Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Yoshi Touch & Go

Yosher

Europe and it's really not even close. The Japanese background is too boring.

I actually quite enjoyed this game, by the way. I know it's just a glorified tech demo but the gameplay loop was fun for me and I enjoyed seeing how far I could go.

Re: Anniversary: Celebrate Unova As Pokémon Black & White Turns 15

Yosher

As far as I'm concerned, gen 5 was the last truly good generation. I loved Black & White a ton, same with Black 2 and White 2.

If they're remade, they most likely will be butchered with new mechanics anyway, even moreso if they're handled the same way as the Diamond and Pearl remakes. So I don't really care if they're remade or not. I'll stick with the old versions anyway. Still some of the best Pokémon games.

Re: Opinion: NSO Subscribers Outside Key Markets Get Less, And Nintendo Should Fix That

Yosher

It is frustrating, but I don't think Nintendo is really doing it on purpose necessarily. Ryu_Niiyama explained it well better than I could, really.

Of course, they can still do better. For me personally, a big gripe I have is that for pre-orders, including that from NSO exclusive stuff, they require a credit card for payment. I don't want to get a credit card, so I'm locked out of pre-orders for this reason. Otherwise I have access to pretty much everything I think (aside from region exclusive rewards and certain smartphone games due to gambling policies in my country), so I personally can't complain.

All I can say is that I hope everyone is able to get everything they want before too long.

Re: Nintendo Highlights Super Mario's Game History In 40th Anniversary Timeline

Yosher

Adding to the discussion on Super Mario World 2.. It's really weird to me seeing Yoshi's Island not being on this list. Considering they announced a new Yoshi game for the anniversary. That new game seems to have very little to do with Mario himself, whereas that original Yoshi's Island had baby Mario in it, so that one had more of a connection. Just feels off to me.

Re: Review: JSAUX EnergyFlow Joy-Con Charging Dock For Switch 2 - A Colourful Option If You've Got A Two Pair

Yosher

Yeah I'm not going to get a second pair of joy-con unless they make special edition ones I really want. They burned me too much on the drifting Switch 1 joy-cons. So this thing is lost on me.

Though I think even if I do get a second pair I still won't get this, I'll just attach one set to the system and when the disconnected ones run out of charge, I'll stap 'em around. Been doing that with Switch 1 and that works just fine for me.

I guess it looks pretty, though.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A And Pokémon HOME Connectivity Scheduled For 2026

Yosher

That's okay, I decided to cancel my Legends pre-order anyway due to the sour taste that DLC announcement left me with. I feel like I'm now fully done with the main games of this series. I'll stick with potentially fun spin-off games and the past main entries that I do enjoy from here on out. They absolutely lost me now.

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Yosher

Overall, this Direct left me feeling pretty mixed. There wasn't a ton that interested me, but that Yoshi announcement absolutely made this Direct for me.

NEW things that were shown that I'm absolutely gonna buy:
Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 pack
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (♥♥♥)
Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition
Mario Tennis Fever
Stardew Valley Switch 2 update (I mean, it's free)
All the amiibo
I guess the Mario Galaxy movie also counts kind of

Things we already knew that I'm gonna buy:
Kirby Air Riders
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Games I'll certainly pick up later:
Hades II
Suika Game Planet
Fire Emblem
Popucom

Games that are (probably) gonna be a game key card that I would have gotten if they weren't:
Final Fantasy 7
Resident Evil 7
Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil 9

Games I might pick up sometime, depending:
Storm Launchers
Pokémon Pokopia
DK Bananza DLC (still need DK first sometime down the line)

Aside from that, the only reason I'm still getting Legends ZA is because I already pre-ordered it, otherwise I would have just not bothered anymore. The DLC really pushed down any hype I had for this game.

I gave the Direct a 7, and 2 points of that is solely Yoshi's game. Nintendo's greed and dumb decisions made this Direct worse than it could have been, but that one announcement left me walking away more than happy at least!

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced For Super Mario's 40th Anniversary

Yosher

You already know my vote. Yoshi looks so good. Though I hope they deliver, since Crafted World, while still good, wasn't up to standard to what Yoshi games can be. This one looks promising though.

Also miiildly disappointed that the new Mario amiibo isn't Mario riding Yoshi, to tie in with both Galaxy games. Gonna get them regardless, though.

Honestly though, overall, so far I'm a little bit underwhelmed by the 40th Mario anniversary announcements. I would've expected a little more. Still happy with what was shown for it though. Well, aside from the museum and marathon things. I don't live in Japan and don't plan to go there for a while yet, so those things are lost on me.

Re: A Brand New Yoshi Adventure Is Heading To The Switch 2

Yosher

BEST GAME OF THE DIRECT NO BIAS AT ALL NO SIRREE BEST GAME HERE

ahem

I am very much looking forward to this game, if you couldn't tell. It looks so adorable! The artstyle is so good! I'll admit i was hoping to finally have that 3D Yoshi game but I'm happy to get a new Yoshi game at all.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Announces Version 1.7 Update

Yosher

@Daniel36 @Picola-Wicola I was like that at first too. I hate time limits like that in video games usually. This game was no different. I tried it once and then put it down for a long time.

Eventually I gave it another go, and tried to push through. I learned to manage with the time limit system, and I had more fun with it. The idea is that you'll make things easier on yourself as you go (like automating the crop watering process), so that you'll have more time for other things more and more. I never grew to love the time limit thing, but it did become just another aspect of the game for me to the point where it no longer really bothered me. Not nearly as much, anyway.

I'm not telling you to give the game another try, but it isn't impossible to get accustomed to the time limit and really start to enjoy the game for what it is, even if at first that time limit didn't click with you. Same with the stamina thing, for that matter, which also bothered me at first. But you can upgrade that later in the game, so that that part at least becomes a lot more manageable.

I do have to admit I don't quite understand the hype this game often gets either, but it's still a really fun game. I hope that if you guys give it another try one day, you'll learn to deal with the time limit like I did and manage to actually enjoy the game! If not, well, there's still plenty of other games to play, both in and out of this genre.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6

Yosher

I hope they make it hard on Nintendo so that both parties will stay on top of their game, so that us consumers can get the best end products as possible, for the best gaming experiences we can possibly get, on the best possible platforms they can give us.

Either way, I probably won't get the PS6, but I do wonder what it will be like.
