Re: "The Delays Have Been Unacceptable" - The Wait Continues For Rock It Games' Croc Physical

@SilverBullet_35 Yes, I will be avoiding any and all games from companies that have been doing AI as much as I can. Of course I'm well aware of the amount of AI usage Microsoft has been trying to push.

I can't predict how I'll feel about any given game going forward of course. If it's a game I want enough, I'll probably still get it if the company in question has stopped using AI like Argonaut has (though that hasn't happened yet afaik). But if they're as pushy about it as Microsoft, yeah I'll stop buying their games.

At least, until the AI bubble pops and things hopefully go back to before generative AI even was a thing. Probably won't happen, but hey, wishful thinking.

@SilverBullet_35 It's a shame, but that one post really did just make me lose all interest I had in the game. I'm not able to just (re)generate interest out of thin air.

Maybe if I ever see the game for dirt cheap I may feel like buying it, but as it is, they lost me. Petty or not, that's simply how I feel about it at the moment. But I will say I am glad to hear the criticism stuck with them at least, so thank you for letting me know on that front. Maybe that will actually do the trick in getting my interest back over time, but it's just not there at the moment.

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Cheap Upgrade, But Lacking Substance

Yosher

I still think it's silly to charge for Switch 2 upgrades that are (almost) only for Switch 2 features, even if it is cheap. We already paid for the console, so if you ask me, we already paid for that privilege to enjoy those Switch 2 features. Of course if it comes with actual content, like with Kirby and Mario Wonder, then it makes more sense to me. I've bought very few Switch 2 upgrades as a result really. And I won't be getting this upgrade either for that reason.

Re: LEGO Pokémon Reveals First Sets, Launches February 2026

@Indielink @ShadLink I am aware, but doesn't change the fact that Eevee is the most affordable one, even if it's more expensive on a per-brick basis.

You know, I'd wonder if enough people would buy this to make it worth it, but... it's Pokémon. It's very likely gonna sell like hotcakes despite the price.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Mario Power Tennis (GameCube)

Yosher

Japan wins a lot of these, but not this time. EU/NA clears this one easily.

That one having Yoshi on the cover is a nice (big) bonus for me, but even if another character was in his place there, that cover would still win easily.

However, looking closer at it, makes you wonder why there's 5 characters on court, and at least 3 of them are on one side of the net. It still wins easy, but that seems a bit silly when you look at it closer. lol

Re: Nintendo Accused Of Using AI Images In New 'My Mario' Marketing

Yosher

I am so, so, so sick of AI being used everywhere. Every day I see articles and posts about "this uses AI now!" and "that uses AI now too!". It's so sickening. I really have to keep myself from saying things that could get me in trouble here but I hope this AI bubble pops spectacularly before long and that everyone who even so much as supports it loses every penny on their bank account and having an actual human being replacing them at their job. This stuff is actually making me seething mad.

That said, I don't believe AI is used here.

Re: Nintendo Reveals First New Joy-Con 2 Colours For Switch 2

Yosher

This is the equivalent of me saying I have new underwear but the only way other people can see it is if my pants sag due to lack of a belt. You won't really see it. Visual design wise, Switch 2 joy con suck, and it's the only department the Switch 1 joy con are just better.

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

Yosher

Since they're including baby Waluigi they better also include baby Yoshi. You know, the ORIGINAL baby introduced before even baby Mario. Can't believe they keep forgetting this one in spin offs, you never see baby Yoshi even though it makes the most sense out of all the babies. And if they can make a Chain Chomp playable, they sure as heck can make a baby dinosaur playable.

Re: Talking Point: Our 2026 Nintendo And Switch 2 Predictions

Yosher

@Fabilous They probably could do that, but they would need to rework elements of the game that I can't really see them doing here. The Mario Party one is just pairing characters up in teams, for Mario Kart they would have to make karts (and maybe bikes) that allow 2 characters to ride them, not to mention having to make new animations for all the characters for when they're not the one driving. It's just much more complex in that sense. They could do teams without pairing characters up in one vehicle, but then it wouldn't really be a true Double Dash mode.

If they want to make it happen though, I'd be all for it!

"I'm sure Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is on everyone's card here"

Hahahahahahahahahahaha..... no. Not after learning it used AI. Even if it was supposedly patched out early. I don't care. It's banned from my list.

"But the biggest one, Super Smash Bros. Melee, is weirdly absent"

Smash 64 isn't even on there yet. That one will probably come sometime next year. Melee will probably not arrive until at least a year later if I had to take a guess. Besides, Melee is already a bit harder to pull off due to some copyright shenanigans on a few things. We won't see it in 2026. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though!

Either way. I don't really expect overly much excitement in the coming year for me, aside from Nintendo's own games. It'll be game key cards and AI games left and right, and it's honestly very depressing to see that development.

Aside from that I don't really know much to predict though. Well, except for the obvious "more games coming". We'll see what the year brings. I just hope it won't be as bleak as I currently think it will be.

One thing I want though: Mario Kart Double Dash on NSO. Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Super Circuit were all available at launch of their respective Switch Online apps, and the only reason that's not the case for Double Dash, or why it's not even been revealed as one of the games yet, is because they don't want to distract from Mario Kart World, of course. I don't think we'll get Double Dash until 2027 at least yet either, for that reason. But I would love to have it.
