The closeout bonus bump is nice. I pretty much completely dropped Splatoon 3 this entire season, but next season is looking amazing so far. Definitely planning on picking it back up
I thought it was great. Outer Wilds and Braid are great to finally get on the system, and Blade Chimera looks absolutely fantastic. Definitely the most invested I've been in an Indie showcase in a long time.
Rainbow Road, DK Mountain, and Rosalina's Ice World all look fantastic! Interested to try out Piranha Plant Cove as well. This looks like a pretty strong wave to end things off on.
I know it’s a bit less-loved but I really enjoyed Sports Mix on the Wii. Pretty underrated if you ask me, it’s definitely not the best Mario sports game but I had a lot of fun with it when I was younger. Basketball and Dodgeball in particular were a lot of fun. The story mode was also really addicting to play through
Carpetless is one of the most revolutionary techniques found in this game in years. It’s been fascinating to follow, there’s pretty much been a world record every other day
The Mahi-Mahi changes are fantastic. The map feels twice as large now. It still unfortunately doesn't resemble it's layout in 1, but it's a huge improvement.
Jokes aside, love that he’s still supporting Stardew Valley after all these years, especially considering the fact that he’s working on an entirely new game!
Wasn’t bad. Easily the most disappointing part was the Mario vs. DK remake. Was really hoping for a new DK game. The fact that it’s $50 USD doesn’t help either. Other than that, though, it was pretty good. Side Order, Princess Peach Showtime, MK8 DLC, and TTYD were all super exciting
I think more offline singleplayer content would be great personally. Being able to play matches against bots, stage creators, weapon kit customization, all that would be nice for when you’re not able to play online.
Denuvo continues to be one of the most hated gaming software companies around, and this action only compounds that viewpoint. Really hope major titles choose not to use this program.
@Anti-Matter What are you talking about? “Better Mario personality”? Martinet is Mario’s personality. Anyone who replicates his voice will surely be good, but it’ll be nearly impossible to deliver as much energy and enthusiasm as he ever did.
I sold my Wii once I got a Wii U, at the time not aware of the fact that the Wii was compatible with Gamecube games and the Wii U wasn’t. So that was a mistake on my part. But I have since then gotten another Wii, fortunately.
That would be an amazing collectible to have! As for the question at the bottom, my favorite OST is between 2 and 3. I really can’t pick between them as they both do different styles extremely well. XC2 is a straight up banger of a soundtrack through and through, but XC3’s is a lot more emotional and feels more cinematic in ways. But you can’t go wrong either way
The last time Metroid was a launch title for a console, it became the bestselling game in the franchise. I would love to see them try it again, and I'm absolutely positive that's what they're planning for Prime 4.
Yeah, I read their blog post earlier and it definitely makes sense why they’re abandoning it. Even if they reverse-engineered everything and had absolutely no copyrighted code, even things that were made for the general public, it would still likely be taken down. That’s just how Nintendo is and this is unfortunately just another example of how stubborn they are when it comes to situations like this.
Super excited for this game! I just beat the Pikmin 1 + 2 bundle and loved both games. I’m going to be playing 3 Deluxe pretty soon here, and from there I’ll definitely be picking up 4. I really did not expect to get as hooked on this series as I am now. One of Nintendo’s best if you ask me.
This was probably my favorite moment of the entire game, besides maybe the final boss sequence. It was such an awesome scene, from the music, to the story implications, and just the way you go about finding it, too.
@brandonbwii Yeah I generally abide by the rule of “Gameplay first, everything else comes after”, but there are definitely cases where that rule doesn’t apply, for me at least. For example, the Ace Attorney series as a whole has very, very simple gameplay. But things like the story, music, and characters carry it so hard, so the point where I consider a few games in the series to be 9/10 and 10/10s.
Gameplay is certainly important, and if the gameplay is actively bad, that’s absolutely a strike against the game as a whole. But if simple gameplay is alongside some other phenomenal elements, I’m usually willing to overlook the simplicity.
@Mattock1987 Gameplay isn't everything, you know. There are many other factors to take into consideration. From what I've heard, the game's story, presentation, and characters are top-notch. If that stuff is nailed here, simpler gameplay really shouldn't be much of a concern.
They were about a month and a half too late to get more collectors editions in stock. Definitely would have gotten one before the game’s release, but I don’t have an interest in it now. Thanks for the update, though, I’m sure some people are still keeping their eye out for it
Oh man, I am really excited for this one. Can't wait to try out the demo this week.
On a different note, was performance pretty solid overall? The graphics look beautiful, but I'm curious how it performs on the Switch, especially since it's in UE and not Nintendo's in-house engine.
I bought the collection yesterday on impulse. I've only played a bit of Pikmin 1 and never played 2. But I am LOVING 1 so far, I'm already at the final area and only on day 23. But I had to dedicate an extra day to growing more Pikmin, as the final boss wiped out most of mine on the first attempt.
For that reason, the price is worth it for me. It's maybe a bit steep for 2 pretty old and short games, but this collection has officially gotten me invested in the series now.
MGSV would actually work really well on the Switch. It's a fantastic-looking game, but it's actually pretty old. So it's not out of the realm of possibility for it to come to the Switch.
I mean, it's definitely still 2D Mario, like how the NSMB games were. But the style is almost completely revamped. This is probably the farthest they could deviate from the "New" style other than going back to pixel art.
That’s interesting that nothing else was changed. Wouldn’t the Home logo conflict with the box art and title screen, then? Not a big deal or anything, just curious

Re: Unity To Charge Developers A Fee Each Time A Game Is Installed Next Year
What??? What is even the thought process behind a change like this? Guaranteed Unreal and GM Studio are going to become the standards.

Been playing as Blue Toad ever since NSMBWii. So glad they kept my boy in for this game!

@Yalloo These are actual people singing, but with a ton of filters placed over their voices, and done in the in-universe language.

@Waluigi451 I've seen anywhere from 8's to 9's to 10's, 4 stars to 5 stars. Pretty darn positive from everywhere I've looked so far.
