Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Mario Tennis Fever For Switch 2?

Yosher

Not for a while probably. Adventure mode and single player content in general is pretty bare bones again, and I barely played Aces either. If I want to play tennis I have other options, including just booting up Aces which largely plays the same, and Fever even reuses animations from Aces from what I've seen. I'll probably get Fever if I ever find it cheap enough. There are no in-game events here that will have you miss out on content like happened in Aces either as far as I know. (But if there is, all the more reason for me to just never pick it up once I missed some content.)

It's funny though how the simple inclusion of baby Yoshi instead of baby Waluigi would have been enough to get me to buy it. For some reason they always skip the one baby character that makes the most sense. Not that much in Mario games makes sense to begin with, especially in spin-offs, but you know.

Re: Oblivion, Skyrim And Fallout Switch 2 Physicals Will All Be Code-In-A-Box, Bethesda Confirms

Yosher

@jsty3105 I've already given my reasoning, but code in a box is like only mildly better than game key card to me anyway and I would still highly prefer not to get a code in a box game either. I'll only get it if there is a really good deal on one, like less than 10 bucks. Game key cards are just a straight up no, regardless of pricing.

I'll give my reasoning again: code on a box at least comes with all the benefits of a true digital game, and can be found cheaper than on the eshop sometimes. Plus you get a spare box for an actual boxed game.

Game key cards comes with the inconvenience of both physical and digital, in that you need to insert your cartridge AND download the (often hefty) game onto your system. The only benefit game key cards have is that you can lend or sell them, which doesn't really apply to me since I rarely to never do those things with my games. And when I do lend out a game, it's only to those in my current NSO family group anyway, so I can just lend out the digital game that way too with the virtual game cards.

Tl;dr: both key cards and code in a box games suck but I have a slight preference for code in a box, and a HEAVY preference for proper physical games.

Re: Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok Soars Onto Switch 2 In July

Yosher

Unrelated rant, but female character designs with a peek window through their clothing on their... chest area will never not annoy me. Like it's way way too painfully obvious that's there to attract certain people.

Outside of that though, the game looks alright, if a little on the generic JRPG side. Not that I'll get it of course, because, you know. But if it ever gets cheap enough on the eShop I may consider it.

Re: Oblivion, Skyrim And Fallout Switch 2 Physicals Will All Be Code-In-A-Box, Bethesda Confirms

Yosher

@larryisaman That would legit make me more interested in getting key cards. It's still not the solution I'd want as it doesn't address the biggest issue I have with them (namely all the storage they require on your system), but it would be so much better already just from that alone.

I say, make game key card games force an internet requirement to be able to be played without the cartridge, but you can do that at any time. If there is no internet connection, the cartridge is required. That plus only the occasional check you mentioned would be a great way to improve game key cards.

Re: Oblivion, Skyrim And Fallout Switch 2 Physicals Will All Be Code-In-A-Box, Bethesda Confirms

Yosher

I prefer code-in-a-box games to key card games, but only slightly. I rarely lend out my games, I even more rarely sell my games, so those points are near useless selling points for me anyway. With code-in-a-box, you'll at least get the proper benefit of a digital purchase in that you don't need to insert a cartridge to play. And I see the box it comes with as a spare box for another, actual physical game, may something happen to its box somehow. Or when buying a used game that is only the cartridge.

That said, code-in-a-box games need to be SEVERELY discounted for me to even consider buying them. But at least the consideration is there. With key cards, it's just a straight up no.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase February 2026: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Yosher

There has to have been a Nintendo Direct for me to rate it. This was a Key Card Direct. No vote from me.

That said, there are some titles here I would get, if they would release in a normal format. Resident Evil, Elliot, FFVII, Pragmata, and Tales of Arise are prime examples.

Oh well. This key card trash* is out of the way, now we can hopefully focus on the real meat and potatoes!

*Feel free to ignore my dumb opinions. I know a lot of people are excited, and I'm happy for y'all, at least.

Re: It's Official, The Switch Is Nintendo's Best-Selling Console Of All Time

Yosher

I do wonder if it will actually manage to beat the PS2 in sales, now that the Switch 2 is out. If the Switch 2 wasn't out yet, it would have been just a matter of time, but now it's not so certain anymore.

Not that I really care that much. Switch becoming the best selling system won't really make the games on it more (or less) fun. But it's fun trivia stuff I suppose!

Re: Talking Point: Where's Your Nintendo Labo Now?

Yosher

I purchased one of the sets when I happened to find it for really cheap, but I never actually played it. I just never really cared much about it.

No it wasn't the VR set, but I don't remember what it was, and I'm too lazy to go check right now.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations

Yosher

It's the only one of the three big mascot racers I didn't get. And honestly, it's because the previous Sonic racing games didn't do much for me either, and Sega games in general tend to feel "messy" in a way. It's pretty rare for me to buy their games really. Plus the other two just gave me my fill of racing games so there was, and still is, no real need for me to get this game anytime soon.

Re: Poll: What Nintendo Switch 2 Games Are You Most Excited For In 2026?

Yosher

It's really only Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and Splatoon Raiders right now.

Mario Tennis Fever WOULD have been on the list of it weren't for the previous couple entries being disappointing to me (and other recent Mario spin offs not doing much to keep me interested either).

Resident Evil games, The Duskbloods, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (and Remake), and Elden Ring WOULD have been on the list, if it weren't for them being released on you know what.

I'm gonna save a lot of money this way though!

@Hero-of-WiiU Tomodachi is a Switch 1 title, this is for Switch 2 only.

Re: Splatoon 3 Ver. 11.0.0 Update Launches This Week, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Yosher

@squiddu-real Maxz does say "with a bit of luck", and that's just the thing. If they already have the aura flow going, they'll be harder to catch for you because they'll be buffed, and if you lose the interaction again, their buff time will increase. Rinse and repeat, you'll continuously be at a disadvantage because the opponent will be buffed while you'll be continuously punished with more down time and being unable to build your special because they keep killing you.

This has been an issue enough even without the aura flow, and the aura flow is just going to make it worse. Of course not every match will go down the gutter like that, and in fact you'll get matches that will be the opposite end for you. But I've had plenty matches where the opponents just curbstomp my team with little to no chance to turn things around, and this is going to reward that kind of aggressiveness. Not to mention unsportsman like behavior like spawn camping is going to be rewarded with "aura farming".

Maybe you are right and things won't be a bad, but as it is I really don't see how this will not end in a disaster for people who already have trouble getting kills.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island

Yosher

I love them both a lot, and it's very hard for me to choose here. But I went with Japan, for a few simple reasons: that logo is also used in the Japanese title screen, I like the way they put some text around Yoshi's snout and tongue, and I like the small detail of the little Huffin Puffins in the bottom left corner. And it has more Yoshi for your buck on the cover, hah.

The western version is still really iconic and sets a very good stage though, so it only barely loses for me over the Japanese one.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2 Upgrade For Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Yosher

I'm.... actually not sure now. It doesn't really seem worth 20 bucks to me. None of the Switch 2 upgrades really seem very worth their money to me. And the way Nintendo puts them on store shelves for an inflated price rather than pricing down the original so the Switch 2 version can be the regular price, like other companies usually do things when releasing a new version of an old game, rubs me the wrong way too.

The content on display does look fun though, and I'm sure I'd have fun with it if I were to get it. But I find it hard to justify.

I liked Nintendo better when Mario was in charge rather than Wario. They're due for their own 6 golden coins arc.
