Re: Poll: Pokémon Sword And Shield Launched A Year Ago, Has Your Opinion On Them Changed?

SilentHunter382

@Yas |Once again, the voting suggests the games have been well received (46% positive to 42% negative, at time of posting)

I wouldn't call those results well received. To me those would be mixed results leaning into the mostly positive. Cause the results at the time were close to one another they would be called mixed.

Right now it is 36% positive and 52% negative which I call mostly negative.

Re: Random: New Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Mod Aims To Restore Hyrule Age Of Calamity Style

SilentHunter382

@Alucard83 People make mods cause they love the games. Some mods just replace the models or textures which is a simple mod. Others can add so much extra content to the game that will add extra hours and most important to me it can help improve the games performance.

Example Nier on PC is really really poorly optimized but with a fan patch (mod) improves the games performance that makes playing the game a much better experience without changing anything else in the game.

Mods are not illegal. Mods have been encouraged my many many companies. Just because Nintendo them don't like it doesn't mean it is automatically illegal.

Hell someone made a mod for Just Cause 2 on pc that added multiplayer and SE loved it so much they added as a mod on steam. When Just Cause 3 was released SE encouraged the same people to make the multiplayer mod for the game again.

Another example of SE is that someone did a upgrade of the original Deux ex and added 10 hours of extra gameplay on pc and SE was very impressed that they added it on steam for free for old and new owners of the original game.

Some games can live for a long long time with mods. Skyrim would be nowhere as popular as it is now if it wasn't for mods. Yes it would be popular but not on the same level if Bethesda didn't allow mods.

Re: Frame Rate And Resolution For Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo Revealed

SilentHunter382

@Rodan2000 You can tell the difference. The problem with people who say this have not played on higher fps. I can tell the difference between 120, 60 and 30.

We are not trolls. Framerate is very important for a game. A solid fps give a smoother experience and the higher it is the more fluid it will be as well as faster input response. The input response on 60 is faster then 30. Why do you think all fighting games are 60 fps it is because cause of the response time.

Re: Frame Rate And Resolution For Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo Revealed

SilentHunter382

@SimonCucho if you think sub 30 fps is fine then get basic PC and download a new game and max the settings on it and play it it would be bad. Or play deadly premonition 2 without the patch in the open areas. That is framerate and it is very important to have locked 30 fps minimum.

Resolution to me is not that important but FPS is very important. They needed get atleast a locked 30 fps for a smooth experience for the whole game.

Re: Interview: "There Would Be No Control On Switch Without The Cloud," Says Remedy

SilentHunter382

@Hunt3r_Cr0wl3y Cloud version of a game means that you are streaming the game too the switch.

That means the game is running on a computer and then it is streaming to your switch for you to play it. This mean you will be playing the game on PC quility settings that the switch would never be able to handle natively without any downloads (outside of the launcher download too play the game).

The downside to this is that you need to have a very high internet connect at all times to play the game and the slower your connection is the worst the game will play (input lag) but even if you have good connection you will still have input lag worse then a native port since it needs too send your input to the computer then bounce back that information to your switch. Also if Remedy decides to shut down these computers hosting the game then you lose your access to that game even if you paid for it.

Re: Interview: "There Would Be No Control On Switch Without The Cloud," Says Remedy

SilentHunter382

Guys not all games are created equal. Yes they ported Witcher 3 to the switch but that doesn't mean that every game can then be ported to the switch. I play games at max 4k rez 60 fps when I can and some open world games run fine at that while other linerer games are not able for it.

Let's takes RE3 remakes vs Control for example (both linerer games). RE3 is a much better looking game graphically compared to Control which would mean it is very gpu heavy but with all the partical effects and destructible environments in Control compared to RE3 which means that games is very CPU heavy. That means porting these games would be very different process.

You can't have the mindset of always going "if x game can be ported then y game can easily."

Re: Talking Point: Cloud Gaming On Switch – The Pros And Cons Of The Cloud

SilentHunter382

I don't like cloud game at all but I won't say that it shouldn't exist.

If you are paying for the game and it is cloud based (like the switch) then I will say hell no this is what I don't want cloud gaming too be.

Now if you buy native port of the game and also offered a cloud version which runs off a pc (either free or a small extra fee) then sure that I am fine with as you still have the game (while may not look or run as good) you will still have the game.

Where I am fine with cloud game also is a services model. Pay €10 - €15 a month and have access too all these cloud based games then I am ok with that as you are not paying for the games you are paying too rent these games.

Re: No More Heroes 1 & 2 Are Both Available Now On Switch

SilentHunter382

Hmm €20 each (not counting the 10% off) Seems fair for each but would have liked a bundle deal also.

By biggest worry is that is NMH 1 for EU the Censored version or will it be the uncensored version that was released in the US.

I am assuming NMH 2 is going too be uncensored since it was for the EU release.

Re: Control: Ultimate Edition Is Available Now On Switch, But There's A Catch

SilentHunter382

@Agramonte ah then if that is the case with GeforceNOW or Shadow then I am ok with that form of cloud gaming but the form likes Stadia (the buying of games individually not the renting model) or with the switch cloud games I hate.

I am completely fine with a renting model where you have access too all these games but you pay a monthly fee. That too me should be the way cloud gaming should be (like PS NOW).
