Re: Rumour: Final Fantasy Devs Supposedly Hint At Another Nintendo Release

SilentHunter382

@nin10doom Yep. While I don't have the switch 2 yet and I already have Cyberpunk on PC (and to some extent steam deck). I may pick it up also just to have it physical as well as Mario Kart world. The zelda titles are expection as I have those physical already on the switch one and getting the switch 2 update is a bit different then having to rebuy them physical with the switch 2 version.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Switch 2 And Switch 1 Prices Have Been Revealed

SilentHunter382

@Yokaisou For me I will have to go for the Switch version then buy the upgrade later. Reason is that the only shop that sells games near me is selling Legends for €60.

Now they don't have the switch 2 version up but knowing them they will be selling it for €80 as that is what they are selling all the other switch 2 games that have the switch 1 cartridge with the upgrade code. The upgrade code shouldn't cost €20 and even if they do I will still have a cleaner looking box cover compared to the switch 2 one.

Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

SilentHunter382

My gaming habits have been adjusted. Not on PC but defo on consoles. I cancelled my Switch 2 pre-order and when I saw that games that are coming to switch and switch 2 I normally would get the next gen versions but since the switch 2 versions of games are just the switch 1 cart with an upgrade code in the box that has put a massive sore taste in my mouth.

And with the increase cost of both digital and physical games (more so physical for me) my excitement of the switch 2 went from high to really low very quickly. Will I get a switch 2 at some point. Ya I will but when I have no idea. maybe not in the first 2 years I think.

Re: Opinion: The Switch 2 Is A Powerhouse For The Price

SilentHunter382

I really wanted to pick up the switch 2. The price is fine but I would only be buying it for exclusives as I am a pc gamer and I also own a steam deck for portability for the I want to play on the go.

Also when it comes to console gaming in am 95% physical unless there is a game that isn't sold physical here. In the end I had to cancel my pre-order of the system. I can't justify paying €80 - €90 for physical games (and no I will not buy the games digital if I can pick it up physically for the system).

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Nintendo Switch 2 Special

SilentHunter382

Any of the switch 2 games that have the switch 1 cart in them I am just going to get them on the original switch 1 version. All that text really ruins the art of the box for me.

I was even debating going to get Kirby for the switch 2 to have a complete version of that game even though I have it already but since it will be the same version I already have but with a upgrade code there is no point.

Re: Digital Switch 2 Games Being Cheaper Than Physical Is A "Challenge", Says Retailer GAME

SilentHunter382

While I am ok with digital games being cheaper the physical. What I am not ok with is the huge jump from games costing €60 to €80 on the high end with physical being €90. That to me is just too much of a jump on the high end. I don't care if the game is worth it.

For current gen the jump to €70 was a sore taste but understandable but we are still in the current gen and it jumping to €80 for some base games.

Then there is the Game-Key cards. At that stage you might aswell go digital with those. The reason I went full physical with nintendo games (with exceptions if there are digital only) is that the full game (minus patches and dlc) is on the cart. Not an inbetween that is worse then physical as you have to download the full game and worse then digital as you have to bring a cart with you. The only good thing is that it is more physical the digital but still.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Switch 2 'Wows' Most When You Go Back To Your Old Switch

SilentHunter382

Going to be honest. I have my system on pre-order just encase but now after the hype of the reveal I am starting to think. Is it really worth getting it now or later. The only games I am really looking forward too are Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends and they are not being release till later in the year.

While Mario Kart is great it isn't a I need to play this now game for me. If I didn't already have a Gaming PC and Steam Deck then it my be a must have for me to play cyberpunk and Elden ring on the go.

I think I may cancel my pre-order and wait a year or so (though I may pick up Metroid and Pokemon physically when they released) and they could release a special edition of the system. That way I can let someone who really wants the console more at launch secure the pre-order I have in place.

Re: Random: Italian Site Lists Switch 2 Pre-Orders For Just 15€ More Than Switch OLED RRP

SilentHunter382

I just kinda hope that I can nab one this year or until the second half of next year. Work gave me a gift card as a Christmas bonus which can be used at selected stores but the stores that will sell the switch don't do pre-orders so you have to be lucky and reserve one on launch day. The card has a nice amount in it so it will make the purchase much better for me.

The reason for this is that if the card is issued over 18 months ago, money will start to be deducted from the card each month.

Re: Nintendo: Switch 2's Backwards Compatibility Feature Is The "Best Direction" For Consumers

SilentHunter382

I am glad that atleast it plays physical games. I know they said it was backwards compatible a few months back but nothing was said for physical but atleast it is confirmed.

Now I just hope the switch 2 has a performance boost. Now I hope games that didn't have a rock solid fps (like botw, totk and age of calamity). Now I would be over the moon if they got them to a solid 60 fps but getting a solid 30 fps would be the bare minimum for me if it has boost performance.

Re: Random: Switch Players Report Game Cards Being Swapped Out For Googly Eyes

SilentHunter382

@GravyThief Yep though physical copies earn less gold then digital. It is 1% of the RRP for a physical and I think 5% for digital. And no once the gold has been claimed from the cartridge then nobody else will get gold. I have confirmed this when I bought games second hand within the 2 years of the games releases and the gold had already been claimed on some of them. You can be lucky though like yourself if they never knew about it.

Re: Latest 'Switch 2' Rumour Suggests Nintendo Is Preparing For An Enormous Launch

SilentHunter382

My key hopes are that they are backwards compatible with physical games (nothing said on this even though they said that there is backwards compatible) and improved conformance.

Not expecting for all games to go full 60fps but would like games that had an inconsistent frame rate to become a solid frame rate (regardless if it is 30 or 60).

Those are the most important things for me. Anything else is a bonus.

Re: Feature: "We Tested 60fps In Pre-Production, But The Smoothness Felt Unnatural"

SilentHunter382

Sometimes if the reason is good enough then I am ok with 30 but the reason has to be really justifiable. I am a 60fps snob but I remember the reason for south park stick of truth being 30 also was to emulate the show and having it at 30 keeps the more jank animation look compared to 60.

And to me that is a very valid argument to have. Just saying it is more cinematic isn't really a good argument and feels more like a cop-out.

Re: Nintendo Life's Switch Summer Survey 2024

SilentHunter382

with question 11. While I didn't have to send in my Switch in for repaired I did have to send in my Dock in for repairs as it was failing to display anything. Lucky I had my friend bring his switch and dock with him one day to be able to troubleshot it to make the request easier.

Re: Atlus To Delist Shin Megami Tensei V & All DLC From Switch eShop

SilentHunter382

Overall I do understand them delisting the game but you would think they would atleast keep the dlc for people who don't want to get the new version but still want to get the dlc.

I know Koei did this with the Atelier series on steam when the DX versions of some of there games got released. They removed the ability to buy the older version but kept the dlc for those games on those store pages. I think that is the best way to handle it.

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate For Paper Mario: TTYD On Switch?

SilentHunter382

I never played the original so I want to get it but I am disappointed to hear that it was 60 fps to 30 fps in this remake.

Now I am a person who will always want 60 over 30 but there are a few select games that are fine with 30. Like turn based game which this is.

Now if the original was 30 fps then I wouldn't be bothered to to be honest but knowing that it has a downgrade in fps does leave a bad taste though.
