homebrew games with more to come! But damn Jaguar is expensive certain games!
Overall my game collection might be closing in on 9000 games, approximately 1/2 which are still factory sealed. I’ll leave it for the kids to sell off when the big guy says it’s my time to go! Lol

Great game just happened to dive back into it the other night! Was hoping to hear news of a sequel but 170 tracks is ample! For now. Couple people here mentioned Sega and doing a new Outrun which would be awesome and in thinking about it if they’re adding some Outrun games to the Genesis mini 2 then it makes one hope it’s a possibility. LOVE Outrun 2 and Outrun 2006!!

Day 1 Baby and might even grab 2 of them! Next on sega’s list hopefully in the years to follow should be a Saturn mini!! That would be awesome! Hell even a Master System mini would be cool!! 😎

Or you can just jam on any of the hundreds and hundreds of Arcade classics & retro console games for short bursts of fun.
