Honestly if they had it as 1 cartridge with all songs and had a headphone jack then It would be a bit more interesting for me to pick up but for what it is it is far too bulky.
I was interested in buying both of them but the problem is that they won't let me pre-order both in the same order and since postage is €7 for each order I was already ehhh on getting both on one order but having to do 2 separate orders for additional €7 that killed it for me.
EDIT: Hmmm they must have updated it since then to allow you to preorder both in the same order.
@JumpingJackson Based on looking things up the Switch 1 technology was 2 years old when it released but the switch 2 technology is around 3 or 4 years old so it is in a rougher situation technology wise long term then the switch 1.
I hate GKC but these are worse. I got my first GKC yesterday because I saw DQ 1+2 for switch 2 in a clearance box in smyths for €15 and at that price I said why not.
I am still curious on the game but I don't think I will get it right away. Not saying the devs can't pull it off but they have only really made Hitman and Kane and Lynch with the latter being just ok.
That is great for the people who will be playing the game on their switch 2. even if you are playing it with a controller (which is supposed to be really good but I only play with KB&M) but have a KB plugged in for chat. It will massively help.
@Pak-Man Ya it does take time and that is the major problem with the game. As more expansions get added the earlier part of the game suffers more as they are trying to avoid burn out and alot of jobs rotation changes completely as you level.
They need to really work on the early game for new players and focus more on having I say about 80% of your rotation when you reach 50 and anything after that just is added.
Overall I would have seen the switch 2 version more of a companion version for people who have the other version to do less demanding tasks in the game. Like gathering or at most anything in the duty roulette.
The biggest reason for not playing it is the added sub cost. I am fine with having to rebuy the game and expansions but to pay more monthly to be able to play on switch 2 is a no for me.
@Highlar75 Correct. You have to pay for the game and expansions on the switch (you should get another 30 days ontop of that) plus pay an extra 50% on your sub to have it on both systems.
@tourjeff Overall the lore part is minimal and there are small references to the older games but nothing that will impact the story. The only downside is that if you play the older games (3 and New Vegas) you will feel the clunklyness of them compared to 4.
If you want a shooter with light rpg elements then 4 is the best of the 3 but if you are looking for an RPG game with shooter elements then 4 is the weakest of the 3.
Ok this was one of my concerns with these ports. I am glad that it is being addressed. Not sure if I will get them just yet but atleast the option for me to get them are there now.
Them not releasing a physical release is the reason I won't be getting them. I already have both of them physical and if Home is not supported then they are worse then the original version but at the very least there is now a legal way to own these game digital.
I have been debating if I should buy a pair or not but the thing is any nintendo game I want I want physical but the only digital game I want is the Famicom Detective Club collection. So it is really just a waste of €40 for me.
I picked up a 512gb one as I will be mostly going physical for my games and I won't be getting many third party games so that size should be fine for me (I hope)
Surprised at this but I say I will skipping it until it is heavily on sale as I am getting the tales games on PC and since I already own it on PC there is no point getting the remaster at launch.
So far I am impressed with the looks so far. Atleast they have that going so far. But how will they preform and how solid is the script is the next thing.
For me really I haven't played NH in a long time but even if I was the upgrade pack isn't really worth it for me. Not saying it isn't good or worth the price because it is.
For me it has to be in cutscenes. I don't mind not having VA for the NPCs that you walk up too to chat with or venders/poke centre. Sidequest are a maybe, I can give or take on those.
While I like both and do prefer the full art of the JP one but the US/EU one tells you what the game is about on the front cover without having to turn the case around.
very 50/50 for me but I would say the JP one for me. I originally voted for the US/EU because of what I said above but once you know what type of game it is then the JP one shines out more.
Lucky I started saving my hourglass (should have 240 by next week) and I have something line 240 gold so not sure if I will pull on these yet. Depends on the pull rate and if it is a limited time event then I say I will use them all.
Look I am fine with them locking the system to the most expensive version. I would also be fine if you have to get the peripheral to take advantage of the VB gimmick.
But locking it so you have to have either of the peripherals to play them is a bad idea. Since the system was a flop and only had less then 20 games. If the system was a success and had released over 100 games. It would still be a bad idea to do this but atleast there would be some justification to get the peripheral on a very thin line.
Nintendo should really just really modify the games (or emulator) so that they are playable in 2D and have the peripheral to play it in 3D
My first reaction was "HA". Honestly none of them are in touch with the fans but sure Nintendo may be the best of the three but there really nothing in the difference between the 3.
I was really looking forward to this collection because of THPS4 as that is when I started the series. I never played 1 - 3 so I don't have any preference to those titles.
My plan was to play 4 again and then play 3 to see what the 2 minute timer gameplay is like an if I did like it I would have picked up 1+2 also.
But now that 4 isn't 4 anymore I don't see myself pick this game up unless some modders come along and revert the changes back on PC to how they were on the PS2 when I played it is when I might pick it up when it is heavily discounted.
@sethfranum Sure the EULA states that but if this goes into effect then this will override what the EULA says.
@Ryu_Niiyama With anthems case it won't be effected. The reasons for that this petition is not expecting companies to retroactively these end of life plans to games. It will be for games going forward if this does go into effect and even then I would expect that if it does pass that they would have a clause that any game released after X date (maybe 2 years gase preiod) must have end of life plans included in their games. That way games that are in active development will have time to implement these.
@Oldstalk The lobby group missed the point on that. The Petition is not asking for games to run indefinitely by the game companies.
It is asking game companies to add an end of life plan to games when they want to stop supporting the game so that the paying customers can add the ability to have private servers to the game so the game can live on through the players rather then the company.
@sethfranum The games don't have to be always online. What the Petition is saying is for those Online only games to have an end of life plan in place so that when they game companies don't want to support then they need to implement a system that gives players the ability to play it offline or give them the ability for players to create private servers for the game. That way the game can live on.
If they do that then it is up to players if they want to continue to give the life to the game with those private servers or not. If this goes into effect and game companies do these implementations then they are in the clear.
Some games have done this already. One example is "The Avengers" game. They added P2P support to the game and made the game offline instead of online only and gave all the microtransations skins out to players for free (this is optional with the skins and companies don't have to do this). This is the perfect example of what the Petition wants companies to do.
Not played it yet as I just got my system Thursday and only finished doing the downloads of games and updates I have for the system yesterday. Will jump onto to it later tonight.
I would say they should give us an option but when an update does come out maybe have an notification when loading the app to say you can have all new games added or turn off the feature and add the games individually to save space.
TBH it never crossed my mind really with the banning of consoles and then getting it second hand. I could have landed myself in this situation as I don't have the switch 2 yet.
@nin10doom Yep. While I don't have the switch 2 yet and I already have Cyberpunk on PC (and to some extent steam deck). I may pick it up also just to have it physical as well as Mario Kart world. The zelda titles are expection as I have those physical already on the switch one and getting the switch 2 update is a bit different then having to rebuy them physical with the switch 2 version.
@Yosher Spot on. This is why I hate them. Yes codes in the box were bad (and I really hated them also) at the very least they were a digital product.
These are also worse then the card having only part of the game on the cart and you have to download the rest. Atleast with those there is some data on the cart to save you space unlike these.
@Yokaisou For me I will have to go for the Switch version then buy the upgrade later. Reason is that the only shop that sells games near me is selling Legends for €60.
Now they don't have the switch 2 version up but knowing them they will be selling it for €80 as that is what they are selling all the other switch 2 games that have the switch 1 cartridge with the upgrade code. The upgrade code shouldn't cost €20 and even if they do I will still have a cleaner looking box cover compared to the switch 2 one.

@Sirko That is how I felt. I was excited to get it till I found out it was a pvp game and that lost all interest in the game for me.
Re: Video: The Great Physical Vs. Digital Switch 2 Debate
I will always go Physical if I can but I am not against digital also as the sales can be fantastic at times.
Both are great when both can be an option but when only 1 is an option that is when it becomes bad.
Re: Nintendo's President Apparently Wants Switch 2 To Match The Long Lifespan Of The Original System
@DominionGamma You do know Physical media is very important right. If games get delisted and never got a physical release then you are out of luck.
Both are always good to have but if you are wishing one goes away then you are a very selfish person and no better then the Nintendo fans complaining.
