Petey and Kamek getting added are huge! Some absolute fan favorites, there. Really wish we could have seen more courses and a release date, but this probably means we'll get another trailer in early-mid July.
Yep, those rumors of the games being announced are looking very likely now. New 2D Mario and SNES remake are pretty likely to be locked in. Really excited to see what's announced as the June Directs are usually the really big ones.
Awesome. I might actually check this game out now that the microtransactions are gone. I remember enjoying the demo a year ago so there’s definitely the makings of a good game here. It’s too bad that it took Squeenix this long to remove what was easily the worst part of the game, though.
I'm about 75 hours in and I'm getting pretty close to finishing, I think. I still have yet to do the Gerudo quest, but other than that I've been wrapping up lots of sidequests and shrines.
I kinda doubt a sequel would happen just because it seems like Takumi is satisfied with how the first game concluded. Would definitely be down to see some sort of successor or similar game in the future, though.
I’m not sure if I’ll try the demo because I’ve already preordered the game and am currently finishing up a few other titles. But it’s great that it’s there for people who might still be on the fence about purchasing
That is actually insane. I'm very impressed that people are able to discover these things, and now I look forward to seeing what kind of music people are going to make with it, apart from MEGALOVANIA which is definitely the most obvious first choice.
I think this is a completely fair viewpoint to have. I prefer TOTK's busier and content-filled world since there's simply just more to do, but BOTW certainly has a special kind of serenity to it. I have definitely felt overwhelmed playing TOTK and getting distracted by everything, but I like that feeling here. BOTW could definitely be seen as a much more relaxed experience in comparison.
Goodness, Hello Games has been really busy with this game. From Interceptor to a MacOS port, to now this. Very impressed with how hard they've been working on it!
This all but confirms that we're not getting a June Direct. If we were getting one this month then they definitely could have held off on this trailer, along with Everybody 1 + 2 Switch announcement.
I still have yet to play this game in any form. It's pretty much at the top of my gaming bucket list though since I've heard nearly nothing but praise for both the original and the remake. Will probably pick up the remake at some point this year.
We're definitely getting Zelda and Ganondorf amiibo at some point. Strange that Nintendo left the files for them in the game before they got released, though. They could have been facing supply issues and delays, I suppose.
The Gloom Hands were definitely the most surprising and slightly scary moment for me, but other than that I haven’t found much to be very scary. Most of it just has a darker theme or atmosphere
@Kerberos Nintendo has said that they’ll be supporting this game with updates for 2 years, so this year’s Fall update will mark 1 year of support. We’ve definitely got more major updates on the way.
These are some great updates overall! Only disappointment by the lack of notable buffs/ nerfs, and no changes to Reefslider. But the QoL changes are great, and the balancing we did get is good overall. Hopefully the midseason update will contain more main weapon changes, though. Really looking forward to the new music and Salmon Run stage in particular!
I wasn’t interested in duplicating items since it messes up the intended balance of the game. Plus, I’m sure at some point in the future we’ll discover another way to duplicate items.
I love both types of dungeons, classic and modern. Majora’s Mask’s in particular are standouts for me. I think the layout of the dungeons in BOTW were good, but overall they were held back by boring theming and forgettable bosses. The dungeons I’ve played in TOTK so far have been dramatically better, even though they’ve mostly kept a similar format. The addition of multiple floor levels definitely helps, along with more diverse theming and really fun bosses.
And like the article brought out, I think the modern format fits the non-linear nature of the games. If Nintendo ever makes another linear Zelda game again, which I’m sure they will, I’d fully expect them to bring back linear dungeons to accompany that style of game.
I’ll be updating my game since I haven’t done the duplication glitch, nor do I plan to. I’d rather just play the way it’s intended to, and not massively disrupt the balance of the game. I’ve been having a blast progressing at a somewhat slower pace.
Would definitely be interested in this if there weren’t any microtransactions. But they seem intent on keeping them and lots of them are linked to progressing through the game from what I’ve heard.
It has so much potential… but 2K’s gotta 2K I guess
I dunno, even at its lowest framerates, it really doesn't bother me too much. Any significant drops only last for a few seconds and very rarely impact what I'm trying to do. A locked 30 would certainly be ideal, but for me, it really isn't much of an issue in the grand scheme of things.
I am going to collect everything. All koroks, all collectibles, all side quests, everything completed. We probably aren’t going to be getting another mainline Zelda title for several years, so I’m definitely in no hurry to finish this one.
...Why? This game got pretty middling reviews across the board. Pretty much the only thing it had going for it was its graphics, which are definitely going to take a major hit on the Switch.
That stinks to hear. Nagamatsu was easily one of my favorite composers working for Nintendo. But hopefully he goes on to create music for other studios!
Probably Revali. I think his character is probably the most interesting of the bunch, and also his theme is fantastic. And let us not forget about Revali's Gale, which is far and away the most useful Champion power.
I played this one on PC a few months ago, and it was pretty cool! It’s really short and the controls were a bit clunky for me, but it’s super atmospheric and has a pretty unique concept. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a short, interesting platformer.
So is Gamescom similar to Games Expos? Mostly just demos/ presentations for games that have already come out? Or is it more for newer announcements and unreleased games?
I’d probably give it an 8 so far. The gameplay is great but I’m really not feeling the voice acting, and the performance in cutscenes is really shaky, along with the camera stuttering very noticeably. Pretty surprised they didn’t fix these issues considering both of the delays it got
So… Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, is this similar to Jet Set Radio? Because I remember seeing that video that leaked a couple weeks ago that showed off JSR. Just curious if this is the same series, same publisher, similar gameplay… any of that?
@rushiosan How exactly are the GBA versions superior, other than maybe the art style? From what it looks like, there are a lot of great QoL improvements and new features all around.
@NCChris Yes, he does use mods from time to time. But some of his videos have absolutely zero mods used, and they're also being struck. This likely means that Nintendo isn't even watching some of these videos before striking them.
@Anti-Matter The exact opposite is true. Modding is showing the utmost respect for the creators of the original game. It's done by people who love the original game and want to add their own ideas to it, driven by their passion for it. It's not an issue of ego, it's an issue of restricting the player's creativity. If people purchase a game, they have a right to do with it whatever they want, obviously outside of reselling or copying code, which these mods have never done. There is no reason for Nintendo to attack these people outside of their outdated policies and ideals.

Re: Jam Out To Splatoon 3's Jazzy New Battle Song Before Sizzle Season Kicks Off
Yeah, this is an awesome song! Gives me pretty big Splatoon 2 Ink Theory vibes, which this game could definitely use more of.

That’s not surprising. I’m pretty impressed they got as far as they did with it, opening a page on Steam and everything.

One of the easiest 10s I have ever given. I cannot belive how purely fun this game is.
