That’s why on this subject, and adding in Sony’s recent decisions i have to say over and over and over again, physical is KING! Ya gotta get in your damn car drive to the store and hunt down the game you want. Hell even if your so adamant about NOT going to the store and ordering a game online instead, AT LEAST physical gaming is still being supported!!! We never truly owned our wii Virtual console games, wiiware digital purchases and now we will all see our PS3, PSP and Vita digital purchases slowly head into oblivion!!

@Papichulo that’s a big part of the answer right there! I have 3 modded Wii’s, 3 modded Snes and Nes mini consoles all with 7000+ games , 1 original modded Xbox with 50k retro games on it and recently a modded Genesis mini!! I’m not missing out just because this industry can’t get its ***** together! Now that said, my physical purchases going back to the 2600 days exceeds 8000 games so I’ve spent untold money over 40 years on this hobby and along the way, EVERY SINGLE time a company re-releases an older game or an arcade compilation on whatever current gen console at that time, I’m there ready with my wallet to support that decision!! But the fact remains is sooo many games will never ever be legitimately released again because of these variations of rights and ownership issues. For this reason the method of emulation is our savior if you wanna play say Turtles in Time among countless others!! 😊

Well the game is 20 years old now. I remember enjoying it however. I’ll wait on a sale down the road. Should’ve been $10 not $20 cmon Aspyr!

Still makes no sense to me but whatever! I downloaded it and have 2 sealed physical copies in the vault!! Perhaps Super Mario Galaxy 2 next please??

@Wexter lol as a kid I absolutely loved my 5200! I also loved the Colecovision but overall I grew up a huge Atari fan! The article unfortunately tipped the scales in favor of the colecovision system due to better arcade quality ports such as Mr. Do, Donkey Kong, Mouse Trap and Lady Bug. Now I didn’t agree with the article lol cause the 5200 had its own share of excellent arcade ports such as Centipede, Missle Command, Pole Position, Ms Pac man, Dig Dug and Others. Problem was the article accused Atari of rehashing titles already available on the 2600 and Atari 400/800 computers with no fresh titles for the 52. So Colecovision got the nod. And btw both systems controllers were horrible lol. But my brothers and I had a blast with both systems!! ☺️

I have a full pallet of video game magazines in storage going back to the early 80s & all the way to when they just about died one by one! Once and a while I search an issue by memory on eBay and shocked to see what some are being sold for!! My wife tells me to sell them but nope not yet lol. One of my favorites is the issue of Electronic Games Magazine which did a big article of “The Atari 5200 Vs Colecovision” comparing features and game cart libraries etc, among countless others! Ahhh the memories!! ☺️

Not familiar with this one but I’m gonna grab it because it looks great!! And it’s from the 90’s so something a bit newer! Go Hamster!!!

Always hesitant to buy games digitally on a Nintendo console cause it’s usually doubtful that your purchases will come forward to the next console. Wii and Wii U and with Sony, PS3 are good examples of this. So for me, any digital purchase that’s over $15- $20 requires my careful considerations! So If there is a “Switch 2” in our future, I hope it will be BC!! Would be nice! We already know ps5 won’t be running your PS3 digital purchases so I can’t help but consider them almost history! All that being said I still find Luigi’s Mansion 3 quite tempting lol 😂

@Wavey84 not sure about Darius-G except for ordering through SL like I did. But I’m pretty sure ININ the publisher of some Taito games like Bubble Bobble, Ninja Warriors & Space Invaders could possibly be putting out Cotton Reboot, which I also ordered through SL. I thought I read that on this site.
Btw you’re calling it “Cotton Returns” but it’s Cotton Reboot UNLESS we’re not talking about the same game?? 🤷‍♂️

I’m surprised these games aren’t yet available in the North American eshop but I did order the The Darius Cozmic Revelation games from SL. So at their pace I should receive my games oh sometime in 2022 lol 😂🙄

A direct rip off of Jet Set and Another missed opportunity by Sega! So that’s Jet Set and Crazy Taxi clones all in the same week Sega. But you just keep your classic franchises dormant 🤦‍♂️ 🙄

It’s a nice collection but they did leave quite a few classics out. Why stop at 3 packs?? A Pack 4 and pack 5 would cure that though but my gut feeling is there stopping with 3 packs....let’s hope not.

@Oh_Well is it really still available on PS3 for $10?? Gotta check that out!! I have CT on my Xbox one and series X via BC but still! 😁

@kingbk well said!! I’ve been saying this since Sega announced the Ages line was over!! I just don’t get the logic at all! Who’s running the show there?!? Countless Sega classics were left behind. My Ages wishlist was real long! I had some hope after Virtua Racing hit but nope! What a Disappointment!!

I had a hunch this wasn’t going to receive the greatest review and what are they smoking asking $35?? Sega you still have a chance to plug this hole. Crazy Taxi 1,2 Lost in NY and 3 High Roller from the OG Xbox pretty please! Now THOSE 3 I’d pay $35 for the whole bundle!! Cmon Sega Jeez!! So frustrating!!

@kingbk a lot gamers keep mentioning the Midway/Atari Arcade games lately and for good reason. There’s just sooo many great games we don’t have on the Switch!! I’d kill to see it happen lol!!

This is a nice collection (are you paying attention Sega for the love of God???) at 32 games. Very nice. But that said, there’s plenty of Capcom classics missing like Super Buster Bros/Pang, Giga Wing 2, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, king of dragons, Magic Sword and many many others so I hope it does well enough and Capcom adds another 10 pack or two! ALSO- I’m on the fence about a digital purchase only because I feel like 6 months down the road a physical version will be announced! This happens a lot and forces me to double dip!! So I may hang back a little bit. If I DO go digital then I might actually opt for the Xbox One version first which will also be playable on series X!! But at LEAST Capcom hasn’t forgotten about its classic library....unlike other companies we know....ahem SEGA

$35 is a bit steep but as long as it doesn’t suck and it does fill the gap that Sega refuses to plug! I thought we’d see Crazy Taxi in the ages line but nope! Denied!!

@Atariboy you stole my thunder! Lol I’d LOVE to see an Activision anthology again! The one they made for PS2 is an incredible collection but nothing since! Wishful thinking, they can even take it a step further and add titles from other consoles like Atari 5200 version of Megamania & River Raid, and 5200 exclusives like Dreadnought Factor, Zenji, Zone Ranger, Worm Whomper from the Intellivision console and maybe even Toy Bizarre that they published on the C64 computer!
Never happen though lol 😂

@TempestStotm Assuming you ARE aware it’s already available, if your waiting for sunset riders to go on sale you’ll probably have to wait a long while as it’s relatively new and a big title in the Hamster lineup. To many of us, it’s well worth the regular asking price of $8. So Don’t wait it’s such a great game well worth $8 IMO and so much fun with 2 players!

With Hamster having 240 or so games on the eshop this is a small selection of games here and I KNOW for a fact I grabbed Double Dragon during a previous Hamster sale way back and I’ve seen the weird Japanese game on sale a few times before too, so they need to increase the size of games on sale AND shake up the lineup a little bit too.

@sixrings yup I agree but I’d pay 10-15 bucks for games like crazy taxi, power drift, sega rally etc. I was actually shocked when Virtua Racing hit for only $8.00!

I think Hamster is doing a fabulous job no complaints here. As knowledgeable as I thought I was on the arcade classics, there’s definitely been a few they put out that I never heard of or are turds.
But as far as licensed games like Turtles etc, we will most likely NEVER see most of them ever!
Good thing I have my modded original Xbox, Nes and Snes classic & Genesis mini loaded to the gills with classic arcade games!! 😁

Not selling one old game ever! Trying to educate my son on the value of my collection which goes back to the 2600, but all he plays is call of duty lol. But he shows some interest here and there. When I die I told him sell it all and use the money for you and your sister Unless you want to keep some of it lol.

@Bass_X0 Capcom yes but has Hamster has put out quite a few Konami games like Frogger, Scramble, Super Cobra, Contra, Sunset Riders and others
Besides Capcom has their own collection coming up in February. Looking forward to that! 😊

Problem is though for any hope to see the Midway/Atari Games classics Hamster would have to strike a deal with Warner Bros who hasn’t done anything with the old games since the Midway Arcade Origins disc on PS3 and 360. Luckily I can play that title on my Xbox One and Series X Thx to BC! As far as Sega goes they had a chance with the Ages line on switch and for whatever stupid reason just ended the line. As usual with most Collections, Turrican is razor thin and missing quite a few versions Snes version comes to mind.

@RushDawg I just don’t get it at all! Who the hell is making the decisions there?? I remember SOJ was constantly breaking SOA’s shoes about many decisions but SOA is totally responsible for the success of the Genesis in the USA.

Not the same Konami for sure! I had some hope when they did the Anniversary collections but that came to a abrupt halt! If it wasn’t for the boys at Hamster we wouldn’t be getting ANY of Konami’s classic games on the Switch and PS4!! Ya gotta love ❤️ those Hamster fellas!!! 👍👍
