Re: Tetris 99 Celebrates MAR10 Day With Super Mario Galaxy Cup, Unlock A Special Theme

Yosher

@JohnnyMind I've played it before, it just didn't really keep me hooked and I don't have much intention to really boot it up again. Especially since I already missed so many themes at this point anyway, haha.
I honestly much prefer their other efforts, Mario 35 and F-Zero 99. Those are more my forte. But it is nice to see Tetris 99 getting so much continued support!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Pokopia?

Yosher

I give the game a lot of flack for being released as a GKC but it's genuinely nice to see people enjoying it so much, and I do enjoy seeing the little clips and such pass by on social media. If it ever goes on sale on the eShop I might dive in that way, the game isn't super big in file size so I don't mind too much for this one.

Of course by the time I'll be getting it, this article will have been buried way into oblivion, so I won't be rating it, but you know. lol

Re: Nintendo "Cagey" About Letting Games On Switch 2, Wants To Avoid "Slop Fest"

Yosher

Yeah, they're not doing a very good job of it when you browse the eShop LOL. So many games that are clearly AI slop. If we can just get those AI things out that would already immensely improve things. Yes I know those are Switch 1 games but they're still on Switch 2.

....I'll just console myself with the idea that some poor sap at Nintendo probably had to test these games, including the really disgusting ones, for Switch 2 compatibility. lol

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Pokémon Pokopia?

Yosher

@Shepdawg1 Well right now it's also because I had an event in life where money is tighter for me at the moment yeah, so I do have to choose my purchases more carefully. And GKC releases are definitely not in that budget.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Pokémon 30th Anniversary Edition

Yosher

I didn't care for (Ultra)Sun and (Ultra)Moon as games much, but their box arts are cool for being connected when you put them side by side, so they get points for that.

I still gotta go with nostalgia though, either gen 1 or 2 are my pick, and that's a tough call. I think I'll go with gen 1 for being the only ones that didn't opt for legendary box arts.

Re: Pokémon Winds & Waves Announced For Switch 2, Launching Next Year

Yosher

This.... actually looks kind of good?? I'm being cautious for now but these actually look decent, and that makes me very happy right now. If they treat these right they might win me back over as a fan. Please let it be so, I don't want to have to be negative over Pokémon anymore, I want to be able to praise them again and look forward to them again. 🙏 But most of all I want them to treat this series like it deserves, which it is looking like they are now, going off the first impression.

Bravo, Pokémon! 👏

Re: He-Man's Arcade-Style Retro Brawler Locks In A Release Date For Switch

Yosher

I'm one of the (unfortunate?) few who can only think of that one video with 4 Non Blondes music What's Going On, but He Man, when seeing anything He Man.

I don't think I've ever seen the He Man cartoon itself or anything but that video alone makes me want to give it a try sometime, and in turn makes me interested in this game as well.

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?

Yosher

I have a soft spot for the 3DS XL for giving me a Yoshi themed system, and the New 3DS for having interchangeable face plates. Those were the best in my opinion. But they were all grand, I do kinda miss the 3DS, looking back. I should play it again!

It feels a little weird now, no longer having Game Boy and no longer having DS as relevant household names.

Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Are Already "Best Sellers" On The Switch eShop Charts

Yosher

As expected. It's Pokémon. They can do whatever they want and people will pull out their wallets regardless of how stanky a practice it is.

Of course, the games themselves are still really fun, so I can't even blame people. I'm probably going to buy one of these myself soonish, because a few relatives are going to as well, and we'll be playing together.

They have such an iron grip on their fanbase it's unreal.

Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch

Yosher

There is literally no reason for these to be priced this high. They're like double the price of Virtual Console GBA games. Greedy Pokémon company strikes again.

And if you use the HOME compatibility as an excuse, you're already paying for that privilege with the HOME subscription.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Mario Tennis Fever For Switch 2?

Yosher

Not for a while probably. Adventure mode and single player content in general is pretty bare bones again, and I barely played Aces either. If I want to play tennis I have other options, including just booting up Aces which largely plays the same, and Fever even reuses animations from Aces from what I've seen. I'll probably get Fever if I ever find it cheap enough. There are no in-game events here that will have you miss out on content like happened in Aces either as far as I know. (But if there is, all the more reason for me to just never pick it up once I missed some content.)

It's funny though how the simple inclusion of baby Yoshi instead of baby Waluigi would have been enough to get me to buy it. For some reason they always skip the one baby character that makes the most sense. Not that much in Mario games makes sense to begin with, especially in spin-offs, but you know.
