Re: Ori Director Apologises For Previous Criticism Of Fable, No Man's Sky And Cyberpunk Developers

SilentHunter382

Ya when I saw his criticisms yesterday it was a dumb move to make. Will I agree with some point levied against him my concern was from a future issue. That if he wanted to change jobs then he would have a much small pool of options if employers didn't like his honest opinion.

While I do praise him for his honest on Peter as he is a true snake oil salesman. His thoughts on Shane I would have agree until I saw Internet Historians video on No man sky and that has put a different view point on shane. Then cyberpunks dishonesty was defo the game running on last gen systems.

Re: Talking Point: So, What Are The Chances We'll See A 'New' Nintendo Switch In 2021?

SilentHunter382

To me I would only get an upgrade if it can make games run at either 60 fps or if they are an unstable framerate on the switch make it run at a stable 30 with no drops.

If they were to add a resolution boost then I would say 1440p docked and 1080p handheld but in turn this would make games that could run at 60 at 1080p dock and 720p handheld run at 30 or have the unstable framerate.

Re: Apex Legends "Champion Edition" Physical Release Confirmed

SilentHunter382

I am a person that hates that companies release a physical game without a code in a box.

But for games like apex it makes sense. You have to remember guys. This is an online only game and when the servers shut down poof the game cart is completely useless. Also the game is free to play so you really just playing for cosmetics.

Re: Nintendo Won't Be Announcing A New Switch Model "Any Time Soon"

SilentHunter382

@NathanTheAsian Well I am going based on the perception that if Nintendo uses cartridges again then I would like them to have backward compatible. If they go disc again then I don't expected it.

Now with the frame rate part. I would love it if devs would be able to patch in to take advantage of the higher specs but lets say for argument sake that they don't. Then I hope that the improved version or new system improves the performance of games to have a solid 30fps when on the Switch it would have a unstable frame rate.

Re: Nintendo Won't Be Announcing A New Switch Model "Any Time Soon"

SilentHunter382

@NathanTheAsian The reason I would like to see a pro model or a new system with backward compatibility that will boost switch games is for improved framerate or stable framerate.

I am someone who will lower the resolution or graphics settings of my PC games just so I can get a solid 60 FPS. Same goes for the same on my PS5 where I will sacrifice resolution and graphic fidelity just to have a smoother gameplay experience.

Re: Nintendo Won't Be Announcing A New Switch Model "Any Time Soon"

SilentHunter382

Honestly if they are to say release a "Pro" model this year then I don't expect them to release the next system for at least 3 years.

So either they release a pro model this year and not release their next system until 2024 or they could decide to skip the pro and release their next system in 2023 which would make it the switch 6+ years at that stage which would make it a fair amount of time between systems.

I am just curious if they do release the next system will it be backwards compatible and will it boost the performance on games and/or a resolution up scaling on them. With the performance I don't see them increasing games like zelda botw to run at 60 but the extra power will fix the frame rate to make it a stable 30.

Re: Soapbox: Grinding Is Poor Gameplay Design That Doesn’t Respect Your Time

SilentHunter382

Honestly Majority of games don't need grinding. The vast majority of the time is people having yet to understand the battle system fully. I had a friend who played persona 5 and was at a higher level then me and struggled at the 4th dungeon boss yet I one shot it.

Main reason. He wasn't using defensive buffs or debuffs on enemies.

The only time grinding makes sense is for superbosses.

Re: Nintendo Issues Mass DMCA Takedown, 379 Fan-Made Games Forcibly Removed

SilentHunter382

@Jaygold You can actually lose your ip if you don't fight for it.

"long as people give nintendo credit for their ip in their fan works it should be fine"

That only works for "Creative Commons" work which doesn't work for IPs owned by a company which have been filed for as TM. Creative Commons does have a sort of IP protection where people can't TM creations that have be created under CC since.

Example of a Creative Commons the SCP stories. That is under Creative commons which means people can create stories. You can use other peoples scps that they created and integrated into yours or even change aspects of the original creators work as long as you created them. You can even make games and sell them if you want aslong as all the peoples creations you used are credited.

Re: Nintendo Issues Mass DMCA Takedown, 379 Fan-Made Games Forcibly Removed

SilentHunter382

@Jaygold "But what do they get out of it?"

What happens is if they don't do this at all and leave it go on for too long they will eventually lose their TM as they didn't protect it enough which will mean that it will become public domain which means everyone can use nintendo's tm characters that they failed to protect.

Now I do agree on the Legal right and the morally right part but it is a double edge sword. I wish Nintendo would loosen up and let people make fan games but on the other side if they do they could end up losing the TM to characters.

Re: Fortnite Creator Epic Games Is Turning A Dying Shopping Mall Into Its New HQ

SilentHunter382

While I am not a fan of epic (more so with the epic game store) and I don't hate fortnite. I gave it ago for a few weeks, had my fun and moved on but I think this is a very good move on reusing an abandoned building as a HQ.

Also it could be good for either the existing shops or new shops that open up there as they have an open tour in part of the mall of their history and that would bring in people and help bring customers for those shops.

Re: Best Of 2020: There's No Shame In Playing On Easy, Even If You're A Pro

SilentHunter382

The problem is that sometimes we don't know what we want really. I remember when Sekiro came out the games media was wanting an easy mode and all games should have an easy mode. Then the FFVII remake came out and the media was complaining that easy mode was too easy. If a game is designed to have punishing gameplay (souls like games) then having an easy mode kinda defeats the purpose of those games.

It is great that if a game has an easy mode but if a game doesn't have an easy mode then sometimes you just have to play it through on the lowest difficulty it offers.

For me I always either play on Normal or Hard. There are exceptions where I would play on easy if there is a reason too (ie Metal gear solid 2 where are dog tags on each difficulty even on the same enemies).

The reason I play on normal or hard is that I find that if I play on easy I just get bored very easily and lose interest in the game more quickly.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Says Bayonetta 3's Development Is "Going Very Well"

SilentHunter382

Honestly I don't care how long the game takes I want it to be as polished as it can be at launch. My issue is we have had no more trailers or screenshots since the teaser.

Instead of saying it is going fine etc etc. How about show us something. "Show don't tell" will put alot of players at ease if you just show something. If players are getting annoyed that is on you Platinum and not the players.

Also people have forgotten that Cyberpunk started of the same way as bayonetta. Showed off a teaser of the game and then nothing for years. Both games showed off their games way too early and because of that the hype for people only builds.

Wait until you can show off late alpha gameplay if you want to show off your game or at least release a teaser but know you can release a real trailer a few months down the line. Also none of that fake trailers that EA (anthem) and Ubisoft (division 2) show off.

Re: Random: Disgruntled Fans Spam Nintendo Tweet In Response To YouTube Soundtrack Takedowns

SilentHunter382

@sanderev @boxyguy Honestly I have bought games were I have been on the fence about buying but hearing the soundtrack for said games on youtube made me buy them.

If those OST weren't on youtube then I wouldn't have bought those games.

@TheLightSpirit This is what many people are saying it in chat. Nintendo are making it very difficult for many people to buy their OST physically outside of japan. They don't have the songs on google play or itunes. Sure they have the pokemon OST on itunes but not on google play.

Re: Random: Disgruntled Fans Spam Nintendo Tweet In Response To YouTube Soundtrack Takedowns

SilentHunter382

@BenAV Ok then that I do agree with. There are somethings that are an non-issue. This I think falls between the Non-issues and Little things.

What Nintendo should do is create channels for their OST on youtube and be the sole place on youtube to listen to that. That way Nintendo cuts out the re-uploads and then nintendo can then can make money off people listening to those ost. That would be the best compromise for these people. Sure you are going to get people complaining that there are ads on the songs but it is the best middle ground for people who want to listen to the OST for "free" and for Nintendo to make money off them.

Re: Random: Disgruntled Fans Spam Nintendo Tweet In Response To YouTube Soundtrack Takedowns

SilentHunter382

@BenAV "people who whinge over ever little thing don't really deserve nice things anyway."

This part here bothers me. I know where you are coming from with it but the thing is it is sometimes the little things that people complain about can make the bigger impact. If you complain about the little thing and companies do change on that then eventually they may give into some more larger issues that people have.

Little things to some people would be the inverted controls in the All stars collection as those people are the minority to that control scheme but the people complained and Nintendo did something about it. But since that is a little thing and people whinged about it. In your mind Nintendo shouldn't have don't that since people like that don't deserve it.

My thoughts on the artical. Are Nintendo fully in their right to do so. 100% they are but is it the right thing to do No. There are some give and take. I understand that you need to protect your IP but at times you keep on doing it to an extreme extent that you will eventually piss off a large amount of people where it will have a noticeable impact later on. It may be small now but keep doing it and that small group will be large enough to notice.

Re: Master Chief Joins The Battle In Fortnite

SilentHunter382

Honestly I say samus would fit the best out of all the nintendo characters. My only issue is they are going to have to do some alterations to the suit. Like removing the arm blaster.

If I am not mistaken the default look is available for all consoles but isn't there an exclusive version for people playing on the system they are from. Like kratos has an exclusive skin on playstation. Master chief has one on xbox so I would assume the same would be for Samus on switch (which should be the zero suit skin).

I understand that Nintendo may not want Samus on other systems but the same could be said for Playstation with kratos. (Before you say that sony is dabiling with having PC ports they have stated that they don't see PC as competition). I would assume they would have had to get the go ahead to have a mascot for each console manufacture before going ahead with it. If one said no then the rest would say no (maybe microsoft would still go ahead with it but defo not playstation or nintendo if the other said no).

Re: Custom-Made Etika Joy-Con Which Raised $10k For Charity Fell Foul Of Copyright Claim, Creator Reveals

SilentHunter382

@Burning_Spear Couldn't put it better myself.

Nintendo needs to protect the ip or else they lose it. Now is it morally right for them to do it. No I don't think so but they need to make sure they do these thing even if the people who Nintendo sent the message too were doing it for a good thing.

I can imagine Nintendo not wanting to do it either but they have too.

Re: Persona 5 Strikers Is Coming To Western Switch Consoles In February 2021

SilentHunter382

@The_Pixel_King It is a great controller. I love the adaptive trigger, At times they work like normal Analog triggers but once the adaptive triggers kick in (depends on the game) it is awesome.

Comfort is good but I still prefer the xbox one controller but that is more of a personal choice and not a negative to the Duelsense.

Though I found the mic to be kinda finicky. Not tested it as a voice chat mic (I am a pc main gamer so I wouldn't be using PS to chat with people) but when using it in the free game it makes you blow into the mic (like on a ds or 3ds) for commands but it never worked. When I disable the mic (button on the controller) it did the command automatically. Not sure if the mic on my controller is messed up or what.
