Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

I think this is a completely fair viewpoint to have. I prefer TOTK's busier and content-filled world since there's simply just more to do, but BOTW certainly has a special kind of serenity to it. I have definitely felt overwhelmed playing TOTK and getting distracted by everything, but I like that feeling here. BOTW could definitely be seen as a much more relaxed experience in comparison.

These are some great updates overall! Only disappointment by the lack of notable buffs/ nerfs, and no changes to Reefslider. But the QoL changes are great, and the balancing we did get is good overall. Hopefully the midseason update will contain more main weapon changes, though. Really looking forward to the new music and Salmon Run stage in particular!

Re: Soapbox: Modern Zelda Dungeons Are, In Fact, Divine

I love both types of dungeons, classic and modern. Majora’s Mask’s in particular are standouts for me. I think the layout of the dungeons in BOTW were good, but overall they were held back by boring theming and forgettable bosses. The dungeons I’ve played in TOTK so far have been dramatically better, even though they’ve mostly kept a similar format. The addition of multiple floor levels definitely helps, along with more diverse theming and really fun bosses.

And like the article brought out, I think the modern format fits the non-linear nature of the games. If Nintendo ever makes another linear Zelda game again, which I’m sure they will, I’d fully expect them to bring back linear dungeons to accompany that style of game.

Would definitely be interested in this if there weren’t any microtransactions. But they seem intent on keeping them and lots of them are linked to progressing through the game from what I’ve heard.

It has so much potential… but 2K’s gotta 2K I guess

Re: Nintendo Allegedly Targets Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod In Latest YouTube Takedowns

@Anti-Matter The exact opposite is true. Modding is showing the utmost respect for the creators of the original game. It's done by people who love the original game and want to add their own ideas to it, driven by their passion for it. It's not an issue of ego, it's an issue of restricting the player's creativity. If people purchase a game, they have a right to do with it whatever they want, obviously outside of reselling or copying code, which these mods have never done. There is no reason for Nintendo to attack these people outside of their outdated policies and ideals.
